I dined here this past Saturday night. Service was impeccable and our server (I think his name was John? He was blonde and fairly tall) was very good about refilling our drinks and keeping us updated on our food. Now the food. We have dined here several times before and never had anything bad to say but this time, the food wasn't as good as it was before. I don't know if the chef was new or having an off day but we ordered the same thing we get every time and this time it wasn't as good. I ordered a 16oz prime rib med rare and the steak was 1) cut way too thick, prime rib is only supposed to be cut maybe an inch in thickness whereas this was probably over double that 2) wasn't as juicy and tender as it has been previously. The baked potato was slightly undercooked. It was still pretty good and I ate my food happily, but I'd be remiss if I didn't say anything. read more

Stoney River is consistently delicious! I've been going for years, since it opened at the mall it had been a go to, I recently went and took some pictures and thought I would share the review the food and staff deserve. I will start with the warm little rolls that are slightly sweet with poppy seeds and are served with honey butter, they come out warm and are hard to deny. I have tried a few of the starters - the shrimp on toast is delicious and the salads are great, the dressings taste homemade. My mom and I shared a wedge salad and I almost ruined my appetite because even half of the salad was a large portion! The entrees are always cooked perfectly, I generally order a steak medium rare and I have never had an issue with my steak being over or under cooked. Their sides are the real star of the show, the sweet potato casserole is almost like a dessert, the loaded mashed potatoes are amazing and the other sides are pretty great too. This isn't a cheap meal - most recently my mom and I split a salad, each ordered a steak and shared asparagus, shared a slice of key lime pie and spent $110 before tip. The entrees come with a potato but the other sides are an additional charge. Great date night option and great service! One of my favorites in Annapolis. read more

We come frequently and always have a quality meal!! We made reservations so the wait was brief. And the hostess was pleasant~ This trip I changed it up. Fried shrimp!! I'd suggest it as it was a decent portion and fresh. The breading could ha used a pinch of salt but that's a matter of preference. My dining companion had the ribeye other the crab topping... yum for him. The sweet potatoes casserole is the equivalent of a desert!! Regina was our server and she was a!! Stoney River has been a long time favorite of mine since the opening of this Annapolis location years ago. I recently stopped in for a lunch date and I must say, that this place is still thriving! I miss the original decor of canoes hanging from the ceiling and the "couch style" seating options, but it's still a very nice setting. Just more simple. I used to faithfully order the NY strip, which I loved, but I stopped consuming beef some years back, so now whenever I go, I get to try new things! I also wanna add that at one point, the restaurant had started serving Pepsi products, instead of Coca Cola I almost had to let them go for good... but now, coke is back, so things are definitely looking up! Now, since I've been making my cow free quests to Stoney River, I've tried cold water salmon, meh. The jumbo fried shrimp, okay. And, the bistro chicken which was definitely not a fav. On this last visit I had the crispy chicken sandwich and it was absolutely delicious! It was flavorful, tender and moist, with just the right amount of crisp! The gruyere cheese was the icing on top! I already can't wait to go back and have it again, I definitely found my entree! I also had the French onion soup, which was equally as amazing. My date had the tuna stack, which looks great, but I didn't taste. And the Thai chicken salad, which was also really good. Oh, and the bread and butter is to die for!! The only reason I had to take one star is we saw the GM bounce around from table to table, but whenever she was near our table, she always walked right on by. Now idk, why.. We packed our smiles and we smelled nice... but it's just not a good look to leave your patrons hanging. Especially, when they see you talking to everyone else. Also, I personally think a grilled or rotisserie chicken entree or a crab cake entree/sandwich would be a nice touch on the menu! Stoney River has been a "go to" for me for years. The food is consistent and the service is great. The servers remember you and will always acknowledge you. If you want a simple steak and baked potato that is not crazy priced then Stoney River will accommodate. Unfortunately, the Annapolis mall is on a downward trend because all the anchors are essentially gone. Luckily you don't need to go through the mall to get to Stoney River. This place is AWESOME! I remember going to this restaurant 4 years ago. Came here this past weekend for my sister in law's surprise birthday party. Appetizers were great, we had steak sliders, and shrimp and a house salad. I had a Filet Mignon with mashed potatoes and spinach. Food was delicious. There was a comment that said that the dinner rolls were addictive. They are. My toddler even loved them, so much so we got a batch of them to go. Dessert was key lime pie and a chocolate fudge cake. Whenever I'm visiting Maryland, I'm going to stop by this location again. Very nice establishment and the servers are attentive. This is located in Annapolis Mall. It is a nice restaurant upscale. The steaks are the best that I've had in the area. I went there for a family gathering in a private room and the meal was delicious. I ordered the filet mignon and a side of mashed potatoes with a salad. If someone tells you this food was good, you'd have to question their tastebuds like seriously. Besides the spinach dip (& that tasted like frozen dip from any grocery aisle) this place is horrible. I got the French dip. Steak was definitely not fresh. How are you a steakhouse & your steak taste like it's been under a heat lamp ALL day. My partner got the chicken panko. The service was amazing and it's a modern decor restaurant that has expected prices. That creamed spinach was the life of the party along with the Whiskey Shrimp. The desert was pretty good but I think it was too big and thick. Overall I am coming back and coming back hard. This may sound so fat lol but they had some of the best RANCH DRESSING EVER. Went with high expectations and meal was mediocre. My husbands steak as a medium rare was Cold in the center! I'm not sure if they had someone in training but had to send it back and this has never happened in 34 years of us being together that he's never sent a meal back. We went to Stoney River for a wedding reception. The staff was very accommodating and we truly enjoyed ourselves. The food was delicious. Loved their bread -- it was sweet but not overly sweet. I ordered my steak medium and it came out perfectly cooked. Usually at steakhouses my steak is medium at the edge and medium rare throughout. Theirs was medium all throughout and it was perfect. It has been a while since the last time I visited Stoney River Steakhouse. Usually it happens during the holiday season. My husband and I went to the mall after dropping the car at the nearby shop and took me for a date lunch. We stopped by first at Cheesecake Factory and we had to wait, per the hostess, 20-30 minutes. With the amount of people waiting go get seated I bet that would be more than an hour. So we decided to keep walking and go to a nice and quiet place where we were going to have a better service and better food away from the crowd. We headed to Stoney River. Chris was our server and he did a good job. We had 2 glasses of cabernet wine, very good and for lunch/dinner beside the mini yummy delicious rolls I had the Steak Salad and my husband the Extra Cut Prime Rib, yes does like big and juice steaks. I requested my salad with regular bacon instead of the candied bacon and dressing on the side. It was good. And for dessert we couldn't decide what to choose, it was between the key lime pie, the chocolate fudge cake with vanilla ice cream or triple layered carrot cake. So my husband ordered the chocolate fudge cake with 2 spoon and the carrot cake to go. If we only new how big it was the piece of cake I would of ask only for the dessert and wine and no salad. For the size of the dessert it is worth the price or it is all the way around, any way, still good, really good. Trust me next time I will go only for coffee and dessert or wine and dessert. Came into town for a family function. We were planning to walk the docks in downtown Annapolis. However Mother Nature had other ideas. It is dreary and cold. Rain was the theme of the day. We checked for local places and stumbled upon Stoney River. They were very accommodating and we were able to grab seats in the bar area and social distance. We got the deviled eggs and steak rolls for appetizers and a bowl of French onion soup and lobster bisque for our main course. Our server, Emily, could not have been any more helpful. In town for business so one must go to a steak house one night on a per diem expense. The host and greeters were very pleasant and sassy. I think that's what drawn me in to make a reservation. I've been in a rut, lately. It is funny how you get used to this or that and then it no longer shines with the same luster as it once did. Restaurants are like that for me- unless they are exceptional, I'll tire of them eventually and it might be years before I revisit. So, what's my melancholy? Steakhouses. Or the lack thereof. It isn't that they aren't there, I just didn't know where to find them. Yelp's a great thing, isn't it? Thanks to Yelp I've been eating way better and this is just another example. Walking into the main (non-mall) entrance, you don't get the impression of a chain-anything; the entry way is quaint, sort of like walking into one of those old homes that had a vestibule and then you entered the main hall. It was like that; kind of swag without being too pretentious. All of the staff were put together well; the hostesses were well dressed and greeted us warmly, the servers all seemed energetic and competent. At 12:30pm on a Saturday the place was already partially full, with more coming in every minute it seemed. We were seated in a comfortable booth relatively quickly, almost as soon as we walked in, in fact. I did a check-in while i was there and took a shot of the main dining area across from where we were seated- the seating arrangements could accommodate any number of diners and not just tables and chairs, but couches and tables in front of the fire place in case you wanted a more intimate, more romantic (despite being in the main dining room) experience. The noise level was very acceptable despite the growing number of guests; all in all, the first impression was shaping out to be a great one. Service. As important as the quality of food is to the dining experience. This is an area that Stoney River seems to excel at, if our own server Mikaela was any indication. She came by our table within moments of our being seated and introduced herself, took our drink orders and took off. We had those drinks in but a few minutes, by which time we were more or less ready to order. We ordered the deviled eggs because supposedly, they are sublime. (It's true, they are.) I ordered the Legendary filet, wife ordered the rib eye and we sipped our drinks and took a closer look around. I have to say, it is really nice in there. Salads came first; vibrant colors, crisp ingredients- they make their own dressings, gravies and sauces, apparently. The herb vinaigrette was excellent, and the salad was dressed perfectly; not too much, not too little. When our steaks came out I saw immediately that I was in for a treat. The sear on that filet was expertly done; a good char, almost crispy at the edges, but medium-well throughout the center. I have come to appreciate the taste of a piece of meat for its own sake, so places that overly sauce or season meat usually do so for a reason. It isn't necessary, it isn't done, here. You can taste some seasoning, the garlic butter adds a note to the proceedings but you can taste the meat, the fire that cooked it was hot and fragrant to produce a flavor like that! I ate the whole thing, shamelessly I might add. When I was a kid, we used to go to this swanky restaurant out in Hicksville, NY. Anyone familiar with that area back in the 80s will probably be able to guess which one I'm talking about. It was one of those places you went to when you wanted to eat well in a classy environment with the kind of skilled service that made you feel special. You would of course like to experience that every time you dine out but that's either going to be a costly venture, or simply not possible. I kind of got that feeling here. Unlike some establishments where each table gets a dedicated server, this one seems to subscribe to the all hands on deck style of service where everyone pitches in to get plates to the table, no matter whose table it was. That's actually pretty cool because it allows your main server to see to their other tables while you're being seen to yourself, and doing it without seeming like they're rushing around trying to put out fires (though there were flames galore in the kitchen, that part's supposed to happen). We saw Mikaela several times over the course of the meal, where she'd gauge the level in our glasses before seeing if we needed anything, checked our plates after another server had brought them out, just these little unobtrusive things that make the difference between a good experience and a great one. Then the floor manager, Hunter, came by our table to ask if we needed anything and to see if we were enjoying ourselves. We gushed about Mikaela, appropriately, and he ensured us that we could expect that level of service from any of their servers. I expected no less but liked the reassurance all the same. As far as first impressions go, they hit it out of the park. We're so going back! Like soon, really soon. read more

The place was well-designed with high ceilings, it's a very attractive place. It's hard to make a five-star experience out of a chain restaurant, in general, but this place is a solid four-star. So we were just there this past weekend to celebrate my bf birthday with a couple of friends and made reservations ahead of time. When we got there the table was ready for us and Hunter (our waiter) was very nice and took care of us. As usual we order their Whiskey Shrimp on Country Toast which is DELICIOUS!!! This place is always a hit. I went with family members after a wedding, reservations were quickly observed (we waited about 5-10 minutes). The reservation was for 8pm, but it seems the now close at 8:30 (doesn't make too much sense to me). Our waitress was professional but at times anxious to take our order. Drinks were good, but asked waitress could I get another one with extra alcohol, she responded no, that's how they come (no offering a shot or any other options). I will return but think you all need to do the following: not take reservations 30 minutes before closing, we felt rushed and inform you waitresses about options from the bar. Thanks read more
