Came here for Coraline! I enjoyed the drinks here very much- the flight was strong and I definitely felt the caffeine. The other mother latte is not too sweet, which I like. It reminds me of a coastal cafe and I love it. On the sleepier side of town, easy to miss but a great place to spend a Saturday! read more

Stumptown is hands down one of my favorite coffee spots. The vibe is always chill, the staff know their stuff, and the coffee? Ridiculously good. You can really taste the difference in quality--super smooth, never bitter, and just overall well-balanced. I'm especially into their cold brew (honestly kind of addictive), but everything I've tried has been solid. You can tell they care about where their beans come from, and it shows in the flavor. Plus, the baristas are super friendly and actually seem excited to talk coffee, which I appreciate. read more

Ordered iced coffee latte that was recommended by the staff. It tasted good, and it had strong coffee texture and aromas. The outside sitting area is great and their store is decorated in a movie theme. Not too crowded so you can easily find a seat in the store and enjoy the coffee. Great spot for a coffee to go in Pasadena area. It has plenty of street parking in weekday. read more

Was in the area and finally had a chance to stop. I had seen that they were doing a Coraline collaboration. I was pretty excited to check it out unfortunately, it wasn't a very big collaboration. Once I finally got there. There was no merch. Everything was sold out. they had a few stickers Cold brew, in a can and a few pictures up on the walls. I ordered the cold brew coconut drink that they had for the movie they did have cute paper cup holders The drink was awful. It just tasted like cold brew coffee it actually tasted burnt. Customer service was very lacking. I was super excited when I walked in and was asking the girl about the collaboration, and she just seemed kind of irritated barely any kind of response didn't even let me know that there was a drink for the Coraline movie. I had to see that myself , I don't know if it was because it was close to closing time. They were in a hurry in a rush, but my first experience was not great. I definitely won't be going back. read more

I am sure at one time, their menu offered some tasty breakfast sandwiches. These were not evident when we went there on Saturday morning, April 18th, 2026. I inquired and the pleasant person behind the counter explained that their vendor stopped providing them but offered no information on when/if breakfast sandwiches would be back on the menu The coffee drinks were of course well made and delicious, which is expected from Stumptown. read more

This place is ok. Not sure if this is just a Coraline theme pop up and currently trending on TikTok? Of if this place is actually poppin. I mean the painting outside is nice and the few Coraline themes frames on the wall were cool but nothing really screamed Coraline theme. The coffee was good. Had a 16oz Quad Iced Latte, which he gave me half off for purchasing a bag of coffee. The location is nice but I'm not from Pasadena and don't find myself making the trip here again as I feel this place is way too hyped. Again, just me. The spot is nice. read more

Great coffee, nice renovation, but slowest coffee shop in the whole areas. Staff has over and over again rather chatted with each other about personal stuff or wiped the counter while letting customers wait a solid 5 minutes before even asking what anybody wants or welcoming/acknowledging. Some staff (not all) has a long way to go before service can be called semi acceptable. This morning was actually friendly and fast. ‍ read more

While the coffee shop appears clean and the male cashier welcoming.... a lot was left to be desired. I ordered 2 pastries. The pastry was supposed to be a blueberry coffee cake muffin and a brownie. The muffin was full of walnuts and flavorless. The blueberries tasted like they had been sitting in oil vs any kind of natural or sugar base. It wasnt tasty. Borderlining inedible. It was a sad muffin. I did not eat the brownie, gave it to my friend. Who in fact is a sweets eater.... and didnt finish it. My pal who ordered a coffee wasnt enthused either. read more

It's about to go down inside Stumptown where they don't play around with the oval brown. It's the only reason I can make it through the week and I can say they are definitely at the peak. I'm sure everything on their menu is on point but I went with something a little different to my tastebuds. I ordered the rose gold latte that was perfectly balanced blend of their coffee with floral notes. I also tried a regular vanilla latte which was on point of course. The shop itself is definitely chill and they have seating in the front so you can enjoy your Joe alfresco style. Service was on point and what took this experience to the next step was the mug service. That for me makes the coffee adventure next level. And that's my take, Peace out. read more

First time here and I picked up a matcha latte, slightly sweetened with vanilla as the barista recommended. Liked it a lot! Plenty of free street parking too. I just wish there were more seats inside, but not much they can do about that since there's only so much space. read more

Amazing pour over, cold brews, and lattes. I was so sad when the Stumptown in LA (arts district) closed down. Am still sad they chose to move to Pasadena instead... Came today to support them and was happy to see not much has changed in their quality. Delicious pour overs and hand crafted lattes. I've always loved how they don't charge extra for milk alternatives, they just understand that not everyone likes or can have milk from a cow. The space inside is okay. Smaller than LA, but still room for a quick place to chat with a friend or to get some work done. Plenty of restrooms right outside, super clean too. Service is still really friendly and happy. Parking.. isn't the best, but there are about 8 spots in the back and some street parking available. It made me extremely sad to read some of the recent reviews of this place. Service IS great, who cares if they dont have nametags, add prices are the same as they would be for any other coffee spot Pasadena, get yourself together and realize what a gem Stumptown is. LA would LOVE to have them back. read more

Heard great things about the place. Other than small indoor space, if I wasn't disabled in a wheelchair would be better review. There's accessible parking on back. Great. When I wheeled in, all tables taken. Noticed nice enclosed patio in front, but there's a step, so no go. Asked staff member, nice, but I'd have to wheel from back lot, around side, to front. At least half a block. Not feasible. Worse, barrista makes drink, sees me in wheelchair, offers no help. I got iced latte, tasted fine, but needed lid or would spill in wheelchair transport. Barely able to reach. No offer of help. Even with lid, had my wheelchair not been equipped with cupholder, I couldn't have carried. Did barrista care? Nope. Only actual help I got was from a customer who offered and did move a chair to make way for my wheelchair. Was here Wed, 4-8 at 4:30 in case managers want to sensitize male barrista. read more

I have been coming to Stumptown Coffee Roasters the past 8 years and it's my favorite espresso and coffee. I was going to the Arts District LA location and was sad to hear they were moving to Pasadena lol. This is my third time at the new location and I have to admit, I do like it a lot here. Parking is easier, they have more restrooms and more seating as well. The vibe is still dope and the staff is the same, friendly and chill. If you have never tried Stumptown coffee, I highly recommend it. read more

I forgot my coffee at home and thought I'd give Stumptown a try. I had the oatmilk latte. It was creamy and delicious. One of the better ones I've had compared to the other neighborhood coffee shops. It was on the pricier side-$7 a cup. At that price, it's a deterrent as a daily stop. Staff was friendly. read more

Welcome to Pasadena Stumptown! I came here early Saturday morning and there was a line forming to get their free swag bag and check out the new shop. The line moved pretty efficiently and the workers were pumping out orders. The shop itself is super cute. The decor is chef's kiss and ambience is perfection. I ended up trying their 8oz vanilla latte for $5.50 and I was sadly disappointed by it. No knock to the company, but my drink tasted like oatmilk with a dash of coffee (so bland). I enjoyed the beans I have tried previously, so I know that this experience has no affect on my opinions of Stumptown. Just get a plain coffee here or try one of their speciality drinks. Luckily, my visit here was worth it as I got a free bag that came with whole beans, a cute mug, and stickers! read more

Placed an online order at this location this morning. When I arrived, was told that the shop had neither of the two items I had ordered. Not that they were out of stock - but that they shop didn't carry them at all. They had already taken and received payment. I used to somewhat like their coffee; but given the high price and poor service, it simply isn't worth it. Far better options available in the neighborhood. read more

Stopped by this morning with my friend Iva after our Sunday trail run and didn't realize that we stumbled in to a private family and friends event. The gentleman at the front warmly welcomed us in after we asked if we could be friends . The brand new staff couldn't have been nicer and even proclaimed us as Customer #1 and Customer #2! The coffee was excellent and the ambiance was so cozy (those ceiling heaters ). We would soon learn that the gentleman who greeted us was the VP of Stumptown direct to consumer and spent so much time chatting with us about the business of coffee. Then we would go on to learn that he's a "recovering marathoner". So this will definitely will be our post run spot going forward and we can't wait to celebrate the grand opening! First impression: the parking lot really sent me all the way to hell. When you turn in, parking is shared with HomeState and you'll have to make a very tight 90 degree angle turn into the Stumptown parking lot that's located in the back. I don't know how this design ever got approved by the City but in any case, coffee was mid. I got the cold brew and it was on the acidic side, not very smooth. Personally not my preference. I had a sip of an iced latte and it was much better. Shop was very small and hard to even standby to wait for the coffee because you are cutting into the line to order. There is a patio out front and a couple seats inside. Restrooms are in the back and seem to be shared with sinks outside. Honestly super weird set up if you ask me. Would I come back? Definitely not going out of my way to. My recommendation to you is to park on the street. Once you turn into the parking lot, it's over. Good luck getting out! SMH read more

If you love Coraline you have to come here! My daughter and I love Coraline and when we saw they had a limited edition Coraline drinks, we drove out to Pasadena. The cold brew cans are very cute but would definitely sweeten it next time! The cold brew with vanilla was okay, we didn't think it's a must. They did have teas, some desserts and merchandise as well. Overall it's worth the visit for the Coraline theme and for the experience. read more

Excited to have a Stumptown location in Pasadena. There is plenty of street parking in the area and a small lot that fills quickly. The staff is friendly and the location is kept clean. I had a coconut cream cold brew and it was delicious! I was asked if I would like to start a drink punch card (free drink after 10) and as long as they keep this cold brew on the menu I can see myself filling up that punch card soon. I did not have food on this visit but they have some good looking pastries and a few hot food items. read more

Coraline Dream! Their Coraline themed stuff is great. If you want to combine really good coffee with a mixed space, this is the spot. Building is half indoor and outdoor. Gives lots of fresh air and nice space to work from. Strong WiFi Staff is quick and friendly. I would recommend here for a WFH location. read more

Leaving a rating here not because this business is amazing or anything - it's a coffee shop and the coffee is good while still regularly overpriced these days but - The barista Brooklyn is a pinnacle gem barista in this community of Altadena for the past many years at the coffee shops I've frequented. This Stumptown location is extremely lucky to have her personality and her barista excellence. Thank you for your great coffee and incredible service Brooklyn! read more

But theirs is so lovely - it was the Sicily ($6.25 - Ethiopian cold brew, orange blossom water, lemon juice, touch of raw sugar, lime zest). It drinks like a refreshing tonic BUT I love that they shake this beverage and then top it with fresh lime zest. Lovely. I also had the ham & cheese croissant and it was awesome. I was eyeing the miso kouign amann but opted out, I'll have to come back for it as well as some of their matcha options!

Final thoughts: These pastries are more expensive than in other places( pain au chocolat for almost $7 and croissant for $5.5). Would I come back: yes to get the plain croissant.

For mains we got the House Italian Sausage pizza, the Calabrian Salami pizza, and the Rabbit Bolognese. Both pizzas were great but the Calabrian Salami was definitely our favorite! The honey and spice combo was so good and the crust was perfectly crispy. The Rabbit Bolognese was also incredible, and tasted fresh and light instead of heavy like some bolognese can be. Our waiter gave us the pistachio tiramisu on the house for my mom's birthday, which was such a sweet gesture, and it was delicious! He took great care of us all night and even helped get multiple angles of our group photo haha. Thank you Marina for such a great experience, we will definitely be back :)

Parking was a breeze, which is a small miracle for this town. The vibe here? Subdued cool. You get hit with a slick street sign on the sidewalk, a sandwich board repping their Coraline collab, and some window graphics that actually manage to be interesting. No sensory overload, just clean, simple, and effective design. Eye-catching without trying too hard. Walking in, there's this massive awning that blurs the line between inside and out--a big glass barn door giving the whole space an open-air lounge feel. Inside, it's not a huge spot, but it's got character. Merch section? Bare bones, but they were pushing that Coraline gear hard. Apparently, everyone beat me to it because they were almost sold out. I started with their seasonal Strawberry Lemonade, which had a perfectly balanced sweetness--not too much, not too little, just right for a refreshing treat. I also ventured into new territory with *The Other Mother* Black Sesame Latte Iced. I wasn't sure what to expect, but wow--it surprised me! The flavors were so well-balanced that I ended up loving it more than I thought I would. We also ordered an Iced Matcha with two pumps of vanilla, which was perfect for my personal preference of sweetness. I was really excited to visit Stumptown Coffee, especially since it's themed around one of my daughter's favorite movies, Coraline. However, upon entering, we were disappointed to find that the theme was minimal, with only a few photos adorning the walls. It felt more like a standard coffee shop than a unique Coraline experience. When we approached the counter to order, we noticed that most of the staff seemed preoccupied and not very welcoming. Only the person who took our order acknowledged us, while the others looked our way without saying a word. This lack of warmth in customer service was a letdown. My daughter and I ordered the pumpkin spice latte, but it fell short of our expectations--it didn't taste like pumpkin spice at all, and my daughter didn't enjoy hers at all. Overall, our experience wasn't great. It's possible we visited during a particularly off moment, but based on our visit, I can only give this place two stars.
