I can't make a fair decision on whether I enjoyed my struggle Town experience or not. That would be because my food was ice cold. I went to pick up my food at 6:45 which is the time it was expected to be done and waited for 20 minutes while the kid behind the counter served his friends and played around. My food was within my sight the entire time and the guy behind the counter was just too busy with his friends to realize that my order was up. Maybe try finding better help instead of high school kids who don't really give a hoot. read more

Recently tried. Disappointed. $23 for what I felt was a meager portion of pastrami (maybe five 6-inch x 1.5-inch thin slices, sides of beans and coleslaw. Acknowledging that taste is personal, my opinion is that the beans were overly sweetened, and the coleslaw flavor and consistency felt factory made. $5 for two pieces of cornbread. Finally had a chance to try bbq. I ordered ribs and brisket. The brisket was on point tender amd flavorful. The ribs presentation was on point. They were sauced which I normally don't like. However my issue with the ribs they needed to be cooked more a bit chewey needed to be just shy of falling off the bone. They would of great if this parameter would of been met. read more

We ordered the ribs platter with Mac and cheese and corn bread and the pulled chicken with golden sauce. The ribs were excellent and actually had a lot of meat compared to some places you order ribs from. The pulled chicken was great as well. The cornbread really stole the show, it had a nice vanilla flavor too it. I wasn't impressed with the Mac and Cheese unfortunately, seemed kind of bland didn't really have a cheesy taste too it. I see this food truck all the time at heritage park and having a desire for "real" BBQ decided to partake. For $31 dollars I got 10 wings and a brisket sandwich and could not have been more pleased. Me and my wife split it all and it was so delicious and amazing. (It was a very big, overflowing, healthy sandwich) I wish these guys good luck and considering how rare good/any bbq is avail. around here, I will buy anytime all the time I see them. We got take out tonight. When we called in our order, the person that answered the phone couldn't answer any of our questions/had no idea if any of the menu items were still available. He had to ask someone else while we were on the phone with him if they still had ribs and brisket and he also had no idea what the pie of the night was? As we hung up the phone we heard someone in the back ground say "actually I don't think we have ribs left.". Then we got to the restaurant to pick up our order we watched other people walk in getting handed menus, only to be told after them taking their time to choose want they want to be told the restaurant only had chicken left. That's something to be told while the menu is handed out. Lots of people walked out because of this. The food was decent. It was clear we got the last of a couple of things as the portions seemed... to be the end of the batch. I won't go into specifics why I think that because everyone has their own food preferences. But, for $60 for two people and the food only being decent and the customer service lacking, I don't think we will be going out of our way to go here again any time soon. Maybe after a year once they get their stuff together. Understandable as a new restaurant. But to advertise on social media that you're constantly selling out early isn't necessarily a good look. The first weekend or two sure. But after that IMO you should be able to figure out how much food you need to operate. I wish them the best as I think BBQ is a good addition to this area, and I also have hopes they will get better as the months go on. Good luck, y'all. Hopefully we will see you soon. read more

Wanted to try Struggletown for so long! Finally was able to now that's it's a store front. Food was good. We had the pulled chicken and brisket. Make sure you get bbq sauce(unless you like it dry with only the rub) because it has none on top. They have a few choices to choose from. Corn bread was delicious. We've gone to their restaurant several times now, and this place is consistently amazing. As a barbecue snob, this by far the best barbecue I've had outside of Texas, and is on par with some of the best down there. The brisket is delicious, and clearly smoked at a low temperature for an extended time. The fries are excellent, and the pulled pork is also delicious. They also seem to cook plenty of food each day, as we've gotten it for dinner and they hadn't yet run out of meats. The staff is also super friendly, and has helped me carry my food out to the car. Had the bbq from the truck located near PJ garden center or AGWAY. The food was really good but I could not enjoy as much as I wanted since bbq is messy and hard to eat "neat" in a car. Any how the pulled pork was amazing had a sweet smoky flavor and was juicy. As for the wings my family ate them so fast I was only able to take a bite. In that bite I tasted smoky deliciousness, not over cooked just right. The bbq sauce they were in was delightful as well. We had brisket that day which was tasty and soft not the best not the worst. They were out of burnt ends:( so we could not try. As for the bill it was a lil on the high side for a truck and no atmosphere but we like our bbq. Keep,on keeping on STown BBQ. We will hopefully await a brick and motar so we can break bread properly. TY for the good food read more

My daughter hired the food truck for her engagement party of about 120 people. They were great. They came with plenty of helpers and set up on the driveway. There was plenty of food and variety of foods. The leftovers were just as good as the day of the party! There was not one person who didn't have something good to say about the food. read more

What started with an exciting and promising eating experience, Struggletown BBQ led to a nightmarish, freakish, and questionable end. I ordered 1/2 pound of pulled pork and 6 wings. I was disappointed that even for dine in they came in plastic containers. After my meal I had not quenched my appetite yet paying 25$ for my food, and something felt missing. On my way home, I noticed something wrong brewing in my stomach. A wave of cramps and pressure mounted in my digestive system, leaving me with no choice but to defecate in my car uncontrollably. No, this is not a joke... this was my reality. I would not have been able to tell the difference if I were given Struggletown BBQ or laxatives at this point, due to the sheer nature of this ferocious and vicious stomach attack. Imagine hiring someone for catered a event for 100 people (2 weeks ahead of event). You're in direct communication with the owner who responds "yes absolutely" we can provide the food for your event. Sent a list of what we are requesting and they respond with "we will send you a quote." Inquiries made up to 3 days before the event, still no response. Ghosted. Now forced to scramble and find other ways to provide food for 100 people on a busy graduation weekend. Not a way to run a business, especially for a local event in your community. Plus the food almost twice the price as local competitors (with equally good reviews and food). Shame shame shame read more
