Got a chance to eat here during the weekend when the street is closed. The ambience of enjoying a dinner as a community is unbeatable. There was also a live band upstairs that we didn't get to fully check out but will definitely look into next time. The downside of enjoying the meal in an open concept is you'll have to constantly fend off bugs from enjoying the meal with you. Not that big of deal, we're in PA and outside afterall. Had a quick bite to eat at the recent Mrs. Roper romp in Phoenixville. Took advantage of the outdoor tables so I could enjoy the crowd. Our waitress was attentive and quick. The table shared the cheesesteak flatbread and the cheesesteak eggrolls. I can't believe I forgot to take photos. I never do that. The flatbread was really good. A solid spot on bridge street for some good beers, food and a place to watch the games. For apps, we shared the brussel sprouts which were very good and not too oily at all. I enjoyed the pork belly with every bite! I ordered the beet grain bowl, and it was enormous! It was big enough to feed the table! Very large portion with a lot of fresh ingredients. I just wish the dressing was a bit stronger. I loved the creaminess of it, but it was very bland and needed more to make the bowl stand out. Maybe balsamic? Great location, good beer, and one heck of a chicken sandwich make for a good day in downtown Phoniexville. Located directly across the street from the iconic Colonial movie theater where the blob was orginally filmed lies this casual brewery with some pub food that is sure to hit the spot. There were quite a few items my girlfriend and I were deciding upon before making our 1:30pm movie time and we settled on the Zo's chicken deluxe. This beaut of a sandich comes fried with American cheese and a garlic aioli sauce that really takes this sanwich up a notch. First thing that entered my mind after the first or second bite was the words, "By God this sandwich is better than Chick-fila". That is when I knew we had certainly picked a great menu item. The fries were very good as well however I only had a handful, fries are too addicting and I am trying to cut back on them as the level of sodium coupled with any fried sandwich is not great for anyone's health. Beer - Went with the "Ring the Bell" unfiltered Pilsner and it a most excellent smooth and easy drinkable beer. 16oz for $6.00 yes please! Girlfriend went with the Fednuts : Peach Melba Fruited Ale. I had a sip and there was a little bit too much going on in the fruited ale for me but certainly had its own unique flavor which includes : Peach, raspberry, and vanilla bean flavors. Seemed like the place was a bit short handed and I must make a note that the party of four seated a few tables ahead of us looked like they were legit being attacked by bees. Wasn't a fan of the food here. I've had brussel sprouts from their Havertown location, and a burger. And I was obsessed. So I was excited to dive in here. Their sprouts, however... explode with oil the second you chomp into them. Not. Appetizing. which is a shame because otherwise the flavor would've been killer. They are also not advertised as deep fried, and I wouldn't have ordered them if I'd known. My gf got their crispy chicken sandwich. And crispy it was not. Just lightly breaded, and no real flavor. Nothing to go back for unfortunately. My friends, however enjoyed their burger and salad. I will say, however, that they shined in service and beers! (I usually am not a Conshy fan so I was pleasantly surprised. Our waiter was extremely attentive, and personable. The prices are also very fair. I'd go back for beer and maybe another light bite, but hopefully they work on the menu a little by then (aka don't deep fry the sprouts, please!). read more

My husband and I spent our Friday evening hopping between a few different breweries in Phoenixville and Rec Room was one of them. Although I can't say it was my favorite of the few, I still had a great experience. I first started off with a gummy mode strawberry hard seltzer which is gluten free. I wasn't too crazy about it but I'm thankful that they have a hard seltzer on the menu since I'm not a big beer drinker. I always appreciate when businesses have food and beverages of all different kinds and can cater to people with dietary restrictions. As for food, we got beer fried cheese curds and brussel sprouts and both were a hit. The cheese curds were a little soggy but still delicious. They would have been just perfect if they were a bit crispier! They came with two dipping sauces: chipotle ranch and sriracha aioli and the second one was for sure my favorite! The brussel sprouts were fantastic and I would definitely get them again. Although brussel sprouts are sometime assumed to be a vegetarian option, note that they are not here because Rec Room adds crispy pork belly to theirs. One final thing worth noting is that Rec Room is handling the pandemic very well. All utensils were disposable, drinks were served in plastic cups meaning they are not reused, and our waiter maintained a good distance when taking orders and serving us. Both were pretty good and it was definitely too much food. They have ping pong and shuffleboard tables in the back that we played on for a while. Overall, this place wasn't really my kind of place. The Rec Room is a lot of fun and is surely worth a visit when in downtown Phoenixville. The rec room itself is my favorite part about this place. It's not often that you find a place where you can play ping pong and shuffleboard is usually tucked in the back of a dimly lit dive bar somewhere (not that there's anything wrong with that). So props for the concept of having both under one roof with good beer and food to boot! I'm a fan of Conshohoken beer and like that they have a variety of styles to choose from. On my most recent visit, they were out of quite a few beers due to the Blob fest event happening in town; but I was still able to grab a nice tasting IPA while I got some action in on the ping pong table. I've had food from here a handful of times now - with my last order being buffalo wings - they were good but tasted like they could've been frozen and reminded me of wings I'd have at Buffalo Wild Wings. Not terrible but not great either. I'd absolutely come back again for the beer and balls of fury but will save my appetite for one of the other local jawns in town. read more

Bun seemed stale and the sauce was ehh. While I applaud an attempt to do a homemade veggie burger, it was pretty disappointing. It looked unappetizing and tasted about the same. We came here absolutely starving and got seated right away during a busy lunch hour on a weekend (there were 2 of us). Our waiter was so great to bring our food our as quickly as possible! We ordered the hummus platter which was delicious and had huge chunks of feta cheese. We also got the shrimp po boys which we could have shared because they were HUGE! The side salads were yummy and paired well with our sandwiches. I had half of my sandwich as it was, but then only ate the fried shrimp from the second half (without the roll). It was a good call because I would have felt so stuffed afterwards because it was a lot of bread, but it was super delicious. The shrimp were fried to perfection and the bread was soft and fluffy. Next time I would split an appetizer and a sandwich since their portions are so big! You get a great bang for your buck here. We didn't get to try any of the beers but they had a great selection. Okay, I'm not a fan of Conshohocken Brewing company, even though my father-in-law and every one of my friends from Conshohocken love it. Those Conshy people don't love their own bakery, but they love this place. Weird... Anyways, a bunch of my drunken friends wanted to go here, because they were drunk and from Conshy, so we stopped in for a bit. I ordered their best beer, which was still nothing that special to me. Why the three stars then instead of something much less? This place has ping bong/beer pong, shuffleboard and possibly other games too. Were there billiard tables? I don't quite remember, but an entire area devoted to games. That's pretty cool, even if I didn't play them. It gets crowded as it's one of those places that can hold a lot of people, something the original Conshy brewing was missing. Like the reason my friends really wanted to go here, you should too. There are a lot of people that you can try and meet. Your drink apparently tastes better when there are more people in a room bumping into you. Conshy brews delicious beer. The food is simple, solid - and good! It's a great place to hang back, drink beers, enjoy some bites and hit the shuffle board. As an avid ping pong player , I enjoy the many tables. Early on there was a fee to play - I hope that's not the case anymore but not entirely sure. Came here the other night with my husband for dinner. I had been here before for drinks - it's a really cool setup with the games in back and open up front. We came for dinner on a Tuesday, it was a really nice night out so we wanted something with outdoor seating. We ordered soup to start & meals, however everything came out at the same time. They were really quick to fix the timing issue and remade the entrees after we finished the soup and didn't charge for the soup. The potato soup came topped with pork belly and some toasted bread on the side, SO good! It was a really large portion so I wish I had gotten a smaller entree. First impressions don't always tell the full story. Very attentive bartender. Good first beers...Double Dragon was really good. Beer battered cheese curds were excellent...highly recommended! We even had someone who appeared to be a manager check in with us. Everything was going great until...I ordered a Mike & Merrill. They were pouring from cans. The bartender opened the beer, poured it into a glass with nearly 2 inches of head and served me the beer. He then proceeded to grab the can...which still had beer in it and give it to a patron at the bar that he knew...WTF!! We came here at the end of the night on St Patty's day, not by choice, but because our friends wanted to go here. We didn't really want to come because we've been to the Conshy brewery in Conshy and Bridgeport and weren't really impressed. Our friends insisted that this place had good beers and was cool, so we tried it. I didn't see any beers that interested me so I didn't get anything. I'm not an IPA fan and it seemed like mostly IPAs or the standard beers. My friend said the blood orange beer was good but it was an IPA so I didn't want to chance it. My husband ordered a stout and I had some of his. It was alright but nothing special. It was crowded by the bar and we kept getting bumped into so we went to the back. I thought it was cool that they had shuffleboard, foosball, and ping pong tables. We found an empty ping pong table and tried to play but there were no ball around. My friend and I both ordered the sangria to start-- it has a distinct vodka flavor, so don't go into it expecting a nice fruity sangria taste. Otherwise, it's a nice light summer drink. One of my favorite places in Phoenixville, they have a great menu, excellent beer on draft, and plenty of games (shuffleboard and ping pong, for example). They even have ping pong competitions! Their beers rotate, so things stay fresh, and their two bars means lots of space. It's central on Bridge Street, so there's no bad place to park. It's a very young place - lots of 20 year olds - which isn't a bad thing at all; keeps the place fresh. Lots of fun to be had with good food, good service, and, most importantly, good beer.
