A great coney island-style restaurant, with fantastic breakfast. The corned beef hash is tasty and the portions are big (but not ridiculous). Fast and friendly (enough) service. Go early on the weekends if you want breakfast. I don't know if there's a shift change later in the morning, but we've always had much higher quality food before 10am. Good food, big portions, low prices Tried out Stuffed Bun for breakfast. I was really hungry, but was informed this place has big portions. The diner has a retro feel, but our waitress was awesome. I went with the breakfast burrito with egg whites and sausage inside. The food came out super fast (I kept thinking how did they cook it that fast). ON the side of my breakfast burrito was home fries. They lacked seasoning, but tasted fine with ketchup. The breakfast burrito was huge and tasted very good. I could barely finish it. The egg whites inside were light and fluffy, the sausage tasty. Everything else inside complimented those ingredients as well. I'm not sure why visitors below think $8 per omelet is an awesomely low price, because it isn't. $4-7 per omelet is a great price, $8-10 per omelet is a high end priced omelet somewhere in downtown Chicago. And for a cash only place, the prices should actually be slightly lower than most other restaurants that do take credit cards. Food was coney island type, I'd go to Leo's to get the same food and pay less. Service was good. read more

My family Haven't eaten at Stuffed Bun but a couple of times since the restaurant changed ownership. It looked like they may have changed ownership again since we were last there. My family and I went to Stuffed Bun on Oct.3 around 9:30 a.m. and it was full but not a full house. Our waitress started off very nice so nice we were considering giving her a 25% tip, then things started going down hill. First problem was that we were a party of four but she only had two straws for our four waters. She didn't go and immediately bring two straws back. Secondly our food took forever to get to us. A couple who came in at the same time my husband did finished their meal before we even got our order. We ordered our meals shortly after they did because we were waiting for my husband to arrive. We shared the same waitress. The only difference was we were a party of four and they were a party of two. Although our meals took forever to arrive we never complained. When we finally got our order my French toast was missing, my eggs were barely warm and the portion appeared to be smaller than what I ordered and the waitress gave us no apology. As I waited for my French toast my eggs became cold. When the waitress brought the French toast I told her my eggs were cold. She impolitely stuck her hand out, I gave her my eggs and she angrily walked away. She brought the eggs back quickly and they were hot and a two egg portion. However I was missing one French toast. My meal came with three slices of bread cut in half. When we brought this to our waitress attention she said it was three Slices of French toast. My son told her it wasn't and asked her why she had such a horrible attitude especially since our order was late, she never apologized but blamed it on the cook, she never brought us back our two straws until she brought the food, and we had to ask her for them she didn't even remember. Plus I was missing a French toast. She wanted to argue by saying she was very busy and so forth. We didn't want to hear her excuses so we told her it was ok and I waved her away but before she left she grabbed our bill and told us that we could talk to her boss. We didn't know what to say. My son was so upset he didn't finish his food. I told my husband that the manager must not be a nice person to have an employee who is so rude. Just I completed my thought the waitress reappeared with our bill and said that her boss took off the one French toast and walked away. I wanted to talk to the manager to tell her or him about their rude employee, then I thought about how hard it is nowadays to hire employees to work so nothing would probably be done anyways. After all of this I did the right thing and left a $5.00 tip, the bill was $40.00. I would have left $2.00 but I didn't have two one dollar bills. I left a very unhappy customer and I will never eat at Stuffed Buns again. read more

This place is exactly what you expect by looking at pictures of the menu. Classic diner. Tables sticky from years of good business (not because they're not clean). Pepsi products. We all enjoyed their food from their limited menu. Service was slow but the waitress was nice. If you're in Pontiac, it's a solid place to go for lunch. read more

I have a new favorite breakfast place now! The service was super quick and the waitresses made sure that your drink was never empty. They also cleared off empty tables faster than I have ever seen a restaurant do. They were also super nice and willing to give you their opinion on what was the best. I got the cinnamon french toast and it was awesome! It was thick cut and perfectly done with a cinnamon-y top. It was fluffy and soft, but not mushy. Some of the best french toast I've had. My mother got the western omelet. She said it was very tasty and that the hashbrowns were nicely done. We will definitely be going back soon. read more

This was my first time coming here even though I've lived in Pontiac my whole life. I was not disappointed at all my chilli cheese fries were smoking when they came to the table they had steam rolling off of them which I was thankful for. Our server was more than nice she put our to go boxes in bags for us and even offered not to warm up our to go order so the bread wouldn't get hard. I didn't get her name but she was overall amazing and I had a great experience here and will definitely come back again. read more

We have been going here for years and not only love the food but adore the staff! Unfortunately they have changed owners and the "feel" nor the food are the same :-( the walls are now bare and the staff isn't their happy, loud, outgoing, smiling happy face selfs anymore. Let me start wiyh this......Huge portions. I wasn't sure what to think about this place. There is always a sign looking for a cook and a waitress out front. What this tells me is there could be an issue with consistency. Nope. There is a small sign to tell you "please wait to be seated". We waited and were approached by a bus boy showing us a freshly cleaned table. Odd but still okay. The waitresses had moments where they were yelling across the small but packed dining room floor. This was almost a deal breaker as I am not one for a loud and boisterous eating enviroment. Having already driven around for 30 min on a late Sunday morning, I chose to overlook this often annoying element. My wife and I sat down and were met with a very pleasent waitress with a very good balance of being helpful without visiting the table too much. My wife ordered coffee with biscuits and gravy. Outstanding. I ordered the Country Omelette with a diet. Good Lord......I couldn't finish the plate which is a rarety. The omelette was huge and stuffed to the rafters with a large side of expertly grilled hash browns. Even when we left the waitress asked if I wanted a refill of my diet to go. Definately recommend this place. With spuratic hours and a limited menu, don't go expecting exotic eats....won't happen. Top grade diner food.....you bet. Normally I love Stuffed Bun and never have anything to complain about...however sitting at the bar for breakfast was a little frustrating. I watched my food sit at the heat lamp for 10 plus minutes. By the time I got it,it was only warm so by the time I finished the meal it was cold. Hashbrowns in the omlet could have been a little more cooked...but other then that temperature was my only complaint...portion size was big..server let me swap my toast for a biscuit. Walked into Stuffed Bun this morning only to be greeted by a sign on the door "No Carry Out". That explains why their phone was busy every time I called. I have NEVER heard of a restaurant posting a sign like there EVER. Don't they know some people eat on the fly and don't have time to dine-in and wait for the food to come to the tables? It turned out to be a positive as I went to another place down the road who gladly had carry-out and the food was fantastic. Looks like the Stuffed Bun lost a frequent customer. Came here all the time as a kid. The food is always awesome, cheap and very well proportions. If I didnt move so fare away I would still be goung here all the time but now I only go when im in the area. Only bad thing is, they are obly open until 2pm. Outstanding breakfast! We are in town for a wedding and looked up this place online, and we are glad we did. We were greeted as soon as we walked in the door and had waters on our table and drink orders taken within moments of sitting down. Our server was very helpful in making selections and recommendations, and she was very attentive. The food was quickly served, perfect to order, and the portions were a great value. This mainly breakfast restaurant is an odd duck and gives off a weird vibe. Cash only. Very strange. They have no kids menu. Very odd. No carry out. So how about a grab a table and then just ask for a to go box!? The price of basically of any breakfast item costs about 20-30% more than your typical greasy spoon diner. $9 omelet is fine if it's of good quality but it's no better than a $6 one down the street. $5.50 for eggs, hash browns and toast but i can get the same slop down the street for $3. $20 plus tip for 2 adults and a toddler for breakfast and i could've got the same meal for $12 down the street. See a theme here!? One would logically think the food would be of better quality however it's not and it's debatable that it's lesser quality. The menu states "We charge extra for any extras" on the menu also is weird. So if want extra butter you're going to charge me extra!? Oh wait...I won't need any extra butter because your food comes drenched in it. Just very greasy and low quality in my opinion. All these people who say this place is cheap...compared to what!? Maybe the portions are bigger to explain the higher price!? Oh wait...2 eggs are 2 eggs so it's not bigger. 3 pieces of french toast is 3 pieces of french toast so it's not bigger. I'll try to polish this turd of a restaurant (in my opinion) and say at least while they were a little loud for my taste the wait staff was attentive.
