Co-workers had decided on this restaurant for a birthday lunch. I had never heard of this place until then and didn't really get a chance to check out the menu before hand. When we arrived, around 11am, it wasn't crowded at all. We were able to find seating for our 10+ party fairly quickly. We had ordered "Crown Pleaser" style plates of the Tri Tip and Chicken Breast. Large orders of the Cesar Salad, Cobb Salad, and another salad I'm not too sure if it's still posted but had cranberries in it. Also a large order of Pesto pasta and a few orders of breadsticks. Our food arrived quickly considering we ordered a lot of food. Through our time there I noticed we had went at the perfect time because the restaurant had filled up quick! Obviously a popular lunch spot in this area. The food was amazing. My favorite was the tri tip(so juicy!) and the pesto pasta. It does seem a little pricy but the flavors are well worth it. Pros: Lots of options, artful decor, spacious area for dining, excellent food presentation, quick and organized service. Cons: Non-customer centric disposition, bland version of Italian food, crowded parking lot. I witnessed someone in my party ask for four bread sticks since they ordered for two people (lunch specials come with a pair) and the immediate reaction of the attendant was, "Why do you feel you should have four, it only comes with two?) Been a loyal customer since they opened. Use to love their BBQ Tri Tip Chopped Salad. Even had them cater a Graduation party. The last two times we ordered the salad to go, it has not been the same. Two orders ago we ordered an extra portion of Tri Tip for a medium size salad and received about 8 small pieces of Tri Tip. Yesterday we ordered the same salad but without extra Tri Tip and got about 5 small pieces. They use to provide about 150% or more BBQ Tri Tip with a regular medium order. Also the salad was lacking several of the normal ingredients. The salad was mostly lettuce, shredded carrots and black beans. The normal ranch dressing was instead a pinkish spicy dressing that was not enjoyable. read more

Food here is delicious! More than anything, I believe the right choice of word for me is comforting. I have not had the chance to dine in since most of the past experience has been through take out. My company would actually have them cater to our parties and events. On a random Wednesday, I figured this would be a good option for the the family and their neighbors. I ordered the family package which includes a full rack of ribs, beef brisket (half garlic, half bbq), cartwheel salad, two box of bread sticks, roasted cauliflowers, and a large 2 topping pizza. It also came with extra bbq sauce, pesto sauce, and ranch. This easily fed 6 adults and 4 kids. We even had left overs! Breakdown: The ribs were decent. Meat came off the bone for the most part and tasted just fine. With the sauce, its ok. Brisket is good on the other hand. You can tell them to make it two ways instead of having it all bbq or garlic. Its tender and flavored well. Again, the sauce comes in handy when you want that extra kick of flavor. Garlic breadstick is pretty good. We had two boxes and it disappeared like a hot tray of cookies fresh out of the oven. Think next time, I'm going to get three box just so we can slow down and not have to rush as if it was the quarterback. Pizza is great too. Because we have kids, they tend to only eat cheese pizzas. Always love it when pizza places does half and half on the pie. This made it easy to satisfy everyones wants at the table. Salad was also delicious. Love the variety of greens in the cartwheel. It had beets, garbanzo beans, various greens, tomatoes, and two bags of tortilla chips for the crunch factor. Roasted cauliflower is something else. Man it was good! Its a new item on their menu and it was a great choice for something different. Overall, dinner was a hit! Family loved the selections and cleaning was minimal since they gave us utensils. Meat salad...need I say more? Any time I can get beef on a salad is a good lunch day. Their tri tip is pretty respectable, and topped on a petite (not so petite) bbq chopped or south of the border salad paired with a garlic buttery breadstick for like $8 bucks is an awesome deal. I came in about a week with a couple of friends who had never been before. Upon entering the store I notice there is one brownie left, we get to register and I order the last one. Cashier notifies us that the brownie had already been sold. (3rd time this has happened to me) I say ok and continue to order our food. Lemon garlic chicken meal but this time I ask if I could have a side of extra chicken for myself. Cashier proceeds to ring that up. Total ends up being 45 something which is like $15 what we usually pay. My boyfriend and I kind of laugh at the price of a side of chicken. We get to our table, food gets there and the "side of chicken" is a full on entree order of bone in chicken! I instantly ask if this is for real and if I could just take it to go right away since I was not offered a refund, an explanation or an apology. I eat my regular meal then upon exiting the restaurant I see the brownie. (This is about an hr after being there) I ask if someone cancelled the brownie order, I explain I had been here a whole hr and what I was told, and if there was any way we could buy it. Girl looks back at the kitchen and makes us wait, then comes back and says she can sell it to us. She bags the brownie and charges us regular price for the brownie, it's in the bag and we don't notice she gave us half of the brownie until We got to the car. Charged us full price for the half brownie. There was a full brownie in the case( i'm sure kitchen people were claiming it) needless to say my friends who had never been there hated the place and I was very disappointed at the lack of communication that day. read more

The salad was smaller and lots of red cabbage. The tri tip was super chewy and over cooked. My food was also cold. I ordered medium and no pink. What happened? Change in ownership? I've come to this place twice altogether. The service both times were great and the speed from ordering to receiving my meal was appropriate. First time I ordered the stimulus package with tri-tip, caesar salad and bread sticks. The salad itself was a typical ceasar salad with no qualms over it or anything to rave about. What did it for me was the tri-tip and breaksticks, both were delicious and the meat was cooked perfectly. Came here for lunch another time and ordered the Grilled Chicken Pesto Sandwich. It comes in a roll with pesto, mozzarella cheese, tomato greens, caramelized onions, and chicken. As first timers we had great expectations but they just didn't match up. To start, we had no idea that you order at the counter even after telling the host that it was our first time there, waiting for a table, and then sitting at the table wondering where our server was. When we figured out we had to actually order at the front and it wasn't just for to-go orders the host guy laughed and said "You've been waiting for a server the whole time?!" And I said, YOU NEVER EXPLAINED where we order. We thought you wait for a table like a normal restaurant and then order. He kept laughing. We ordered tri-tip but sent it back because it was cold (like refrigerator, not room temp) and unchewable. They did replace it and it was better. We heard great things about the Mac and Cheese so ordered that but it came dry and not even the kids wanted to eat it. I stopped a server and asked if we could get more sauce on it. Her response indicated they must get this complaint a lot and she snapped at me with: "There is no sauce on the Mac and cheese. It's literally made with milk and cheese. No sauce." She walked away. My husband and I just stared at each other in shock at her response, and dumbfounded that she doesn't consider milk and cheese to be a "sauce." We paid a lot of money for this food and can't imagine doing it again. Two stars for at least the second tri tip being good and a good pizza. read more

A belligerent young woman finally delivered my order. She had attitude and made a sarcastic comment when she placed the order in my car behind me. We love this place but yesterday we ordered dinner for pick up and it was and hour late being ready. I asked multiple time for staff to check on order and finally the staff said " sorry I forgot your order." So we didn't get our food until 3hours past order was called and 1 hour past being told it was ready. I'll be going elsewhere next time. read more

This location has been consistently going down hill, especially over the last year. The last straw for me today was waiting over 25 minutes for a single to-go order and having the manager act like a child. AJ is his name and one would be shocked to learn that this guy has somehow become the manager of anything let alone a restaurant. One of the cardinal rules of food service is to NOT keep telling the customer ad nauseum that their food is "almost done" or "just a minute" when in reality that's not the case. When I finally get my food I tell AJ that this is unacceptable and all he can muster to say to me is that "we had to make new breadsticks the other ones were stale." That's it. That's all he's got. So apparently, breadsticks which are basically adjoined to every order, run stale here and they aren't on top of it enough to make a decent supply. And should you find this bothersome they couldn't care less. I'll spend my hard earned money elsewhere. EDIT: Look at the response from the business...basically they say hey sorry we had a big order so you're just going to have to suffer. Let me tell you, first of all this place was not busy...when I say it wasn't busy I mean not only were there almost no patrons, but the staff including the kitchen staff was literally standing around. Secondly, which is it? What sort of business are you? Are you a caterer or a restaurant? Seems to me, per your own response that in order to be one the other suffers. That's not how you do business. Now look, I get it, people don't have the same standards as they did say 20 even 10 years ago so it probably won't have a huge impact on your bottom line. But if you're only looking to enhance your bottom line then I shouldn't be doing business with you in the first place. read more

We love going to this place almost every Friday with my 84-year-old client and we love the salmon in lemon garlic butter dinner there. The staff are great esp AJ who is always accommodating and all-smiles and happy to serve and makes sure that we got what we ordered. It's not a perfect restaurant but it's easy to go in and out, people are friendly and so far so good. I gave it a 5 star for overall experience that we have had and we will keep on coming back to this place just because I can get my client eat some healthy stuff like salmon instead of burgers and fried foods all the time. Might not be the cozy quiet restaurant but it's fun and it's ok! Prices are pretty reasonable and other food like beef tritip and chicken are all delish plus the pastas, pizzas and salads. We just happened to stick with Salmon dinner for now. Hope this helps for others in deciding where to dine. read more

Pleasantly surprised! Food: Excellent. I had tri tip cooked medium rare with a 1/2 rack of ribs. Excellent and tender!! Also had the 1/2 pesto 1/2 tomato sauce penne pasta. Perfect!! Penne pasta was cooked al dente ... not bad. Service: Spectacular. Every staff was extremely friendly. Service was like a sit down restaurant but casual dining environment. For years we have enjoyed our meals at this Stonefire. Until tonight I ordered takeout brought it home and was extremely disappointed. We had our usual Caesar salad, pasta & breadsticks which were as yummy as ever. But tonight we also decided to try something we'd never tried on your menu before, your Pork Ribs. To my sadness they were inedible! I went to cut them into portions and when I couldn't get a knife through them I knew they weren't cooked properly Tough is a Magnificent Understatement! I can not rave enough about their pesto pasta and their breadsticks, but my most recent experience with Stone Fire was awful. We recently catered from here the other day for a family gathering. I insisted that we catered from Stone Fire Grill instead of ordering asian food like we always do. I ensured my family that catering from stonefire grill would be the easiest and best option to introduce our other relatives to American dishes. We did the crowd pleaser for +20 and the tri tip was extremely dry. I can not emphasize how frustrated I was. I wouldn't even feed the tri tip to my dog, it was that bad and dry. In addition, the amount of sides they gave us could only feed around 8 people, nothing close to 20. My family members wouldn't stop complaining about the tri tip and I don't think they would allow me to be in charge of catering ever again. All I can say is that I will not be catering again, unless they prove that their tri tip is edible and stop lying about their portions in the description. I would've given this a one star, but I decided to give it another star because their breadsticks lived up to my expectations. I'm truly hoping that they try to maximize their quality even for bulk orders because my friends claim that their tri tip is actually delicious (contrary to my experience). read more

I come here frequently for family meals, I love the consistency of this particular location. I have visited two other locations a couple of times and would drive a little more to come to this one for their consistency. We usually get the ribs and barbecue trip tip, is always cook to perfection. The sauce is always light on the meat and you can get more on the side which I love so everyone in the family can add it to their taste. The meat falls apart on the ribs, makes easy to feed the kids. One of my sons always gets the salmon, delicious but a small portion, I think out of everything they serve this is the only protein that's a small portion. The garlic chicken breast is delicious, tons of garlic, most and super yummy lemon flavor. The salads are always great for sharing and always taste fresh. The Mac and cheese is a little thick and I wish it was a little softer but my kids love it. The service is always friendly here too. read more

First, great price for great portion. A small sized pasta is about 7 bucks and can feed at least 2 people. A small Caesar salad is around the same price but please don't order more than one for your whole table. I made this mistake and ended up taking home almost two to-go box full of salad. The pasta could be better, it's more commercial than home-style. However, the carrot cake is literally to-die-for. I need this recipe lol. I went to Stonefire Grill for dinner this evening. Was soooo not impressed! Soon after our salads were brought to our table, our main dishes were brought as well. The meat was tepid at that point, so I asked for mine to be heated and, of course, when it was brought back it was no longer medium, but rather well done. The chicken tasted as flavorless as tofu. To top my evening off the food gave me quite a lot of gas. I do not plan on ever going back. At least I didn't get food poisoning like the last time I ate at Urban Plates. Save your money for a better real restaurant where your food is prepared for you and comes piping hot rather than building up on bacteria load. read more

This was my first time here, and I have to say that it was just okay. I was contemplating between a salad or pasta, but I decided to go for the pasta in the end. Went with the petite tomesto (the waitress said this is one of their best), and the boyfriend went for the tritip. The food doesn't come out all at once, which I thought was weird. My group wanted to wait until my pasta came out to eat, but then their food would have been cold, so I encouraged them to start eating. My dish came out last out of the 4 of us who went, which is interesting, because pasta usually is pretty quick to make, no? The boyfriend's tri tip was pretty good. There were two different sides of tri tip for some reason (two different cuts perhaps?). One side was DEFINITELY much better than the other side...which I believe we attributed to the meat on the other side being cooked too long (he ordered medium rare...the tri tip came out medium to almost well done). Dipped those pieces in BBQ sauce, and it turned out okay. Garlic mash was pretty good too. The tomesto was decent, but not much to speak of (which is worrisome considering it came recommended). I preferred the pesto to the red sauce, but after a while the pesto also overpowered my taste buds. I honestly would forego the pasta in favor of something else if we ever came back.
