I usually order the Koji Ribeye, but this time my husband claimed it first, so I ventured out and ordered the Alaskan Halibut with hash brown crust, orange vinaigrette, and watercress. It was absolutely delicious. My favorite side remains the Roasted Carrots with Leiper's Fork honey and tarragon--they're incredible. We finished with the Carrot Cake. It's less sweet than the version served at another well-known Franklin restaurant, which I actually prefer. The flavors are more nuanced, and the crunchy shredded carrot on top adds the perfect texture. The food was, as always, exceptional. We were fortunate to have Jeff Paul as our server again. He's knowledgeable, attentive, and strikes that perfect balance of being available without ever being intrusive. That said, we've honestly never had anything but excellent service at 1799. Maverick stopped by our table and was warm, engaging, and genuinely interested in making sure every guest had a memorable experience. I came in with a date on Saturday night. I had been once before and the food was really great. He was wanting steak so I thought I would bring him to Stoney. I was VERY unimpressed this time. He order a gin and tonic, and the tonic tasted very flat. So he sent it back. It was the same the second time, but he drank it instead of sending it back again. I had a martini with a bleu cheese stuffed olive. The olive tasted like the cheese had been sitting out all day. Do they not keep their cheese stuffed olives chilled? I ordered a french onion soup as a starter. It was brought out with the salad. Even though I wanted the soup first. Things immediately started to feel rushed. We both ordered our ribeye's rare. It seemed not ten mins later, before I even had the chance to rush through and finish my soup and salad, our meals came. The steaks were extremely overcooked. I assumed that coming to a STEAK house that they would know how to correctly cook a steak. We even waited a few minutes before we cut into them to eat them because we weren't done with our salads. My date sent back his steak, and once again it came out again wrong. No manager re checked to see if we were enjoying it. The steaks were extremely over-seasoned. It was as if they over seasoned on the grill, and then added more salt and pepper on top of the steak before it hit the table. I owned two restaurants for 20 years, but if this is a standard for putting more salt & pepper on top before it hits the table "as a garnish" then this really needs to stop! A good steak from a "high quality" restaurant should not be loaded down with seasoning. I am very disappointed with the quality of the food, especially for the price. I do not like feeling rushed through my meal with courses. It seems Stoney River has many standards that need to change if they want to keep people coming in the door. read more

I had the pleasure of dining at Stoney River - Coolspring on Saturday, March 9, 2024, at 7:00 pm. As a repeat customer, I have always had exceptional experiences at Stoney River in the past. On this particular evening, my family and I made reservations for 7:30 pm to celebrate a family member's birthday. Despite arriving early at 7:00 pm, the staff kindly accommodated us promptly and seated us without delay. Upon being greeted by our server, we placed our drink orders and soon after, our entrees. To kick off the meal, we were served a delightful basket of warm bread rolls accompanied by a side of butter. Each of us ordered an entree and an appetizer, both of which arrived promptly and were presented beautifully. For my appetizer, I savored the jumbo cocktail shrimp, served in a generous portion with plump, juicy shrimp resting on a bed of ice alongside a flavorful cocktail sauce infused with a tantalizing hint of horseradish. The shrimp's sweetness paired perfectly with the tangy sauce, creating a harmonious blend of flavors. Moving on to my main course, I indulged in the NOLA Grilled Shrimp served with a side of green beans. The dish was a culinary delight--succulent shrimp perfectly seasoned, perched atop a bed of flavorful Southern rice and garnished with a delightful mango salsa that offered a perfect balance of sweetness and tanginess. The side of perfectly cooked green beans added a refreshing touch to the dish. Overall, the food at Stoney River never fails to impress with its exquisite flavors and presentation. I've always been a big fan of Stoney River, whether I'm dining in the bar, with my family, or just alone with my GF, I've never had anything but a positive experience. Got some favorites like the prime rib, coffee cured filet, and the cowboy cut ribeye. They are all outstanding. OK, I admit it.... I'm a prime rib junkie, and SR has as good as I've ever had. I've had all the sides at one time or another, enjoyed them all. I always start with the Ahi tuna, and a Wedge, the perfect complement to any meal. Oh yeah, the creme brulee...OMG! I recently visited Stoney River in Cool Springs. I was very impressed when I first walked in. The staff was very friendly. I never had a reservation so it took a little longer. I ordered a salad. I share a Lobster Tail as an appetizer and then I had a Coffee Flavored Ribeye. The food was delicious. The service was 1st class. I would recommend this place to anyone who wants high quality food. I had called four times now to pay the bill for them. What hotel can't transfer you from front desk to dining? I was told dining is busy, we will walk over and ask only to now never hear from them once over 6 hours. It's a good restaurant, it's not return a call restaurant. And this may be more Southall and the litany of problems they have and less the restaurant but severely disappointed I couldn't take care of people and too extra because you're too busy. It's a small hotel in the middle of nowhere.
