The Original Sandwich w/ Mac N Cheese
Jeremy R.

I was craving some hot chicken and this is one of the first places to pop up! Just walking in, I was greeted immediately with some great energy and knew it was going to be a good experience. Shout out to Angel for being super kind and helpful I got the original sandwich lunch combo and the portions were great! Loved the chicken sandwich itself and the Mac and cheese add on was definitely worth it :) They have a parking lot so finding a spot was easy and there's a good amount of both outdoor + indoor seating. Great music, great food, great people. Can't complain! I will DEFINITELY be back. Make sure to check it out!

I. LOVE. IT. HERE. $2 Tender Thursdays have changed my life. The service is absolutely impeccable. The lunch and dinner rush are seriously no joke here but they handle all the orders with such attention and care so the line moves fairly quickly. I have NEVER had a messed up order here unlike other chains and I think thats really impressive considering how high in demand they are. They have plenty of dining space both indoors and outside to accompany everyone.

Tenders - They are Quite Crispy
Makoto C.

I don't normally eat hot chicken despite it being very popular these days. I have gone to one iconic Los Angeles place that I thought was pretty good. Since I live close by I thought I'd deviate from my normal food styles and try some hot chicken. It's crispy. Really crispy. That seems so hard to find a place that can make it crispy even the next day when you take it out of the fridge. I personally found it too oily for my tastes but then again, I don't normally eat this type of food. I did not like it when it was hot (temperature). But when I put it in the fridge and took a piece out to try cold it was actually pretty decent. The fries were also crispy. The sauce it comes with is very good. The people working were very friendly and they have a huge parking lot. This place is popular as quite a lot of people were grabbing food as I waited for mine. I probably won't be back for a while and if I am, I'll make sure to eat it cold. I'm giving 4 stars for the style and crispness factor.

Chicken $2 Thursday
Jenny Z.

Stopped by for their $2 chicken tender Thursday deal and it was definitely bang for your buck! You get a big piece of chicken breast coated with a crispy batter and dry rub of your choice. Pretty cool that they had various levels of spice. Service was quick to take our order and I love that they have their own parking lot since LA usually has street parking. The inside was clean with a good amount of seats available. The corn ribs were more on the chewier than sweet and crunchy side and a tad difficult to eat. The chicken tenders were crispy and delicious. With their Thursday deal so affordable, I would def come back for them again! They also have a rewards program and $5 real milkshakes. A great spot :)

One of my favorite places to get chicken tenders. I've tried Dave's hot chicken but the chicken at red chickz has the crunchiest batter I've tried. It's similar to Korean fried chicken so not sure if they double fry it but it seems to work. I've tried their medium hot level but the bonfire level was just perfect level of spiciness for me. If you can handle spicy food then I would recommend you try that. Wish they had more locations in the LA or OC area which would make me get it more.

Crispy, crunchy, fast and they have a parking lot :) this was my first time here and I was happy with the quality. I usually get Medium for hot chicken sandwiches and it wasn't as spicy as I wanted. So next then I'll do the Hot! Cheese curds were fun. I didn't love the loaded mac and cheese bc it felt like there were more potatoes than noodles and the buffalo sauce was a little sweet for me but overall everything was tasty!

3 Tenders w/ Side Loaded Wedges

Not sure what took me so long to try! Martin R. helped us upon entering. Not only was he super nice and chill but very knowledgeable about the menu. I informed him it was our first time and he was great at explaining everything including the spice options. We ordered two piece tender with fries and Mac and cheese and a 3 piece tenders with fries. We ordered it with spark. He was even kind enough to let us try the spark spice prior to ordering it which was a huge help in making our decision. Everything looked amazing and tasted even better. I will also mention the tenders were huge lol and we had plenty of dipping sauce as well. We didn't wait that long once we placed our order and there wasn't a long line. Also PLENTY OF PARKING!! 10/10! Such a great first time experience. We will be back. So many others things we would like to try.

I have picked up from here quite a few times for delivery for Grubhub. It's definitely popular here on the west side. A lot of of the kids that get out of school come here and eat outside which on beautiful days like today is a great place to enjoy friends and food. They have recently put up signs for a lunch special. It's $9.99 and it includes fries or coleslaw. And it's not just for one item to choose from. Attached is a card that has all the items that are included in this deal. This special got me in the door so they are marketing tactics worked for me. I haven't tried their shakes, but I would like to. They have cold drinks, but not fountain drinks. That's kind of a bummer for me. They have sauces you can choose from also. They have parking which you know is a plus here. They also have seating indoors. So after getting home and indulging in the nice large piece of chicken in my sandwich, in my opinion, it was boring. I added their sauce that they add on their chicken and I added ranch. So what that said it wasn't great alone. They had pickles and a small amount of coleslaw. I like this deal I might be back for it and a shake and maybe try some tenders I'm not sure but I'm definitely going back to Dave's Hot Chicken so much better.

Jeffery N.

Starting off service was nice. Area was nice and clean. Got the loaded Mac and cheese this time. It was very solid. I think flavor wise, their signature sauce without the buffalo is already a bit on the tangy side for those like that. As for individual components, the Mac and cheese was solid, slightly above average but nothing crazy, the tenders were same as last time so pretty consistent, and the potato wedges at the bottom were actually really good. Great outer crisp and soft inside. Put all together, a bit carb heavy but enjoyable! That being said, I'd say this is the go to here, or a combo like this because the tenders alone isn't extremely juicy but solid for sure! Definitely shareable with two people with a couple extra tenders since it's extremely carb heavy. The serving size is huge, but I do think the ratio could be better since there was definitely an excess of the wedges in comparison to Mac and chicken. Def better than the first two times, would go back for the Thursday deal for sure!

Always like trying new sandwiches when LA. Recommended by a local, this small hidden gem is delicious. You can get a hot chicken sandwich, Nashville style and choose the level of heat. I got their "original" sandwich with medium heat and potatoes wedges. It will be worth the stop and the wait. Drop by in Culver City, you will not be disappointed. Glad the local named this place for his recommendation.

The Seven levels of heat, Country and Cool have no spice. Glow has seasoning for zesty spice not heat spice and Spark starts the heat

The Red Chickz lives up to the social media hype and actually in a world of over promising fanfare only to be disappointed... this actually over delivered to already lofty expectations and anticipation. This is destination dining. I drove from the South Bay Beach Cities, about 20 mins or so with light to no traffic and taking the 405 North freeway and streets. Not a huge hike nor inconvenient trek, but many who live within a small and defined social bubble who dare not venture beyond a few miles or minutes from their neighborhood... this might be considered "too far" for fried chicken strips. Well... I'm here to be a testimony to endorse the travel as being very well worthwhile to endure and get rewarded on a Thursday for their $2 Tenders Here's my review on the actual CHICKEN HEAT LEVEL Level 1 "Country Style" is my favorite, it's the basic chicken that's battered and fried. No spicy heat no seasoning, just pure flavorful batter and moist tender chicken (not sure if it's pre-marinated or not, but it's tasty). Level 2 "Cool" they described as "seasoned" not "spicy" so it has flavor to it but not hot spicy taste heat they state "No Heat" in the description. I like this second best. DISCLAIMER, I'm not a fan of spicy heat, so that's my bias. Level 3 "Glow" this is where the spice begins they told me. It's menu described as "Mild" heat. I tried it because although I'm not a fan of spicy chicken, and don't tolerate the Nashville "HOT" flavors, I'm often fine and won't faint with some mild levels. This was good and okay, where it wasn't too spicy, but when I taste chicken, I want to take the batter and meat more than the seasoning, so this was my 3rd favorite (you can probably see a trend here on how I grade) Level 4 "Spark" described to have "Medium" heat and it was okay. I could eat it without seeking water. I'm simply not a huge fan of spice so I'd put this in 4th place. I'd recommend you try several flavors. Level 5 "Hot" is supposed to be where Ghost Peppers are introduced, so I passed on trying it. I was going to consider it if Level 4 was a wimpy spice and could level up, but Level 4 was good enough and I stopped there. Level 6 "Bonfire" is X-Hot Level 7 "Inferno" is XX-Hot It goes without saying, if I passed on Level 5, I also did pass on Level 6 and Level 7. REVIEW OF THE CHICKEN... Quality and Quantity. The pieces are large sized, they basically feel like a full center cut white meat breast fillet in quality moist tenderness and size. It's roughly 2x as large as most "tender" / "strips" and one could feed a child or maybe even an adult. Two (2) is sufficient to fill a belly even without sides. I'm going to say that the $2 Thursdays is a good price, good deal. It's a perfect price point that affords people to try more "risk free" and indulge. I did not purchase any of the "Sauces" as I enjoy the flavor of chicken and feel that any food that requires a "sauce" to potentially override and mask the flavor of the original food might mean the food is sub-par, needing a flavor boost. I apply that logic to steaks (no steak sauce!), fish and anything else, aside from BBQ (which often can be dry and need moisture) foods. So, I'm saying for me here at Red Chickz... I didn't need any sauce. If it was "free" (complimentary) I'd consider trying them to taste test review, but as an added expense it seemed unnecessary (and ultimately, I love my food fine without any sauce) They're great fresh and hot as they cook to order. I had to wait about 30 minutes (I personally blame ordering the Milk Shake that's easy for the kitchen to hold off or neglect for the added delay) but feel the average is probably 10-15 mins when it's not busy and then 20-30 mins when it is busy, taking in account they cook fresh to order. I got the "App" and registered to join their loyalty club and got a free order of "Donuts" desert by ordering. It was tasty and fresh. So, after this experience, I'm wanting to try their Jumbo Shrimp and Potato Wedges. I'd probably stick to the tenders for the pure protein play over a sandwich with the filing carbs of the bread. The Milk Shake was okay, not bad at all, but consumes calorie and sugar allocations so I could easily do without the shake ($4 sm / $5 med), but was worthwhile trying out. Parking seemed like it could be tough in both finding a space and navigating the parking lot, but it wasn't too bad when I visited shortly after traditional lunchtime (post 12pm noon). The line wait wasn't much of a wait to order. The wait, as mentioned was more in the food prep as they do cook fresh to order as mentioned and it's not just a ton of chicken waiting to put into boxes under a heat lamp. It's FRESH. This is one of my more memorable experiences I was enthusiastic to share about on Yelp (with this review and the photos) as well as recommend to my friends. Lastly... "The Service" was very friendly and helpful, assisting me with the APP. No complaints here.

I love this place, Delicious food, Friendly staff. And would come again! Highly recommended!

The chicken strips are Amazing!! The 1st time I tried this establishment was at their Downtown LA location. I went last Thursday to the Culver City location and enjoyed their $2 Chicken Strip deal. The tenders were perfectly cooked, seasoned great, had the right amount of crunch and heat. I paired it with their ranch dressing and thoroughly enjoyed every bite!! The staff was courteous and the establishment was well-maintained. I have every intent to return to their restaurant!

I was a little concerned about some of the reviews but we had such a wonderful experience. A lot of the negative reviews had to do with customer service, and our experience was quite the opposite. We were served everything quickly and attentively, and our main server gave great recommendations and apologized for "waits" when there wasn't even a wait! After we were seated, we asked to be moved to the pretty spacious table next to the large window, and they were happy to accommodate. Giving us a memorable experience seemed to be very important to all of the staff. Drinks - I fell in love with the Dillinger (Old Forrester, Mexican corn whiskey, licor de elote). It tasted like a slightly sweet kettle corn old fashioned. My husband actually ordered it, and traded drinks with me because I loved it so much. Food - We ordered the scallop crudo to share, the house baguette, and French onion soup to share. I'm glad we ordered the scallops and the strawberry pairing was unexpected and interesting. My personal fave was the soup, which our servers kindly split into 2 tureens for us to share (soup is pretty hard to share otherwise, amirite?) It was so delicious that I found myself peeling the extra cheese from the bowl. For mains, I went with the Tagiatelle and husband ordered the steak frites. While the pasta was delicious and rich with flavor, the wagyu was one of the juiciest, most tender and well-seasoned steaks I've had in a while and I'm not even a big steak/red meat lady. I even made a reservation in advance to be seated outside, so finding out afterward that this wasn't the case was not ideal. Instead, I found out the menu being advertised is actually just a happy hour menu ... NOT a World Cup game menu, like advertised... and it's only available at the small bar. This distinction needs to be made crystal clear upfront, because customers like me show up with completely different expectations based on your own marketing. When I showed the manager the IG post to ask about the discrepancy, they were very rude about it instead of trying to help or explain. The lack of transparency already felt misleading, and the way it was handled in person made it so much worse. On top of that, the service left a lot to be desired. For a place that's marketing itself as a game-day destination, you need to do better, both in how you communicate your offerings and how you treat your guests when they call it out. All in all, the experience was bad. The beer was flat, the atmosphere was off and I wouldn't recommend this place for any occasion, be it a sporting event or casual dining.

We were able to find street parking near Nardo and upon arriving at the restaurant front, found this place to be almost at full capacity! We're lucky we arrived for early dinner and the host was able to squeeze us in. We opted to get a pizza and 2 pasta. Now, my husband is not a huge pizza guy so a compliment from him is HUGE. We got the Nardo pizza and man the crust was so memorable. As for pasta, we got the bucatini and was very impressed by the sauce as well. If it weren't for the far drive, we'd absolutely be coming back. What an amazing find!

NOOO! Don't go!…read more Reliable quality, guaranteed good food.  They do healthy like the Hummus & Crudite, a pretty, bright plate with so many veggie flavors. They all interact a little differently with the hummus, which is really fun. Silky cubes put some sweetness into an earthy, crunchy papadum in the Yellowtail & Pomegranate Crudo. Standout sauce. Lunch is a bit of a limited menu, not that it's unreasonable to offer mostly salads and sandwiches. And I did enjoy the Wagyu Beef Burger - it's a very good burger, no complaints, and fries are usually a throwaway, but theirs have a more savory finish, and the aioli has the perfect hit of acid.   Akasha got a lukewarm review from my first visit, but I do like them overall and am sad to see them go.

Not sure why this place got three dollars signs. I've come here a few times for lunch, and I think…read moretheir prices are very reasonable, given the quality and quantity. There are many restaurants in the Culver City downtown area. This is always my choice for eating healthy without sacrificing too much taste. I love their salads, we usually order one to share. Bowls and pizzas are good too. If you prefer to "eat, happy", versus "eat healthy", their burgers and meat dishes won't disappoint. Great service! They are tentative, friendly, but don't bother you too much. Ambience is casual and relaxing. They're right next to the Culver City public parking structure so very convenient and you pay less parking to eat here than most other restaurants in the area.
