Every time we come to Storm Crow Manor, we have a great time! We love their Random Shots for a fun surprise in between having their super cool lit up and dry ice infused cocktails. The Miskatonic Gin and Darkest TImeline are the ones I remember the best. The former is essentially a gin and tonic that comes in a test tube (really instagrammable). The latter had a lychee and blueberry eyeball and was my favourite drink of that particular night. Both tasted really good and I would order them both again. Last time we went, we finally decided to try their food and it (surprisingly) did not disappoint either! We had a Hawaiian pizza to share and it was really tasty! My friends ordered other things like fish and chips and a burger and we all really enjoyed what we got. It's always fun when you come with a small group of people, but I think this would be a really cool place to have a date too. I think next time I would like to try their tiki inspired drinks with a collectable cup. The table next to us got one and it seemed super cool! read more

Eccentric bar where every room is unique and full of surprises, definitely an interesting place to visit for tourists and locals alike. Many fun drinks and board games, food is decent as far as bar food goes, but the portion is relatively small for the price. I really enjoy Random Shot ($6), where I rolled a dice to pick a drink, ended up with Vulcan Mindmeld (Creme de Menthe, Creme de Cacao) which was delicious. If you prefer to select your own shot, you can for a dollar more. Another drink highlight is Cthulhu Tiki (Rum, Pineapple Juice, Cream of Coconut, OJ), it comes in a Cthulhu shaped mug which makes a cool souvenir. The drink and the mug cost $30. Service could be slow due to the bar's popularity. Our recent visit was on Friday after Halloween, there was still some cool Halloween decoration and the servers were in costumes, I loved the fun atmosphere. This is one of my favourite places to come to! The food is always amazing, and the atmosphere is perfect for any nerd at heart like myself. The building in itself is worth the visit with so many cool trinkets and rooms, the washrooms downstairs are event designed to look like a dungeon! The servers are always extremely friendly and helpful and generally fast even on event nights. Their themed foods like the dungeon burger and dark side drink are so unique and fun. This is a beautiful spot with all its surroundings. The patio is spacious and inside is spectacular. The food is amazing and the staff are very attentive. I sat on the patio and ventured inside only to find secret booths, party rooms a bar a nice problem finding a bathroom. The menu was very spread out and affordable. Not a great experience, the food was terrible- ordered the lettuce wraps that were wayyyy too salty. Server didnt seem to like his job much, didnt care it was my Birthday, didnt offer refills on our drinks- dirty plates left on the table, my Sons pizza was terrible but they forgot about it so my Son had to wait. A trendy, quirky and eclectic spot for drinks in the heart of the city. This was our first time at this spot, we came to celebrate a friends' birthday. They have a nice patio, bar and unique and fun themed dining rooms inside the manor. Keep an eye out for Hugh he was a doll and the best server there ! He was so helpful recommending drinks and apps. I tried a few drinks: Romulan ale, Beetle juice, blade runner, chick pea fries and the teenage mutant ninja turtle pickles. Hugh's drink and app recommendations were perfect. There were many vegan and vegetarian food options so that was a plus; both the chick pea fries and teenage mutant ninja turtle pickles were great apps. My personal fav drink was Beetle juice which came with two gummy worms and the drink was served bubbling and tasted like melon so I'd highly recommend it (NB: ask Hugh how fast they run out of the gummy worms he'll let you know). It's entertaining how the servers bring some of the drink bowls to your table with lighting and music as an added effect. There were also plenty of games upstairs as well if you want to play board games. Overall it was a great spot for decently priced good food, drinks and friendly service. read more

Storm Crow Manor has multiple themed rooms from various books, films, and shows. We've been in 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea and the Victorian lounge but next time I'll request the Blade Runner room. I got the Dungeon Burger, which meant I had to roll dice multiple times for fate to determine my dinner. It turned out pretty good, except for the jalapeño peppers. I took out a couple, don't tell anyone. They have butterbeer, both alcoholic and not, and a lot of other great cocktails. They have a decent selection of games to choose from, and they didn't seem to mind when we brought our own Uno Flip cards. They also have DM and dine packages, which allows you to book a DM for a D&D dinner party. We haven't tried that yet, but we plan to sometime soon. Can't wait! read more

Wow. Seriously, the coolest bar EVER. I stumbled upon this place while visiting Toronto for the day... and this bar was definitely the highlight of the trip. So I think nerdy/geeky people would really appreciate this bar. There are different rooms with different themes and references (ie, an aquatic theme, frankenstein-lab with a real surgical lamp!, post-apocalyptic/zombie room, etc.) I really appreciate the details and also the bar menu with drinks with geeky references. Would you like some Romulan Ale? Or is The Dark Side bowl more your thing? Whether you are team Star Trek or Star Wars or not at all, there is something for everyone here. The "Nerdiest bar in town" is decorated and filled to the brim with various references to popular TV shows, movies, novels and games. There is simply no equal in town. While the food here won't blow any minds, they are priced reasonably and comparable or better than your average neighbourhood pub. The main attraction is of course the decor and the fact that you can eat, drink and play board games. My geek heart is aflame! Don't let the three stars fool you: this place is seriously cool. My man friend and I had the pleasure of visiting the manor three weeks after opening- considering its youth I'm trying to go easy on the review. Truth be told though, I'd love to give them four stars but I don't think they're there yet. It goes without saying that the space is spectacular. Accompanied by this is a total experience: the menus, the walls, the bathrooms, the piles of board games, the naming of things- it felt like being in Disney World. It seemed like everything was just so mindfully designed. Where things fall flat are on the actual restaurant components: the cocktail I ordered (Wakanda slam) was just ok. Their shot game ($6, roll the die, and deal with the shot you're allocated or pay $7) was fun although the shots didn't have much going on for me. I found the food to be pretty standard pub fare but inflated (so you know you're paying for the experience). The service, while friendly, was a damn hot mess. Wait time for a table, without reservation, by the time we were seated, was nearly two hours. Once we sat down we realized that two thirds of the tables in our section were unoccupied- they stayed that way for over an hour. By no means am I blaming the wait staff- this is clearly an issue of reservation and table management and clearly not staffing enough people in your opening weeks. These guys could seriously do with more bodies on the floor, at least until they get their system squared away. All this being said, I have faith in this place! I'm looking forward to visiting the manor again once some of these growing pains have passed. read more

I was going to give this 3 stars but the phenomenal service and ambience pushed it up to 4 for me. This place is delightfully geeky with well thought out decor and themed rooms. It's no wonder it's been a social hotspot for the geek community ever since it opened. Came on a weeknight around 7 and we made a reservation in advance. It was still decently busy for a Thursday! Server was great in promptly explaining the drinks menu and how the roll 20 shots worked. I got a Butterbeer and my husband ordered Beau's beer. I really enjoyed the Butterbeer and I can see myself coming back to try more cocktails in the future. Also a decent selection of mocktails and they can make drinks dairy free! Bonus points for biodegradable straws. For dinner I started with Avo Kaiju Toast and had the Fish n Chips. Hubby had the BBQ sandwich which he noted seemed on the smaller side for portion. The slaw with my fish was about the only thing I truly enjoyed. For $18 I wasn't expecting soggy fish n chips. The size looks impressive but it's mostly batter. Food was the biggest disappointment here for me. Overall the place is neat to hang out with friends for a couple hours and play games over themed drinks and food. It can get pricy quick though with the drinks. Especially if you keep ordering more because they're so good . I'll happily return but will eat beforehand next time. We came here on a Friday night, and made reservations ahead of time for a group of 7. The service was great - our server was very friendly, and took time to explain to us the d20 burger, etc! So I've been waiting paitently for Stormcrow to spread their wings in the GTA, patiently eating the hype, as if it were melange. One of the guys in my d&d group wasn't too impressed with the Vancouver locations, calling the food average, and complaining about the selection of games available to play. So I was aware, and entered on high alert. We arrived on a Saturday afternoon for a late lunch, and were seated right away in the Robocop area. It was my wife, my younger daughter and I. Milkshake was our server. Sadly, he was the only milkshake in the building as my daughter decided that she wanted one. I had the Dungeon Burger and let the d20 do most of the talking for my selections. What I got was an above-average burger. Their signature sauce definitely pushed things over the edge positively. My daughter had the kids Mac & Cheese, which she rated as Superbly awesome, and even put it ahead of that at Beertown in Waterloo. Sadly, I cannot recall what my wife ate. Walking around the restaurant, its a great venue. Themed rooms, and lots of conversation pieces, and many nooks and crannies. The décor can be a great icebreaker, and a way to initiate the non-nerdy. As for board games I was happy enough with the selection. They had simple kids games that were suitable for us, up to some of the more medium difficulty games that my friends and I play. The downsides: 1) not wheelchair accessible. 2) the stairs are narrow and should have a rail on each side. Between this and a few little lips as flooring transitions in the building this is an establishment where it would be hazardous to be clumsy or drunk. 3) my daughter found the Warhammer 40k themed basement washrooms a little scary for her. Definitely will repeat, but we don't live nearby enough to be regulars. read more

Very cool place. We were very excited to come here and were wildy disappointed. The atmosphere is great but it went downhill from there. The server was slow and never asked how the food was. Our food came out cold and we had to go find our server and stop her in order to mention something. She was very judgmental and not very friendly. Our presence seemed to offend her. It seemed like she was avoiding coming to us and looked confused and unimpressed when we commented about the food not being enjoyable. I will point out they tried to make up for it by taking the cold food off our bill and discounting others but i didnt appreciate that there was no apology and the fact that we had to go out of our way to mention it. Hubby & I came here to celebrate a friend's milestone bday. Pros: For those who love all things nerdy like sci fi decor, dishes with themed names (eg Warp Burger) you'll love this place. Basement washroom doors are decorated to look like spaceship doors. Washroom walls have comic book themed wall paper & movie posters. When they serve a themed drink like the Dark Vader 6 person drink they play his music theme over the speakers & it's served in a Darth Vader mug. Cons: Restaurant is in a converted building so narrow staircases & not much open space. Lots of large groups here so it's noisy & cramped. Burger I ordered was overpriced for the size & didn't taste that great. Servers didn't seem to know how to handle a large group. They were trying to give me someone else's food & for other people's orders mixed up. The novelty factor of this place is nice. I love the atmosphere & all that. But the service & food wasn't the greatest. I don't know if I would come here again. Maybe on a day when they aren't so busy. But this place seems to be popular so not sure if they ever have slow nights. read more

I mean just the visuals, the size, the volume of coolness and geekiness! From rooms of heaven and hell to a Blade Running cyberpunk room, an apothecary room, Twin Peaks/Shining Hybrid bar showing room... Seriously, it is huge in comparison to their original location on Commercial Drive in Vancouver. Over the top in the best of ways. They have given the space gothic Toronto flare without losing the heart of what the Storm Crow is all about. Cthulhu watched over me during the interview and I felt right at home. I ordered the Dana Scully's Sceptical French Toast with a side of bacon that came in an X (so clever) and it was delicious. French toast was crisp on the outside, moist and tender on the inside. Just the way I like it and the bacon was perfectly crisp. As much as I loved going to the Storm Crows in Vancouver I never had a dish I would order again which was the main reason why I did not go there all the time. Here? So far, no excuses. In fact, I want to explore everything. I will be back undercover investigate and report back. Right now I am additionally impressed to hear they have a plethora of non-alcohol beverages for people to order. Smart way to make more money and encourage people to come during the day for more than just brunch. I know I will be. My only complaint? No decaf coffee! Seriously? Hot chocolate was quite good. Nerdiest bar I have ever been to and I love every second here! I came here for a double date and my oh my is the decor over the top and perfect!! My friend practically went all out here! She ordered Butter Beer, which is based on Harry Potter, and she shared the flashy bottle of Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster! Four people. Four glass with a different colour light and ice cubes inside. Special lighting effects and dry ice. Super cool. Dungeon burger, where you customize your burger based on the results of a D20 die, a 20 sided die. Be honest! Veggie patty? Vegan aioli sauce? Gluten-free patty? Potato patty? Lettuce. Cheese. Sides. Everything you get depends on what number you roll! Do you dare to try? The washrooms were unisex and designed like BUNKERS! This bar is sick!!! Such cool design everywhere! It's so much fun. They've got a wide selection of drinks that aren't overly priced and all sound really delicious! They have a ton of yummy sounding food and I was super happy with how many vegan options there were!! BBQ jackfruit sandwich (15$) and vegan poutine (9$ or +3$ on the side of your meal) !! We tried vegan fried pickles (9$), and I saw vegan desserts on the menu too. I was really pleased especially because the prices weren't too bad. The service was really great as well! I'm not super stoked on sugary cocktails but o was pleasantly surprised at how fun the place was! Rooms are themed (we were in 'heaven' literally), a small room that was pink and it was cozy! My friends ordered Butter Beer and I grabbed the Romulan Ale. Honestly, I thought my drink was going to be super sugary but thankfully it wasn't! The butter beef that I sampled was like drinking butterscotch syrup. A stomach churner that's for sure. Ordered the cheesy garlic bread and chickpea fries which were quite yummy for bar snacks. Very fun night end of April to celebrate work successes. If you are looking to book a table for a group of 20, they don't do reservations over the phone so send an email to the address on their website. The person responding was prompt. Food was ok since I don't like bar food. Pulled jackfruit burger was too sweet. I did enjoy the chick pea fries a lot. Fried chicken and biscuits dish was overly dry (gravy was needed for sure) and greasy but the pickled veggies and apple sauce were a nice touch. I had the Wakanda Smash and What We Drink in the Shadows (sangria basically). Interesting names but nothing special. Another negative was the ants crawling on the table and padded bench we were sitting on. Highlights were definitely decor and roll the dice shots. My friends and I (group of 4) came to this restaurant on Saturday night. Be warned if you haven't had a reservation that there's a high chance they will tell you to wait anywhere up to 2 hours long. However they do have a system of calling or texting you once your table is ready so it's a plus (just don't go too far away ) The decor was very nerdy. The drinks were very thematic, unique and most tasted great. Food were ok a tad pricy. I shared wings and French onion soup with a friend. Wings flavour was decent but wasn't amazing out of the world. French onion soup I found was way too salty. On the second floor they also had a larger area with games. Also two small areas for more privacy seating up there. One bad thing is that it can be quite loud sometimes they might also get your order wrong. This is one of the most surprising, eccentric and geeky bars that I have visited, and I am so pleased that this place exists right here in Toronto!.. I had such a great time, even though all I really had was a drink (pumpkin ale) and a shot (more about that later). The visual and auditory ambience was so diverting, that I just needed to walk around the entire place to see the windows, displays, games, and private rooms. If you think that you might be a geek, or if you might be a goth or even just a nerd, then this is the place for you. I felt right at home at the Storm Crow Manor. The atmosphere is an ecclectic combination of gothic, Star Wars, nerdy games (ok, I play D and D!) and various apocalyptic imagery (hello, Cthulu!). The Storm Crow Manor combines these worlds in an interesting way: a mansion-style bar, with a double staircase, striking decor, stained glass window panes, and private rooms. This is a very cool place, and we settled in happily for a quick beverage or two. As I sipped my pumpkin ale, my attention (and that of my companions) was diverted to a blast of the Star Wars Imperial Theme Music. Then, our conversation completely ceased, as we beheld the steaming helmet of Darth Vader carried aloft to a back room. Apparently, someone ordered a Darth Vader themed group drink (they have share-able drink bowls) and the combination of the vapour of the dry ice, Star Wars Imperial Theme music, the Sith Helmet Chalice and the light effects that spread through the bar made this really exciting. So now, I accept my challenge: go back, with a few friends, just to see this spectacle once again. Having recovered from the mesmerizing Star Wars shock, my companions and I quickly reverted to our D and D personas. We tried the featured dice drinking game, where you roll a 20 sided dice to determine what you will get as a shot. I have bad luck in D and D rolling (yes, I admit it - it's sad really) so I rolled a 6, but recieved a refreshing shot of Vulcan Mind Meld - a.k.a. creme de cacao and creme de menthe. If you roll a 20, then you get to keep the shot glass! Basically, the whole experience was highly entertaining, and I will come back there again when I can. Service was friendly, courteous, and enthusiastic. This place makes "geek" and "nerd" sound totally awesome! Someday, if I ever want to host an event, I might book one of the private rooms, which seat about 5 to 7 of my gothic, Star Wars or D and D friends. It's beautifully executed in terms of the decoration, and there's a lot of humour in the menu. So it's pretty delightful in theory. Unfortunately my experience was just okay. I went alone, which may have been part of the problem; waiters often hate solo diners, and I get it. But it was mid-afternoon, and not busy, so I thought it would be fine. The greeter was friendly and terrific, but the waiter wasn't, acting pretty aloof. I ordered a butterbeer and a steak sandwich. The butterbeer was good, though for me it's a lot of sugar (maybe more of a dessert drink, but really delicious). The steak sandwich was not what I was hoping for - one piece of not-amazing steak with a lot of fat on the edges that I had to awkwardly trim off. And the fries, which are usually my weakness, had an odd taste (maybe they're fried in an oil I'm not familiar with), so I didn't finish them. Maybe I hit them on an off day, but it wasn't what I was hoping for. I'll definitely come in to try again, as the atmosphere warms my nerdy heart, and perhaps something else on the menu will appeal to me more. read more
