The pasta here is handmade but the noodles came out overcooked. The bucatini and spaghetti noodles are essentially the same, the spaghetti noodles are not what you would typically expect. The chicken parm sandwich was good as all the reviews point out. The parking lot in the back is NOT available for an hourly rate and is a flat $10 fee.

Food was delicious. I had a half chicken parm and it hit the spot. The chicken, vodka sauce and pesto were all delicious but I think a bit more salt would've made it a 5/5 to me. The restaurant is clean, fairly small, but the are expanding. Staff were friendly and quick! I have so many things in that menu I want to try and I can't wait to go back.

This casual eatery is new to 300 South and from what I hear very busy at lunchtime and expanding for more seating. It is a more affordable version of Matteo down the street, with fewer options, lower prices, but the same quality food. It was pretty quiet when we stopped in at 5pm on a weeknight. But started picking up quickly. Very helpful Yutana explained the menu options at the counter and guided our choices. We went with the bucatini pasta with a pomodoro sauce and then tartufo panini. Food came out quickly. The pasta portion was small but the sandwich was large. The sauce was thick and covered the thick noodles. The cheese in the sandwich was gooey and delicious. I'm sure most everything in the menu is good but our options were limited. I would like it if they identified with a "V" the vegetarian items as they do the gluten free pasta with "GF". Would I return? Perhaps, but for the price and setting, I would appreciate more pasta. The gelato sounded great but it's not hand-dipped, it's pre-packed in cups in the freezer. We didn't try it. Maybe next time.

    #33 - chicken parmesan sandwich

One bite. It only took one bite for me to realize this was the best sandwich I have ever eaten. It's the #33 - a chicken parmesan sandwich on a flaky, crispy warm ciabatta. I just finished eating the half sandwich of the "Make it a Meal" which is a half sandwich and then salad or dessert and a drink. I opted for the pistachio gelato and already wishing I had just ordered a whole sandwich. I may order another half after I finish this gelato. It is that good. Yutana takes your order and delivers the food with a smile, and will gladly tell you about the menu items and how they are prepared.

Holy cow - this food was so good I had to write a review before leaving the restaurant. I got the #1 and could honestly eat this sandwich every day for the rest of my life. The bread was light and crispy and paired perfectly with the creamy burrata, mortadella & pistachio sauce. Truly perfection. My husband got the chicken parm sandwich which was so flavorful, light and crispy. The place was beautiful, clean and bright and the service was impeccable! Can't wait to come back and try more.

Food was excellent. They have done a great job at making a fast casual Italian place while still maintaining good quality food you'd expect from Matteo. Pasta was perfectly cooked. The bread on the chicken parm was perfectly crispy. My wife and I got red wine which was nicely chilled. Our food came out extremely fast. My only critique would be the 5000k lighting and techno music that was playing wasn't the ambiance I'd pick personally. It is possible the faster music got people in and out of their tables quicker, but I think a dimmer switch and more chill music would go a long ways. We're excited to go back and try other items!

I haven't been to Matteo's yet but wanted to try their sister restaurant to see if it was worth! I think overall it wasn't a bad experience! You can tell this restaurant is new and that's okay! The lady at the front was very nice & she handled being the only worker/server during a dinner rush! I do think the inside is a little boring. I would like more decorations or made to feel more cozy. There were bright almost hospital like lights that I def would tone down a bit. For the food, I do think it was very tasty! the meatballs were yummy and pretty filling for an appetizer! Unfortunately my Vodka sauce was kind of bland. The description said there was pancetta but when I was looking I saw none! My fiancés sauce however was super tasty!

The inside of the restaurant is well appointed and I think fitting for the cuisine. Not overly decorated but nice vibe for a casual dinner. Food wise I would recommend the spicy Shrimp Scampi - the pasta was said to be house made and it showed. Great chew and a nice compliment to the spicy fresh scampi sauce. Only complaint would be leaving the tails on shrimp - basically have to deconstruct the dish to get them off. This is very common though so not a huge deal. I liked that the entrees come with a house salad to feel like a solid meal. The smokey pineapple cocktail was a little sweet for me but liked that there were some interesting options. Our sever Ayden did a great job with the larger group and had drinks and water well topped off. Overall I enjoyed Caffe Molise and if I'm back in SLC I would go here again.

The bar staff were quick to serve us, knowledgeable about their products, and made excellent cocktails. We were seated on the balcony, which had a wonderful ambiance. The garden setting was beautiful, the décor was tasteful, and the seating was comfortable. The serving staff were attentive throughout the meal. They were knowledgeable about the specials, offered appetizer suggestions, promptly cleared empty plates, and ensured all of our needs were met. Unfortunately, the food is where the experience dropped from a 5-star service rating to a 3-star overall rating. The fish was overwhelmed by a heavy tomato sauce that masked the flavor of the fish itself. The gnocchi was overcooked and swimming in sauce, resulting in a disappointing entrée. While the atmosphere and service were exceptional, the quality and execution of the food did not match the high standards set by the rest of the experience.

We easily made reservations and found street parking about a block away. We started with some delicious cocktails--the Lady Pleaser and Paper Plane--which were both delicious. We had the bread with whipped cheese and hot honey along with the grilled caesar salad and crudo for appetizers. They were all beautifully presented and delicious but the caesar blew us away and was one of our favorite bites of the night. We got a few more cocktails to enjoy with dinner--the Mezzin' Around and a gin, mint, and lime drink I forgot the name of. We enjoyed both of these as well. For entrees, I got the carbonara and my husband got the squid ink pasta with lobster. I've never seen more beautifully presented pasta dishes in my life. The flavor matched the beauty too--and the portions were good enough to take half home. My husband was incredibly happy with all the lobster in his pasta. We took a raspberry tiramisu home, which was also delicious. The bill came to $208 before tip, which matched the quality of the food and restaurant experience. I'm excited to come back and try other things as I believe the menu changes regularly.

There were two options and we chose the one with shrimp on romaine, burrata caprese, and melon with prosciutto. Then we shared the pasta sampler (which has a much cooler name that I can't recall because I don't speak Italian!). I was never a big fan of gnocchi but it was fantastic, served in a spicier tomato-based sauce. There was a spectacular butternut squash ravioli, spinach ravioli, and a spaghetti with an indescribably delicious cream sauce. Overall, that dish is NOT to be missed. We also had a special entree of beef tenderloin with mushrooms, shaved potatoes, and an oxtail sauce. We shared it because OMG food coma, which was a great call. We finished with the tiramisu *swoon* and the lemon gelato with lemon juice, local Utah honey, and sea salt sprinkles. I'm not a big lemon dessert fan and I wouldn't have normally ordered it (I had the tiramisu). The lemon gelato with honey had such a pleasantly unusual texture. The honey had the mouth feel of stringy cheese but the flavor of spring. The gelato was delicate and soft and the salt just amplified the experience. Zachary was our server. He's funny, extremely knowledgeable, and served each dish with an unforgettable flourish. I'm sure mine is just one more voice extolling the fabulousness of this restaurant, but it was a pleasure. For…read morewhatever reason, SLC has a ton of Italian restaurants, so finding one was a little overwhelming, but ultimately I settled on Lupessa. One of my requirements was cocktails, and those looked pretty good from what I saw on Yelp. The menu was intriguing as well. I knew I wanted to try the tuna tartare for sure. I made a reservation for us for 18:30 and we were greeted with a smile and quickly seated. The ambiance was beautiful. I loved the giant tree in the middle of the dining room, and the seats were so chic and comfy. There is a parking garage, so no need to worry about parking either. Our server promptly greeted us and we placed our order for our cocktails and the tuna tartare app. I went with the Truth or Pear (I'm a sucker for anything pear related) and my husband went with the Mezcal old fashioned. Both arrived to our table shortly before the complimentary bread did. That bread was oh so warm and fluffy, and came with the most delightful herb oil to dip in. The cocktails were good, smooth and well-balanced. The tuna tartare was next to arrive, and it was plated wonderfully. I was very excited to dig in. The bread was toasted to perfection, and the tuna was seasoned with the most delightful citrus notes, just as stated in the menu. It was a perfect combination of flavors, and my favorite dish of the evening. The portion was also generous in my opinion, and we definitely savored each bite. As far as our entrees, we both wanted pasta, and the bison rigatoni caught my eye immediately. The spicy rigatoni spoke to my husband as well, so that's what we both ended up ordering. The pasta was quite decadent, especially mine with the ricotta. We noticed a lot of people packing up leftovers, and quite frankly, if we weren't so hungry, we probably would have had leftovers as well. While the sauce was overall good, it was a little monotone. The rigatoni was also a little overcooked. I honestly expected more, especially coming from CA, where I am no stranger to quality pasta dishes hailing from restaurants in Carmel, Half Moon Bay, and similar towns. We left with our bellies full, and the service was great, but I wished our pasta dishes were better, especially for what we paid (which was comparable to what I've paid in CA, mind you). The tuna tartare was most definitely the highlight of our meal. The next time we're in SLC, I'd come back for the tuna tartare, but it looks like I'll need to do a more thorough search for restaurants that serve better pasta.

Our server was quick to apologize, had a fresh entrée prepared right away, and even comped the meal, which was greatly appreciated. The replacement dish came out hot and was much better. I also enjoyed a glass of red wine that paired nicely with dinner, and the complimentary bread was absolutely delightful--fresh, warm, and a great way to start the meal. One of my favorite touches was the beautiful cherry blossom tree in the center of the restaurant. It creates such a unique and inviting atmosphere and really adds to the overall dining experience. While there was a small hiccup with the food temperature, the excellent service and attention to making things right turned it into a positive experience. I would definitely return.
