40 years ago I made the mistake of ordering Chicken Parm in Maine. I was served an unbreaded chicken breast, covered with ketchup and sprinkled with grated parmesan cheese. At least that's what it probably said on the label of the plastic shaker from which it came. One would think I would have learned my lesson. The staff at Stubby's was friendly and prompt, so no complaints about the service. The server, however, raved about the stromboli, declaring it to be the best in Lancaster, and telling me he always had one in his freezer at home. I should have known better. Good stromboli in Lancaster? But, since he raved about it, I thought I'd take the risk. Maybe I'd be surprised. Big mistake. Who puts mustard on a stromboli? Well, I can't blame Stubby's. I'm sure the rest of the menu, which is pretty much what you would find at any "pub", is perfectly fine. One must take responsibility for one's own poor decisions. If you think mustard goes with stromboli and marinara, this is the place for you. read more

Apparently had an incident on 8/28 at your Olde Hickory Road location ....we are new to Lititz and purchased a house which is 10 minutes away. Unfortunately, it's not an ethnic suitable environment...tried to play some R&B, Latin, Reggae, and hiphop music on the Touchtone and had my songs deleted.....the white patrons did not like it, but the staff permitted their music....White Patrons were making unwelcome comments to my Wife and I who happen to be Hispanic. The bartenders seemed to cater to the white patrons.....The strange part is you Lancaster location does cater to a variety of music genre's, which includes R&B and Latin music. It's disappointing since my wife and I are wealthy Floridian's who move our family and multi-million-dollar company to Lititz to escape the racism in Florida. Today we experienced the same behavior at Stubby's......just sad since our go-to-spot in Wellington Florida (Oli's Restaurant) made 200K a year from my service alone... Great food great service. They were a little busy during prime time dinner but the waitress was quick with the drinks and food wait was reasonable. Beers were cold and filled to the brim. I had the Buffalo chicken wrap and my friend had the chicken cheesesteak. Both were fresh and delicious. The onion rings weren't ready on time so they sent them out 2 minutes later with a second sandwich and take out box. Classy move. Full disclosure: the onion rings were worth an extra 2 minute wait without apology. read more

The front of the building is very deceiving as to how large it is inside. It was a Friday night, pretty busy but we were seated immediately. There were a few large parties there but it did not slow down us receiving our food in a timely manner. Claude was walking around supporting his staff by serving and also talking with guests. That is always nice to see. When he came over to talk with us he thanked us for coming in. We had the cheese steak sandwich, garlic wings, Cesar salad and everything was delicious. We sat at the bar and were greeted promptly and friendly. Lots of football fans and locals but everyone was smiling and having fun. I ordered the cheeseburger with a side of fries and hubby ordered the medium wings with a basket of fries. Bartender immediately said-nope, he is getting fries, no sense in charging you more money! Great service! Cheeseburger was cooked well and was juicy and quite big. Wings were good and pretty big. Fries were good too! Great little place that we wish we could transport to our neighborhood! The thing about this bar is that it is open late and the kitchen is open until about 1 AM. The beer was fine as beer tends to be. The bad thing is the fries were soggy unfortunately. Soggy fries in a sports bar kind of a disappointment that's why I only gave three stars. The pierogies as an appetizer!! great tomato bisque was also very creamy and a nice taste of bacon. Stumbled in with a large after-wedding party late on a Sunday night. The staff and locals were extremely patient and friendly with our group. The wait staff and kitchen crew provided drinks and food in a timely manner and never made us feel like we needed to hurry out as it was getting close to last call. The food quality was great. I had the sliders which were cooked perfectly and I enjoyed a few pirogies that got the approval from a PA native in our group. The food is good buttt. Their prices are out of control. A few examples compared to other nice establishments that we visit. These comparisons are all the same size. Large cheesesteak at Stubbys $19.50 , Pasquale's which actually has more meat and taste a little better $14.50, 1/2 dozen wings Stubbys $10.50 , Pasquale's $7.99 , 12oz Heineken Stubbys $6.50 ,Shanks Tavern $4.00. Also I could get 2 cheesesteaks at Shanks for $22. This is just a few examples. read more

IM TRULY IMPRESSED! How do you keep a neighborhood bar and grill thriving, great food, awesome staff and a personable owner. Every dish was piping hot, every single dish! Let's start with the Chesapeake wings, hot tasty and like we asked for them extra crispy. Big thumbs up for the wings. I ordered the Ceasars chicken wrap, wait I was not ready! It was a warm wrap!!!! I was expecting a cold Ceasar wrap with cold dressing, parmesan cheese and grilled chicken, nope a delicious warm wrap of goodness. I think I will like my wrap warm like this from now on lol. My husband had the burger and onion rings which he can't stop talking about. It what made the experience even better was two very attentive young ladies who were SUPER nice and took great care if us, beyond exceptional customer service. She even gave us a heads-up that the wings would take about 25 minutes, nice. Even the owner stop by our table to see how we were enjoying our food. My Dad is moving up to one of the local retirement communities in the area, and I wanted to find a great burger joint. Stubby's did not disappoint. From the outside you would never know the greatness that lies within this neighborhood bar and grill. - The absolute cleanest bar I have ever been in. From where I was sitting you could peek in the kitchen and it was immaculate as well. When I went to the bathroom it was spotless. This all spiked my curiosity so I started looking for something, ANYTHING, dirty. I looked at the air vents, the ledges, underneath tables, windows, and on and on. Every table was spotless, every chair pristine, and not a crumb to be found under either. -Great service. Hillary was very attentive and checked in from time to time to make sure everything was good...and it was. -Possibly the best burger I have ever had. Cooked to medium perfection and exactly as ordered. We drove past many other choices to get here and I am very glad we did. read more

From out of town and was in search of a place to eat before a Barnstormers baseball game. Stubby's is a place you might ride right by but thanks to Yelp we found it. On street parking and a lot down the street. The place was hopping for a Saturday afternoon. No room at the large bar but found a high top just across from it. TV's were strategically placed with multiple sporting events. We were heartedly greeted almost as soon as we were seated. Definitely a locals hang out but we felt right at home. The food was top shelf bar fare. Pierogis were our appetizer. Cooked perfectly with sautéed onions and sour cream on the side. The jovial bartender who took our order assured us without prompting that he had put our sandwich order in so that we we have time to enjoy this treat. Sure enough our Stubby cheesesteak and cheeseburger wrap arrived just as we were finishing the pierogis. Both meals were hot and flavorful. Stubby's has everything I look for in a neighborhood sports bar. -The menu has a nice variety of pub fare, highlighted by the great cheesesteaks, buffalo wings, and a surprisingly good grilled cheeseburgers. -The bar is stocked with most liquors and brands if you want cocktails. One thing I would change is their draft beer selection, not many craft beers to choose from other than Troegs seasonal. -Service is usually friendly, fast, and accommodating. These servers work very hard, seriously there's usually only one or two people working the whole room, you will be impressed. So in conclusion Stubby's is a great place to come enjoy some good food, watch a game, and hang out with some cool people. The atmosphere is fun and relaxed, plenty of HD TV's and good music. Was visiting friends in Lanc and they said we should order pickup from here- at first I was bummed we couldn't customize the Stromboli BUT it was one of the best Stromboli's I've had in my life so kudos to them! also the cheese waffle fries were amazing and my friend new to ask for some kind of garlic aoli drizzled in them- so good! read more

Went to this local bar when visiting Lancaster. What a great call! The place is in a quaint neighborhood. Parking lot available specially for them. Went inside and was greeting by the bartender. Nice long bar, plenty of room. Also plenty of seating. Lots of TVs on the wall with sporting events. We got onion rings to start. They were served with a great dipping sauce with a little kick. Then we got We got the Northend cheesesteaks. Not your traditional Philly cheesesteak, had a little kick to it. Great food, great atmosphere, great experience. read more

Totally blown away by this little neighborhood bar we found while looking to catch a game, within walking distance from the downtown Marriott. I am posting this because of their excellent wings. Just awesome, perfectly fried, crunch and the snap/pop of meat coming off the bone. I had the philly cheez steak with wiz, it was really good, the large is VERY large, after the wings and French Onion Soup, I could not finish it. The French Onion Soup was okay, hey its a bar, but nevertheless, pretty decent. The gals that work the bar are supper friendly and hustle, they know all their customers by name. A man, that was like 4 feet tall walked in and greeted everyone, going from person to person, asking how they are doing, how their meal was..... I can only surmise that this was el jefe, Stubby.
