It's ok. Went for brunch on a Saturday around noon. There was a 20-30 minute wait. Staff seemed friendly and attentive... ordered French toast and mimosas. Wasn't really impressed. The fruit cup (oranges, strawberries, grapes& pineapple) came with a couple of visibly rotten pieces. The eggs were bland.. however, service was good. Our server was professional, nice and attentive... I might have to try the lunch/dinner menu to understand the hype. read more

When quarantine started, we went to this place all the time for curbside pickup. They gave us huge portions and it was hot and fresh. Staff is very friendly and will bring food to car and even help you put it in your car. Never had a long wait here . Great for getting something to eat and can even have a party here. The only bad thing I have to say was that I was sooo full, but the food was so good that I couldn't stop eating (I hate that!). We were very impressed with how nice it was when we walked in. My waitress was pretty and nice. We ate the fried chicken cutlet and the french toast. Portions were great! Very flavorful and not overly salted. The Strawberry has always been one of my favorite restaurants in Madison. A friend and I had lunch today and since I previously have enjoyed the fish special I ordered it again today. When my plate came I could hardly believe the tiny sliver of grouper on my plate. There may have been 3 bites of a very thin tail portion. The server was apologetic and the manager very defensive about how they carefully weighed 3 oz . The tab was $13 for the stingiest serving I have ever seen on a plate. They should be embarrassed . Hope they wise up and don't keep that policy in place. read more

First I want to thank them for fitting me in to their valentines dinner on same day notice. We arrived early and were promptly seated. Our servers and waiters quickly had our drinks and first course of butter grilled oysters which was a great start. Our second course was a lobster bisque which was lightly under salted but cured with some Louisiana hot sauce. Our third course was main entrees and I had the grouper which was ok and my SO had the filet which was unevenly cooked and under seasoned. The peach cobbler for dessert was delicious. Overall dinner was a success and the quaintness of the restaurant. One little pet peeve was the reaching over the table when clearing the plates but I got over it. read more

Found this gem in route to the beach using Yelp. I had the chicken wrap with cashews and grapes and my husband had the shrimp and grits. It was all fresh and delicious. Generous portions and great presentation. Came with biscuits & cinnamon butter! Add in nice atmosphere and friendly service for a definite win. read more

OMG, this place is SO good! We're from out of town and just stopped for dinner. We had crab claws for an appetizer. My kids' kid meals were all delicious. I had crab soup- they do not scrimp on the crab here like a lot of places do with soup. My husband had the seafood pasta. It was amazing. We also had the caramel pie, which was a little too sweet for me but my husband and kids loved it, and the strawberry bread pudding, which was a huge hit with all of us. I loved it, and I don't even like strawberries. We all decided if we are ever traveling this way again, we must come back! read more

We found this quant little restaurant through a yelp search and are very glad we did. The menu was small yet had plenty of options to chose from. We started with the fried green tomato appetizer and throughly enjoyed. Entree selection was the strawberry field salad and the tuna. The tuna was ordered medium rare and it was perfectly cooked and very flavorful. The zucchini on the side was also perfectly cooked. Nobody likes overcooked mushy zucchini. The salad was very fresh and large enough to serve as an entree. The grilled chicken was very moist and seasoned well. Our waitress was very personable and attentive. read more

I have been to this restaurant numerous times. It always fails to wow me. Tonight I paid $30 for a filet that's not trimmed and arrived bone cold. I asked the server where my blue cheese crust was and he delivered blue cheese salad dressing on the side. I returned the dish, which I normally do not do, and instead of cooking a new steak they simply microwaved this steak with blue cheese on the top. It was a terrible experience and no concession by the waiter on anything related to the bill for this horrible experience. read more

Ok! This was my first time here and it was for Sunday brunch. If you have never been here for brunch, get ready to get mad. Have been a regular for years and have always had a good experience. They do fish exceptionally well, although everything is top-notch. Try the Grouper served over Shitake mushrooms, with cream sauce and jumbo lump crab on top. Specials are outstanding. Sunday brunch is a fairly new addition and it has some very nice selections if you're looking for something nice (and maybe a Bloody Mary or Mimosa, too). In town for business and found this hidden gem. My boss stated the cream of clam soup was delicious as was the filet. Unfortunately, I took my family here on Saturday, 8/10/19. We were promptly seated in the room where the bar is. There was two other tables, already eating as we sat down. The bartender came over, took our drink order, then left to go fill it. A couple sat at the bar after we ordered. The bartender took their drink order, filled it, then went back and took their lunch order, entered it into their system... Still never brought our drinks, she then disappeared into the kitchen. We got up and left at that point. I handed the menus back to the hostess, and told her that the bartender wasn't interested in us... She mustered a "sorry" as we walked out. First experience at the restaurant and it was not a good one. Probably won't go back. They were not busy at all and had plenty of help that could have brought our drinks if instructed to. Seemed to be poorly run. Most employees seemed to be more focused on chit chatting with each other than servicing the few customers they had. High Hopes, but won't be back! read more

Pleasant surprise. With a name like Strawberry Cafe we didn't expect to have wild caught grouper smothered with crabmeat, great drinks, atmosphere and service. This might be a good restaurant but I don't know. My husband and I decided to check it out and we were seated right away. Then we sat there, and sat there, and sat there. There were at least five servers wandering around but nobody even spoke. Finally another couple came in and was seated next to us. They were greeted by name, obviously regulars. When someone came to take their order, even though we had been waiting at least 10 minutes, we decided to leave. I would not advise that you go here if you don't know the staff. read more

Awesome sauce! Amazing and charming. Out food was hot and fresh. I loved the interesting mix of flavors. I had the crab cake sandwich, and let me tell you the texture was great.
