When researching for someone to install hair extensions in my fine hair, I asked a lot of people and read many reviews on various sites. I decided on Lori Veltri at Studio LV because of all the positive things heard and listed. I am also familiar with Platino Salon and Suites salon and knew this would be the hairstylist for me. I met Lori at her private Studio inside Platino Salon and she made me feel comfortable right away. She spent a fair amount of time with me consulting on the different kind of extensions she installs. Lori is certified in Great Lengths and Hairdreams extensions, the top brands with the highest quality hair. I learned that she is the first and only certified hairstylist in the United States for Hairdreams Laserbeamer Nano, which impressed me. She seemed to know what she was talking about regarding making the decision which method should be used on my hair. The Hairdreams Laserbeamer Nano system allowed her to attach 5 pieces of hair "locks" in 30 minutes, which was the technique used in the back of my hair. Hairdreams individual pieces were used in the front of my hair and took approximately another 30 minutes. I can't believe I had beautiful, long and thick hair in one hour! She cut the extensions into a style after the installation and it looks absolutely amazing! The hair is silky and luxurious and the best part is I can actually run my fingers through my hair! Lori is the first and only certified person in the United States doing this type of extensions. I got a full and long head of hair in 1 1/2 hours from beginning to end of appointment. That's crazy! I finally getting around to making this review after several years of sitting this artist's chair. When I met Lori, I had very damaged hair from over lapping of bleach and great lengths extensions put in so poorly and with a horrible cut. She was so kind and so understanding to my terrible position. People have such an emotional attachment to their hair, and especially when you have damaged hair; it makes you feel horribly unattractive. I know I did. When I first met her, she sat me in her chair and got out her scissors and fixed my horrible hanging straight uneven hair with a proper cut before we even discussed how to go about fixing my hair. We did end up taking out my great lengths and putting in the hair dreams. Best decision I have ever made. The hair dreams are insanely flat and comfortable to wear and no one would ever know you have extensions. Half of this is Lori's ability to cut extensions. That's huge and half the solution. We also discussed my awful bleached hair. I am a natural redhead and hated how my hair looked the minute my color would show. She changed my base ( no one had done this in my life), added dimension, also, something that's never happened, and healed my broken fried hair. Like one of the other reviews on here started, Lori is amazing! She is such an artist at what she does. I was referred to her when I was interested in getting extensions due to a very unfortunate phase that my hair went through. Over the period of about 4 months I lost 5 inches of hair & with that, I lost the thickness too. As you can imagine, I was pretty devastated after spending 5 years of growing it out after this "phase" had happened once before. I never looked forward to doing my hair. 6 days out of the week I had it up in a bun & left one day to fully style it, which still never made me feel as pretty as I once did with my long, lush hair. As silly as it sounds, hair has a pretty big effect on how women see themselves. After being pretty against extensions because of all the horror stories I had heard, I finally gave in when I heard about Lori & her expertise. I went in for a consultation & she was beyond detailed in explaining the whole process & everything else that getting & having extensions entails. She was so patient & thorough when it came to answering all my questions I had since I went in there knowing very little about the process & different types. I walked away from the consultation completely sold for quite a few reasons. The knowledge she has is vast. It goes beyond her years & years of experience. Her professionalism & honesty about what she can do & what the best method is for what you want to achieve, goes unmatched. She wants you to have nothing but the best. With that, I scheduled my appt. & was in there 2.5 weeks later to get the hair of my dreams, quite literally. I couldn't believe how quick it was. After a thorough consultation and a promise that Great Lengths extensions would not damage my hair I scheduled an appointment to go ahead with this. Two weeks later I returned for my 4 1/2 hour appointment. During that time Lori (with the help of her assistant) artistically placed and bonded my new silky hair extensions and cut it into my dream hairstyle. At last, thick and long beautiful hair with natural highlights and depth. I have been going to Lori since 2006, She has always satisfied my hair needs, whether it be color or cut. When she started doing extensions it was like a prayer had been answered! I had always wanted them but I could never find anybody that I trusted to put them in. Since then I have tried all kinds of extensions; tape, beads, clip in, but in May she put Great Lengths Hair Extensions in for the first time. At first I thought it was a lot money and time to get them, but it was worth every penny and every second to get them put in. I got them for length and also to give my hair more dimension by having 3 different colors. It took a bit of time but, I got a lot of work done and caught up on all my trashy magazines we all love to read while were at the salon. The end result is absolutely amazing!! I couldn't be happier. Normally after getting extensions my head is tender, have a major headache and I cant even think straight. With the Great Lengths It honestly feels like nothing is there. This is my first yelp review, just to emphasize how much I appreciated my visit with Lori. From the moment I walked into Lori's studio, I was greeted with total warmth and a welcoming welcoming vibe. Immediately she greeted me with the friendliness of someone I would have thought I knew for years. A month before I sought Lori out I had my hair cut short due to a previous stylist completely ruining it with a bad ombre, and I was totally devastated! Short hair was fun for a little while but I knew I wanted long locks back and the confidence and glamour they brought with them. I did a ton of research- I mean a TON! I had never gotten extensions before and wasn't sure if the cost and low-quality of average tape ins or braid-in extensions was worth it, nor the damage normal bonds tend to cause. I didn't want to spend a ton of money only to have to get them done again in a month and dish out more cash. Then I stumbled across Lori & the nano hair dreams extensions... Lasting up to 6 months with good care, with minimal damage so long as you take care of your extensions- I honestly couldn't imagine a better deal. My consultation with Lori was awesome. She was HONEST. She gave me all the information I could possibly need about the cost, care, and quality of the extensions themselves, what to expect etc. Not for one moment did I feel like she was trying to sell me anything. In fact, knowing I was a working college student, she was very aware and understanding of my financial situation and not the least bit pressuring. In my opinion, gave me an incredible deal. For what I received here (not to mention the confidence boost), the price was generous & SO worth it. During the process of getting my extensions done, she threw in a free coloring to make sure my hair matched 100% and cut my hair to look good and natural with the extensions. I first heard of Lori from hair dreams, I had been looking for someone to do hair dreams extensions. Professionals who are certified by hair dreams are hard to find and in high demand! I went to the original consult and ordered my extensions that day! I got my hair dreams extensions last year, now 10 months later they still look good and healthy! The only reason I have to get them redone is that my hair has grown so much the bonds are over 4" away from my head and can be seen in some hair styles. I have had other hair extensions, clip in and beaded in, but the hair, even expensive real human hair splits and breaks off in a month or two. The price is a little higher for hair dreams, but the product is far superior! When you replace less expensive hair and have to get it done every other month, it works out to be just as costly. In 2004, I had a terrible haircut where a stylist at another salon took a straight edge razor and cut almost all of my hair off. My hair was so badly cut that it was uneven and I had an almost bald spot on the top of my crown. I decided not to be a guinea pig anymore, so I scouted out hair salons. I went to a ritzy area near the beach and walked in and out of 4-5 salons. I looked at the environment for cleanliness, the clientele, the hair dressers (i.e., are they friendly, professional?), and the styles. I looked at the back of some of the customers hair and noticed some uneven cuts. I also observed customers facial expressions to try determining whether they were promoters, passives, or detractors. I was about to give up until I saw Salon Belcourt. I walked in, and asked the desk personnel to speak to their very best men's hair styllist. I was introduced to Lori. Lori reshaped my hair and turned a mess into a nice haircut. Every haircut has been perfect. The tradition continues at Studio LV.
