I had waited a few months to let my nails heal from acrylics and decided I wanted to try acrylics again. It started when I asked for French tips with a light lavender tip based on a color I found in the regular nail polish. I said a color close to that, knowing it was not gel. She said that's a regular color, pick from here, and thrust the gel colors toward me so quickly they fell to the floor. One handed, I grabbed them and tried to flip through them because she had already started gluing the tips. She seemed annoyed and kept asking if I wanted white. No. I had to repeat several times. I wanted something a little different today. I wondered if she thought it might not look good and asked her. She said just pick your color. She also said the color I wanted was not light lavender. I asked what she thought it was. She didn't answer. I thought maybe she didn't hear me so I asked again. She ignored me, so I gave up and settled on a different color. It got worse when I asked if she could file my nail bed lightly since it took several months for my nails to heal. She kept repeating that she had to file my nails to put the acrylics on. I told her I realized that I just wanted her to do it lightly because my nails had been so damaged. She was visibly annoyed. She then became even more frustrated when I asked if she could make the nails shorter and more rounded when she asked how the sheep and length was . She repeatedly raised her voice asking "do you want oval then??" over and over when I simply said I just wanted a little rounder and shorter. She said, do you want oval or do you not know what you want? I told her I didn't know what oval was and asked if she had any examples. She said no. I had to Google it myself. Oval wasn't what I really wanted, but since every small request seemed to irritate her, I settled on oval. To make matters worse, my card chip had an issue and my Apple Pay didn't go through. She thrust my phone back at me and slapped down a receipt saying "See? See??" as if my card was declined. I had just used Apple Pay at CVS. I told her I could go get cash, but she wanted me to Zelle her. To make matters even worse, my banking app wouldn't recognize my face (maybe it's I was so frazzled by her behavior?? IDK!) and locked me out after too many failed attempts. I told her I would run straight to my bank. She said accusingly, "Leave your phone" -- as if I would walk out without paying, despite being a customer for over a decade. I raced to the ATM, was still locked out, and had to call my bank. I was in a panic. I finally got through, they unlocked my account, I raced back, and paid in cash. No apology for her rudeness. Anyone deserves basic respect and patience,, but as a long-term customer, I especially deserved some patience and trust when I had some embarrassing technical issues clearly beyond my control. I was shocked, and I will never spend my money here again.

The salon was busy earlier, and the front-desk employee specifically told us to come back at 6 PM. We did exactly that. When we returned, she acted like she had no idea what we were talking about, then said, "I didn't think they would come back." What made it even more frustrating was that someone who walked in right after us was told it would only be a 15-minute wait, despite the salon having the same number of customers as when we first came in earlier that day. So apparently, the 6 PM invitation was meaningless. To top it off, we were repeatedly approached by several people outside asking for money, making the entire experience even more uncomfortable. I've never experienced this level of disrespect here before. Unfortunately, they've lost a returning customer. I won't be back.

Despite that, both technicians attempted to perform gel services without our consent. By the time I realized what my technician was doing, she had already thinned my nails with an e-file to prepare for gel. When I questioned it, she responded with an attitude instead of an apology. The quality of the manicure was unacceptable. She painted regular polish over leftover gel instead of removing it properly. The polish was old and applying thick. I pointed that out and she fixed one nail with an attitude. At that point I just wanted to be done and out of there. Two days later before returning to work I had to remove it myself (couldn't drive two hours back to take care of this in person as Lisa stated that's their rules), I discovered gel had been left on one hand, and my nails were left thin, damaged, and breaking. What upset me even more was that my mother, who has dementia, was also being given a gel pedicure she never requested or could reasonably consent to. I looked over just in time before he tried to put mom's feet into the LED heater when I stopped him stating we never asked for the Gel! Again attitude and language I do not speak. The poor service was only made worse by the complete lack of accountability afterward. I was repeatedly promised callbacks (talked and texted with Lisa, talked to Emily) that never happened, given excuses instead of solutions, and ultimately offered a partial refund while the actual issues were ignored. As a solo esthetician myself, I understand that difficult situations happen, but professionalism, honesty, and taking responsibility should never be optional. This was never about $25. It was about integrity. Trying to upsell services clients never requested, damaging someone's nails, and then refusing to take accountability is unacceptable.

I've been coming to Jackie for about 3 or 4 months and I'm able to go about 3-3.5 weeks in between my fills. Jackie also has given me great advice on how to keep my nails healthy, and I feel that we've built great rapport with how communicative she is with scheduling my nail appointments, her friendly vibe and the chill atmosphere that the other staff gives off in the salon.
