I always order online takeout from here. I absolutely love the pizza. The dough is phenomenal. The texture is just perfect and the way it reheats so nicely too. I usually order the pizza and caesar salad. The caesar salad is so delicious, the dressing is unique. It has an extremely garlicky taste, a little bit spicy from raw garlic. The taste is just wonderful in the caesar salad. I always save the caesar dressing as a dipping sauce. I even dip my pizza crust into the caesar sauce! The workers here are usually pretty nice. I've enjoyed Stonefire grill ever since going to my first one in Santa Clarita. They have always been kind and helpful, and the food is always delicious! Fast forward a decade, and now living in Irvine, and my love for this place continues. I am very grateful for restaurants that try to help people eat well, on a budget. The chicken was excellent, but the tri tip was very disappointing. I ordered a large catering order and tri tip was medium rare at most. Which would have been fine but the meat was so tough and chewy that it was difficult to even cut through - certainly not what we expected for the price. I thought we would get a premium cut for $235, but it was probably the worst tri tip I have ever eaten. Some of our guests requested that we cook the meat longer, as it was so pink (although it was certainly safe to eat). It ended up making our party more stressful and we had a lot left over since so few guests wanted to eat it. I would have ordered only the chicken if I had to do it again. read more

Used to eat here frequently before then. I was craving for a hearty salad for dinner and decided to give a try. I accidentally called the Brea location but I was able to place an order at the Irvine location. This was HUGE plus for me. Most of business do not do this. I was happy I didn't have to make another call. The BBQ salad I got was still tasty. There were no breadstick. I thought one or two would come with a salad. I thought there used to be BBQ dressing with the salad along with ranch dressing. It was only ranch dressing. Maybe things have changed. The salad was yummy and pretty filling with beans, corns, tomatoes, carrots, red cabbage and of course protein- Tri tip. I would definitely go back! It is very disappointing and I am so dissatisfied with my recent order from this location. I usually visit the fountain valley location. This time I order for my husbands birthday this was one of his favorite place to eat. Portions are generous large and the flavor it's pleasant to the palate. However as I was opening up my containers at home came to a disgusting surprise to find a piece of a nail in my mashed potatoes. A gross nail with dirt !!!!! As I called the restaurant and asked to speak with management I was still in disbelief I was told this was a roasted garlic mmm really that's a dirty nail!!!! In my food unless you want hepatitis A some fecal oral disease have fun at it but not at the expense of my health. I was in shock and thinking what about the rest of my food. I spent $150 in just this dinner. When management response was "what would you like me to do?" I suggested how about speaking to your crew/employees?! Handling food safely and come from management to offer a refund and make it right?! They refunded the one side but they were not taking my word for it. A couple of days later I came in and brought the disgusting piece of nail I had found and whoever was there as manager literally said "yes that's a nail I know whose this is!" The breadsticks were also absolutely phenomenal... they definitely beat any other ones I've tried. Millie took my order was super sweet and helpful and walked me through the best options to get the most out of my money and feed my entire family. I couldn't decide and had to go with 2 items, which later became my dinner as well. The Pesto Chicken Sandwich is very good, but a lot of bread. The bread could be thinner for sure. The side of Cauliflower salad was delicious. The order of Mac & Cheese came with a breadstick. Both were worth ordering and well worth the calories. No guilt at all! Ordering is very easy. Two large cheese pizzas with pepperoni, sausage and mushrooms for $36 but the delivery from DoorDash added another $13 OUCH. I hate delivery services. With tax and tip, it was about $60 for two pizzas. Pizza itself was tasty, good with a good amount of toppings. I like Stonefire's pizza. I will never order delivery again though. Rare)- Meat was tasty and very tender *wish it would have come with some BBQ sauce Chicken with lemon garlic - chicken was moist - not dry at all - and you better like garlic because there's a lot! Some pieces tasted a bit sour to me, but my hubby didn't notice it. *BBQ sauce would have been good with this Bread sticks - just ok - seemed kinda just like dense pizza crust ends Cesar Salad - good - the dressing was good but it's tough to serve on the salad because it's so dense. Not pourable like ranch or other dressings. Mac & Cheese - we didn't care for it - very dry and we don't think it had any cheese. It was just dry pasta. We ended up just throwing the tray away. Garlic mashed potatoes - tasty but really dense! We also ordered a 'Favorite' pizza - just because it's my favorite. So glad we did a little sampling! I don't think SFG will be a good choice for our party. We have a SFG near my office in Fountain Valley and it was a favorite lunch spot - but one of my boys pointed out that SFG can be hit or miss. Stonefire Grill has been one of my go-to restaurants for a fast, cheap, and filling meal, but not anymore. I came on 9/22 at 6pm and ordered a Petite South of the Border Salad with mushrooms and cheddar instead of cilantro and feta. I later added on 1 Breadstick because they looked too good to resist! My salad took a while to come, but luckily it looked great when it arrived! The portion was pretty large and had a generous serving of different veggies, tri tip, and cheese. As always, the breadstick was so delicious! I really enjoyed my meal and was excited to upgrade Stonefire from 4 stars to 5 stars. HOWEVER, about 2.5 hours after my meal, I started getting really bad stomach pain, so much so that I almost pulled over on the freeway because I wanted to curl up in a ball :( Let's just say I had really bad food poisoning for the rest of the night and early morning the next day. My food poisoning was for sure caused by Stonefire because I didn't eat anything else that day after 1pm and only drank water. I honestly don't know if the veggies weren't washed properly, cheese was expired, or cross contamination had occurred? But something very clearly was off about that salad that destroyed my stomach and kept me in the bathroom for a long time... I'm pretty sure it wasn't the breadstick because most tables were eating those. The next day, 9/23, I called the restaurant and spoke to the store manager. I told him what I had ordered, as well as the symptoms of my food poisoning. He told me the he would be letting the Corporate HQ know, and they would be reaching out to me shortly to ask me more questions, and offer me a refund + gift card. By 9/25, no one from Corporate HQ had called me, so I sent feedback on the online form on the Stonefire website, hoping that would be faster. Unfortunately, it's now 10/1, and no one has called or emailed me. I can see that they respond quickly to Yelp reviews, so hopefully this is a better outlet for the company to rectify the situation. All of my previous visits have been 4 or 5 stars at both the Irvine and Lakewood locations. I've had many of the other dishes at Stonefire Grill before (look at my previous 4 star review), such as the tri tip, breadsticks, pizza, etc. This was my first time getting the South of the Border Salad but I'm never coming back. It was honestly such a terrible experience, both due to the food poisoning and the fact that the company has not done anything to remedy the situation. You would think that with a food poisoning situation as serious as mine, the company would quickly reach out via call or email to fix the situation and keep me as a customer. read more

Came here from lunch the Sunday after Thanksgiving. Most of the restaurants in the food court had a short line, but nobody was waiting at Stonefire. I usually take that as a bad sign but decided the food they offered was our best choice for a late lunch/early dinner. Service was on par with what you expect from a quick-service restaurant. Pleasant enough but more efficient than friendly. We ordered our food, then went to find a place to sit in the vast dining area. They didn't give us a number or anything so I waited for the food after dropping our drinks and chips at the table. By that time, I could see the sandwiches in the oven. Before I knew it, they were wrapped and ready to be picked up. We were still the only customers so it was easy to tell it was my order. The food was excellent! I love hot sandwiches and this place didn't disappoint. The cheese was melted just enough it was still one piece, but a bit bubbly throughout. It was almost too much food for what we wanted. Now that we've discovered this place, we'll definitely be back during our occasional trip to Fashion Island. read more

The tables were all sticky and we used our own wipes and the wipes were black. It was weird because we came around opening and no one was at the restaurant. However, the staff here are super friendly and checked up on us! I love their pesto pasta- it is SO GOOD. My husband enjoyed his BBQ tri tip and ribs. Their ceasar salad was very garlic-y (and yummy) and my husband likes their breadsticks more than Olive Garden, Pat & Oscar's, and Pizza Hut. I'd get the pesto pasta again! I had the Superfood Fiesta Bowl and it was great. There was so much food that I ended up taking some home. My friends did not enjoy their meal as much as I did. Their beans lacked flavor and the Mac and cheese was dry so they had to send it back to the kitchen. The order came and several items were missing. The person dealing with us was new and confused, which happens sometimes when you are learning things. Someone stepped in and gave my friends free carrot cake because of the issues.
