I love bagels. They are one of my top 10 favorite all time foods. I thought I knew what bagels should taste like. I was so wrong! I have been told that the water on long island is what makes the bagels so good and it must be true because the egg everything bagel I got here with strawberry cream cheese was out of this world. Even the strawberry cream cheese from here was the best I've ever had; it was light and fluffy. Next time, I am definitely going to try the chocolate chip cream cheese. read more

Not much to say about this place. Its your typical one stop bagel shop. Seems like it would be a very busy spot due to the location in the Independent plaza. Prime real estate if you ask me. Its all about Location Location Location. However, a few flaws that I noticed. I went during a real busy time. When I got there the line was all the way to the outside curb. And they would just keep taking customers orders. So people would stand around for a few minutes waiting for the food and start crowding up the fridges. It was sorta funny trying to watch someone go to the fridges to grab a Nesquick or something. It was like watching an adult fighting to get to a drink at the bar at the Roxbury... Insanity. Not to mention customers who receives their order would walk out, and i watched as they bump everyone's arm that is sitting down trying to eat at the booths. The place is way to small for that vast amount of clients. I will give it to Strathmore bagels tho. They did seem to pump out the orders in a timely matter. Customer service was fair. For as busy as they seemed, They somewhat kept it together. You could tell the counter staff was beat. Just entirely exhausted for the amount of orders accepting and trying to get completed. My advice is to stop by on an Off peak time, and see if you can get that bagel crave taken care of without an issue read more

I questioned the amount not really fully understanding how it added up to be that much. The owner pushed his way over to the register and aggressively started ringing me up. He then announced to the whole store that his rent was $6,000.00 a month as if this was some sort of justification for his rude behavior. Never going there again. Four employees behind the register but somehow took 10 minutes to even get helped with only 2 people in front of me . Overall waited 25 minutes for a hungry man and bagel with cream cheese. The price of coffee keeps going up here, way beyond the normal rise in price. It usually taste very bad, too. He got very nasty with me because I didn't have enough cash on me and just had to run and get my wallet out of the car. Almost 4 bucks each for just a bagel with cream cheese!!What a rip off and it was garbage. Garbage food with the worst management I ever experienced. Bottom of the bucket for sure. I left a piece of my mind there because someone like this needs to know how much of a dirt bag he is. This man shouldn't be anywhere near food or associating with customers. The food is good and would give a higher rating but their customer service is poor. It gets way too crowded and they haven't done anything to account for it. The counter space is just a mass of people like Ellis Island during a busy time. Most of the staff is very curt and short which is understandable as they are very busy. A few are just rude. This is an ordinary bagel shop with poor customer service. Pay attention to your bill because items on the counter aren't marked. I picked up 2 small bags of Tate's cookies. My bill was much higher than expected so I asked the price of the cookies, they were 2.50 a pack $5 for 2, which is more than a large bag costs anywhere else. I didn't buy them & was told my order had to be rerung. I agreed and that annoyed the person. I suggested they mark them with the price to avoid this happening again.
