Food was delicious and our server was very friendly. We had the Clam Strips as an appetizer and they were great. The breading and seasoning had just the right amount crunch and spice. The King Crab was meaty and juicy and the Shrimp was wonderful. My mom had the Lobster and she loved it. I like the atmosphere in the restaurant and we will definitely be back soon. read more

Love the food. Atmosphere is typical of Cajun Louisiana and felt right at home. The fare is pricey but so worth it. Enough food to eat and take home. Love the Cajun hot spice. It is hot but not smoking hot, just right. I'll be back, budget permitting. read more

I placed a to go order came to pick up order I was told that my order was given to another customer so the manager comes out and screams at the cashier for about 5 minutes in front of me about giving the wrong order to another customer and demanded he call the customer back to tell them they had the wrong order and to bring it back I felt bad for the guy very unprofessional to do that in front of a customer so the manger tells me he called the customer and is waiting for her to bring the order back and can I wait for him to switch the order I said that is very unsanitary to give me a order that someone has already left your establishment with put It in there car and expect me to take that he seen nothing wrong with that so I decided to get my fiancé and we would eat in so they seat us and I told waiter I did not want the take out order I'm going to dine in I was go order something totally different ten minutes later they bring the order the girl brought back in they was trying to force it on me I got up and left never will I ever return to that place it's unsanitary I rather take the drive to Cleveland for some good seafood once food leave your restaurant in somebody else hand and car you don't know what that person could of did to eat read more

I would go back just for the Cajun crawfish Étouffée warning it is on spicy hot side but was full of crawfish, and the cheese bread they serve is VG. I do find their prices little steep for other stuff and all you get w meal is a piece of corn & piece of boiled potato. I wasn't happy w order of Crawfish, I order mild was too Spicy and personally not worth the trouble to get the little tail meat. but since my first n last time trying whole bugs you learn. My GF said lobster tails were very good I'll do those instead next time. I wish there was more fish selection other then Tilapia & catfish. read more

I was very disappointed. We had a 30 minute wait. My friend asked if we were next and he said he forgot to put our number on the list. After another 10 minutes I went up and our numbers were still not on the list. The other guy apologized and we finally got a seat. Not very efficient. Husband and I decided to try a new restaurant for date night last Friday. We had a wonderful waitress that explained the menu in detail. She was very patient as we decided what to order. Food took about 30 minutes to get to us which I thought was great since it's made to order. The food was PHENOMENAL! So much flavor! We could not finish it all. I eat out a minimum of 4 times a week and was genuinely looking forward to trying Storming Crab because the menu promised an array of dishes unavailable in the same old/same old Youngstown dining scene. What a spectacular flameout! The first thing we noticed walking in was the godawful lighting: it looked like what you might find in a prison cafeteria. (I was tempted to don a pair of sunglasses to diminish the horrible glare.) And can we discuss the mystifying graffiti which decorates every inch of the space? Ugh. Rather than providing "edge" (which I'm assuming they were going for) it makes the entire barn-like space look dirty/unkempt. Our server rambled on for five minutes extolling the gustatory marvels of the dinner combos, probably because they're the most expensive items on the menu. Her brusque manner--littered with an off-putting profanity while describing the restaurant's admittedly pathetic beer selection-- made me think I was in an Alabama truck stop. Since it was still early--it seemed wise to arrive before the dinner rush since the restaurant is still relatively new--we opted for a variety of shareable dishes, none of which are available locally: clam strips; the fried oyster basket; fried okra; and their signature seafood bread. Because there wasn't a single interesting beer (on draft or in a bottle), I ordered an ice tea. The ice was almost completely melted which made me think it had been sitting around awhile. It tasted like brown water. Naturally everything arrived at the same time--and because there's nothing more unpleasant than cold fried food--I left most of my meal uneaten. There aren't any salt and pepper shakers on the tables, and a request for same resulted in the belated delivery of a handful of paper packets (80% of which were pepper; sigh). No lemon wedges are served with the seafood either (huh?!?), and a request for vinegar produced a small cup of white, not malt vinegar. Shudder. The fried oysters tasted fishy-old (like they'd been in the deep-freeze too long); the clam strips had almost zero flavor (they might as well have been rubber bands and were just as chewy); the obviously frozen fries were utterly dismal ("Cajun" meant the frozen spuds were doused in Old Bay seasoning: bleuch); the fried okra was the worst I've ever eaten (they tasted almost entirely of breading, and might as well have been Grade-D hush puppies); and the much vaunted seafood bread was overpriced even as a giveaway. It arrived cold, greasy and shoe leather-tough with an unpleasant aroma/aftertaste. You needed a knife--or maybe a saw--to cut through it. Since none was provided, I left it uneaten after one nauseating bite. We couldn't wait to get out of there soon enough. And while I was itching for a manager to stop by so I could vent, none was visible anywhere. (They were probably hiding in embarrassment somewhere in the deep recesses of their office.) As eager as I was initially to try the seafood boils, I will never set foot in this restaurant again. Although--considering everything--I'd be surprised if Storming Crab is still in business by year's end. At least their Boardman, OH location. read more

Very disappointed. Terrible atmosphere...far too bright and ugly/gimmicky. Crummy music blasting so loud you can't hear. Booths in center aisle are open and therefore you're sitting right up against the people next to you. Seats are short (coat and purse kept falling on the floor) and the backs of the seats seem to lean forward and are very uncomfortable. Menu is very limited and no prices. No side dish selections. No salads. Had to keep reordering drinks because the bar was out of 4 different common beers on the menu. Everything you get is just dumped in a pan in front of you with a few potatoes and corn. The potatoes, the corn, and the seafood all taste identical because it's all just boiled together in a bag with whatever seasoning you choose. You honestly can't taste the difference between a bite of lobster or a potato! The crablegs were oily. Seafood is expensive so go someplace else where you can get what you pay for and get something that actually tastes like seafood. This place is just a gimmick. Do NOT waste your money! read more

Decided to try out the new place. Holy brightness! It's like walking into the sun. Outside of that, it's a fun, low-key atmosphere. The food was pretty good but you definitely have to like shellfish. There isn't much else to choose from, but, the two types of seasonings we had were very good. The downside was the waitstaff. Our waitress didn't know the beers (which is okay) and didn't ask (not okay) because "she is only a server and doesn't drink." The manager had a list, and we knew they had opened a week prior so didn't expect them to be fully stocked yet. But, when we asked which type of beer was on draft, the answer was "it's the fourth tap on the right." Needless to say, they have some training to do. So, if you are looking for a messy, make-sure-you-have-your-bib-on, seafood boil, have at it. If you're looking for anything else, this is not the place. I would give them another shot, since they were new, but, hopefully they are attempting to learn their stuff. read more

We ordered online and started leaving to find out we were shorted 7 pieces of bread which I ordered and paid for. We went back and they said that the ovens are down and they can't make the rest of my order. The one meal had substitution for the fries for the bread so now they only get to eat scallops for their meal. They only gave me the price of the bread that I ordered back. The employees were too busy have tickling wars to pay attention to the fact that the orders were wrong. This has never happened the other times I have ordered online. Very disappointed. read more

Sooooo good! My wife and I had a fantastic dinner here. The seafood is amazing, got the #2 boil deal. We've never eaten at a Cajun boil place so we didn't know what to expect- they bring all the food and pile it in the middle of the table- lobster, clams, oysters, crayfish, potatoes, and sausage. It was messy but so good! We will be back soon. And the service was great, the waitress was very helpful since we were new to the boil experience. read more

Went to visit on 2/25/201 from Pittsburgh Pa. Looked great from outside , and went down from there. They sat us in a booth, a very drafty area, had to keep my coat on the whole meal. They must be known for the writing all over walls , I get the vibe, but in and around the booth we were in were foul words, offensive statements and political statements. When I went to restroom , it was very offensive, the writing on walls was very vulgar, racist, homo phobic, and swear words everywhere , not to mention things I cannot say. Why any family friendly restaurant would permit this , is beyond me. think I am nuts, go into the men's bathroom , it is everywhere. Maybe the manager thinks it is funny? What if you had small kids...? Also the bathroom was dirty and garbage cans over flowing. So the meal came in big bags , cool, however the waitress gave me the wrong meal, I ordered garlic butter and got Cajun sauce. Was into my meal and later realized something didn't seem right. I did not enjoy, but was with another couple and did not want to send back and start over, I should have, but should have been brought the right meal. The waitress never stopped by, service was very bad. Our bill was $236 for the four, not counting tip. felt over priced for what the quality was. BTW I did not like the Crayfish, very little meat, and the waitress made sure to remind us to scrap the "poop" out of them, when she took our order, which was the last time I saw here till the bill. Just had lunch here. Little birthday treat / first time here with my beautiful wife. Needless to say excellent all around. The crab shrimp mussels in a mild garlic butter sauce was phenomenal. Highly recommend. We ordered one dinner size meal and it fed the two of us plus extra. Staff was super friendly. Lolly our waitress was beyond top notch. I wish I paid more attention to the reviews. They are spot on. Edit staff is very nice and attentive but the kitchen organization / management is a mess. Seated at 7:00, left at 9:30. If you're in a hurry go elsewhere. Waiter brought drinks and kept them flowing. He was very good. One out of 3 appetizers came early, the balance late with the meal. Food took over an hour after order was placed. Food is ok+, but it is a boil, so you are going to be sharing your food. It comes in a big bag which the waiter puts in a large metal bowl and you remove your choice of crab legs, shrimp, crawfish , corn etc. We were seated at a booth and with 4 people and the table was very crowded with the 2 shared orders. If your idea of fun is a crowded mess of finger food, this is your place. If not go elsewhere. With appetizers, drinks / beers / cocktails, you're going to pay $100 for two. Once the novelty wears off, this place will go out. I give it until 2023. read more
