$29.99 AYCE is a steal, and we will def be back for more. Group of 4 girls came on a Sunday night around 6pm. We were instantly given a table and started ordering. There is a banchan buffet with some food (deokbokki, fried chicken, corn cheese) as well. We got a bunch of brisket, pork belly, and marinated beef. Also got 2 steamed eggs, and a kimchi soup. Not all AYCE Korean BBQ are alike. Unfortunately, this place was a miss for us (family of 4). Their order system was non-functional. Their buffet seemed to be lacking alot of the expected banchan sides and rice paper. The meat quality unfortunately has been better elsewhere. For Silver ($29.99), we ordered bulgogi, beef belly, pork jowl, marinated short rib, steamed egg, marinated pork rib & thinly sliced pork belly. The majority of the beef items didn't seem fresh. Came into town and came here with my kids and wanted to try this place out. It's ok , the marinated meat didnt have much flavor and some of side dishes they weren't filling the tray. They need to keep on filling the trays so people can eat what they want instead of asking for it, theres so many empty trays that's need s be refill and I came around 4:30pm salad, chicken wings etc, looks so empty, think they should always have it filled all the time. That's only 1 thing they can work on. Meat needs to marinate alittle longer for the taste. Service here was ok no complaint as well. They were very nice and attentive. Ambience here was ok. This spot has improved significantly under its new ownership. The service model is streamlined with quick tablet ordering, and the food comes out quickly. The staff is energetic and attentive--shoutout to Scott, he was smooth and professional. The only downside is the missing Ajummas in the back, but the new team is doing a fantastic job. Went with the $23 lunch special and had to roll myself out afterwards. Ambience (7/10): It's a kbbq. Looks and smells like one. The Food (8/10): Repeatedly ordered the Prime Brisket, Prime Beef Belly, Garlic Pork Belly, and Teriyaki Chicken. Every cut was fresh, clean, and flavorful with zero complaints. Banchan & Buffet: The self-serve buffet in the middle was fully stocked, spotless, and packed with a huge variety of banchan and hot food options. Finding a good Korean bbq in the Garden Grove area is like a needle in a haystack because there is an abundance of KBBQ restaurants in the area. Doing the appropriate Yelp research can sometimes land you a diamond in the rough find. Since I knew we would be in this area, Chung Dam looked interesting because they have a happy hour special which at first I was not clear how it worked, but when we arrived, the one woman team explained how it worked, and we right away selected our meats and off on our own to the well stocked and great variety self served Ban Chan buffet. Honestly, just that alone, you can get full and be satisfied with it, but you go to a KBBQ for the meats. With the HH menu, there's a limited selection of meats, but our go to are Brisket, beef belly and pork belly. As I mentioned the one woman team for the front of house staff, service was excellent. She single handedly took care of all tables bringing out meat orders, clearing tables and cashing people out, she honestly did better than some other restaurants we've been too with more staff. Had such a wonderful dinner w the hubby! We were craving brisket, and opted for the lower tier menu price. Good price and quality. Dipping sauce is addicting. Self serve, all you can eat banchan. This is one of my go-to KBBQ places! I always get the gold menu because I feel like it's the most bang for your buck, but there's three tiers and a happy hour menu to choose from. All of the workers are welcoming and very attentive. I like how there are all the sides in the middle for us to grab ourselves. The only complaint I have about the interior is that circulation isn't that great, especially on a hot day. I don't know if they even have AC because the last time I went there, it was so hot that my whole family was sweating and they had a bunch of fans that seemed to be the only things keeping the temperature slightly down. For food, all the meats are delicious and high quality! My personal favorites are the beef belly, beef tongue, pork jowl, raw king ribs, and rib finger. There's a huge variety of sides, but minor complaint is that they charge extra for certain sides such as steamed egg. Other than that, all the hot sides are great, I love their cheese corn, and I also think the veggies are really fresh! The meat quality? Absolutely fire!!!! The ribs were so tender and juicy every bite was oxytocin high!!! The brisket disappeared at an alarming speed. No regrets!! There's also a self-serve island of sides and garnishes, which is dangerous for someone like me who believes in "just one more scoop." This was our first time here bringing some of our friends from NorCal! I was actually trying to go to thirsty cow but the weight was one hour long and here was only five minutes for a Saturday night at 7 PM. Parking is great around the area since most of the other stores are closed. Service was fantastic as everyone was super attentive. I love that you're able to grab your own Banchan and other snacks so it saves the servers time. I'm all about efficiency. Everyone made you feel like home and it was a comfortable, relaxed, environment. Food: - Banchan - Potato was solid, kimchi and cucumbers were great, you can grab your own radishes - Meat - We ordered the diamond and it was nice being able to try everything. Beef belly was delicious. Tongue was tender. King rib was very cool. I've never seen that before. Short ribs were tender. Squid was marinated very nicely. Brisket and Pork jowl were awesome. Honestly a very solid kbbq spot! The inside looks clean, and new. Service was very good. The staff were attentive and came around regularly to check on us and did grill changes regularly. The types of meat they include are pretty standard. The quality of the meat was good! Everything tasted fresh and clean. I also liked that they have a self serve bar where you can get the usual ban chan side dishes for yourself. I did enjoy that they include tempura squash, which is pretty unique for me, as I've never seen an item like that at other kbbq places. Overall, food was great and I'd come back. This is a good place to get kbbq without breaking the bank. My husband and I decided to try this Korean AYCE BBQ after watching Rockstar Eater's YouTube video featuring their LA Koreatown location. After checking their website, we found out that the Garden Grove location is actually the original one, so we decided to visit OC location. Parking was easy, which is always a plus. We visited on a Sunday evening around 7pm. It was busy, but the wait was reasonable and we were seated fairly quickly. This is an all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ restaurant where you choose a tier- Diamond ($58.99), Gold ($34.99), Brown ($24.99), or Happy Hour ($19.99). We went with the Gold AYCE. Meats are ordered through the server, while side dishes are self-serve in the lobby area (self bar) . The layout is simple, table spacing is comfortable, and getting sides is very straightforward. Since this is the original location, I naturally came in with slightly higher expectations - partly because of the YouTube recommendation and also from friends who had positive experiences in the past. For us, the meat quality was decent and the selection felt a bit limited, but everything was prepared well and enjoyable. Service was a highlight. The staff was friendly, attentive, and quick to help, which definitely improved the overall experience. Overall, this is a solid AYCE Korean BBQ option in the Garden Grove area. If you're looking for an AYCE spot that gives you the best service, quality, and variety for a KBBQ spot, this is it. My group of three came in at 9pm on a Monday night. We were instantly sat and our server, Scott, gave an explanation for the three dinner tiers. We normally like to stick to our classics (brisket, pork belly, steak, galbi, etc), but wanted the additional meats the gold tier gave us. The quality of meat, especially this late in the night, was extremeeelyyyy impressive. Everything was vibrant and had really great marbling. As someone who has eaten at so many KBBQ restaurants, this is definitely setting a new precedent for future KBBQ places I try. Their salad bar definitely deserves praise BUT I have to say, I came on yelp to give them 5 star+ review for their impeccable service. I've never had to raise a hand or all for anything. The good: no wait time, self serve bar with lots of options both hot and cold, service was quick, price was fair (happy hour 21.99) restaurant felt clean and spacious. The bad: some of the meat was a little dry and tough such as the brisket and some parts of the bulgogi, they didn't offer rice paper which is my favorite, they don't allow people to eat by themselves and we watched someone get turned away because of it which was a little awkward. Also be warned that if you have lots of leftovers the charge you full price for it so make sure to only order what you would eat. Overall if you're doing happy hour i say it's worth it but i wouldn't pay for their regular or premium menu because i think there's other spots around the area that are better. read more

Affordable and delicious! Their dinner prices are set in three tiers with their cheapest at $30/person. I love the self service banchan which is great because you can just grab more of what you like and none of the ones you don't. Service is speedy as well. Some KBBQ places take forever to bring the meat out, but they are quick with it! Another small note for me is that they serve pork jowl on their most basic dinner menu! The silver tier had the meats that we were interested in having so we chose that option. The staff was very intentive and stayed on top of replacing our grill as we cook. They also offer a self serve area with Korean side dishes, such as kimchi, japchae, and addicting cucumber. For dessert, they had sesame balls and a cup of vanilla ice cream that was the perfect ending to our meal. The quality of the meats were very good. Happy hour lunch was $19.99 per person (it's only on Mon-Fri between 11:30am-3pm). Main meats from the kitchen are brisket, beef belly, and pork belly, and they were all good. My favorite of the three was the beef belly, especially since they were fatty and very thinly sliced. I tried honeycombed sliced pork and marinated abomasum from the self-serve bar, too. Sliced pork was tasty, especially dabbed with some salt. Abomasum was a tough chunk of organ meat that was interesting to try, but I wasn't a fan of the sweet, bulgogi-like marinade. Buffet bar had a variety of foods, like potstickers and fried rice. I sampled a braised rib, a sesame ball, and an onion ring to cleanse my palate from all the beef belly I was downing, and they were ok. Nothing made me want to to back for seconds, though. Standard banchan minus the radish paper, but I didn't ask if they had it. Sauces and condiments were provided at our table; it's nice to know that we could top ourselves off whenever. Interior was bright and clean, and thankfully not stuffy or sticky. Waitress was straightforward and helped us get right down to business for meat orders. She was also very attentive about grill changes and clearing away empty plates. We also got individually packaged vanilla ice cream cups after our meal, so that was much appreciated. Ordering was pretty straight forward like most kbbq places, just picking the tier and then selecting meat via the server. The only thing she forgot was our ordered steam egg the entire time but we filled ourselves on meat so can't complain. The salad/sides bar was self service so didn't need to wait for anyone. The meats are fresh and tender when cooked properly. Grill changes were often and consistent. Only complaint would be the bit of airflow lacking cause we couldn't tell if our vent was on since there was smoke rising but couldn't really hear the suction. Great value kbbq, they offer 3 different sets if you want better/different meats but honestly at the time we really just wanted brisket/beef belly/pork belly so we opted for the cheapest set. My sister and I like to come here when we crave kbbq. It's not close or too far from home so we think it's worth the drive because kbbq in Irvine is mediocre. The servers are always friendly and welcoming. There hasn't really been a wait during the times we've been here but the inside is big and packed. We usually get the gold tier which has plenty of good meats and the diamond tier when we feel like splurging. Their salad and banchan are all really good.
