I was craving a a steak after a long weeks worth of work and to my surprise this spot is located right in downtown Fullerton! Ahh college day memories of DTF. Lol. We were seated towards the back and the front is a full on bar. Seating in the back was very limited and I'm glad my girlfriend and I came right in before the dinner rush. I was looking at the menu and the price for a 16 oz steak was well worth it. I ordered a 16 oz rib eye and it included two additional sides + your choice of a soup or salad. The waitress came out with our soup which was the Stubrik's Homemade soup. The soup was bomb! It was pototoes mixed with broccoli and cheese, honestly had the same textures and feel to a clam chowder. Super bomb, I wish I had ordered some to go. My Rib Eye came with my choice to steak fries and mushrooms. The mushrooms was fire and the way my steak was cooked was perfect. The top of the steak was crispy and the 16 oz I def had to to go it haha. Portion size and additional sides was super affordable. My girlfriend ordered the mahi mahi and that was also amazing. She really enjoyed it and the presentation looked so mouth watering. I had a few bites of it and if you love fish, this is a great recommendation. It was crispy and juicy on a few bites I had. Interesting place with two sides - a bar side and a restaurant side. We had never been here before and entered off of Commonwealth which is the bar side and where we were seated. We didn't know there was a back entrance for the restaurant side, which was a little quieter. But the food was DELICIOUS!! We both had steak, which was cooked to perfection. My husband and I loved this restaurant. We weren't close to home and searched Yelp and Google for hours for a restaurant with a decent steak prices. Finally, landed at Stubrik's. We arrived right before the dinner rush and it was self seating, not many other people in the restaurant. It was quiet and you can have a decent conversation with someone across a table. Nick was our server and he was very friendly, kind and was very knowledgeable on the specifics of the menu items, like, in more detail than I have ever heard a server offer before. We decided on calamari to start. Had a delicious house salad and house soup. The calamari was not overloaded with breading and was nicely seasoned. Not the most tender I've had, but they were still good. Came with marinara sauce, it wasn't too exciting, so I asked if there was a different type of sauce to go along with the calamari. We decided on the Cajun sauce that is a base for some of their dishes. That didn't hit the spot either, so I used the leftover dressing from my salad. We finished all the calamari. My husband was very impressed with his meal. Ribeye with a side of mushroom and baked potato. We asked for it to be loaded, no problem! I got the Cajun chicken, au gratin potatoes and asparagus. First bite, the Cajun was way too spicy for me. I was expecting it to be more of a creamy white sauce with a Cajun flavor. It was like an entire bottle of Cajun seasoning powder in melted butter. Way too overpowering. I REALLY hate to return a meal, but I had to send it back. I hardly never; ever do that...I normally would have just finished and not ordered it again, but I was really hungry and wanted a satisfying meal. Our server was very sympathetic that I didn't like I'm the chicken and returned it to the kitchen, no problem. The manager did come to the table and asked about my complaint on the Cajun chicken and was also kind about returning the food. *why I hate returning a meal, too much dramatics. I'd rather just eat it than send it back and have to explain and feel guilty about wasting food* The chicken was removed from the bill. I ordered the beef stroganoff and au gratin potatoes instead. It was much better! I was told the beef is trimmings from other cuts of steak they use during other meals. There was a good amount of beef tips, mushrooms, onions, very creamy sauce topped with sour cream with linguine noodles. I'm glad I asked for a replacement meal, it was very good! We had bananas foster and the tiramisu for dessert, both delicious! Our bill was $123 before tip. We didn't buy anything alcoholic. The only disappointing thing was we were charged $3 for the Cajun sauce I asked for for the calamari, it was a small soup bowl full of sauce, wondered why the gave us so much. And the loaded potato topping was an extra $6. No complaint about the charge, just we weren't told it was an extra cost. We may have reconsidered getting some things. By the time we left the restaurant, the lower level of the restaurant was much occupied. We didn't go upstairs but it seems there are billiard tables. We went to celebrate my 6th "re-Birthday" from my bone marrow transplant. I can't believe we haven't been here before!! Love the old school atmosphere, upstairs has a lounge with pool tables. They don't take reservations, but we got there at around 5:30 on a Saturday night, the wait was 20 minutes so we sat at the bar and had a cocktail. Our table was ready right on time. I ordered the filet mignon black and blue-bacon wrapped and covered in the burgundy blue cheese sauce, (omg) my sides were mushrooms and vegetables and the husband ordered the baseball cut top sirloin, his sides were baked potato and rice (loves his carbs!). Every bite was delicious! Steak was cooked to perfection, the sauce was amazing, the vegetables were seasoned deliciously, and still crunchy. We ordered wings and fries to go for our son and the portions were huge and he said they were so good! I came to this steakhouse for my birthday. This place is in Downtown Fullerton and next to the popular place called Slidebar. The parking is free, but it is quit tricky to find it. Come early to find parking if you have reservation. This place gets pack fairly quickly This steak in this place is the bomb and almost change my life. It is worth every penny. I wish the service could match the top notch of their restaurant. My waitress was busy and hardly came by to check in on us. It was disappointing as it was my birthday and we had to track her down often This place is not a fancy steak house, it is more like a cool bar ambiance. It is more lively and less stuffy than more high end steakhouse. Overall, I had a great time and enjoyed their drinks and my outstanding classic steak. We were brought here by friends, this place was packed! There is a nice bar area when you walk in , the bar was full and all the tables were full. We got on the list to wait, the cool thing was that up stairs there were pool tables . We had a cocktail and played pool while we waited. 25 minutes wasn't bad. We sat down and ordered drinks and appetizers, shortly there after our shrimp cocktail and cheesy garlic bread showed up. They were both delicious. We ordered dinner and snacked on appetizers. I've been going to Stubrik's Steakhouse since before Yelp was even a thing. I grew up in Fullerton and for the last 20 years Stubrik's has stood the test of time. I've been going here since they opened in 1999. I got my best friend wasted here in August of 2002, I got charged $8.50 in 2004 for ordering A1 steak sauce to go with my steak, and well, I guess it's time I wrote a Yelp review for the joint. I won't say how old I was in 2004 but let's say I was quite ignorant then and didn't understand the unspoken rules of etiquette in a steakhouse. Unspoken decorum such as NOT ordering a filet mignon "well-done" or asking for steak sauce. While I've never in my life eaten a steak cooked above medium I was young and dumb and asked for steak sauce, just that one time. As I've said, I've been going here for 20 years but my most recent visit was a very special visit. You see, I moved away in 2005 and I've lived in Virginia this whole time. I visit Fullerton, on average, once a year, so I choose where to eat very selectively. Anyway, it was July 2019 and I had just departed the Metrolink from Los Angeles. My wife and I were meeting my parents at the train station. Rather than drive someplace, I said "just meet me at Stubriks!" The reason this dinner was special is because my dear father is in poor health. I won't get into details but every opportunity to share a wonderful night out is precious to me. On this night we both ordered ribeye steaks, beer, cocktails, Margaritas, dessert, pasta; the works. My steak was cooked perfectly, as was his. The drinks were flowing at a lovely pace, the Tiramisu was right on time, and the brownie sundae was very well received by my wife and son. My mother of course couldn't finish her seared scallop pasta (we helped her) and she still managed to bring home leftovers. My Dad was being good and ate pretty much half of everything, well on him for portion control. I devoured my over-peppered cut of steak and left feeling very satisfied. Thank you Stubriks for what hopefully isn't my last fond memory of the old man. It's always nice to come home to Fullerton and see restaurants of my past still in business. I was hoping that this place would be one of our favorite steakhouse places but somehow it didn't shine like the 4 or 5 stars reviews here on Yelp. They don't have reservations so we opted to come early just in case. Street Parking as mentioned by others can be daunting after 6pm here, we got lucky. We were quickly seated, place wasn't packed yet by diners although the bar seating did. Our dinner started with crab cakes (no complimentary bread here in case you want to know). These crab cakes were not a bit special in my opinion. They tasted like crab and came out hot but it didn't taste fresh...the sauce didn't make it good either. The lemon-butter white wine sauce was too thin. Then I had a small bowl of Stubrik's house made soup which was thick, creamy and tasty potato soup Which comes with the 16oz Ribeye I ordered. Hubby had the salad (no thousand island dressing?) with his order of the 24oz Porterhouse. Both steaks to be cooked medium well (yes we just love eating them that way). The ratio of fat and meat with the ribeye was excellent for my taste and was seasoned and cooked as ordered. My sides consisted of mushrooms and seasoned fries which were okay. Hubby's porterhouse though had parts cooked medium rare and it wasn't a good cut of meat (it was tough he said). He loved the baked potato which was done right and the asparagus was fresh. We both didn't finish our steaks and had them to go. The bill was $110 which we think was pricey for the quality of food we had. The best part I would say was the service...ice tea was filled, condiments served quickly, and our server Daph was nice and attentive. Maybe it will be better next time. read more

Pretty solid spot for American food. All the classics and food tasted great! Got the shrimp scampi that comes with a salad and two sides (I got broccoli and rice pilaf) PLENTY OF FOOD and had leftovers for another meal. My friends I came with got the steak, black and blue style, which comes with blue cheese and a gravy style sauce. I tried some and the steak had a nice crust on it. We also ordered the Brussels which were not sweet, which I appreciated and the stuffed mushrooms with crab were delicious! Overall food was solid. The menu isn't too creative but if you're looking for solid pastas, salads, seafood, and meat they got you covered. Came on a Saturday for my dad's 65th birthday. We had a group of 7 so the hour wait that was quoted wasn't surprising. Fortunately it ended up only being 40 minutes so that was fantastic. We were seated at 615 and didn't leave until 815...which would have been fine if we were a bunch of yappers but unfortunately 85% of that time was sitting around and waiting. They only had one waitress taking care of the front inside tables and it was obvious that she was slammed and overwhelmed. She did try though. The food was bomb and well cooked so zero complaints there. It just took my entire life to come out so I'm guessing the kitchen was also overwhelmed. Knocking another star off for a big COVID fail. While they had the tables separated appropriately, there was a group of 6 allowed to stand maskless and drink in a circle near the bar while they waited for a table? Not sure why they were there but all that healthy space was gone. They must have been standing there for at least 30+ minutes because they were there for a large portion of the time we were and I spent a big chunk of the time being irritated that no one was doing anything about it.
