Our online order from Stonefire Grill was correct and on time They were not prepared with take out plates and silverware. We were asked to wait at the back of the line, while they helped other customers, so they could find plates and silverware for us. We left. I was not going to the back of the line and allow them to ignore me. The chicken was under cooked, It was blood red from the bone and into the meat. Ribs were overcooked and dry. Went here for the first time last week. I heard good things about the food except for "that's the place with the $20 salads." Met a friend for lunch, ordered salads. We waited twenty minutes and still didn't have our food. We asked about our food, it was found, and we were offered a free slice of cake. That was great. We chose our cake, and carried on with our lunch. We wait and wait and wait some more for the slice of cake. We have to find someone again. Finally we get our cake and (I think she was the manager) our bill was comped because of the trouble. Not sure I'll go back. read more

So, where do I begin. The Tritip is good but tends to be dry. The pulled pork is OK, nothing to write home about. The chicken is just plain vile. It is over-cooked to the point of being mushy and mealy in your mouth. Breast meat is dry...like the Sahara. The rolls are ok, the coleslaw is nasty...even the Colonel beats it and that is saying a lot. I will not eat this food, period. Nor will I eat the garbage that comes from is twin..Woodranch or Woodraunch as I call it. There is a lot better BBQ out there folks. This junk is even worse that Dickie's. Blech! read more

Gave them 5 stars because they were all round a good restaurant! Friendly, quick service, prices were reasonable, great food and clean and fun atmosphere. Don't listen to the radio! Husband wanted to stop here because the radio raved about it. Just horrible food. Doesn't have any taste to any of their food. We had the chicken breast, tri tip, salmon. And all gross. Took one bite of each and gave to husband to finish mine and his plates. The chicken didn't even look like real chicken. The salad was plain with again no taste to it. Had to get extra ranch to try and get it down. The breadsticks might look good, but again no taste. If there was some parmesean cheese on it, would make it at least better. Just gross. I usually don't write reviews but had to. Yelp has helped me a lot looking for great food and wish I had time to look at this place before coming. I was the one driving. $40 gone. :( read more

Couldn't be more impressed with the service. Eaten here so many times before but this time decided to try something new. When we didn't care for it, our waiter immediately brought over the owner and he graciously gave us a free desert. Great food and fantastic service. We were looking for a good, quick place to eat that wouldn't cost an arm and a leg after spending all day at a cheer competition out of town. Nick helped us with our order and Sammi helped us get our food and containers and bags for all our leftovers. Great meat for carnivores and saliva for those "other people". The portions are always large enough to have something leftover for lunch the next day. Try the carrot cake, it was fantastic and I don't even like carrot cake. read more

Well I'll start this out by saying I really like stone fire's food. Today I went there with a friend to get take out, I ordered my food, a BBQ chicken wrap and a TRI tip salad both small size, before her. She received her food before I did mine, so I sat there for a few minutes hoping that they would call my name to give me my order, after they gave 3 to 4 other people their orders I finally went to ask if my order was ready, the young man who helped me was very nice, he asked my name looked for my food came back to me said he's still looking, then went over to the wall with the cubicles I guess they are called and it had been sitting in one of those, for how long I don't know. I got home and opened my salad the TRI tip, and there is barely any meat and then started eating and most of the meat is all chewy fat. Did not enjoy my meal at all because of the chewy fatty meat. I have always liked this place but if the meat is going to be chewy and the service on the slow side, I don't know if I will eat here again any time soon. This place is my #1 choice for catering. I've been ordering "The Works" a couple times a year for the past 5+ years. The food has never disappointed. I've tried everything on their menu and I've enjoyed it all. I understand the kitchen and staff for takeout is crazy busy but this is where I've encountered problems, one too many. Once, Mary Beth put me on hold 4-5 times and kept forgetting she had already talked to me so she kept asking me for my order. As soon as I would start talking, she would put me back on hold without warning. I asked to speak to a manager after she told me it would cost me an additional $45 (yes, $45!!!!) to add a salad to my $179.99 order. She put me back on hold only to ask me for my order again. It was very frustrating. My husband ended up going to the restaurant, ordering the food, and bringing it back home before she answered my call again. I wanted to speak to the manager but ended up hanging up because I had to set up the food my husband returned home with. I don't entirely blame Mary Beth for the frustrating experience. This was our first, and more than likely, last time at the actual restaurant. Prior to this, I've only ever had catered Stonefire lunches at work. I'd grade the food about a C+. We walked in and told the hostess that we were a party of 2. I told her it was our first visit and she told us that we were to order our meal with her and that we could sit wherever we liked. Long story short - we ordered at the front podium, got our own silverware, got our own soda (in cheap, plastic cups), got our own bbq sauce, seated ourselves at a booth and waited for our food to be delivered. I began to wonder if we had wandered into a Carl's, Jr. by accident. Our food was delivered pretty quickly - I had a chopped bbq chicken salad (with about a quarter of a chicken breast). It was just OK - the ranch dressing was bland, but the portion was decent. $10.99 for a "small". Included were 2 soft garlic breadsticks. My husband got the quarter chicken (a very small leg quarter, untrimmed) and medium rare tri-tip combo "full dinner" which included 1 - that's ONE - side dish. My husband got the mashed potatoes which, he said, tasted like a restaurant quality instant mash. No salad, no breadsticks, just a very large portion of potatoes - enough starch to fill you up. The tri-tip was rare, not medium-rare. $12.99 Also, the meat was served on a medium-sized, old, scratched-up pizza pan. There were, however, stacks of dishes where we got our silverware. I'm now wondering if perhaps we were supposed to take our own plates and serve our meals onto dishes ourselves. Why not? Everything else was "self-serve" We happened to be sitting next to a shelf with the to-go boxes, so I packed up my leftover salad myself. Oh, and BTW, the so-called "server" never came back, even once, to see if everything was OK. Needless to say, we did not leave a tip - for what? To seat myself, set my own table, pour my own drink and pack up my own doggie bag? We actually went there on a $25 gift card, so the whole meal cost us $6. it was worth... $6.00. read more

What happened to StoneFire?? We use to love this place. Last year ago I wrote a 5 star review it was so great! We went back a one time shortly after that, but things were not as great. I didn't write a review because I thought OK something is up, maybe the "well oiled machine" was missing some oil!! My son ordered a to go order and we're so unhappy, with the food. So, we hadn't gone back.I was hesitant on going back again but we did tonight. We ordered our usual the Stimulis package with the tri tip. Everything came at the same time, the pizza, the salad, the tri tip and the bread. My husband started with the pizza. I started with the tri tip.... well the meat was cold and the au jus was colder. We sent it back and 15 minutes went by and still no tri tip. I went to fine the manager and she went to look and the cook hadn't seen the ticket. So she told me she'll take it to our table. Another 5 minutes and it arrived, warm and with a slight smell to it. It looked like it had been cooked earlier or yesterday. The au jus was luke warm. I can't tell you how disappointed I am with Stonefire.... I will not go back to this location. read more

My company orders from this place when we have company events and such for years. Always a hit! the tri tip is delicious, the chicken is tasty and juicy, the bbq chopped salad amazing, not to mention their garlic mashed potatoes are to die for! So one night, my g/f and I were thinking of where to eat for dinner. I had mentioned, why not stonefire! so we went. I was a bit confused with the setup, walking up, ordering first then being seated. Kinda sucks if you dont know what you want right away, but whatever. So first, we get seated on this table right next to the front near the long line of people coming in, waiting to order and get seated, I DID NOT want to sit there, but it was a friday night, and the place was packed so i just stayed quiet and said, well whatever im hungry so i'll take it. I felt so tight, with other customers just inches from me in line, next to me. So it was very crowded. We had both ordered the chicken and tri tip with a salad that we shared. When we got our food, they forgot the dressing for a salad. So I asked for that. Then when we started eating, my g/f had noticed that her chicken seemed under cooked, there was even a tiny bit of blood on it! so she asked for another. They promptly brought her another piece, which was sad to say, under cooked again! at that point she just ate her tri tip and i shared a little bit of my chicken with her. I dont know what the deal was that night because I cant count how many times this place has been catered to us at the office we have always had a 10+ experience with the food, until the first time i decided to dine in. read more

Our first dine in experience to this place was so disappointing!! Their system of ordering food here is of low intelligence. First time I saw an employee putting reservation written on a piece of paper to tables that just got vacated. They also let their customers with their families and kids line up to order which was the reason why the line reaches out all the way to the parking lot, I just hope nobody gets hurt or gets hit by vehicles on the lot because of this mindless idea!! To all parents, please make sure to hold your kids while waiting outside because it is not safe. My experience here actually annoyed me everytime I remember it. On our first Dine in, we sat on a vacant table not knowing they have been putting reservation notes on the table. While we sat and waited for awhile for my wife. This one employee started putting these reservation papers on the tables and approached me and my kid and told us to vacate the seat because he has reserved the seat for other customers. The disappointing part here was moving us to the next reserved table and had other customer sit on where we were sitting. This was a very stupid move by this employee, Dude!! there were 5 vacant tables but why move us? you could have just let us stay there and had the other customer sit on one of the vacant table?!!! I find this very rude and discriminating to me and my family and I hope this employee realizes it!! We love your food but we hate your service!!!! and please change your system before someone gets hurt on the process. read more

Meh. Food is mediocre, the prices are a bit high, service is ok. Hate the concept - the indoor dining area is loud, the outdoor dining has no ambience. Yes the portions are generous, but that only matters if the food is good. StoneFire's is nothing special, especially for their price range. I've eaten there numerous times not by my choice, and my experience has been consistently as stated above. We have been going to Stonefire for years but we have noticed the quality of food and service had declined. Had the baby back ribs over the Labor Day holiday and it was terrible. Not only is it very dry but tasted like it has been frozen for a while. We had to put quite a bit of BBQ sauce just for us to be able to eat it. We should have complained but the place was packed and we waited a while for our food. Everybody there work so hard and felt it was not the right time to complain. I think Wood Ranch is slowly but surely surpassing them. read more

I agree with the reviewer that wrote it's gone downhill. Of course the owners have been very successful with the business model, but stray off their staple tri-tip and chicken at your own risk. I took out a chicken spinach salad which was sickening. They hadn't cleaned the grill, so the chicken had that awful taste and smell on it. The spinach was dry and limp. Their "favorite" pizza was disappointing, doughy, no crispness in the crust. Last time I sat down there, the food was cold. I actually saw the food waiting to be picked up, then the waiter aimlessly wandered the entire restaurant looking for our number. The owner was not receptive to the suggestion that they could improve the visibility to the waiters of where the customer is seated. read more

I've ordered from here quite a bit and the food is decent. But my latest experience with my take out order makes me want to go elsewhere. I got a 2 tri tip crowd pleaser package and an extra side of mashed potatoes...total of about $80 including tax. My issue came when I asked for some bbq sauce for the two whole tri tips. The cashier/waitress gave me two TINY containers (a little bigger than the McDonald sauce packages) and said that's all she can give. REALLY? I had the pulled pork sandwich. The top piece of bread was dry and the bottom was saturated with barbecue sauce. Needless to say, I couldn't taste the meat because there was too much sauce on it. It was like drinking sauce straight from the bottle. And the cup of beans I had was smaller than my iPhone 5. It's a nice place and their other food looks good. First, let me start by saying the food was fantastic, customer service and a little thing I like to call HONESTY was not present and more than diminished what would have been a great experience. We planned to meet up with some friends at the Valencia restaurant, Crowded, and very busy,(and after having the chicken and tri-tip combo, I can see why, it was delicious) so our three friends were ahead of us in line and placed their order and recieved their order# to place on the table, they explained that WE also were in their party and that we needed seating for 5, and as we were paying seperately, we stepped up next to order and pay, but were told that because of limited seating they could not take our order, we explained, and our party explained that we were together, but we were not allowed to place an order until there was another table.. try as we could, we could not explain that the party before us ( who was now standing beside us) ALREADY had a table for 5, we just needed to order. same answer, so after 15 minutes of our party sitting down with their food,, we were allowed to order.and this is when they really lost my business forever. The cashier took our order which cost 34.00 and change, so I handed her some 20's and as she was handing back $4.00 in change, I realized that I gave her $60.00.. I asked.."Did I give you $60.00 ?" she sheepishly answered yes and she voided out the ticket and resubmitted the info with the correct amount, so that she could re-open the ALREADY closed register.. I said. "weren't you going to say something?", her half hearted attempt at coming clean was pitiful, and one I will not soon forget, she just shrugged and mumbled. I have always loved their salads but have been very frustrated during my last few visits. About three months ago, I found a piece of chicken in my salad after stressing to the gentleman that took my order that I did not want any meat in my salad because I was a vegetarian. I then took it back to the counter where they refunded my money. During my next visit, I got a salad to go and again came home to find a piece of salami in my salad. I called the restaurant from home and the manager offered to send me a gift card refunding my money. We recently went back to use the gift card that was sent to me and after stressing NO MEAT please, guess what I found...yep, salami in my salad. So frustrating! read more

First time we ate here the food was good but, expensive. The second time, and last, the food was terrible. We ordered a tri tip salad, the tri tip was over cooked, chewy and not edible. The special of the day was a turkey sandwich with a side salad. The turkey wasn't edible. I'd take a bite and have to pull the cartilage pieces out of my mouth. Very unappealing especially while eating with others. Of the three of us, only a salad loaded with onion and a wrap was consumed. We really like Stonefire but recently had a frustrating experience with a small catering order. We were ordering for one of our local high school softball teams. I asked the individual at the restaurant if Stonefire offers any support maybe in the way of a discount? He let me know I needed to call the home office and he gave me the phone number. I called the home office and an individual there told me they would have the restaurant manager call me. I never got a call so I called the restaurant directly and spoke to an individual in catering. She told me she's never heard of Stonefire offering any support to the local schools or any other non profit and really didn't recognize any home office. My impression was that she didn't know a home office even existed. So, I called the home office again. This time I was told I needed to make the request with marketing and place the order. If there was any support given, I would be notified when I pick up the order. When my wife went to pick up the order, she noticed no discount was given so she asked the individual behind the counter. Again, she was told he's never heard of Stonefire offering any support to the schools and ultimately there was no discount given. She purchased the food for the softball team and went on her way. I called the home office once again and they apologized that nobody got the message. I'm not sure what happened and I'm not even upset there wasn't a discount or that they don't have a program to support local schools. My frustration is that I got several different answers. It shows a lack of communication an inconsistency. I'll conclude with this. I would absolutely come back to Stonefire on my own but if you're looking to cater for school athletics or for a non profit, and you're looking for support. they may not have a program in place to help. read more
