Easy brunch spot by campus - seems like it gets busy especially on game days. We got in line about 15 minutes before it opened and were able to get in with the first wave of customers. They have seating inside and outside (outside is covered). Service was quick and friendly; I got the Chilaquiles Tortillas + sourdough which was filling but nothing special. Good option to be full for a long game day! There is some street parking but I recommend walking/ubering if possible!

Came for brunch after hiking Spencer Butte. Don't let the exterior of this diner from deterring you from eating amazing food. Portion sizes were generous with my breakfast burrito. For desert, we had their famous French toast with three different sauces. Just wow! A meal here can last you the entire day!

Zorra Zorba the Greek was a great healthy scramble. I chose wheat bread and the home fries.

Really attentive staff, I thought they were going to have no seating but there are quite a few spots to sit at when the weather is good. We sat in the covered area with dogs and they brought us a water bowl. Food came out perfect temperature and the mimosas were delicious. Highly recommend!

This place was such a pleasant surprise! Albeit a little pricey, it is certainly worth it (or it was for what I ordered). The coffee is delicious, everyone is friendly, and the food came out pretty quickly. The inside is very nice although we sat outside. The menu is quite long but very versatile and definitely worth coming back for more. The portions are generous and my only gripe with the Chilaquiles is the salsa is a little overpowering and the chicken could have better flavor, but it was delicious nonetheless and the home fries especially were so good. Awesome, cute & charming.

Years ago we really liked this place. I honestly do not remember what I had that I liked here. We showed up on a weekend, expecting the place to be packed. Thankfully we were able to get seated right away, and the service was great. I had a hard time trying to decide on what to order. Lately nothing sounds good to me due to having lingering long haul covid. That has taken away my taste for some of my favorite food such as breakfast items. Bacon, and eggs. I ended up ordering their famous berry French toast, and a side of ham. The ham was like lunch meat, and I was really not that impressed with the berry French toast. I had my guy try it, to see if it was just me, or if it was my crazy off taste at the moment. He usually is not picky. While he said that they tasted fine, he said they were not the best. He said he wouldn't want to come back for them. The one thing I can say was a favorite was the coffee. I didn't order it, but he did. Cafe Mam. Can't say I will be back soon. May try for lunch. But won't be in the near future.

My wife wanted to take our son and daughter-in-law to breakfast while we were visiting. She found Studio One which was very close and convenient to the Airbnb we were staying at and found they serve breakfast all day. Since it was a Saturday morning she called to inquire about the wait time and was told they had a couple of large tables open. We arrived shortly before 10:30am and found street parking just down the block. The cafe is located in the heart of Eugene near the University of Oregon. We walked up and could see immediately they have covered patio seating. We walked to the counter inside and were directed to a larger table on the covered patio. They also have indoor seating as well. We were given menus and our drink orders were taken. As we perused the menu, our drinks arrived and we made our selections. Two of us chose the breakfast burrito. I have been craving a breakfast burrito since I seldom find them on the menu in North Carolina. My wife decided on the People's Choice Omelet and our daughter-in-law ordered the Field of Dreams benedict. She had never tried a benedict before and was anxious to experience it. Our meals arrived very quickly and looked amazing. We each really enjoyed our meals and everything was really tasty! We enjoyed our experience and recommend Studio One to others. As many small businesses in the University area the seating is limited and the wait times may be dramatically different when the University is in session.

I try to hit this place every time I'm in Eugene. They seat you immediately, even if they seem to be too busy, and the food comes out quickly. I love that they have many mimosas to choose from. Another thing I really like about this place is the à la cart menu has quite a few choices for smaller appetites.

Studio One Cafe is perfect when visiting the university of Oregon. The dining area was crowded but we were able to be seated immediately which was nice. So many menu options sounded delicious but I had to try the French toast sandwich. Get this if you love sweet and savory. The eggs and cheese mixed with the sweetness of the French toast and maple syrup were to die for. Also they have a number of loose leaf teas which were delicious! It's so uncommon to find a loose leaf tea, let alone one that is delicious and unique! I look forward to coming back here!

Small, tight spot that provides a bit of indoor and outdoor dining. The service was prompt and courteous, the host was loud and gregarious. We had a few different plates at the table and all were just kinda so-so. I thought an outside the box take on biscuits and gravy was a good call. The Chile verde option on biscuits & gravy fell short on appearance and lack of pork and now I know why the server had never had it before. (Lesson learned, lol). It's wasn't bad, but it's not something I would ever order again. The other typical breakfast plates at our table looked standard and our group agreed everything was just kinda meh-good... and that's ok!

Some of the other reviews were negative on their food...but our food was fantastic. The burgers were moist and not greasy. The waffle cut fries were hot and crispy. The decor is a D&D dive bar scene....so many things to look at as you wait for bingo to start. They just changed the rules and you do have to pay $1.00 per person to play bingo...but where else can you get that type of entertainment for a dollar. We can't wait to return.

At one point, the bartender disappeared for approximately fifteen minutes, leaving several patrons waiting without acknowledgment. When she finally returned, she casually mentioned she had been on a personal phone call. A second woman then stepped behind the bar, immediately clarifying that she was not, in fact, a bartender. When I expressed concern about the extended absence and lack of service--something I would consider standard feedback in any hospitality setting--I was abruptly told I was "speaking badly" about the staff and was asked to leave. This kind of defensiveness and disregard for patrons is deeply unprofessional, especially for an establishment that positions itself within a community where communication, accountability, and mutual respect are paramount. Eugene has a growing nightlife and alternative culture scene, and many people--locals and visitors alike--expect spaces that uphold those values. Based on my experiences, I cannot recommend The Serpent & the Sparrow. There are other venues in town that offer a far more welcoming environment, competent service, and a genuine respect for their patrons.

On our first morning in our new town, we went to The Original Pancake House for breakfast. It was a simple meal, but one we were grateful we could afford. When we asked for the check, our server smiled and told us someone had already paid for it. That small act of kindness made me feel like I truly belonged in our new home. It reminded me that even in an unfamiliar place, there were good people who cared about others. Since that day, every time we visit The Original Pancake House, we make it a point to pay it forward whenever we can. It's our way of honoring the kindness that meant so much to us and has stuck with me. Beyond the beautiful memory, the food is incredible. It's hands down the best breakfast I've ever had. Comfort food that tastes like it's made with love. You must try the Dutch baby! The ladies who work there are always so warm and welcoming, making every visit feel like coming home. The Original Pancake House in Eugene is a charming, family-friendly spot with genuine warmth and stellar coffee. The casual, lively vibe makes it feel like the proper brunch destination you'd hope for from a legendary breakfast joint. We ordered their hero dish--a side of buttermilk pancakes--and the Irish Omelette. The pancakes delivered real flavor: fluffy, tender, with classic buttermilk tang. My only critique? They arrived cool, likely from sitting in the warmth window a bit too long. Off the griddle, these would shine. The Irish Omelette was more disappointing. Designed to be airy and light with corned beef and potatoes inside, ours was overcooked and rubbery--far from the delightful, pillowy texture it should be. For a restaurant with this history, execution should be consistent. The coffee and service were warm and attentive, which goes a long way. 3/5 stars. Worth visiting for atmosphere, especially if your pancakes arrive hot. Try during slower service to avoid the window-sit fate. The Portland location executes at a higher level.
