My wonderful wife and I visited Studio Anew for the first time a few weeks ago, as the floating sessions are highly recommended... and we agree !! ... we highly recommend the floating sessions, too!! You feel like you are floating so peacefully... The purpose is to relax, and we relaxed. - - - The Room - - - extended height ceiling... inside is a bench for changing clothes, and a shower... in front of you a wall with a door that looks like a sauna or something similar... - - - The floating "chamber" - - - Inside that door is the floating pool... it's enclosed... 8 feet tall and 10x10 or 12x12 feet or so... a the water is about a foot deep, just over your ankles... You'll notice a couple round, thin, foam pillows.. they are to support the back of your head, because it is the one body part that is too dense to float on its own. - - - The experience - - - You sit down in the water then lay back, relax your head on the foam pillow, and start to relax. Press the button for the relaxing music.... When you are ready, press the other button and turn the lights off... then you'll be in darkness, with pleasant music... and you'll feel peaceful and calm... - - - How you float - - - Then you realize... in a normal pool your legs sink a bit... not here, not at Anew Salon and Floating... your toes are out of the water on their own... I asked and confirmed that they add a lot of salt... "denser the Dead Sea," apparently... The world's oceans have a salinity around 3%. The Dead Sea has a salinity around 34%. Studio Anew has a salinity higher than that and is nice and close and indoors and is a great place to visit and to relax!! - - - Going back! - - - Our session was 45 minutes or so. We will go back! I came to Anew the other day for my first ever float session and I loved it! The float rooms are in the back of the salon in a private area. You have a private changing area with a shower and towels outside of your private floatation tank. The experience is very soothing and relaxing. You can have music or no music, light or no light. Whatever "floats" your boat. See what I did there. There's another recovery room that you go to afterward with water and tea, sinks, and hair dryers. The idea of having floating at a hair salon is genius, so people can get their hair done right after their float session if they'd like. You could have a whole spa experience with the float, hair blowout, and a mani/pedi all in one spot! I don't know if they do nails here, but if not, they should. They have float packages which are really good and I'm sure they're totally worth it. I highly recommend the float experiences at Anew! When back in town, I'd return to do it again! read more

My fiancé surprised me with a float, manicure, and pedicure at Studio Anew. I was offered the larger float pod that looked as if it was intended to fit 2 people. The float was nice, however it was too warm for me and I was sweating. I cracked the door open and noticed mold on the bottom of the door. There were also rust stains in the pod. Aside from that, the float was very relaxing. Eva did my manicure and pedicure. She was very personable and nice but she did not do a good job. The second and third coat did not cover my entire nail, or the entire first coat. Essentially my nails just look a complete mess!The picture was taken the day after I got my nails done. I've gotten plenty of professional manicures before and I have never had such terrible results. read more

I started looking around for a new salon to go to after moving to this area and found a coupon page in one of the weekly ads. I decided to give them a call and make an appointment. There wasn't too many reviews during my first visit with specifics about hair so I took a chance. I met Mandie during my first visit and I wanted to go a little crazy and get a more vibrant red than what I've had done in other salons. She went along with it without much of a warning speech and I ended up loving the vibrancy of the color she mixed up for me. She also did some trimming and gave me some side fringe per my request which was a little thicker and longer than usual because I hate when they're thin and stick to my forehead (oily skin issues and when I sweat). During my most recent visit, I had her turn my hair back to my normal color and cut it shorter for the fast-approaching summer. I asked her for suggestions regarding my frizzy hair for when it gets really humid and she was happy to help. She even told me she'll inquire about a process I was thinking about doing but wasn't sure how it would go (larger, looser perm for volume). She's never been pushy with her services and is always pleasant the couple of times I've seen her. Mandie is wonderful. She kind of just lets me guide her to what I want and then she does it. I've also asked her for some suggestions regarding products for my hair and she's given me her opinion but wasn't pushy to purchase the products they sell at the salon. I've only asked her to help me pick them out there because I did not feel like stopping by anywhere else or driving to Brentwood to go to Beauty Brands for the hair products. I've used most of the product they carry at the salon so I was okay paying the prices as I know I wouldn't get them for cheaper in other places anyway. The salon itself is clean, new, nicely decorated, and well-kept. They had classes during my last visit. I would like to try to float here one day and get the other services done such as a facial and perhaps a massage. As I already have a nail salon I frequent, I probably won't get that service here but this salon is pretty awesome to offer such a wide array of services all in one place! read more

My most recent update.....I went to Dominic Michaels 2 days after the "hair debacle" at Studio Anew. The wonderful stylist there Jeena Klump was my hair 911 gal. She was truly shocked at what they had did to my hair...not just the color but the cut whack job that she did. The studio anew stylist told me after she left me for an "unspecified length of time" under the heat lamps...that it did not matter that the bleach would stop working after 15 minutes. I have checked with 3 other salons...they agree that color will stop activating under heat but bleach will not. (I would assume that this conversation could be verified by the extensive video surveillance they have at the salon as noted by the owner) Jeena and Dominic Michaels did a wonderful job of correcting this nightmare...but the nightmare will continue. I will have to go back every 2-3 weeks to have "color put back in my hair" at about 100 per appt....but its worth it b/c Jeena is awesome. The best part of this was the owner threatened to sue me for defamation b/c of my comments...Noted that she had "security" video of me and would use it. She has since deleted her comments from the yelp message board...but I did screen shot and save all of the messages. I never received a dime back from this place and If I can prevent someone from a nightmare experience like this...my comments have been worth the time! read more

Pros: people were very nice and helpful, the float was glorious, nice spacious float room, a nice shower, and a really nice little post-float room with coffee, hot chocolate and tea that was a nice touch. Adjustable lights and music volume. Cons: you were not able to prop the door open for a little bit of air flow or temperature control because it would swing wide open. The tank itself did not feel very clean as there was quite a bit of salt residue caked on one side of the tank but not the other sides- so it didn't seem to be from my float, and made it seem liked some sides got cleaned but one side didn't? Not sure. I would come back though. read more

I had never been to a spa before so I was not really sure what to expect. I have chronic pain and fatigue conditions (yay Fibro!) so I never really thought it would do much for me. That being said, I decided to give it a shot anyways. The studio itself is not in a prime location but it is easy enough to find. It kind of reminds me of a hair salon when you first walk in. The lighting is very warm, there are magazines everywhere, and there is a big welcoming sofa to wait on. The staff was all smiles even though they seemed to be hustling and bustling. The smell of the salon was very strong and it made my head hurt a bit. My masseuse was very kind, understanding, and patient of my special needs. She understood my medical conditions and how to work around them. She even used coconut oil due to my sensitive skin! The massage table had a warming function which was quite honestly my favorite part of the entire experience. I wanted to just keep laying on that damn table for all of eternity. There were also some soothing salt lamps in use during my massage. I appreciated the dim lighting and the warmth of the table. It lulled me into a sense of tranquility surprisingly fast. The massage lasted about an hour and while it felt nice during it really did not do much for me afterwards. That is likely more to do with my conditions than anything to do with the masseuse though. I did not have high expectations entering into this in the first place. I knew that it was not going to be the solution to my problems. That being said, I really enjoyed my visit to the salon and will certainly be giving massages another chance later on in life. I had a hair appointment today with Nathan and he listened to what I was looking for an I walked out with a gorgeous cut and style to finish my busy day. The salon was busy, but I was greeted quickly at the front reception area before being shown the my chair. They were busy for a Wednesday afternoon, with a lot of people getting trims, color services, as well as their nails done. The salon is really beautiful and feels like a high end spa experience. Went on my first float today at my first time at this business. The business itself was easy to find / get to. We were immediately, warmly greeted. After filling out a small form, we were shown to the floats. The process and the equipment was thoroughly explained as well as best practices (like hang your wash cloth on the inside handle of the pod so you can wipe your eyes if needed so you're not trying to do it with salty fingers!). You get about 6 minutes to undress and shower before the float time starts. The lid doesn't shut tightly so remember to shut off the overhead light if you want it to be darker. I read online that it can take the first 20 minutes to relax. There's no clock so not sure if that's accurate but being the first time, it did take a bit. The only negative I would say is it's hard to hear the automated message telling you time is up. I think I fell asleep (it's THAT relaxing) so it was more of an abrupt ending when the filter jets started since I slept through the 2 minutes given after the automated message. I will definitely go again! read more

I treated myself and my son's fiance to a spa day. Floats and massages. Pods broken down, dirty hair brushes and combs in the waiting area between services. Massages were below average for us both. Contacted owner 3x before getting response. She agreed to a redo. My sons fiance had an emergency arise so i brought my husband. They waited until i went into the float to tell him he gets no massage he is not her. Then my massage therapist was giving me a 10 minute selling of their products before i even go on the table. The music in the massage was a playlist on her phone! The first massage was a 10 dollar sound machine playing a thunderstorm! There will be no 3rd chance. This place is incredible! I was so excited to try out this new place. They had a special running when I went in so I got an hour float and an hour massage for $100. It was a steal in my opinion! They float and massage were equally relaxing. I did the float first, which I admit I was kind of skeptical about, but with in fifteen minutes of floating, all of your senses go and it is like you are floating in mid air. After, the float and massage, I got my hair cut and colored with Janet N. I loved it! I have not put bleach in my hair for awhile because I was worried about my hair getting dried out, but I ended up getting some highlights put in and my hair is still as soft and healthy as ever! I went to Studio Anew a few weeks ago with a very specific hair request. I wanted silver hair ombréd into purple at the bottom. Laurie was able to get it exactly how I wanted it. She did an amazing job! I normally wear my hair very bright blonde. I naturally have darker hair, but she always did an outstanding job making me blonde while also keeping my hair healthy. Laurie is also extremely personable and fun to talk to so she always makes time fly by when my hair is processing. Besides just the great service, it is a beautiful salon. Decided to try Studio Anew out and I'm so glad I did. I was so tired of my "yellow" colored blonde hair and requested a platinum/silver blonde. It came out perfect!!! I booked an appointment today for a cut and touchup at 2:15 PM. I arrived around 2:07 and checked in. The girl at the desk let the stylist (Ellie) know I was there. At 2:30 PM I still had not been called in, and I went back up to the desk and asked how much longer it would be. They went to Ellie, who was right behind the wall, and she came out and said it would be about 10 minutes. At 2:40 I looked and Ellie was just starting with the flat/curling iron on the customer who had very long hair. I knew I would be lucky to be called in by 3:00pm because she would still have to sweep up and Covid clean, which takes more time. What really bothered me was that Ellie knew when I checked in that she was going to miss my 2:15p time by A LOT and didn't bother to let me know. In addition, the ladies at the front desk knew I had been waiting for some time and yet I still had to go to them and ask how much longer it would be. At 2:45 I told them I had to be home by 4:15 and it wasn't go to work out and I left. I did get a call from the salon manager saying they would get me another time with Ellie and discount, but when you're looking for a new salon (my old one closed) and this is your first experience, why waste your time? When you are right in front of them and they don't even bother to tell you they are running significantly late, it just screams poor customer service and lack of caring about the customer. I appreciate the manager calling me, and she was very nice, which is why I gave them 2 stars instead of 1 star. The search continues. read more

I was given a ONE hour float for a birthday gift the staff at the front when we arrived were all chit chatty and it WASN"T about business or customer service. But after being checked in my float was cut short. I would say by at least 15 to 20 mins. The music turned off before the hour time limit and I was out and showered and waiting on a friend to finish hers. The shower head seem to be caked with calcification and didn't work properly either. They really need to put down more mats on the tile floor to help with slippery floors when you get out of the tub. This was noticed by the staff that I got out early and then I mentioned it to the lady up front about all the issues and while she apologized for the issue she still charged us for the full hour. And just said OH I GUESS WE NEED TO REBOOT THE SYSTEM This is the 2nd time I have had issues with a float. Last time the storage room is right next to room #1 and the staff were coming and going all through my float time. Made it very difficult to relax and enjoy the time paid for. This is not a cheap thing to do and when it is given for a gift it really leaves you wanting to NOT return. I gave it another chance after my first time of problems but I won't be returning after this last time. read more

My daughter got her makeup done by Ellie for her senior prom & not only did insult her eyebrows telling her they missed a spot whoever did them last, making an 18 year old worried about her appearance on her big day but her makeup did not even match her skin tone. My friend and I went to Studio Anew today. We had a 10:30 appointment. The first thing I said to the ladies at the desk (after confirming our appointment time) is that we're both here for the new client special. After filling out the new client form the lady showed us to our rooms. Honestly I felt relaxed for a portion of the time but would rather have had a message. After showering and getting dressed we walked up to the counter to pay for our floats. After letting her know my friend and I were paying separately, the girl at the front desk said "it"ll be $50 dollars today!"....I reminded her that the new client special is only $39. In a sarcastic tone she replied, "well you have to mention it!" So I reminded her that I did when I first walked in. She just rolled her eyes and said ok. She ran my debit card and told me it declined so I wound up writing a check. Honestly I think she was just saying that because she was pissed that I called her out on mentioning the special when I had first arrived. I went to lunch and paid with the same debit card and had no issues with it declining. This is not how you make customers feel welcome! Based upon my first experience I won't be back and I won't be recommending Studio Anew to anyone either! read more

I went to get my hair colored, cut, eyebrows and chin waxed, and a mani and pedi. when it was being done I was excited and thought I found my new salon because they have everything in one stop. I will not be returning at all. I set an appointment to get my roots bleached and everything. I was charged extra for toner which I think should be included when a bleaching is being done. Then the lady tells me she can't to a hair cut but will trim it up and I was charged for a full cut. I showed what I got done by my normal stylist in Illinois and she told me I didn't have a full bleach but I had highlights which isn't true. My hair looks worst now than before. If I could show a picture on here I would. It doesnt look like anything was done. I have a scar under both eyebrows from where she messed up on them and my nails are chipping off after a day and a half. I spent $400 and have nothing to show for it. I could've done better myself at home on everything. I'm livid. read more
