Overall, I would recommend this theater but there are some important considerations. This theater offers a full service bar and kitchen. There is a small dining area directly inside of the business, if you'd like to eat before or after your movie. Food and drinks can also be ordered from a push button at your seat, inside of the movie theater, to eat during the movie. Food and drinks can be brought to your seat throughout the movie as much as you like. However, most of the kitchen options were unavailable tonight. I overheard some guests were upset about this. The seats are pretty nice, comfortable leather seats that lean back slightly. The seats are close to the ground though. The leather seats could have been alittle cleaner but I didn't feel that the theater was unclean altogether. There is a small table on a swivel at your seat. We saw Avatar: Fire and Ash. Picture quality and sound was on par with other major movie theaters, but the actual theater was fairly small, about 80 chairs total. The waiters do a good job of being unobtrusive, but you can see them walking around from time to time taking orders and bringing food while the movie is playing. Not a huge deal, but it does take away from the immersive experience slightly. When we received our bill at the end of the movie, I was surprised to see an "18% Service Charge" already applied as a tip for the waiter. There was also a spot for "additional tip", if you'd like to leave one. In our case, we ordered two drinks and a small popcorn, so it felt alittle absurd for gratuity to be automatically applied. I would return to this theater again to see another movie but AMC is still my #1 choice. read more

We had read some bad reviews so we're expecting it to smell bad but it didn't. James our server was very nice and our popcorn and drink arrived shortly after the movie began. Cleanliness was a concern. My friends brought disinfectant wipes so we wiped all down we could. Leather armrests were very ragged and worn. Most disgusting part was cup holders in the arm rests. Need a definite deep cleaning. We tried to wipe them out but they were way too grimy to help any. Just opted to put our drink on the tray we'd already cleaned. Movie quality was good. I paid online for my tickets using my Apple Pay, when I arrived they told me I had to have my card with me which I didn't and refused to look up my paid seats. We had to pay again to enter the movie theater. The seats did not recline and were very teared up. The whole movie theater was disgusting. Most nastiest place I've been too. Love Love Love this Studio Movie Grill!! I mean, a huge plus is that it's located close to home and in one of my favorite shopping areas (The Villages). I even put on my new pair of boots for the occasion!! The Lady of my Manor and I were able to break away from the business of life and sneak in a movie. Love that we can also have some drinks and dinner all in one! The place is immaculately clean. The staff all the way from purchasing the movie tickets, to the bar, to our server inside the theater... were all top notch and very professional! Totally made my first experience here enjoyable and fun! All my faves in one setting. My wife, movies, food and drinks, Tom Brady, Football, comedy... c'mon! What's not to like? When this business first came to Tyler about 10 years or so ago everyone was thrilled because it was the first theater of its kind to be in Tyler. I honestly use to enjoy coming but that sentiment has sadly changed. Over the last 2 years the theater has slowly been going downhill! With the slow wait times for the food, to the uncleanliness of the facilities, this location is subpar at best! The alcoholic beverages are watered down and the staff is less than professional. There needs to be a complete makeover from the management down to the food runners/cooks! I won't be returning unless there are some MAJOR improvements!! read more

I will not be returning to this theater. When you walk in, the lobby is nice with a full service bar. Once you enter the theater hall, it smells like vomit. I overlooked that and moved on to the theater. The seats and tables are very worn, dirty, and disgusting. The seats were also not super comfortable, but adequate. We opted to not order any food, although the wait staff seemed very friendly. The sound for the movie was fine. I can honestly say I've had more bad experiences coming to this movie theater than good. Letting management know and letting their customer service know does nothing by the way. The last and final straw was after showing up 10 minutes late to the last showing at 10:50 because, I personally prefer to not sit through 20-30 minutes worth of ads, I want to see the movie. I showed up and the doors were locked after reviewing online and it showed they close the doors 15 minutes after the last showing and I still had 5 minutes before it should have been locked. I let the workers know and the only thing they had to say was for me to refund my tickets online but had no clue on how to let me know how to do the it. They finally let me get to my movie at 11:15 and the movie was barely staring. This movie theater is supposed to be one of the nicest in town yet has the worst service out of all. My wife and I have been coming here since it opened. It was really great but over the last year or two maintenance and cleaning has really taken a back seat. Light panels hanging from the wall, ceiling lights flickering, smells like old feet in the theater, seats and trays are not cleaned well. I'm sure I could go on but cleanliness should matter more than it currently does. We'll come a few times to see if it changes. There are some good things, the seats when they are clean are very comfortable, the bar serves great drinks. The food is a little over priced but since they bring it to you in the theater I think it's worth it. Went to see the movie Twisters today with my son and had a great greet by the young lady selling the tickets, but the manager Rob made a trip while we were paying and made us feel very welcomed. I haven't seen that type of engagement by a manager at a movie place in years. We had a server named Emily I believe that was super nice and did an outstanding job. I give this theater to stars because of the atmosphere. It was very nice comfortable chairs with a nice bar. But it could have been improved with the cleanliness of the bathrooms and the quality of the food amongst other things. The drinks at the bar was really nice and the server was very polite but once we got into the theater, that was another story. My boyfriend and I were there to see a movie we were the only ones seated on the road at the time, and the waiter came to take our order. As the roads begin to fill in other people order, we noticed that they ordered similar to what we did, but received their food first. that was not that big of a deal, but it did raise some concern for me as we were the only people of color in this particular movie. We waited until everybody around us was served and we had to push the call button to get a service attention to ask for the status of our food. When the food was received, the cheese fries were cold, and it looked as if it was sliced cheese and not melted cheese put over our order we expected queso. We suffer through the appetizer of old fries in and sliced cheese with bacon and received our burger. The burger itself was good, but the fries were very old, very hard and not edible. We ate what we did and enjoyed our movie, but then we noticed that everyone's tray has been finished and picked up except for ours. We noticed everyone's tray had been picked up everyone around us. I even did the universal sign for. I am done with my food, but we were the last ones to get the dirty trays from in front of us. It seemed as if we got less service and poor quality food because of the color of our skin, this is why I could not give five stars. The food was not worth it. Went to this theater for this first time last week. Selecting the seats and getting the tickets were super easy on the app. The theater is really nice. Seats were roomy. And the food and drinks were surprisingly good. The mixed drinks were not watered down. The food was tasty. Movie experience was great. Where they lose a star is the ordering of the food. Being our first time we did not know the servers HATE when you order food/drinks from the app. A server came promptly when we sat to ask us if we would like to order and food/drink. However when we explained it was our first time and the app encourages you to buy the tickets and order at the same time and it's suppose to be delivered at your seats when you get there. But the server explained orders done on the app are NOT completed/served until the movie starts. And there was nothing they could do to change that. From that point no server even looked at us. We were there 30 minutes before the movie like the app suggested. So we sat there thirsty and hungry while other parties sat, ordered and got their food and drinks like you would at a normal restaurant. Drinks, then meal, then dessert if ordered. Most of it before the movie started. For us when the movie started we got everything dumped on us at once. The little tables aren't meant to hold everything at once. We were made to feel like this was our fault. I understand the servers are there for tips and when ppl order from the app they don't generally tip. But I did, 15% for no good service We'll probably go again. But next time we will NOT order the food from the mobile app and just wait for the server when sat. I highly suggest you do the same for optimal movie/dining experience. read more

Came here for a nice family day. Ended up leaving extremely disappointed. We walked in and saw a sign that said "we add auto gratuity of 18%" this was the first red flag. Obviously no one gave great service because they automatically get the extra money. It took the servers 30 minutes to get our drinks to us (and forgot one). About 40 minutes into the movie, we got 5/6 plates of food. We asked about the missing food and they stated "it takes longer than the others". After asking for the food a 3rd time, the food came with 20 minutes left in the movie. We spoke to the manager after the movie and received NO help. He told us that the food was not the servers fault and that we were expected to pay the 18%.
