Half Rueben with apple broccoli slaw.
    Jennifer N.

Love this neat little nook!!! A bookshop and lovely little restaurant all in one! It's like a dream come true! Such a beautiful environment with a bookshelf wall complete with rolling ladder! And if that wasn't enough, the food is great! Fresh squeezed lemonade! Not too sweet, not too tart. The most perfect lemonade I've had since I was a kid. I had a half Rueben and apple broccoli slaw and I would have it again! And again! The sandwich was loaded up and delicious on grilled marble rye. The corned beef was better than I can get in Dallas. The Apple broccoli slaw so good! AND THEY HAVE HOMEMADE BUTTERMILK PIE!!!! It may the best I've ever tasted. The food here took me back to better times. Truly like grandma, or for me, Nana used to make. The food, the dessert, the friendly coziness. If you're in Glen Rose you have to visit this little gem of a place!

04/2025 My wife and I came in for the first time for lunch on a Friday afternoon, around 12 PM, during our visit to Glen Rose. The Cafe was fairly busy, but there was plenty of seating available. The Cafe is spacious and it seems to be good for small and larger parties. The set-up is great, especially if you're a book-lover. The walls are filled with shelves of all types of books and there's a lot of creative, book-related decor throughout. There is a small parking lot, but also know it's a couple of minutes walking from GR's downtown area, an easy and quick stroll if you want to park somewhere there. When we sat down we were greeted promptly and our waitress was very attentive and kind throughout our meal. There's definitely a culture of hospitality here that we felt and loved. To eat, I ordered the Sarah, grilled, which included:Turkey, Bacon, Cheese, and Avocado, on Wheatberry bread. I had "Brewed Peach Tea" to drink. The sandwich was DELICIOUS and I love that it was full and fat. They have a variety of other sandwich options that also sound so appetizing. The sandwich comes with a side of chips of your choice. The iced tea was also great, perfect on a warmer day. Overall a great experience and I highly recommend it. Their hours go into the early afternoon only so be aware of that. Can't wait to come back!!!!

What a fun and eclectic spot in Glen Rose. I ordered off the secret menu and chose the jalapeño popper grilled cheese. My husband ordered the club. Both of us got BBQ chips. The service was friendly and the bookstore element made lunch super cozy!

The best sandwich after a long hike at the state park. Super friendly, small town place and was very welcoming. Cutest book store vibes, will be returning.

I've been going to Storiebook cafe with my mom in Glen rose for a while now and their sandwiches are always on point! I still have things I want to try there but the sandwiches I typically get with seasonal fruit always hits the spot. I LOVE the ambiance here. I love the library and book cafe vibes here along with the seasonal decor they have throughout the year. They play oldie 50's music which is so great and I love also. The service is always good here and the ladies are attentive and friendly. I love that me, my mom, and sometimes my grandma can just relax by playing card games or board games, or reading. I highly recommend here and so many other local places in Glen Rose Tx!

What the What!? Iced coffee goodness!
    Corey L.

What the What!? Coffee never looked so good! Don't get me started on the taste! Oh my oh my; it taste better than it looks! By the by, this place actually freezes decaffeinated coffee to make their ice cubes so if you are a slow sipper the ice doesn't water down the goodness! Excellent, outstanding, and all my Kudos to job well done! Wish I lived here so I could partake in this on a weekly basis! Ask for JeNNifer with 2 N's She served me Well!

Absolutely Outstanding Dining on the Square - Christina's Never Disappoints!…read moreChristina's has become one of our absolute favorite restaurants in Granbury. The location right on the square is perfect, and the ambiance is warm and inviting, ideal for a special night out or a celebratory dinner. The food is consistently excellent. The Chilean sea bass is a standout, perfectly cooked every time. The seared scallops are wonderful, with a beautiful crust and tender inside. I've had the salmon multiple times and it's always nicely seared on the outside and wonderfully tender and flaky. For appetizers, the pear & Brie crostini is a must-order sweet, savory, and absolutely delicious. Yes, it's a bit on the pricier side, but the quality, presentation, and service more than justify it. This is a busy spot (especially on weekends), so reservations are highly recommended. From start to finish, everything about Christina's feels special. Attentive service, beautiful plates, and food that tastes like it was made with care. If you're in Granbury, make the time to eat here -- you won't regret it. We'll definitely be back again soon!

Absolutely Outstanding German Fare, another A+ Granbury Gem!…read moreWe keep coming back to Ketzler's Schnitzel Haus & Biergarten and it never disappoints! For lunch, the Reuben sandwich is hands-down one of the best I've ever had. The corned beef is incredibly tender (they pressure-cook it for hours), piled high on perfect rye with just the right amount of sauerkraut, Swiss, and dressing. It's huge and flavorful, definitely order it! For dinner, we love the Oma's Meatballs served over spätzle and topped with that rich Jäger gravy. So comforting, hearty, and packed with flavor. We've also tried their short ribs during a special brunch offering and they were fall-off-the-bone tender and delicious. Everything we've ordered--whether schnitzel, brats, pretzels, or sides has been excellent. The atmosphere is so fun and immersive with the German decor, great beer selection, and friendly service every time. We've brought friends, family, and out-of-town company here multiple times, and everyone has raved about their meal. It's become our go-to spot for hosting visitors reliable, generous portions, and always a wonderful experience. If you're in Granbury, do yourself a favor and make a reservation. You won't regret it. Normally, I don't consider people from St. Louis to be credible deli evaluators, but I was desperate and made the hour drive to Grapevine. We got there at 11:15 and the line was nearly to the door. Within 30 minutes, it was well out into the street. That was a promising sign. The sandwich menu covered the entire wall over the counter. Lots of non-New-York sandwiches like Cubans, gyros, etc, but over in the left corner were the classic Ruebens and pastramis. I went for the latter. A REAL NY deli usually has a few soups like split pea and chicken noodle and matzoh. No soups. Bummer. They had a half dozen sides - 3 kinds of potato salads and a few slaws. I went with the German potato salad. The drink option was spartan - they tossed a styrofoam cup at me and pointed to the soda fountain. The pastrami sandwich was OK for Texas. A SUPER pastrami sandwich on hard rye can get me moaning like Meg Ryan in "When Harry Met Sally" -- only I don't have to fake it. The German potato salad was watery and bland - I should have gone with the mustard potato salad. Turnaround was on the slow side. Napkins = paper towel roll on table. Flimsy plasticware. The overall vibe was affordable utilitarian. I'll give the sandwich a 4, everything else a 3. Next time I'll drive the extra half hour to Cindi's.

It would be awesome if they had some kolaches with just cheese or were sweet, so while I had one with ham and cheese and one with sausage in cheese, she was at least able to enjoy a strawberry and cream danish as well as the always awesome poppyseed kolache. It's possible that a pecan square was purchased for later consumption, too. The self-serve coffee was great and we enjoyed all of this inside at a comfortable table. And after that, more shopping. Not the servers' fault but you would think management would be keen to bake more of what sells most. Then there are the sandwiches. If you want pork, you'll get value. But if you want brisket, look out! I've never seen a more miserly portion offered for 13 dollars. I understand that brisket is expensive now. But I still get it at various restaurants and have to say that it was a five dollar sandwich for thirteen bucks. Additionally, the sandwich maker apparently does not know what and order for "moist" brisket means. Mine proved rather dry.
