One of our close friends recommended Stormy's. We have never been there before, so our expectations were pretty high. Sadly, it turned out to be disappointing. When we arrived, we were greeted by our waitress. At first, she seemed nice. She introduced herself and told us she was the owner's daughter. We thought it was great that she was helping with her family's business. Then we chose what we were going to eat and that's where everything took a wrong turn. My husband ordered "The king of steaks", which was rib-eye, and I got the prime rib. We also got clam chowder and a salad to share. When our waitress brought the soup, she spilled some on the table. That was totally fine, it happens. But later, when she served the steaks, my husband's steak looked very overcooked. We asked her to remake it, and she took it back to the kitchen. When she came back, she said she won't charge us for it but claimed that under the kitchen lights, it was definitely medium rare. That caught us off guard, because the steak was so overcooked and it was incredibly charred on the outside. On top of that, it was completely unseasoned. My prime rib was also overcooked, closer to medium well than medium rare, so I just gave my piece to my husband and stuck to the soup. The clam chowder was okay, just average. The salad, however, was terrible. The veggies didn't look fresh, and the overall presentation was very unappetizing. Our biggest issue was with the service. As soon as we told our waitress we were not happy with the meat, she became dismissive and spoke to us with an attitude, or ignored us completely. The restaurant is very overpriced for the quality and quantity of food. One last thing worth mentioning is that my husband wore beige shorts, and when we left the restaurant, I noticed stains on the back of his shorts, most likely from the chairs. We won't be back.

    Taylor so fun and sweet!!

We had the Prime Rib, cooked to perfection. The salad & soup were delicious. The clam chowder top notch!! The service was excellent as usual. The ambiance is perfect! Established 1854 and absolutely perfect!! We love the owners to pieces!!

First timer at Stormy's. If you're craving a good steak or prime rib, this will hit the spot. Great vibes and cocktails. Family owned. Checks all of the boxes.

    Mmmm, clam chowder

It's one of those rare places that always feels like the right choice. Over time we've gotten to know the owner a bit, which just adds to the welcoming, personal feel of the place. The service is consistently great--friendly, attentive, and never overbearing. The wine selection is fantastic and really well curated. What I appreciate most is how they meet you where you are--if you just want a great glass of wine, they've got you. If you want to learn a little more, they're happy to guide you. And if you feel like geeking out on wine, they can absolutely go there too. They also sometimes project old movies on the wall, which adds a really fun, laid-back vibe and makes the whole experience even more memorable. It's comfortable, unpretentious, and always a good time. Hard to ask for more in a neighborhood wine bar. We'll keep coming back.

Obviously they have an extensive wine list and they are extremely knowledgeable about all things wine so it makes ordering easier. We were with a large group of about 10 people so we shared bottles as well as ordered by the glass. Several people in the group were raving about the soup of the day, saying how delicious it was and they have had it before. Soup wasn't my first thought with wine but I'm so glad I got it. It was filled with white beans, veggies, and so flavorful. I don't remember the exact name of it but I still think about how good it was. It literally was the best soup I've ever had! They have a great food menu in general. The vibe of the place is upbeat and chill at the same time. Besides being beautiful with wine as decor, it's a cozy feel with groups and couples all enjoying themselves. It's an upscale look but you feel like you are at a friend's house. Highly recommend stopping in for a glass, or bottle of wine and some food!

It's inviting vs the stuffy atmosphere some places have. BABAGANOUSH PITA we got it for the kiddo expecting it to be run of the mill stuff you get. But the babaganoush had the extreme rich flavors of smoked eggplant and felt like almost half an eggplant went in there. Not diluted with tahini, garlic, just pure flavors of eggplant with tanginess of sumac. LITTLE GEM SALAD WITH RAINBOW TROUT was hearty, leafy and very refreshing. The pickled celery was the surprise. HAMACHI CRUDO - beautifully assembled with thoughtfulness, light, refreshing. A bunch of flavor bombs in there so each bite is an adventure. Basil making it refreshing, earthy crunch from hazelnut, sharpness from green onion, sweet tart kiwis. I think a bit of citrus would make this a superstar. Mandolin shaved limes perhaps? GRILLED MAITAKE MUSHROOMS - ok I think this was the chefs most technically impressive dish, with an exercise in playing with bitter profiles and turning it into a master piece. Grilled maitake gets the char from the grill is the first flavor layer, it's woken up by the wild thyme from the zatar. Next the Japanese turnips bring the second dimension with earthy beautiful bitter notes on a bed of a creamy tahini based sauce. It's finished with fresh parsley to bring a fresh element to it. Great stuff. Could raddichio be added to make this more challenging? I saw those crunchy POTATOES and I got them even after eating the meal lol. Do yourself a favor and just get them - they're hot, crunchy and perfect to pair with the vegetables. Finally we got their chocolate mousse with bruleéd bananas sorry couldn't take a picture before it was all gone. Great way to wrap. The staff were all super friendly and helped with picking things from the menu! I got the mystery glass of wine and they had made a fun game out of it. The Beaujolais was great too. Overall when you're surrounded by these amazing farms, vineyards and ocean - no better way than to bring them together - kudos to the creators of the Redwood for making this place with intentionality. I wanted to get the squash, duck pâté, spring pea salad, tinned fish items as well, I guess for next time!

Although the flavor profile on the salmon with citrus and saffron was not to my taste it was expertly prepared. All that said we received some of the most neglectful service I have ever had from a very nice server, who for no obvious reason left us alone for most of the meal. It got busier as our time stretched on, but it wasn't slammed and there was plenty of staff. We ordered plenty of food including two bottles of wine. We had to completely finish all of our appetizers before being asked about mains and we sat with empty glasses for ~20 minutes (possibly more) before we flagged someone down to get the second bottle; a bottle we left half drunk because it stretched our evening so long. I might give this place another try but honestly it was one of the most drawn out anticlimactic $400+ birthday celebrations (without desert) I have ever had. We could have done better at home for less.

After receiving my salad and beverage though, service all but disappeared. After 25-ish minutes and finally realizing I hadn't seen my server in a while, I managed to flag down another member of the staff (not my server) who kindly offered to check for me, and who returned with the disappointing news that no such item had ever been ordered. Spoiler alert: it had definitely been ordered :( Had anyone at all checked in on me after the salad arrived, I would have inquired about the main I was waiting for and we would have figured this all out relatively quickly - and I probably would have left a more satisfied customer. (I should also note that the salad and the drink were both good, so I was looking forward to the rest.) Instead, I just asked for the check - and I left still hungry and rather disappointed. To add to the weirdness, the server gave me someone else's check at first, with many more items ordered than my drink and salad. I mention it to help characterize the unfortunate misfire vibe. Respect to the servers, I know they're working hard and there are a ton of things that contribute to situations like this - maybe an off night, maybe a gap in training, maybe unexpectedly slammed... maybe something else entirely - but regardless, Yelp is for reviewing one's experience with a business. My experience at Willi's was a bummer, and I am not sure I'll bother going back.

The butterfish lived up to its name, rich and silky, with a depth of flavor that lingered pleasantly. What stood out most was the cohesion of the dishes. The sauces, in particular, were layered and thoughtfully composed. They were so compelling that, by the end of the meal, we found ourselves savoring every last drop with bread, unwilling to leave anything behind, all while enjoying a steady cadence of well-crafted martinis.
