Tina always does my nails. She can always work around my schedule to make time for me which is much appreciated. My nails are pretty short and I just wear them natural. I get gel polish for both my manicure and pedicure. I usually stick with black or dark gray colors - even though the salon offers probably over 100 different colors to Choose from!! Tina always teases me about choosing black in the summertime! She does a good job of cutting my cuticles down and she always chooses the best shape for my nails. Sometimes I ask her to put a flower Design on my toes for an extra $5. The salon itself is simple but nice. They do hair in the front and nails in the back. If I could I would give 0 . It was TERRIBLE experience, Her name was NICOLE. I came to the salon at the appointed time. There were two more clients in front of me. I'm waiting for a long time, I showed a photo of the hair I wanted, it was similar to the one I came with. She said ok. However, the final result was completely different. I asked for a blonde, but the color turned out gray/blue and still my color too, During the service, everything felt very rushed. My hair was pulled harshly while washing, brushed aggressively while wet, and I noticed a large amount of dark hair in the brush,(not my hair) everywhere and everything was very dirty. It was my first experience getting my hair colored at a salon. I probably went on a slower day but there was no wait time for me; I was seated the moment I got there. The technician double dipped the wax during a Brazilian. Putting the stick directly on my hair and skin and then back in the communal pot and then back on my skin numerous times. When I pointed it out to her, she said oh I forgot and grabbed a handful of more sticks like she was gonna continue the service. When I said, I wasn't continuing and wasn't gonna pay because that was a health violation and gross negligence to try to gaslight me and tell me that it was a new pot of wax, knowing damn well that that's not how it works. read more

A friend of mine had her lashes done here and I loved them! So, when I was visiting her in the Sacramento area, I had her make an appointment for me. Right before we got there I mentioned to my friend that I really needed to get my eyebrows touched up Because I didn't like the color or shape any longer. When we got there, Susan started doing my eyelashes and immediately said she could fix my eyebrows without me even saying anything about it. She said I can correct the color and shape today if you want me to. I put my complete trust in her and I do not regret it! I would highly recommend the lashes, and eyebrow services. So idk what's with all the neg reviews. I have been coming to Nicole for the past year or so for Brazilian waxes and she is thorough, amazing and affordable. Also get my son a haircut and Nicole did an amazing job. Appointments after 5pm are hard to find sometimes and they are very flexible and never overly busy or rushing. If you bought a cheap eyelash set off Groupon, you get what you pay for. The Groupon is cheap, eyelashes fall off quicker when they're synthetic. Don't expect $150 eye lashes for $50-60. This took place at Studio 8 Salon on Elk Grove Florin today and I'm in the process of seeking legal help. I went to your shop to have individual eyelash extensions done and now I am suffering from a cornea abrasion due to glue being dropped into my eye by your employee there, named Susan. She is the manager there and she treated me with such disrespect, that I was crying on my way out of the shop. She showed no remorse and didn't apologize. She basically told me I wasted her time and that I should be glad she didn't charge me and even tried to force me to sign a consent form after she injured my eye. I went to the ER immediately afterwards and was told that there isn't scratches but a splash present on my cornea and that I have an abrasion. I am a full time nursing student and I work weekends. Due to this incident I now have to take off from clinicals, miss study hours for school and may have to miss work. *Warning* Whoever is reading this, don't go to studio8salon to get your eye lashes done by Susan or you may end up like me or even worse. read more

This experience was taken July 15 in the afternoon ‼Do not get pedicures done ‼ Yesterday I had came into studio 8 salon for a pedicure, what can go wrong?. As I was on my way to the back she has told me to sit in a sit in a seat where the bath already had water in it reaching half way and filled it with warm water to the top. I should have taken that as a red flag already. She had asked me if I wanted to cut my nails and I said yes but when it came to the big toes she had started to cut deep into my nail and removed my ingrown nail, I was in pain! She did NOT ask for my consent on this procedure nail salons are not equipped to treat medical problems like an ingrown toenail. She also didn't do some service as presented in the package such as the hot towels, afterwards she polished my nails and immediately started to put on my sandals and I asked if I can wait and said no and walked off to the front to charge me. Once she said my total of $25 she made me feel pressured to tip since she told me tip? Tip? And showed me the percentage they have and pressed custom and handed it to me. I regret tipping since it was a horrible service. At night my toes felt tingling and had sharp pain in certain movements and as I take a look both toes are swollen red and you can see liquid, blood and some pus. I do not recommend this place. I recently got my lashes done with a friend here. After telling them that it would be 2 of us, they didn't write it down and they were surprised that we both came to the appointment. We had to wait 20 minutes to get taken back. The lady who did our lashes constantly yelled at me and was pushing me to get my nails done even though I declined twice. She put the under eye strip too close to my eye and my eyes started watering. She got frustrated with me and told me to stop. When I was done, the glue got in my eyes. My eyes started burning. She yelled that I needed to keep my eyes open as my lashes dried. The glue she used was very potent and gave me a migraine. I don't think she sanitized any of the tools or her hands in between touching things or going onto my friend's lashes. ~Update (1 day later)~ The glue stuck the corner of my eye together and I slept so uncomfortably. My eye lid is so itchy because the glue feels so hard and is irritating my skin. I went to lightly scratch my eye lid and my eyes instantly started burning. Horrible my son got a perm and then even do all right. He asked for loose perm and end up coming in tight and plus my wife did eyebrows and it wasn't even good. It wasn't even lined up and I asked for a low tea. They absolutely made me balled in the back and they made my son mad because they didn't do his haircut right in the messed them up so bad that I don't even know. I had eyelash extensions done there. It was a miserable experience, getting hurt twice. The lady was talking nonstop to a fellow employee. I felt like she wasn't paying attention to me. I felt scratchy and in pain after I opened my eyes. They looked for areas that were affecting me and only found one. I have been in pain ever since. It actually scratches my eye and my eyes are pure red from the irritation. I'm not sure if it is the poor quality of the lashes, the adhesive or the inattention to detail but I'm miserable. I came here praying for a miracle because I had gotten my hair professionally done 3 weeks ago but the color started to fade. What I wanted was an ombré ash blonde but what I got from another salon was an all over messy sloppy job of what was so called blonde all over. My hair was screaming to be fixed. I called Studio 8 today this morning and they were able to get me in after work by 2:30pm. I had asked for Susan (the owner) to do my hair and she was more than happy to do her best to fix my hair. Susan is very professional, super sweet and friendly. She took her time to explain what went wrong with my hair, what she was going to do to help fix my hair, asked what I wanted my hair to look like and explained how to take care of my hair. In the end she pretty much saved my hair! She basically started over. She darken the roots to make it look more natural, she toned my ugly orange hair for a more ash blonde look and I got a hair cut with style at the end. She knows what she is doing. Thank you Susan! I would like to shout out Susan, owner of Studio 8 Salon for her amazzzzzing talent & professionalism. She is truly an angel, so so talented!!! I've always dreamed of having the ashy tone grey hair that has become so popular within the past few years but started to come to terms with the fact that my hair would never get there. I had never dyed my hair before, my virgin hair is jet black and after my 3rd baby I just wanted a much needed change. So, I was recommended to a stylist on Fair Oaks/Watt and after 3 $220 sessions & countless hours my hair just had orange strands. Not even a hint of blonde. So disappointing and expensive, I just decided to give up. Its been about a year since my last "balayage" session and my hair was so brittle and dead. Studio 8 is really close by so I came to Susan for a haircut to get all the orange out. She was extremely nice and friendly right from the start! She asked if I wanted to do some color to my hair. If I could give 0 stars I would. My first time getting eyelash extensions and it was bad. When the tech finished applying the lashes my eyes burned and the left eye was red, burning and itched. She took a picture and acted like it was normal. She said it would be better the next day. The redness cleared after 4 days but the burning/itching never did. I was told if it's not clearing up with good lash care, then the lashes or cheap adhesive are the cause. read more

My first review of Studio 8 Salon was when the place first opened, but I still come to see Vickey for my regular haircuts, easy to shoot her a text directly to setup an appointment. Whether that is a short modified A-line, or long layers and textured China bangs, she always does a great job. When I strayed and got a bad haircut closer to home in Natomas, Vickey fixed it. Not everybody knows how to cut/work with Asian hair. Mine is long, thick, stubborn straight (bobby pins to updo, curls only when down), have a cowlick and a few greys. I do usually color my hair reddish brown (natural color is black), allover but not too light, but recently took the plunge and brought back peekaboo highlights (blonde/caramel) rather than balayage or ombre. When it gets busy, I have had other staff (Bridget) help Vickey out with mixing hair dye, etc. with zero issues. Longtime customer from her previous 3 salon chairs. Bangs trims are free. A few times I also have had hair styled for holiday photo sessions or dinner parties. I've also gotten eyebrow waxes, and facials here. Manicure once, but for nails I suggest X-nails further down Elk Grove-Florin (Calvine). I fully recommend Vickey for hair services. The haircolors last, styling products aren't overly pushed, straightening/curling to style the finished cut finishes the look. Let's be real though, stylists can't make you look 100% like the photoshopped model/celebrity photo that you might bring in for reference. Consider it inspiration but remember your actual face shape, hair color and texture, etc. may not be suitable for every look. One girl came in wanting a prom updo based on a photo which was really complicated, but was able to compromise and still use elements of it (braided bun, for example) that turned out really pretty. I trust Vickey when I'm not sure if I want to stick with the same or try something new, and we go through options. She always makes sure I leave happy with the end result. read more

Came here a few times haircuts were okay for the price and service was generally good. However I just came in recently with an appointment with the owner Susan and probably will not be coming back. I have never felt the need to leave a review before but her customer service was almost nonexistent and her haircut was terrible in terms of matching what I asked her to do. I've never not tipped my hairstylist before but I felt no inclination to tip today as she was 10-15 minutes late to our appointment, continuously talked to other workers and customers during my haircut, rushed my haircut because she was adding more people to her list even though I had an appointment, and did not come close to matching any expectation I had for my haircut. read more

Waste of $120, didn't even last as stated Brazilian blowout: not recommended I did a walk in service. I came here for a hair dye and hair conditioned, but got hustle to do a Brazilian blowout instead of conditioning. Very huge price difference too between those two. $35 compared to $120. I waited for a week to see if the Brazilian blowout results still hold to what it's guaranteed. The "silky" smooth/healthy look on your hair typically lasts for 4-8 months. Really depends on how you take care of it, product wise. In less than a week, the texture of my hair started to bounce back to what it was before. Damaged. I followed their instructions on using "sulfate free" products and not wash it for 24 hours. For $120, it's pretty hefty of a price for this because my hair is extremely short and I honestly do not think it's worth it. It's been less than two weeks now and it looks like I never had this treatment done before. read more

I wanted a specific style-showed photos, she said what I want wasn't good, she said let's straighten the hair instead, because it suits my hair more. I can straighten my own hair at home, I came in to style a specific way because I can't achieve it on my own. So we did a basic curl, but her curls weren't even nor nice or the same curls, it's all over the place. The back of my hair weren't fully curled either.
