Just picked up a pizza. COLD! Ham and pineapple didn't seem cooked. Very disappointed. It made me put a star. I would have done none

This pizza spot is a welcome choice to an otherwise dry area for chow options, particularly during later evening hours. We were lodging at neaby Twin Pine Casino. The casino has some overpriced mediocre options, as one is basically a captive patron there for food choices. We scanned Yelp and came across Stone Fire. They are open weekday nights until 9pm. I think they also deliver, but not sure to the casino or hours for this service. The large take-out pizza we got was a respectable pie offering. The younger-aged staff were all friendly, respectful & accommodative. It's a quick, relatively easy 10min. trip from the casino to the pizza place. Good job Stone Fire. We'd definitely come back if in the area. read more

Very dependable lunch option for me and my staff. We have ordered over 100 times and never had an issue, the pizza and the sandwiches are consistent and ingredients fresh. Have eaten there as a group of 24 many times after golf events and they do not seem overwhelmed and able to greet and serve the large groups without missing a beat. The food was OK. But, the service was terrible. We waited over 1/2 hr for our pizza, and had to go ask about it. The counter person did not even know we had an order in and had to search for it. It seems someone put it in a box, as if it were a take-out order. We had been sitting there the whole time, and the staff should have known that we were customers. also, none of the staff cleared tables after people left. Instead of clearing the tables, they just hung out behind the counter and chatted. So we had to look at dirty tables the whole time. Lazy, ignorant staff - it's not worth the aggravation. read more

Would not recommend calling in an order. I called at 1:03. The owner answered the phone and I ordered a personal pizza. She said it would be 20 minutes and $9.38. First off let me start by saying the pizza is very good. HVL you are lucky to have a pizza parlor like Stonefire. You could have a little Caesars or pizza hut...... So count your blessings. The salads are good the wings are good......and the employees are COOL! I like everything about this place. Now......for what I don't like. One star bashers that slam an independent business! I once called for delivery.......the girl said 1 hour. "One hour!" "Hell I'm ten minutes away....I'll just jump in the car and pick it up." If you're willing to wait over an hour for a pizza to be delivered......and you LIVE in HVL....either just WAIT the EXTRA hour or next time.....just go get it..... Called to place an order for delivery and everything went perfectly fine until two hours past. Therefore I called to ask about the order. They claimed to have come and called but I never received any calls from them. I was forced to pay for an Uber there and back to pick it up since I had already paid for the pizza thru the phone. I was staying at the Twin Pines Casino just south of Middletown. In their Guest book in every room is a menu for the local "brewing Company" which sells great pizza. I called them up and tried to order delivery, to which i was told "I'm sorry, we don't deliver." lol WHAT?! So the casino puts your Menu in thier book so I can drive down and pick it up? do you know how much Bacardi I just had? Great!... So I call up Stone Fire Pizza in Hidden valley and they are more than willing to deliver to the Casino! Thats 6.4 Miles Folks! No pizza company delivers more than 4 miles in my town. This was a godsend. I ordered a 1/2 Combo, 1/2 Hawaiian and was not disappointed. They told me "a 1 hour wait." PFF no Problem, More Bacardi fo Me!! 1 hour later, I muster up enough drunken english to call them back (thank God for Redial) and ask about the pizza. The apologize and said they will send it out within 15 minutes. WoooWeeee!! More Bacardi Time! :D *Glug Glug* Finally arrives, and they gave me free breadsticks due to the wait. No problem! Our first time to try this place, we called ahead and ordered a pizza for takeout. We arrived a little early to pick it up and they put us at the top of the list, to get it out faster. Great cheesey bread omg it's so bomb. Get a large. Trust me. I am not a big pizza person, but my kids do enjoy this place a lot. Try the Italian salad and add bell peppers & cucumbers. So bomb! I would say, for Lake County, this pizza is pretty tasty. We have been to all of the Stone Fire locations, but frequent the HVL location the most. Their salads are great, the garlic knot things are a little inconsistent and funky, but decent. The biggest downside is having to order via the phone. There is one girl who is always extraordinarily pleasant to talk to. The rest of the people we seem to get on the phone seem to be rushed and just overall unpleasant. Knowing that you are about to pay for service like that (because it's one of the only restaurants within 20 minutes of your house) is a but of a bummer. read more

Just now looking at the online menu for Hidden Valley to order food for a group of us at work. I have been going to this restaurant pretty much since it opened. Every visit that we have ever had the food was great, just like the service. The people who work there and the Owners/Management have always been very nice and helpful. We ordered an extra large combination pizza and the size was not extra large to me and also there was no taste to it. I think it needs more seasoning flavor. The crust was thin and not much sauce on it. I bought anchovies to put on top and if it weren't for those, it wouldn't have flavor. The personal pizzas aren't bad though...not sure what they do that makes the personal pizza more flavorful then the regular pizza. read more

It's ...pizza. Quality has slowly been going downhill. Not sure if it's from lack of management, or just them being the only pizza joint in town and not able to handle it? The last three times we have ordered from them, our order was: 1. Wrong. They forgot a portion of our order. 2. Someone had forgotten to remove either plastic wrap or wax paper that got baked into the bottom of our pizza crust, rendering it inedible. 3. Ridiculously slowwwww, in receiving our order, I think over a 2.5 hour wait could be improved. 4. Items we requested and paid for, were never delivered. Maybe we just happened to have called on a busy night? But each and every time our experience has been a let down. I have yet to see an improvement. I don't think we'll be ordering from them anymore. I ordered a pizza for delivery tonight. My wife and I normally drive down but we were stuck at home, so for the first time we thought we'd just get it delivered. We ordered, and were quoted 30 minutes to an hour. That was fine. An hour and 15 minutes go by, so we call to see what's going on. The girl says it's ready, but their delivery person is really busy so it'll be another 15 minutes. 45 minutes later we get our pizza, so I called the store to see why our 30-60 minute pizza took 2 hours to deliver. The girl said "deliveries were really busy tonight". I asked why, if deliveries were really busy, we just weren't quoted 2 hours. She didn't know. Didn't offer a discount or any kind of reimbursement for the customer's time. No apology. Ridiculous. Having worked in a pizza place, I can understand long delivery times. What bothers me is that I was clearly quoted 30 minutes to make sure I ordered (rather than finding other options), instead of being told the actual time. Again, you would think they would apologize or try to make up for it, but no. Two stars, but only because the pizza, as always, was good. Good job chefs! read more
