My boyfriend and I came here for breakfast on a Sunday morning around 8:30 AM. It was very quiet inside and we were able to pick where we sat. On the wall was a chalkboard with the list of local farmers and vendors that they used to supply their restaurant. I loved how fresh and flavorful all the food was, but I loved their collaboration with small local business owners to provide them with things like eggs and dairy. I had an omelette with spinach, caramelized, tomatoes, chicken sausage, and goat cheese. This was one of the most delicious bites I've had at a breakfast spot in a long time. We also shared an order of beignets that came with some fresh apple butter, which was to die for! It felt like taking a bit off fall weather if that makes sense. My boyfriend had some biscuits and country gravy with a side of sausage and fried eggs. He loved everything that he ate as well. He also had a bloody Mary, which was made with Soju. The flavor and quality was top notch and you hardly missed the vodka from the drink. Our server was very friendly, and he offered some insight into the quality of the Soju and the vendors that they work with. Firstly, thank you to Americana for seating us. We came in just before 3 pm, and we didn't realize that they were about to close. We ordered huevos rancheros with orange juice, and a caprese sandwich with a side of soup. The eggs were tasty, but it wasn't very hearty. I was hungry again within an hour. Lots of colorful sauce arranged around the dish, most of it wasted. The sandwich had the aoli, even though The Wife asked for it without. The sandwich was hearty, but kind of a mess. Assembled like someone wanted to leave. The space is attractive, with interesting local art on the walls, but frankly the prices ($20 for the eggs, $27 for the sandwich, $7 for a small juice) were out of line. read more

We were fortunate to find street parking and were directed to our table inside upon arriving. Our selections were presented well and all prepared to our satisfaction. I would recommend their salads and BBQ burger. Their fries were ok. Regrettably, there seemed to be a miscommunication with the staff resulting in a bit of a wait to have our order taken or to receive drink refills. Delicious food, attentive service, sweet ambiance! Farm to table restaurants are more common in Sebastopol and Sonoma than Marin (where I live). Yes, they can be more expensive but there are some more reasonably priced items and the quality was excellent. We shared a Huevos Rancheros and Avocado Toast. The huevos had a more smoky, dark beans and sauce which was unique and flavorful. I could tell the corn tortillas under were thicker than most and had a wonderful chewy quality and the eggs were more orangey yolked. I licked my plate. Yum. Avocado toast had local bakery Red Bird sourdough toast creatively done with pickled onions, radishes and more. Land and Water coffee, which I loved. Our server was a bit overwhelmed with a busier than usual Monday crowd (a school holiday) but she kept in touch and refreshed our coffee. Atmosphere is pleasant and I'll be back to try more! It's not in my budget for an everyday experience but a great treat for a couple times a month. read more

This place is cute and kind of a hole in the wall but , warm and inviting. We ordered a beer, biscuits/gravy and a lentil soup. The beer took forever (we were thirsty) ‍ biscuits were ok but dry. We ordered a side of gravy which made them better. The lentil soup was absolutely delicious! Overall a good experience. My only gripe was being charged $7 for extra gravy. The last time I was here, it was the Gypsy Café so I was looking forward to lunch at this relatively new spot. The majority of our group of five had eaten breakfast here before and they had all been favorably impressed. It must have been a good day for fish as the daily specials included a fish sandwich and fish and chips. We sat in the booth near the rear of the restaurant. It was quiet and we could hear ourselves talk. Our server left a bottle of water on the table for us. It's always nice to be able to serve ourselves rather than have to wave someone down. They do have a couple small tables out front on the sidewalk in addition to several tables inside. Now for the food.... All of our dishes looked beautiful. Three of us ordered the fish sandwich, which came with a side. I ordered the green salad and two friends ordered the coleslaw. I was sitting next to the person who ordered the fish and chips and it looked delicious! Our other friend ordered the kale Caesar salad and it was a fair amount of fresh greens with croutons, shredded Estero Gold cheese, and sliced red onion. I felt it would have been nicer if they served a roll or a piece of hearty bread with his salad. The fish on my sandwich was cooked perfectly and there was a layer of red cabbage coleslaw in between the bun. Keep your napkin nearby as you will need it! The green salad that accompanied my sandwich was fresh and crisp and delightful. My dining companions mentioned that they wished their coleslaw had less of a mayo-like ingredient and a bit more seasoning. Ambiance inside is pleasant and clean. Parking can be tricky on Main Street but there is parking across Main Street in a public lot. read more

This is by far my favorite breakfast place in Sebastopol. Not only is it yummy, but it's also farm-to-table, meaning local food, and many things are organic. That matters to me. We were so happy to find Americana on Yelp when figuring out where to eat before visiting the Sebastopol Sunday Farmer's Market. When I find a place with gluten free waffles I'm always happy, and when they're available at a true farm-to-table cafe in a picturesque town square in wine country, I'm even happier. I had the waffles with sausage links and Jon had a classic breakfast with pancakes, bacon, and eggs. Everything was lovely and fresh, our waitress was super kind, and we had fun sitting at the bar and enjoying the bustle of a busy Sunday. The only thing I would change is that there was no traditional syrup available -- they only had (at least during our visit in late April) a house-made vanilla cider maple syrup. I had a lovely lunch yesterday with three of my friends for birthday celebrations. I had a patty melt which was absolutely delicious with onion rings. My other friend had a fried chicken sandwich and the other one had the mushroom sandwich. All of our meals were absolutely delicious. We had freshly squeezed oj screwdrivers, also yummy. What I love most is their unwavering commitment to farm-to-table creating incredibly fresh and delicious menu items while supporting local farms, bakeries and purveyors. I absolutely love the breakfast sandwich with eggs, Estero gold cheese, spinach and onions on the ever delicious Redbird Bakery sourdough (add their house made hot sauce - it's a MUST!). Honestly, you can't go wrong ordering anything off their menu - don't forget to check their Specials! I haven't gotten around to trying lunch items yet but I have my eye on the grilled chicken club. So good for lunch! Americana was almost completely empty when we stopped in on a Monday afternoon, and we were immediately greeted by the friendliest staff member. The interior had plenty of seating, lots of natural light, and a casual ambiance. However, we decided to sit on the small (dog friendly) back patio. For drinks, they had a whole seasonal menu featuring strawberry beverages, and I chose the Strawberry Lemonade. I was worried it might be too sweet, but it was delicious and refreshing! For food, I ordered the Americana Salad, which was fantastic. All the fruits/veggies were so fresh, and it had the perfect amount of gorgonzola. My friends got the Blue Cheese Mushroom Bacon Burger and Basic Burger, and both of these were great. After our meal, our server brought us a complimentary Salted Chocolate Chip Cookie with our bill, which was so cute! The cookie was also delicious - so soft with flaky salt sprinked on top. We had lunch at the Americana when we were in Sebastopol for the weekend to attend the Gravenstein Fair last month. The first problem we encountered was awful odors coming from the kitchen--they clearly needed better exhaust fans. So, we moved ourselves to an outside table. When my veggie burger (from their special board) arrived out there, I was put off by its look--purplish (!), irregularly shaped, irregular thickness, and weirdest of all, it was served on toasted French bread rather than a burger bun. (Who does that without stating it in the description?!?) But the worst was yet to come!!! When I bit in, I could not believe what I tasted! They'd served me a "beet burger!" I *loathe* beets! Who serves beet burgers labeled as veggie burgers?!? So, I sent it back with a request to be served a salad that had been my second choice. Gripe #4: The lettuce in the salad wasn't fresh! I ate all the other ingredients and then went to another restaurant to order something edible. I *really* regret having tried Americana! This restaurant has been in Sebastopol for several months now and it does have excellent food, especially breakfast. What I really like: I love the breakfast burrito, the chilaquiles, the omelets, and most everything they offer. The green sauce they put on the burritos and chilaquiles is the best I've ever had from anywhere! They make their own jam which is really good too. The wait staff are very friendly and go out of their way to ensure great service. The coffee is also good. What could improve: I'm not too fond of the home fries, they don't seem homemade to me. I wish they offered some sort of beef or pork hash like the old Gypsy used to offer. It would be a great addition to the menu.
