Derrick decided that he wanted to reach back out and ask if I wanted to still purchase a vehicle. I reminded him of our last conversation and that nothing could be done. I also told him I did not have any actual numbers just estimates. Before I could finish the email. I got a text and a phone call. This place is so quick to spam you but less willing to work with you. When Derrick responded, this time via text - He no longer addressed me by name, however I was now "Sir" and his quote changed to shift in favor of the company. I reminded him of the counter offer and the approval needed to waive document fees that he still has not confirmed. It may have only been $500 but it was the minimal that they could do. I also told him I no longer wish to correspond with them as they do not try to work with customers. eBay is the perfect place to open you up to more reputable online classic car sales teams. These teams really go out of their way to make deals happen, take the time to explain their fees as well as assist with shipping. They are also more friendly. Search "classic trucks" - you may find a sweet local deal, but other sellers come up and so far - they have all been so much easier to deal with than Streetside. While I appreciate the business owners follow up. I do not need to see transcripts of my emails and texts as I have them as well and am very confident they will read as I discussed in the review. As well, the agent called, texted and emailed me for a response and when he got it didn't disclose in detail what the manager did - which would have been helpful - especially if these transcripts are readily available, one could see perfect opportunities for Derrick to engage and request a phone call to discuss in detail, give more detail or explanation or even suggest that an actual verbal conversation take place. If my business is wanted, read the transcripts of our conversation, see the ballpark I wanted to be in and see if after all the upfront fees are accounted for - if you can make it work. I'm very well aware that you know there are other online sellers and they offer the customer service and high quality that I didn't find in conversations with Derrick. Here we are a year later and I'm still paying for repairs on this so-called "quality restoration." I've elected to have a new motor built, because we can't seem to get it to run right (hasn't since the day the car arrived a year ago). Imagine buying a 65K car as a "fresh restoration" and having nothing but trouble then having to replace the motor altogether. Well, since the car had never had a front end alignment, as evident by the loose a-arm bolts, I took it to a place well known for classic cars. Guess what they discovered.. a bent spindle. It only took two shims on the driver's side but needed 6 shims on the pass side! More money and more work to be done on this 65K car! So, here's my message to Streetside; just be honest with potential buyers! Tell them you don't know anything about the car and cannot stand behind your advertisements. Just tell buyers you don't know of the car's history, how it was built or anything else for that matter. Just say you are buying at your own risk. Tucked away in a meandering business park is this huuge warehouse full of amazing vintage and collectable cars, trucks, wow. We were interested in seeing if 6'5" fiance could fit into a Kharmin Ghea (alas, no) but ended up trying on a number of classic muscle cars, some trucks, and the '74 Porsche 914 they have, sitting there looking gorgeous. The space is VAST and full of beautifully detailed machinery, and staffed by tolerant, knowledgeable dudes who don't seem to mind answering drooly questions, letting you sit in anything you dig, and offering frank advice on which cars would be a good fit (physically, in our case, and functionally, as in, what are good daily-drivers). Prices here range from waaay lower than you'd expect to more than you ever thought a 40 year old car could possibly be worth. Most of what they have is consignment. We easily lost track of 3 hours wondering around this place, and if we do end up purchasing some insane El Camino it will be from these dudes. read more

Bed of lies and apparently ignorance...They said the car went through a semi resto , not quite sure what that meant But, to use the business as a front for above board dealings and leave you hanging when the car won't drive safely above 50mph. Streetside Classics TOTALLY MISREPRESENTED the true condition of this car. It looked great, but mechanically it was a piece of junk. I was shocked and appalled when it was delivered. (And you will be too when you read the details below.) The bottom line is that some of this company's sales persons behave like unprincipled and unscrupulous shysters, and seem only interested in making money through unethical practices. Customer satisfaction is not even in their vocabulary. The following statements appear on the Streetside Classics website: 1--"Streetside experts will evaluate your vehicle alongside current market conditions and trends" AND 2--"The vehicle is INSPECTED for quality and ACCURATE REPRESENTATION by Streetside staff." And even though a Streetside sales representatives later admitted to me that "everyone knew this car had some severe issues" they still placed a glowing and FALSE ADVERTISEMENT on their website, as contained in the attachment below. IF THIS IS NOT GROSS MISREPRESENTATION AND DISHONESTY, I DO NOT KNOW WHAT IS. Unfortunately, I had to buy the car sight unseen and I stupidly believed them when they assured me that it was in great condition. The only thing wrong, they said at first, was that the turn signal light did not work on the dashboard and the horn did not work. What a pack of lies!! (They later admitted that it needed a new frame, but only after a third party identified this problem, And I did negotiate a $10,000 reduction in price to take care of the cost of the frame replacement. Alas, as you can see in the attachment, that frame turned out to be only the "TIP OF THE ICEBURG," and I have had to spend an additional $26,000 to make the car safe to drive. I gave them every opportunity to take the high road and help with the $26,000 worth of additional repairs this car needed, but they adamantly refused, saying that I agreed to buy it "as is." Of course, that agreement was based on a bed of lies and a total misrepresentation of the facts and would never stand up in court. (See the link below for details.)
