Stumptown has good coffee and good service. However, twice when I ordered espresso shots, I noticed that the amount didn't correspond to what I ordered when I asked the barista. They started explaining to me that they give ristretto shots. I tried to explain that if somebody orders espresso shots they should get Press shot not ristretto shots and they just said that that's the way they do it there I believe this location, then should change their menu to indicate ristretto and not espresso if that's not what they serve. I know it's a small difference but if you're thinking of getting .5 ounces as opposed to 1 ounce of liquid it makes a difference. read more

i don't know why there's so many negative reviews!? i loved my experience here. sad that i didn't get the coraline drinks but there were still some coraline cold brews and stickers for $2. the drinks itself, i'm not sure if they accidentally put our drinks in a small cup but we asked for medium and it's the smallest cup ever. besides that we loved everything else. we got a mint matcha and a vanilla matcha with oat milk. they were both so delicious and came out really fast. the service was great! the inside is clean and spacious. great experience i love everything about it except the prices with the small amount of drink read more

This place was OKAY, nothing special or memorable. Another iced matcha with oat milk that was $7. Not worth the price but I will say their restrooms were very nice and smelled so good/clean!(if anyone cares to know that lol) their vegan chocolate chip cookie was delicious so if anything go for that. read more

I am a huge fan of Stumptown and really excited to have them near my family's home in LA. This will definitely be my local coffee spot when I am in town. It doesn't hurt that Homestate is next door. Brand new stomped down coffee roasters opened up in Altadena recently and you know I just had to go check it out! It's located in the up-and-coming Lincoln Avenue area right next to Home State tacos and Semolina pasta place. As far as the menu goes, the coffee choices are not expensive so there's only a few select options but I guess quality of quantity, right? I got to come here twice, the first time it was a rainy day, and I was able to try the iced raspberry rose Cortada latte, which was very good but the second time I had run out of the raspberry syrup, which was disappointing. As far as seating goes, on the rainy day that I went there was an abundant amount of feeding, but the second weekend we went, it was so hard to find a seat. Stumptown's drinks tend to be on the less sweet side, so I usually ask for extra sweeteners since I have a sweet tooth. Overall high-quality coffee in a very cute coffee shop. The last time it was in stump town. Coffee roasters was in Oregon and I first got to try it and taking my first sip here in LA just gave me warm and fond memories of my trip to Portland. read more

First and foremost I Love coraline and coffee! I decided to take my Loving girlfriend here, it took me almost an hour to get here. I was really looking forward to have some coffee as well as enjoy the ambiance, however my excitement was unfortunately crushed when I took a sip of that coconut cream cold brew as it was very sour almost as if it were expired, it was expensive and unfortunately very awful, I did save the cup holders though! Personally I'm a fan of the ambience and decor over some of the other shops in the area. The patio area is a nice spot to sit. I've been a fan of their seasonal drinks. The current pomegranate latte is something a little different that I'll admit has brought me back. I've generally had some pretty friendly service but on one visit I did leave feeling like I was an inconvenience for being there and ordering. So that echos a few of the reviews. The Stumptown location in DTLA has been my favorite coffee shop for about as long as I can remember. I used to go there just about every weekend for years. I'm bummed that the LA location closed but I went to their "friends and family" event today before their opening next weekend and I love the new location. Unfortunately this location is a little too far away from me, but I'll still stop by once in a while since I really love their coffee and all the employees are incredibly nice. This is seriously waiting-in-line purgatory!! THE waiting room to Dante's Inferno, no doubt. Testing your patience like no other place on earth. I had high hopes for this place given that there are no other coffee shops in the area. I have frequented it enough to scratch my head raw after each experience. I always leave this place speaking tongues at how livid and enraged I become because of how f*****(@#* bad and sssslllllloooooooooooowwwwwww the service is. Now, I know that there are people who ask a thousands questions about coffee, and honestly at this point in time, we should all know the options. There is no great mystery to be had here...Hot / cold coffee options, drip, iced, cold-brew, matcha, tea, it is not rocket science people! Back to the service. And don't come at me with, "This is a place to relax" when there is music blaring and only six tables where people can sit. Nope! BS! Anyone crazy enough to stay here after enduring that purgatory has reached enlightenment or is stoned out of their minds. Please do better! This is also a call out to other business owners who may want to open a better coffee shop(which is not a challenge if this place continues doing business like it has since it opened). Preferably business owners that understand the demographic in this area. Why are there no black or brown bodies employed here when that is the majority of the residents in this area?!! Very DISAPPOINTED! Worst Chai Latte I have ever had. My fault for not requesting "No Foam" but seriously, after dumping it out in the trash I had about 2 oz. left in my cup. We also ordered a Matcha Lavender Latte that tasted like dirt. The Barista was rude and impatient. He frowned with disgust when we asked for additional Lavender and Honey to be added to the drink. Had the seasonal iced pomegranate latte and it was delicious, with a very cute garnish. Couldn't snap a pic but highly recommend. Also, the shared parking lot is the same one for HomeState. If you have a big SUV or truck, park at your own risk! Exit maneuvering is pretty tricky if you come at it from the wrong angle. Super cute coffee place though. Love the indoor-vibed outdoor space out front, as well as the air-conditioned interior. Drove past Saturday morning 10:30 and the line was like 20 people long. Came back Wednesday at 9:15am and only had a three person wait. :). Most of the tables were full. Will be back on a weekday to try more! read more

Best place for coraline lovers. It is a must visit place. Granted I got there on probably one of the hottest days so the wait line was not a good place to be. Wait line was about an hour and 30 minutes. The staff there are very sweet. My friend and I got their coraline drink with coconut milk and it was good.
