I will never go back here again we ordered a pizza a few weeks ago end it was delivered with a long hair in it no one in my family has blonde hair. so we called the pizzeria and they told us there was nothing they could do. What type of restaurant does not even own up to the fact that they delivered you a pizza with hair in it, absolutely disgraceful. Great deal! My husband and I stumbled upon this place as we were exploring the area today. I ordered the lunch portion baked ziti and it came with a side salad plus three count em THREE garlic rolls. My entire meal was $7. Awesome value. He got a calzone which was large in size as well. I don't remember the exact price on his but it wasn't more than $10. Plus, we both had leftovers due to the large portions. I would definitely come back to this place. My only reason for giving 4 stars instead of 5 was customer service. Two men with Stromboli polls on were seated at a table during our visit (one was behind the counter by the time we left) and there was no greeting from them. It was safe to assume they were owners or managers of some sort and we received no acknowledgement from them. The girl that took our order was nice, but nothing over the top. read more

Walked in and was pretty shocked. Nobody wearing masks or gloves, floor was filthy, employees wearing dirty clothing with sweat stains. The place was dark and smelled BAD. Walked up to the counter was rudely told "You gonna order something or what". Quickly walked out. Will never return. It's ok. Just ok. What is is: Authentic NYC pizza. The kind with a thin crust, that you can fold over and eat. What if Isn't: The best pizza in Orlando, or even the best pizza in Winter Garden. There's nothing "wrong" here, but also nothing stands out. My guess is the sauce is pre-made. The crust is the often under-cooked, pliable kind, and not the crispy kind with the brown areas I love. On the plus side, pizza here is available by the slice. I stop in often if I'm in the Publix shopping center and needing a quick lunch. Unfortunately this is the closest pizza joint to us and as much as I try to avoid this place sometimes it is the only option. Wife ordered a large cheese pie and garlic knots. Upon arriving home and opening both the pizza and the garlic knots were so over cooked they were hard like leather. The pizza is still flavorless as always but now a flavorless piece of cardboard. I actually like the pizza here. It's not Gittos but it's better then NYPD. delivery times are from 45-1h15m which is fine. Once I was delivered the wrong pizza through a 3rd party delivery service. The girl up front is rude and not very understanding. She told me to contact deliverer. I tried explaining to her her job to make sure I get the correct food. I had to speak to the manager to get any action taken to fix it. the manager kindly delivered a fresh pizza, fast too. I don't get why the girl is at the register. She needs to be assigned another duty other then interacting with customers. read more

This is the best pizza I have ever had in my life and I have lived in Chicago and tried other pizzas around the country.

We stopped in here based on the recommendation of a friend. We were in the area and in the mood for pizza. We had heard that the area had some pretty good pizza, so we gave this place a shot. We arrived with the minions in tow, right before the afternoon football game rush. There were not any other customers in the restaurant, but the phone began ringing pretty solid....usually a good sign of quality. We were greeted by a very nice young lady working the counter. She was enthusiastic and helpful, even providing recommendations and engaging in conversation. Although we were there for pizza, my eyes were immediately drawn to the veal cutlet sandwich on the menu. Most pizza places don't even bother to go with veal down here, so I was excited. I convinced my wife to split a sandwich ($11.75 with no sides) and we opted for an XL 18' inch pizza ($15) to feed the kids and dip into ourselves. I did ask her whether the veal was fresh or frozen, and she not very confidently told me it was fresh. As we were hungry, we also ordered some garlic knots (which oddly enough DO NOT come with sauce. They require you pay an additional $1.80 if you want sauce, but the girl was kind enough to provide this at no charge when I tried to order it after the fact. Still stupid...). The knots came out first, and they were alright. They were oily, but not very much garlic. They were pull apart, similar to what you may find in the store and take home and bake. But they were still good and satisfied the crave while we were waiting for the food to come out. Both entrees came out at the same time. The pizza looked good, like a typical NY style pizza. The veal cutlet sandwich looked larger than expected, but slightly blackened (maybe older fryer oil?). The pizza turned out being pretty good, average for a local NY pizza joint. The cheese was fresh, sauce light, but the crust was a bit crispier than I am used to. I am the only one in the family that kills off the crust after the pizza, but it just didn't do it for me. I also had much higher expectations for my sandwich. The bread was the clear hero (no pun) as it was slightly crispy on the outside, but nice and soft inside. The cutlet was much thicker than expected, and was more like a cut of sirloin rather than a tender cutlet. It took some work with the front teeth and incisors to be able to break up the meat. The meat was also very juicy, which made it seem like it was indeed frozen previously. There was little sauce (luckily, I had extra sauce from the knots), and ample cheese. I really could have gone for half the meat if it were simply pounded out as a cutlet and a little better quality. For the price of the sandwich, it wasn't horrible, but I have high expectations when it comes to veal. Overall, we couldn't mutually decide whether this was a 2 or 3 star restaurant. I am going with three, because I didn't think it was horrible. Perhaps we caught the cooks on an off day or just didn't order the right things off the menu. Others insist that it is a good place, and they very well may be right. It just didn't do it for any of us. read more

This is a very sad review. My wife and I used to RAVE about this place, and always made going to Stromboli's a family event at least once a month. The dough was flavorful, the sauce was exquisite, and the toppings were always fresh. There was no other experience quite like it. We have been going here since 2010 and have been loyal customers ever since! Well, that started to go down hill a few months ago when one of our orders was quite hard and tasteless. We thought nothing of it, everyone is allowed to have a bad day. The month after that we ordered a Calzone. The cheese was not cooked all the way through and dough was heavily undercooked. We started to notice a pattern, but as loyal customers decided to blow it off. The moment the Stromboli's dream ended for us was last weekend, when we ordere a few large pizzas and some of their "puffies" (deep fried doughballs). Not only was everything stiff and greasy, the ingredients where tasteless and over cooked. It tasted like pizza that had been left out at Room temperature for days. It was by far one of the most disgusting things I have ever tasted. As good patrons, we immediately called back to inform them of the issues. We got a standard apology and were offered a full refund by the lady on the phone. Damage had already been done, but it was a nice gesture nevertheless. I was told the credit would post 3 business days later. 10 days later, no refund. So, we call back to inquire. After some discussions, we are transferred to Jay, who claims to be "running the joint." As he takes charge while belittling his staff, he claims we never made an order in the first place. Said there could be no refund unless one of the owners authorized it and that the cashier we spoke to was wrong. Offers to give us a store credit instead. Otherwise, we would have to bring the original debit card of purchase and the person who it belongs to. Sadly, this round was my father-in-law's treat and he lives in Tampa. One star may be too harsh for many. But when you are a fanboy of the place, the expectations are always higher. I hope my review will make someone at Stromboli's wake up and change something. If they continue this way, they will go out of business... and that would be a tragedy for us all. Please find your way guys, bring the good ole stuff back! read more

They weren't that friendly and they forgot our salad in our takeout order. When we want pizza in the local horizon west area, we always order Stromboli's delivery. It's the best.

I like Stromboli's. The pizza is really really good. It IS a bit pricey. The only way to get around it is to sign up for the club or emails specials. I've also had their meatball appetizer, different garlic knots (try the puffs, they are AMAZING) and their hero subs. Again, all very good. The one time I did delivery, I noticed they charge $3 for that, so I am paying that in addition to tipping the driver, so delivery gets pricey too. I did order a salad once, and it left something to be desired. Although the salad was large in portion, it felt thrown together with whatever ingredients were used for pizza, not worth the hefty price tag. Also- the menu is extensive for a "pizza place" with a lot of options, however, there is nothing with a white sauce, everything comes with a tomato base. If you are looking for something along the lines of fettuccine Alfredo, they don't have it. I will be back certainly, as the food is very good. However, this is a splurge for us, not a weekly Friday night pizza place. read more

New to the neighborhood, stopped in to try this for our Friday night pizza. So glad we did! I was a little put off since this was not a true "restaurant" setting, but the constant line and phone ringing made me stay. Pizza dough and bread for sub was so fresh. Chewy and crisp at the same time like it should be! Asked if the tiramisu was homemade, it is not. It is frozen in bowls and comes in, I wasn't a fan. The staff were beyond helpful and polite. Pizza was ok but over $25 for one pie is a lot and the bigger issues was we got it delivered and they said 45min to and hour and it took an hour and 40 mins to finally get to us and the pizza wasn't hot any more. I swear I've written a review of this place but it's nowhere to be found and not in the hidden reviews. Oh well... Just moved from NJ and the reviews of this place were kinda promising. Sadly it's FAR from NYC pizza. I've tried the place easily 4 or 5x bc it's so close to home but finally gave up trying to like anything on the menu. The pizza wasn't bad the first time we went but the cheese was a cheaper mozz that pretty much liquefies when heated. And not in a normal hot mozz kind of way. The stuffed shells and manicotti all seem to be microwaved and dry the few times we tried them too. Antipasto salad? More of the same. Cheap ingredients for everything we ordered. Also...what type of 'authentic' Italian NYC pizzeria doesn't carry just plain olive oil and vinegar??? The only options we had every time for our iceberg salad was the tubs of gross fake Italian dressing (and other dressings) that wholesalers sell. Really?? Not even a bottle of real Italian olive oil? Not too far from where I live, this is my go to Pizza place and I'm happy it is. The pizza is always amazing as are the garlic knots. It is the closest to NY style Pizza I have had in the Orlando area and love ordering from here. I should mention that anything that's not Pizza should be ordered at your own discretion. This isn't an Italian restaurant so don't expect great Italian Dishes. Stick to Pizza and you will be very satisfied. (The Cannoli is an exception to this rule). Highly recommend. read more

Granted, I haven't lived in NJ for over 15 years but it seems pretty close to me! The crust was a great consistency - chewy with a nice crispness. I did not think the sauce was bland at all, not overpoweringly spiced but a nice mellow flavor. The cheese stuck very nicely. And it had the same "grease" from the cheese so the cheese must be the right kind :) The garlic rolls, which are usually referred to as garlic knots, were good. Very "scampi" tasting. The price for a cheese pizza was very reasonable but I agree that once you start adding toppings, the price does get a little high. Though, the 18" is HUGE so I can understand why it would cost a lot to top the pizza - but since all we got was 1/2 black olives, not sure how heavy the toppings would be on one of the pricier pies. read more

The 5 star rating describes this place perfect. As good as it gets. I am originally from the Bronx and this is the closest you will get to a true authentic New York City pizza shop. It is impossible for anything down here to be as authentic as NY pizza because of the water but this place works some magic. Almost everything here is made from scratch, and is made fresh to order. If you are in a hurry be sure to call ahead of time as they do not keep food sitting around all day only to be heated up when you come and order. They do have a big menu for a pizza place and I have had a number of items and have never been disappointed. If you have migrated to this area from the northeast or are visiting from out of town and need a NY pizza fix, this is your place. read more

Recently ordered a slice of cheese and slice of Sicilian and wings to go. Reasonable amount of time waiting for the food and even after the drive home it was still hot and fresh. So NYPD pizza was not a answering phones tonight so I decided to try this place again been a while and now I know why...called in order and it was a small order 1 spinach roll 1 sausage garlic rolls and zeppoles ...busy at pick up but all ok...told girl on phone 1st last name and phone number and had her read it back and it was what I ordered.. still could not find my order...5 mins later found in the mounds of orders ..10 min drive home and again why trust them right!! This is what I got 2 spinach rolls warm garlic rolls and dough balls with about a pound of powered sugar....should have gone with PIZZA HUT....good luck people when you order here... read more
