This is a place I wanted to like. South side take-out pizza joint. Founded by two brothers who ran an Italian ice cart and traveled thru Italy to learn how to make pizza. I would give them 20 stars if I could. The pizzas are outstanding, you won't find a bad item on the menu, and you don't get customer service like the boys and their crew provide. If you are in the Clearing area and you don't stop and check them out, you are doing yourself a huge disservice. My wife and I are customers for life. We love Stunods. read more

Ever since the demise of Caesar's (sp?) Pizza on the 60-hundred something of south Pulaski Road in West Lawn from the 1970s-1980s, I have been on somewhat of a quest to locate a comparable to my memory quality Breaded Steak Sandwich. La Milanese from 32nd Place & May St (also now gone) was a true match. Ricobene's has it's place -- but it is not the same as the thicker cut steak, gravy-laden, cheesy masterpieces inadequately held together in fresh French or Italian bread. We had high-hopes as we headed to Stunod's Pizza -- owned and operated by members of the Battaglia Family (of some notoriety). The Breaded Steak Sandwich was "ok" and rather underwhelming. Even the bread was disappointing -- kind of flavorless and kinda fell apart. The slice of cheese pizza was tasty and we would definitely return for a whole pie. (Sorry no pic, ripped into it immediately.) The hand-cut garlic-parm fries were also very good. The store-front restaurant only has two small round tables, most likely due to COVID19 restrictions - so don't plan a full-family outing. To go or delivery, aside from a quick-bite, is the way to go. Service was quick and friendly. The do feature "Buddy's Italian Ice" which we did not try on this trip. Next time. This is a fledgling business only open since 2019, so they deserve some local love. If we could give half stars in the review, Stunod's would be a solid 3.5. read more

It's been to long since I've been back to this place. I was assigned a mission of sorts, to find the best slice of Za out around Clearing and Garfield Ridge. There are a lot of pizza joints out here but was only interested in slices. You say "Slices?". Well if the slice is great the whole pie is awesome, another mission at a later date. And I know I still got to get to the chicken parm and meatballs sandwich! Now you got to like the staff that when you ask them a question about the menu they give you a direct answer. They don't look around for help from the other employees. A+ in my book. Love the interior of this place. Only thing missing is some Vino.....Forgetaboutit!!!!!! Now about these slices, one cheese and one sausage, that's how every joint was scored on. Always like to watch the guy making the Za! He didn't disappoint, no scales just judged by the eye if there were enough of each ingredient applied. He made this pie like he was going to eat it!! You could tell he was making the pie with LOVE, when it's made that way it's yummy and delicious! Anyway he didn't learn his profession on the Northside.....Banda bing!!!! Just kidding, relax Francis. First up, slice of cheese.....overall 8 out of 10. It was sitting for a minute but had great flavor and the undercarriage was really good for being warm. I so wanted a second slice to confirm this score but on to the slice of sausage. Now this burned my face off and boy it didn't disappoint.......10/10 for the score! Sauce on point and undercarriage was phenomenal and the sausage..... couldn't get enough. I, and must repeat this, I enjoyed, no that's not appropriate, I loved these slices and would declare Stunod's as the place to grab a slice. Let me also jump on the 5-star train. I don't know how these guys do it but they do it well. The neighborhood was long overdue for an establishment like this & after 45 yrs in the neighborhood it finally arrived...great food, personable staff. 2 Italian sausage sandwiches, red & sweet tonite were like old school. The pizza's are always done to perfection also each time. It would be great to see one of the flanking storefronts open up to where the guys might consider sit-down dining also. read more

On my previous post, I only gave them one star because of them messing up my sandwiches. Tonight when I ordered, they sent me two sandwiches and both were messed up. I called and complained to the manager again and hung up because I was frustrated. A little while later the bell rang and it was the delivery guy he brought me my sandwich and the manager sent me a pop and some cookies to apologize for the mix-up. I really appreciate that he did that especially being that I hung up on him. Their steak sandwiches pretty good but it is not as good as Ricobene's steak sandwich but it's not bad. I will have to say that the manager was nice to do that and the customer service is pretty good. read more

Family pizza was awesome! Owners, Frank and Austin were there to greet you when you walked in the door. The night we stopped, even their Dad greeted us. The crust was amazing. We ordered when we landed at Midway. Drive home was 20 minutes. The crust didn't get soft and mushy, it maintained its crispy texture. Please think about Stunod! Tried Stunod's Pizzeria for the first time tonight. When I try a pizza place for the first time, I usually just get a cheese pizza. I got an 18" hand-rolled pizza and it was great. Even though they cut it in square slices, it looked like one of those brick oven pizzas from Italy that you see on tv. It wasn't a perfect circle. The middle was thin and flat but the crust was large and fluffy. Great sauce. It was delicious. I also tried the 1/4 lb breaded steak sandwich with hot & sweet peppers. Great marinara sauce that was soaked up by your typical Gonnella/Turano bread. Definitely ordering from Stunod's again. It is yet another phenomenal addition to the amazing pizza joints in the Garfield Ridge/Clearing area. One of the guys at the carry-out counter said that they opened up last October. Went in yesterday for the first time to pick up lunch for my office. We each ordered something different to give it a shot. Breaded Steak, Hamburger, Meatball Sandwich, Sausage, Hand Cut Fries, and Fried Zucchini. It was unanimous...Everybody loved it (myself included on the Breaded Steak). I will start off by saying if you order from here plan on waiting a long time. First time I ordered a pizza for pick up it was 1 hour 30 minutes for pick up. As for the food!!!! Not great. Wings and cheese sticks frozen out of a bag. Pizza was edible butjust OK to say the least. Breaded steak was OK, there are 3 to 4 places in the area that are way better. Customer service was good. I visited today 10/09/22 for the first time. What brought me in were the reviews. Unfortunately upon receiving my pizza I was very disappointed. Maybe it was just an off day for them. Seemed as if there was possibly an untrained person putting this pizza together. Terrible cuts. Pepperoni was super sloppy, and the crust is a little less firm than I enjoy. Sauce is good sausage is good. I'll give it another try in time. read more

Stunod's has the best burgers ever!!! And the Meatball sub is amazing and so is the pizza there . The Chicken Parmesan is so good it could not compare to anything. ordered a pizza couple weeks ago kind lift on the toppings? Ordered another last week as a second chance asked the guy on the phone if he can make it half baked he says don't know but hang on. Comes back and says we can do that. Pick it up and the baker says I screwed up and baked it full but I can make another (right but no time for another). Paid and left. He didn't know on my original call I overheard the caller asking about half bake and someone behind the scene saying do worry he can just heat it up in the oven. Light on toppings and not getting what you ask for and kinda pricey. South of railroad tracks stick with Vincies , north Dannys or Obbies. New but not impressive better off with the old reliable. Great place to go to just remodeled good food but it would be nice if they put in at least an outlet or some charging stations for peoples phones you want to keep people in the house so if you offer dessert or something like that they'll stay and eat and then get something else or maybe take something to take home with them you got to think of longevity read more

I miss D'anardos pizza. Stunod's is totally different. The dough to me felt undercooked on the bottom but burnt at the top and the toppings are soggy in the middle. Delivery took over an hour and I was generally disappointed. I will try one more time I hope it improves read more
