Came into town and came here with my kids and wanted to try this place out. It's ok , the marinated meat didnt have much flavor and some of side dishes they weren't filling the tray. They need to keep on filling the trays so people can eat what they want instead of asking for it, theres so many empty trays that's need s be refill and I came around 4:30pm salad, chicken wings etc, looks so empty, think they should always have it filled all the time. That's only 1 thing they can work on. Meat needs to marinate alittle longer for the taste. Service here was ok no complaint as well. They were very nice and attentive. Ambience here was ok. They got some chicken wings, egg rolls, sweet and sour radishes and etc as you enter the door. Overall was ok for me and my kids.

This spot has improved significantly under its new ownership. The service model is streamlined with quick tablet ordering, and the food comes out quickly. The staff is energetic and attentive--shoutout to Scott, he was smooth and professional. The only downside is the missing Ajummas in the back, but the new team is doing a fantastic job. Went with the $23 lunch special and had to roll myself out afterwards. Ambience (7/10): It's a kbbq. Looks and smells like one. The Food (8/10): Repeatedly ordered the Prime Brisket, Prime Beef Belly, Garlic Pork Belly, and Teriyaki Chicken. Every cut was fresh, clean, and flavorful with zero complaints. Banchan & Buffet: The self-serve buffet in the middle was fully stocked, spotless, and packed with a huge variety of banchan and hot food options. Value & Service (10/10): You really can't beat the price for what you get. The restaurant was surprisingly busy for a Monday lunch. It's a clear upgrade from the previous management. I'll definitely be back to try the Galbi.

Just had dinner here and it was so good! The quality of meat was amazing and a lot better compared to other places. The service here was amazing, always asking if we wanted to order more meat, and was very attentive when we needed help.

If you see this sign, that is the sign to go there for a really good KBBQ experience.

Finding a good Korean bbq in the Garden Grove area is like a needle in a haystack because there is an abundance of KBBQ restaurants in the area. Doing the appropriate Yelp research can sometimes land you a diamond in the rough find. Since I knew we would be in this area, Chung Dam looked interesting because they have a happy hour special which at first I was not clear how it worked, but when we arrived, the one woman team explained how it worked, and we right away selected our meats and off on our own to the well stocked and great variety self served Ban Chan buffet. Honestly, just that alone, you can get full and be satisfied with it, but you go to a KBBQ for the meats. With the HH menu, there's a limited selection of meats, but our go to are Brisket, beef belly and pork belly. As I mentioned the one woman team for the front of house staff, service was excellent. She single handedly took care of all tables bringing out meat orders, clearing tables and cashing people out, she honestly did better than some other restaurants we've been too with more staff. I definitely would come back here, but again only if I'll be in the area and it has to be during the Happy Hour time block

Big parking lot. We experienced friendly, attentive customer service, didn't even need to use the call button. Nice ambiance, although a casual atmosphere, I love the booth seating. Had such a wonderful dinner w the hubby! We were craving brisket, and opted for the lower tier menu price. Good price and quality. Dipping sauce is addicting. Self serve, all you can eat banchan. The banchan and kimchi soup, corn cheese, pretty solid! My favorite of the self serve fried appetizers were the fried spring rolls. We will definitely be returning here ! More pix next time! Sorry phone was left in the car :D

This is one of my go-to KBBQ places! I always get the gold menu because I feel like it's the most bang for your buck, but there's three tiers and a happy hour menu to choose from. All of the workers are welcoming and very attentive. I like how there are all the sides in the middle for us to grab ourselves. The only complaint I have about the interior is that circulation isn't that great, especially on a hot day. I don't know if they even have AC because the last time I went there, it was so hot that my whole family was sweating and they had a bunch of fans that seemed to be the only things keeping the temperature slightly down. For food, all the meats are delicious and high quality! My personal favorites are the beef belly, beef tongue, pork jowl, raw king ribs, and rib finger. There's a huge variety of sides, but minor complaint is that they charge extra for certain sides such as steamed egg. Other than that, all the hot sides are great, I love their cheese corn, and I also think the veggies are really fresh! I'll definitely be back because it's a solid spot and there usually is never a wait!

We celebrated our anniversary the only way true food lovers should: by aggressively grilling meat at Chung Dam Korean BBQ and calling it romance!! *Pro tip: checked in on Yelp, strutted in like VIPs, and only waited five minutes. Five!! That's basically winning the KBBQ lottery. *Parking is plenty, as the restaurant shares a huge lot with other stores. There are 4 menu tiers: Silver: $26.99 Gold: $36.99 Diamond: $58.99 Happy Hour: $21.99 We went Gold because we're loyal to our ride-or-die cuts: kalbi, finger ribs, brisket, and bulgogi. The meat quality? Absolutely fire!!!! The ribs were so tender and juicy every bite was oxytocin high!!! The brisket disappeared at an alarming speed. No regrets!! There's also a self-serve island of sides and garnishes, which is dangerous for someone like me who believes in "just one more scoop." The Korean fried chicken wings were tasty, crispy, criminally good!!! The japchae? Flavorful, slurpable perfection!! We left stuffed, glowing, and completely sated!! Plot twist: we loved it so much we came back the next day because apparently one anniversary dinner wasn't enough. Ryan, our server, remembered us (iconic behavior), welcomed us back, gave solid recs, and actually chatted with us like we were regulars already. Friendly service + elite meat = main character energy for the whole weekend. Would celebrate love & brisket here again!!! Definitely recommend if you're looking for good quality Kbbq in this area!!

This was our first time here bringing some of our friends from NorCal! I was actually trying to go to thirsty cow but the weight was one hour long and here was only five minutes for a Saturday night at 7 PM. Parking is great around the area since most of the other stores are closed. Service was fantastic as everyone was super attentive. I love that you're able to grab your own Banchan and other snacks so it saves the servers time. I'm all about efficiency. Everyone made you feel like home and it was a comfortable, relaxed, environment. Food: - Banchan - Potato was solid, kimchi and cucumbers were great, you can grab your own radishes - Meat - We ordered the diamond and it was nice being able to try everything. Beef belly was delicious. Tongue was tender. King rib was very cool. I've never seen that before. Short ribs were tender. Squid was marinated very nicely. Brisket and Pork jowl were awesome. Overall, we honestly had a great time here. Everything was very efficient and meat came out very fast. For speed and being able to grab all kinds of appetizers and fruit. We thoroughly enjoyed it all. I would definitely come back. 10/10.

Food was good! Service was decent wish it was a bit better but overall it gets by. The ambiance was great and vibe was awesome!

I'm stunned I haven't tried this spot all this time! Located in GG, there are so many KBBQ options that you can easily miss this. I'm glad I tried it! My friends and I did the Gold Tier AYCE (~$36.99). We were STUFFED. The self serving area for sides was the best part. Definitely missing some key items I usually order, but it's still enough to keep me satisfied! The meats came out quick, and they were also good. The variety they have is enough for the price, but if you're looking for more then it may be worth for you to upgrade the tier.

If you been here you can def say chung DAMNNNNNNN, thats good!! BBQ Chung Dam was a great experience. The brisket stood out--super tender, well-marbled, and cooked perfectly on the grill. The self-serve banchan was another highlight with fresh kimchi, pickled veggies, and plenty of variety to pair with every bite. Great service and quality all around. Would absolutely return.

My husband and I decided to try this Korean AYCE BBQ after watching Rockstar Eater's YouTube video featuring their LA Koreatown location. After checking their website, we found out that the Garden Grove location is actually the original one, so we decided to visit OC location. Parking was easy, which is always a plus. We visited on a Sunday evening around 7pm. It was busy, but the wait was reasonable and we were seated fairly quickly. This is an all-you-can-eat Korean BBQ restaurant where you choose a tier- Diamond ($58.99), Gold ($34.99), Brown ($24.99), or Happy Hour ($19.99). We went with the Gold AYCE. Meats are ordered through the server, while side dishes are self-serve in the lobby area (self bar) . The layout is simple, table spacing is comfortable, and getting sides is very straightforward. Since this is the original location, I naturally came in with slightly higher expectations - partly because of the YouTube recommendation and also from friends who had positive experiences in the past. For us, the meat quality was decent and the selection felt a bit limited, but everything was prepared well and enjoyable. Service was a highlight. The staff was friendly, attentive, and quick to help, which definitely improved the overall experience. Overall, this is a solid AYCE Korean BBQ option in the Garden Grove area. While it didn't completely wow us, we still had a pleasant meal and would consider coming back for a casual BBQ outing. What can you do with $22 in SoCal? Hmm... a full fast-food combo? Or a quick car wash? Or-- enjoy an all-you-can-eat buffet with 40+ options! Chung Dam BBQ's buffet goes above and beyond. Not just veggies, rice, and banchan-- they also have chicken wings, braised pork ribs, kimchi stew, and more And that's not even it! For the $22 happy hour, you get prime cuts like prime beef brisket & prime beef belly But we wanted something more royal, so we upgraded to the Diamond Tier King rib & short rib -- ultra-tender, buttery, rich, and melt-in-your-mouth good Highly recommend this spot for holiday meals or everyday cravings. Ask the Community - BBQ Chung Dam

    Can you eat alone?

Sorry, but we kindly ask for a minimum of two guests per table.

    Are reservations necessary?

How much would it roughly be for a party of 7? I have a birthday dinner coming up and want to make sure it accommodates everyone, especially since we usually split the bill…

Roughly $330-$360 for middle option with tips included.

Will you bring back solo diners? I want to try this place but no one to go with 😩

Sadly I don't think so..better off going to gens or I can BBQ or Mr BBQ as they allow solo diners

I have 2 kids: 2 years old and 9 years old. How much is the price for them?

Two year old is complimentary and we charge full price over 9 year old.

    Is there a senior discount?

There is no senior discount at the moment

Can someone go by themselves or do you require at least two people to eat there?

We used to take solo diners however as of 11/1/2024 we are no longer accepting solo diners. We apologize in advance and thank you for understanding.

Do they have a corkage fee?

As of now, we are not taking outside alcoholic beverages.

    Pricing for children?

    Kids between 3-8 Diamond $38.99, Gold $24.99, Silver $19.99

Can 1 person do all you can eat option, or do you require 2 people minimum in a party?

We do take one person as well! $10 extra.

    Do they have lunch specials?

It's $5 off from the regular price!

Is there room for party of 10+?

Although we do not have private rooms, we do have very spacious dining spaces than can cover more than 20 guests.

Is this an AYCE KBBQ restaurant?

    yes!

I feel like a yelper that's been living under rocks. Can't believe I never heard of this place…read moreuntil I recently saw my fellow yelper Van D's review. This is western BBQ with an Asian flair. I think the flavor is better and slightly less heavy than a traditional American BBQ. Everything was so packed with flavor, can't really pick a favorite among so many great proteins. Smoked Brisket was melt-in-your-mouth tender with a nice smokey taste. Green Curry Sausage was definitely unique with a really nice Thai infused flavors. Was slightly spicy with strong green curry and lemongrass flavors. Canton Bowl, which comes with smoked pork belly char siu, siu yuk (pork belly with super crispy skin), and coconut rice, was excellent as well. The siu yuk was really good with super crispy/crunchy skin. House-made BBQ sauces were quite good. I really like the gochujang bbq sauce. It has decent amount of heat with a sweet & spicy taste. The regular house BBQ sauce has a tangy, sweet taste with a very subtle heat. It's located at Cottage Industries. Not exactly sure what to call it. It's somewhat like a small community of restaurants and shops with a garden and a play area for kids. Parking is very limited so will most likely need to park on the streets along residential area. Service is minimal. You order at the counter and they give you a buzzer to let you know when the food is ready. Seating is only available outside in the covered patio area but you can also pick any of the community tables and chairs within Cottage Industries.

Unfortunately, the brisket was a bit disappointing because it wasn't tender and pretty dry. It tasted pretty good and paired with their gochujang bbq sauce made it taste better. We had two grills for our group, which was plenty of space, and the table came loaded with a variety of banchan. We ended up getting the Premium AYCE menu C. I really liked that the meat portions were a little smaller than what you normally get at kbbq spots because it made it easier to try more of the different options. My favorite was the marinated rib finger super flavorful, just make sure not to overcook it. Ordering was really convenient since there's a tablet attached to the table where you can order more meat or side dishes whenever you want. Everything came out pretty quickly after ordering. You do have to ask a server when you want to refill your banchan, but there were plenty of servers around so it was easy to get someone's attention for more sides or sauce. The restaurant is a little on the smaller side and the tables are fairly close together, but it didn't really take away from the experience. The service was fast and efficient, and overall I really enjoyed the meal. I'd definitely come back and try a different ayce menu for different meat options!

I went here with my girlfriend at around 7:00 pm on a weekday and we needed to wait before we could get a seat. While there was a lot of seating, there seemed to not be enough staff to manage a new section of the store. Once we got seated, we browsed their ordering sheet. After giving the staff the sheet, it took about 10 minutes to get all of our skewers. Prior to the skewers, the sides are given out first. For skewers, we got the marinated beef, beef and pineapple, and pork belly. We also got an order of the cold noodle, which ended up pairing well with the skewers. The quality of the skewers is equivalent to the Monterey park location! I'll probably skip out on the beef and pineapple one for a future visit and lean towards the other flavors. The service was okay. They seemed to be understaffed at the time so we needed to find the staff to ask additional sides and the check; they didn't check up on us.

My husband and I were craving Korean BBQ when we stumbled upon T-Kebab, and we're so glad we did!…read moreT-Kebab offers Korean-Chinese fusion cuisine with a fun and unique dining experience. The service was great, and our waitress was very attentive. I loved that the skewers rotate automatically, making it easy to cook everything evenly. It takes about 7 minutes, or longer if you prefer your meat more well-done. The ambiance is great for groups, and they even have private rooms that can accommodate around 15-20 people, making it a fun option for private events or celebrations. Just a heads up... it can get pretty hot sitting close to the burner! I really enjoyed the mala beef skewers, they were delicious and packed with flavor. Definitely worth giving this place a try, and hubby approves too!
