Right now I am giving them a 3 star review. Had a Lemon Drop Martini there recently which had no taste at all. They need a real bartender to make cocktails. Good bar food, good price. The aptly-named stone front tavern is a bit foreboding from the outside, but inside we found an animated, pleasant bar atmosphere. Chatter was lively, but not so loud that my partner and I couldn't converse. We were also able to find a table at 7:00 on a Friday night, which was a pleasant surprise. Getting service took a while, but when our waitress came, she was pleasant and efficient. The food was basic tasty bar fare, served hot and at reasonable prices. I had a burger with sweet potato fries. The burger was great, but the sweet potato fries were a bit bland. I also ordered a pint of Pyramid apricot ale, which was quick to arrive. The seating I do not care for; The noise level a bit high and the food was not good. Had a chicken sandwich and received one with a TON of mayo and lettuce on it. Sad sad service! We go here and usually enjoy, but tonight we walked into what didn't seem like a very busy bar and took a seat at a open table. We proceeded to sit there for 15 minutes without ever being waited on.... the there was a waiter who looked over made eye contact and then did nothing.... maybe not his section... then a waitress who seemed to notice use, but decided rather than waiting on the waiting customers she was going to wash a couple tables..... then when finished washing tables she walked over to help another table..... We walked out and went for Mexican good..... With service like that we will not be supporting this place.... read more

Stoneburgers are outstanding. Get it with a salad as the fries aren't that great. Drinks are reasonably priced, and come quick. Its in a strange location and looks, well, nasty from the outside, but give it a shot, its good. Couple of pool tables and some lottery games with a big screen can keep almost anyone busy. read more

Great little sports bar to hang out at and shoot some pool while having some good eats and drinks. I ordered this grape daquari thing and MAN was it delicious!! I had 3 more, PLUS hub and I ordered nachos, fries, and 2 burger plates and our bill came out to only $25!! The service was excellent; everyone working there were very freindly and attentive. When we first arrived at 11:15am they were not open. So we called and they said they open at noon. So we ran a few errands and came back at noon to find the doors still locked. We finally called again at 12:10 and they said it would be another 15 mins. Around 12:20 a car pulled up with a couple of ladies in it who proceeded to enter the building and then opened the doors for several customers and us who were waiting in the parking lot. We first walked in and the tables where shoved all over to the side and the place was in disarray. Apparently we were told they were having a concert that night which they normally don't do. We found a spot to sit and looked over the menus. I ordered a Bacon Cheeseburger with a double patty with fries and a Diet Coke. The burger came out and looked great. The bun was nicely toasted and the bacon was crisp and tasty. The patties I think we're just frozen patties but was cooked just right. The fries looked a lot like McDonald's type of thin fries. They were definitely frozen. They tasted fine but since they were so thin and so many of them they got cold quickly. Next time I think I will try the tater tots or onion rings. The waitress/bartender was extremely nice and comped us our drinks because they opened late and we had to wait. Overall I would give it another try sometime. The prices were quite reasonable with most all items under $8 and the sodas were cheap at $1.50. read more

We used to love Stone Front!! Super cheap, and their burgers are delicious (which is still true despite this review). Tonight however, they only had one server on, and they were pretty busy. Our food was completely mediocre. We got an app sampler, which was obviously all frozen stuff...the fried mushrooms are disgusting, couldn't eat them at all. I got a large dinner salad with chicken added. There was half a breast of chicken, and the salad cost $10. The wrong dressing was put on it, but it took 30 minutes just to get the food, and the server never came back to check on us anyway, so there wasn't an opportunity to say anything. Mostly it was frustrating, and we won't return unless the parking lot is empty. read more

This is my favorite bar in Salem, entirely. I love the staff and the prices are reasonable. You don't have to dress up if you don't want to here. It reminds me of an english pub. I have heard a lot about the Stone front and wanted to try it for myself, it was totally forgettable I won't be back, it was prime rib night, I got there at about 7pm and they were out of the prime rib, so I ordered a steak, rib eye, med. rare, baked potato and salad and a beer, first they were out of the beer I ordered, IPA, it would have been nice if the waitress had told me this, then I was told that they were out of baked potatoes, so i had french fries, when the steak came it in no way resembled a rib eye, plus it was well done, the fat was blubbery, and tasted as if it was steamed instead of cooked on a grill, no flavor, no seasoning, the frys were match sticks and became cold really fast, the waitress kept, making mistake after mistake, My mistake? going to the Stone Front, won't happen again. read more

we have been long time fans of the Stone Front and knowing it changed ownership;we have been there several times to eat and have a few drinks; the first thing they did was raise prices and skimp back on portions okay, well we can live with that but after recently trying again, we have decided, no more! They told us that they were completely out of the brand of alcohol we usually drink then we chose a 2nd option and they told us they were out of that too; ordered a classic Stone front burger it was terrible- tasted old bun was dried out,no condiments etc..and they charge for dressing! Although they have cleaned it up and put a nice patio outside the service is very slow and inconsistent- next time you can't decide between the only two options out south go with the other one! read more

Absolutely LOVE so many things on their menu. Perfect mixed drinks, not super strong but not so blah that you can't taste the alcohol. My girlfriend and I went in after a day of shopping. We had a salad and a couple of beers. The bartender was super cute, he looks like the younger brother of Keanu Reeves.
