My partner and I have been coming here since they opened last year. The first time I was amazing but we have been increasingly disappointed every time we come back. Pros: are that that wait staff are great and very kind. Also the cocktails are amazing and it's one of the main reasons we keep coming back. Cons: we've consistently gotten cold chewy noodles. They first time it happened I asked for them to warm it up (I never return food) and they said they had a bad batch of noodles so we just went without. The second time we had the squid ink pasta which has amazing flavor, but again the noodles were cold and chewy. We hadn't gone back there for a while until we went for brunch this last weekend. Again most dishes were cold, the eggs were over cooked, and the soup I had was flavorless. We really want to like this place but have been let down a lot :( 3 stars because I love the drinks and people who work there! read more

Storia Cucina was very good! Our waitress was very nice, we had a nice spot outside that had personal fire pits that you could control, and very well done pasta. I got the lumache pomodoro, and the ricotta on top of it was soooo good! It was solid Italian food with a good vibe! read more

The food was amazing. I had the bolognase and the homemade pasta will make you forget about anything else. The meat sauce was pork and beef with their house made marinara, and the flavors were spectacular and fresh. The waitress was super sweet and knew the menu incredibly well. The kitchen is open air, so you can watch it all go down. She explained their mozzarella is fresh made in house. The whey from that process is used in their risotto, which was also amazing. My daughter had the margherita pizza made with their sour dough start and finished in wood fire oven. The place gets busy quick so get there early. They also have a happy hour menu! The food here is Fantastic! They have my favorite pizza in the county. Great Atmosphere in the restaurant. The service, however, has been constantly poor with to-go orders. I was in on Saturday night (9-30) to pick up an order that I had placed online. It took me 10 min to speak to the hostess. It seemed walking up to that place was busy. Once I got inside, I saw that it wasn't busy at all. There were six empty tables, and most of the people in line were getting to-go orders. The hostess would take 5 min between each customer and disappear for 5 min in the back. When I finally got up, my order was not even ready, even though online it said it would be ready. The hostess forgot my order twice, and both times, she disappeared into the back for 10 min. She finally said my pizza would be ready in 5 minutes after I had to ask her directly. At that point, my baby was crying in the car, and I had to go. This situation has happened three different times. The food is great, the restaurant is great, but the service needs improvement. read more

The staff was all really friendly, we loved the outdoor seating with individual fireplaces at each table, and the food was amazing!! My kids said it was the best pizza they've ever had! Storia Cucina is a great addition to the downtown scene, especially with their outdoor seating. I have now been there twice and both times were great! The first time I had the pizza special and a side salad. The pizza was one of the best I've had in Bellingham. It was a light pizza and I easily shared with a friend. The second time we went we sampled the happy hour menu. Again, it did not disappoint. We shared the arancini and the margarita pizza. Both were delicious. The arancini, although fried, were light and had a great flavor. The pizza was also excellent. read more

Went here for a celebration dinner. Told the wait would be 45 minutes only for the app they use to alert you to tell me that I would be waiting 1 1/2 hours. Luckily the arts district is perfect for a stroll. When we were finally seated, the food was served fast and the meatball appetiser was delicious! For entrees we got the squid ink pasta and parpadelle bolognese, both were good but not really worth the price point. The noodles of the parpadelle were sometimes stuck together (making the points of connection undercooked) and the squid ink pasta was very overpowered with clam flavor. The ambiance is well-crafted. The music and art usually align very well and the cute photos of the young girl eating pasta are apparently photos of the owners daughter (although you can't always trust what you hear by word of mouth). read more

We were on vacation, staying in Bellingham to head to North Cascades the next day. We went here on a lark. Cocktails were excellent and unusual. Brussels sprouts were amazing, and yes, they're fried, as noted on the menu. The pancetta in my risotto? Crispy on the outside, chewy on the inside and was fabulous. Fatty? Certainly. Salty? Yes. It's Italian bacon. On top of rice that has parm stirred into it. The gelato with olive oil was also fantastic, as was the gelato sandwich. Service? Spot on. Go to this place. Holy Macaroni..... This place is the best of the best for Italian food. We ordered the Arancini. After one bite if I had not known any better I would have thought I just went into a little deli off of San Marco Square watching the pigeons. We then both enjoyed the cacio e pepe; mine with pancetta hers without. Nice portions of the meaty homemade pasta. My only recommendation would be to offer pasta carbonara every day of the week and fresh cannoli's. Congrats to the chef and owner. I'll be back again again. Husband and I are visiting from San Diego .. and cousin recommended this place .. we were very pleased with the ambiance and the service and the food .. we ordered the margarita pizza with sausage and it was excellent.. and the kale salad .. it was also so good !! Love the dressing .. and the taste of lemon !! Only the croutons were chewy .. we orderer the lumachi pasta .. we could have skipped this ... wasn't our thing .. but all in all we were very impressed and would definitely eat here again when we come back to visit relatives !! read more

Love this place, particularly on a warm afternoon outside where noise of the inside is greatly reduced to intimacy. Margherita pizza is always good, as is the terrific arancini (rice balls done with chili and marinara sauce and sprinkled with cheese). Sampled meatballs and cacio e pepe with buccatini. All the drinks served here are special, but I chose an Italian 75, a limoncello, prosecco drink which was perfect for the weather. With dinner, an Italian chardonnay, also lovely. Wonderful service by our waitress Emily who seems to know almost anything I asked about. I have tried other dishes here and all seem genuinely Italian, not heavy as so many pizza restaurants tend to be. Always ready to return here for a great meal. read more

I was craving tiramisu, so I headed here. Holy this did not disappoint. It was SO good. It was close to closing time but the lovely bartender didn't even blink, even when three other tables walked in right at closing. We were all served and with amazing customer service. I wish I could remember her name because she was awesome, she had short dark hair and works brunches as well. I was so excited to walk by today and see the door to Storia Cucina wide open and the sounds lovely 1960's classic music playing. The interior is more than I could have imagined; Warm yellow accents, beautiful prints and murals, and a bar to impress any visitor. Their carry-out menu is tailored to support current COVID guidelines including take-home pasta and Negroni/Aperol Spritz kits! Thankful for the veg/vegan menu items. Matthew, the owner and chef, was gracious and friendly, and made us the best pizza I've had in Bellingham. Perfect, brick-oven crust, rich marinara, thinly sliced garlic and fried herbs; perfection with a price for any budget. I'm so excited to sit and enjoy the gorgeous interiors and fare they have created for this community after we all make it to a safer, healthier day, but for now I'm grateful to have found my new favorite bar/restaurant.
