    Spicy vodka and gnocchi

Came for their newer dinner service and it was great! Similar to Mateo, great presentation, service, and flavors. We LOVE the whipped Brie and vodka sauce. The ambiance was very cute and cozy, wine was good! Love the Chianti. Will be back again for dinner and for the counter service lunch.

The pasta here is handmade but the noodles came out overcooked. The bucatini and spaghetti noodles are essentially the same, the spaghetti noodles are not what you would typically expect. The chicken parm sandwich was good as all the reviews point out. The parking lot in the back is NOT available for an hourly rate and is a flat $10 fee.

Food was delicious. I had a half chicken parm and it hit the spot. The chicken, vodka sauce and pesto were all delicious but I think a bit more salt would've made it a 5/5 to me. The restaurant is clean, fairly small, but the are expanding. Staff were friendly and quick! I have so many things in that menu I want to try and I can't wait to go back.

This casual eatery is new to 300 South and from what I hear very busy at lunchtime and expanding for more seating. It is a more affordable version of Matteo down the street, with fewer options, lower prices, but the same quality food. It was pretty quiet when we stopped in at 5pm on a weeknight. But started picking up quickly. Very helpful Yutana explained the menu options at the counter and guided our choices. We went with the bucatini pasta with a pomodoro sauce and then tartufo panini. Food came out quickly. The pasta portion was small but the sandwich was large. The sauce was thick and covered the thick noodles. The cheese in the sandwich was gooey and delicious. I'm sure most everything in the menu is good but our options were limited. I would like it if they identified with a "V" the vegetarian items as they do the gluten free pasta with "GF". Would I return? Perhaps, but for the price and setting, I would appreciate more pasta. The gelato sounded great but it's not hand-dipped, it's pre-packed in cups in the freezer. We didn't try it. Maybe next time.

    #33 - chicken parmesan sandwich

One bite. It only took one bite for me to realize this was the best sandwich I have ever eaten. It's the #33 - a chicken parmesan sandwich on a flaky, crispy warm ciabatta. I just finished eating the half sandwich of the "Make it a Meal" which is a half sandwich and then salad or dessert and a drink. I opted for the pistachio gelato and already wishing I had just ordered a whole sandwich. I may order another half after I finish this gelato. It is that good. Yutana takes your order and delivers the food with a smile, and will gladly tell you about the menu items and how they are prepared.

Holy cow - this food was so good I had to write a review before leaving the restaurant. I got the #1 and could honestly eat this sandwich every day for the rest of my life. The bread was light and crispy and paired perfectly with the creamy burrata, mortadella & pistachio sauce. Truly perfection. My husband got the chicken parm sandwich which was so flavorful, light and crispy. The place was beautiful, clean and bright and the service was impeccable! Can't wait to come back and try more.

Food was excellent. They have done a great job at making a fast casual Italian place while still maintaining good quality food you'd expect from Matteo. Pasta was perfectly cooked. The bread on the chicken parm was perfectly crispy. My wife and I got red wine which was nicely chilled. Our food came out extremely fast. My only critique would be the 5000k lighting and techno music that was playing wasn't the ambiance I'd pick personally. It is possible the faster music got people in and out of their tables quicker, but I think a dimmer switch and more chill music would go a long ways. We're excited to go back and try other items!

I haven't been to Matteo's yet but wanted to try their sister restaurant to see if it was worth! I think overall it wasn't a bad experience! You can tell this restaurant is new and that's okay! The lady at the front was very nice & she handled being the only worker/server during a dinner rush! I do think the inside is a little boring. I would like more decorations or made to feel more cozy. There were bright almost hospital like lights that I def would tone down a bit. For the food, I do think it was very tasty! the meatballs were yummy and pretty filling for an appetizer! Unfortunately my Vodka sauce was kind of bland. The description said there was pancetta but when I was looking I saw none! My fiancés sauce however was super tasty!

Wow, the focaccia and other breads in the basket were great, but they add in a garlic butter!!! WOOWOO. Decided on a Hugo Spritz and a Rose Spritz, so two great drinks with dinner. I also ordered the meatball appetizer and the Aglio E Olio pasta. I really loved the Aglio. I thought the meatballs were good, but not my favorite. That being said, I came back the second night for dinner again and they have been spot on with everything (minus the meatballs not being my favorite). The next night I tried the Brasato and those short ribs did fall off! I also had a glass of an extremely expensive wine, so it was nice to be able to try something and that they even have that option! PROS: Wonderful spot on the corner of downtown, near hotels Great Employees, including the singing.....yes I received a song Great food, choices are good and they have options for everyone WINE Choices are out of this world. We ordered the polenta with spice sausage, it was HUGE and can be shared with 4 people. 2 of us could not finish it. Additionally for dinner we got the gnocchi which was quite tasty and the steak special which was similar to a skirt steak. The steak was good, my only thing was that I didn't enjoy the seasoning on the potatoes (but those were my tastebuds and yours might like them)! The food was absolutely heavenly from start to finish, and I'm still dreaming about it. I even packed up my dessert to enjoy later, and Ben thoughtfully included instructions on the container for the best way to enjoy it. It's those little details that make such a lasting impression. Our server, Ben, was truly exceptional. He took the time to explain every special in detail, made us feel like we were longtime friends, and struck the perfect balance of being attentive without ever hovering. We were dining with our toddler, and he brought over crackers just in case our little one wanted a snack. That level of thoughtfulness speaks volumes. The restaurant had technically closed, but Ben never once made us feel rushed. Instead, he let us relax, enjoy the beautiful patio, and savor every moment of our meal. Genuine hospitality like that is so rare. Everything about our experience was outstanding, from the incredible service to the unforgettable food. If we ever find ourselves back in Salt Lake City, Caffé Molise will be our first stop without hesitation. Thank you, Ben, and the entire Caffé Molise team, for making our visit so special!

We had the bread with whipped cheese and hot honey along with the grilled caesar salad and crudo for appetizers. They were all beautifully presented and delicious but the caesar blew us away and was one of our favorite bites of the night. We got a few more cocktails to enjoy with dinner--the Mezzin' Around and a gin, mint, and lime drink I forgot the name of. We enjoyed both of these as well. For entrees, I got the carbonara and my husband got the squid ink pasta with lobster. I've never seen more beautifully presented pasta dishes in my life. The flavor matched the beauty too--and the portions were good enough to take half home. My husband was incredibly happy with all the lobster in his pasta. We took a raspberry tiramisu home, which was also delicious. The bill came to $208 before tip, which matched the quality of the food and restaurant experience. It's a beautiful space, especially when it's still light outside and the evening sun comes in through the windows. Our server Jordan was excellent. Knowledgeable and efficient. They give you a TON of complementary things. Bruschetta to start. A massive bread basket, which is great for dipping into the anchovy garlic dipping sauce and all sorts of other sauces throughout the evening. And biscotti and a little cup of hot chocolate for dessert. We did not love the pasta sampler we ordered, though. It certainly wasn't bad, but all the pasta was overcooked IMO. I got the Salsiccia e Mare for my entree, and it was fabulous. Essentially a cioppino, but with sausage on a bit of spinach in the middle. The seafood was clams, muscles, calamari, and scallops. My wife had the Pollo della Casa, which was super tasty, but, as with the pasta, we thought the risotto was really overcooked. Had almost no consistency at all. Almost like creamy grits. And the famous lemon gelato dessert at the end was super. It was 28 bucks - ouch - but it was massive. Very lemony, and served on a bit of fresh Utah peaches. Prepared tableside, which was fun. I didn't love the honey they drizzled all over it, but my wife sure did. All in all, a really fun evening and a very solid restaurant. We'll go again.

There were two options and we chose the one with shrimp on romaine, burrata caprese, and melon with prosciutto. Then we shared the pasta sampler (which has a much cooler name that I can't recall because I don't speak Italian!). I was never a big fan of gnocchi but it was fantastic, served in a spicier tomato-based sauce. There was a spectacular butternut squash ravioli, spinach ravioli, and a spaghetti with an indescribably delicious cream sauce. Overall, that dish is NOT to be missed. We also had a special entree of beef tenderloin with mushrooms, shaved potatoes, and an oxtail sauce. We shared it because OMG food coma, which was a great call. We finished with the tiramisu *swoon* and the lemon gelato with lemon juice, local Utah honey, and sea salt sprinkles. I'm not a big lemon dessert fan and I wouldn't have normally ordered it (I had the tiramisu). The lemon gelato with honey had such a pleasantly unusual texture. The honey had the mouth feel of stringy cheese but the flavor of spring. The gelato was delicate and soft and the salt just amplified the experience. Zachary was our server. He's funny, extremely knowledgeable, and served each dish with an unforgettable flourish. I'm sure mine is just one more voice extolling the fabulousness of this restaurant, but it was a pleasure. In my work, I get to eat in many amazing restaurants. It sounds bold, but I think this was one of the best meals I've ever had. Excellent choice!

The salty mushrooms were mellowed by the chewy rice. The cashew cream gave a nice variation in texture. I didn't leave a morsel behind. The harissa carrots were nice as well.
