Studio A ran a braid bar at a party that we attended. What's a braid bar you ask? It's a little bar where they do fancy braids! You sit back, relax and they transform you into a braided beauty! Amy Batlowski did my hair and it looked awesome. She did it half - up in two French braids that ended up twisting into this pretty bun. She used a ton of product so it stayed all night and she did it quickly/expertly. She was really nice and we chatted away while my hair was being done. I was happy about it and tried to sleep in it so I could wear the style again the next day, but alas, my pillow got the best of it :( I will likely be checking out their salon in Newport Beach. read more

Super late post, but I wanted to make sure I had photos before writing my review. I came here through Electra Cruises.. Salon A partners with their clients (like myself) who are getting married. I thought I was going to get away with getting my makeup done by a friend.. like most hopeful brides; but after doing a trial with Kristy, I knew there was no going back. I was going for a more natural glowy look cause I usually don't wear makeup, and she was on point with everything I asked for! I also got my hair done by Audrey, who did an amazing job. I had my hair done around 11AM and it remained flawless until I was ready to go to sleep (or not sleep ). My mom and a few of my bridesmaids had their hair and/or makeup done by these two and we were out of there pretty fast.. maybe 2-2 1/2 hours? They were great and worked through my coughing episodes (I was under the weather that morning), not complaining about having to re-do anything haha. All in all, they were amazing! If you're reading this review because of Electra Cruises, I highly recommend you just go with Studio A.. and book early! read more

Out of town from San Diego I searched for something better than the entry level, here today, gone tomorrow rookie stylist. I found her at Studio A. Debi Bartel is an angel. She did an incredible job making this old guy look and feel better. When she begins with, "Would you mind if I started with a scalp massage, and here are your choices of fragrant oils?" I was a dead duck. She's so sweet, newly married, full of joy and life, and a total pro. Do you know how nice it is to not be rushed and pampered. The only criticism is of myself, I live in the wrong city. If I lived with 30 minutes of Debi I would be a customer for life. She's excellent at her craft and an even better person. Amy is absolutely incredible!!!!!!!!!!! I was so incredibly fortunate to be able to book her for my wedding. Since it was so last minute I was not able to get a trial in, but I was so not worried judging from the pictures and the reviews of her handiwork.
