Geisha Roll, CA Roll and Beef Tacos, Rice & Beans.
    Racquel E.

My in-laws recommended this place, which offers an interesting combination of Mexican and Japanese dishes. Our daughter had beef tacos with rice and beans and my hubby had the Bento Box - teriyaki beef, grilled garlic shrimp, asian slaw and pickled daikon. I opted for Sushi and had the Geisha roll - spicy yellowtail, cucumber, avocado, hokkaido scallops, black tobiko and wasabi salt and a California roll. Overall our dinner was good-tasting.

The food here is outstanding. I was very impressed with how amazing the dining experience here is . The service is outstanding, The food is fresh , delicious, and memorable. My favorite roll was the surf n turf roll. I wish I didn't live so far away because if I lived close, I would eat this once a week.. I also love the restaurant decor , it is really pretty and memorable.

The food was definitely a treat! Dropped in for Dinner with out of town friends around 6:30 P.M. on Sunday 08JAN2023 [Review #1 2023] After walking through the casino area, we found that this is a dual restaurant. One side Sushi, the other side Mexican. My wife ordered a Carnitas Burrito, my middle daughter had a kids quesadilla, my son had fries, my eldest daughter had a California Roll (her favorite.) I ordered a spider roll, spicy tuna, and rainbow roll (this one was very tasty!) My friends had a carne asada burrito, which was thoroughly enjoyed, an order of chicken taquitos, and a sushi roll (I missed the item she ordered as I wasn't paying attention once I got my food!) talk about hitting the spot and then some for our first dinner after new year. We had ok service, with a slight misfire as all the Mexican food came out fast, the sushi trailed by about 10-15 minutes. We felt a bit rushed as I wasn't even halfway done with my sushi and our server already brought out the check and given us takeout boxes. I can see the perspective of those who ate Mexican food were finished, but those of us who got our 2000 & LATE sushi were still working on our meal. This took away from the good food we were enjoying and enjoyed up to that point. This kind of killed the vibe for me. The restaurant wasn't that busy, although when we left there were more patrons than when we arrived. Points for improvement, don't rush your diners. I like to enjoy my meals, not breath them in like Major Payne. Unsure if we will come back based on the service despite the food being on point. There are many other places with better service and prices.

The good. The scallop crudo was amazing and the seafood udon was as well. So much good big seafood in it and the broth was so flavorful. The rolls were good but I'm not really a roll person so I would pass on those next time. Sadly you seem to need reservations to get in and they aren't open past 9:30 which is tough when you don't get out of work till 6.

It was a hot and miss for me. Some days they sushi were great, when we sit at the bar mostly. But when we sat at the table in the restaurant the sushi sucked. We ate couple of pieces and we stopped, they were gross. The sushi bar itself and the sushi maker when eating at the bar, good experience. I recommend eating at the sushi bar, you get to be tend to more and you can see the freshness of the sushi.

I had to do takeout. I'm sure presentation in the restaurant is a lot better than this.

I'm gonna preface this review by saying I've been sick so my taste buds are probably altered. I read a lot about the Poké bowl and the sushi rolls so it was a hard choice but i chose the Poké bowl and the green tea noodles. They gave a very generous portion of the tuna however could not detect any of the macadamia nuts that were in the description and the reason I ordered this dish. (On a call back they said it's a crumble or dusting of nuts. You won't know they are there) The noodles are served cold which was surprising and they're delicious. If you like Poké bowls, I would recommend this. For dessert I had strawberry mochi which were out of this world. Only two pieces I thought three would've been a fairer portion for $6

This Sushi spot is located inside the Silverton casino, next to Mi Casa grill cantina. My son and I were staying here for the night, so being sushi lovers, we had to stop for a couple rolls. When we came up to the front we were greeted and seated immediately. My son and I like to sit at the sushi bar, so nothing changed on this visit. I loved that this sushi bar it had (8) T.V.'s! The waitress came over shortly after being seated and handed us menu's and we ordered our drinks. My son ordered the "Philadelphia" roll ($13) and I ordered the "baked lobster" roll ($18). They were both quite delicious! The miso soup ($5) was also delicious and very warm to the taste. Our visit to "Su Casa" was delightful and had a great dinner. We stay at the Silverton quite often, so I'm sure we will be back soon.

I just got my players card there and was granted two dining coupons that I had to use within a week. I choose Su Casa because the idea of Mexican?/Japanese fusion sounded quite innovative. I choose well! It's a small area in the Mi Casa restaurant beautifully lit with amber yellow light. Our server was this adorable woman and I wish I got her name, but we definitely took care of her. I had a first that night as well: Sparkling Sake! It wasn't on the menu as it was a new addition. It was our awesome server who mentioned it. It was really bubbly! I think it was the first time she served it because when she poured from the bottle it kind of overflowed from the glass! That bubbly! It was good, maybe just a tad sweeter than I expected. But I would order it again. I had the best poke bowl Ive ever had. Another first: Green tea buckwheat noodles instead of rice for my poke. Great choice, they are filling and very tasty. The hamachi was fresh and tender and the sauce was perfect. My garlic tuna hand roll was tasty and well presented and my unagi nigiri was good as expected. My husband got the ramen bowl that was fully loaded with goodies and a traditional tuna roll. This place doesn't have the largest menu but gosh, the food is just so good! And I've eaten a ton of sushi and lots of poke bowls over the years. This is definitely a destination.

Su casa finally reopened after being closed during the pandemic, I come to the Silverton from time to time and half the attraction is not only it's a nice casino but there are several restaurant choices which are all delish. When we saw the sushi bar had reopened we had to give it another try. The food was good like I remembered it. Grabbed a seat in the VIP section also known as the bar. ordered the spicy edamame and a bowl of miso soup. The soup was brothy and full of Miso flavor. The edamame was so good, seasoned well with a hint of spice. The simple dishes are Always the best. We ordered the baked scallop roll and the shrimp and avocado roll. They were both freshly prepared and very good. I'm a little heat challenged so I added my Wasabi to my soy sauce for a nice bite. The menu is small but mighty, they offer Sushi to Ceviche to Ramen! Decisions, decisions. Can't wait to try the Ramen the next time so I can continue working on my chopstick skillz!!!!

Do you have soy or rice wrappers to make the rolls with for those who don't care for the nori wraps?

We do not, but our chef is very accommodating and can work with you to make it without the nori wraps.

Drink wise: 10/10 would recommend the Strawberry Lychee Soju cocktail Nicole's customer service was on point during my family's most recent visit. Everything we ordered came out at a reasonable time and our water jug was proactively refilled without us having to flag her down. She even greeted my dad for Father's Day! That was a lovely touch, seeing as we came in right before the dinner rush. Coming from a brief food service background myself and in the interest of mindfulness, I try to make ordering a lot of items as easy as possible. Chef Shuji runs the restaurant with his wife next to him in the kitchen. The fish here is flown in from Japan and of the highest quality as you can see from the sheen and fat marbling. The tuna melts in your mouth and bite after bite is a wonderful experience as you pair it with soy sauce, fresh Wasabi, yuzu Wasabi, or some combination of the condiments provided. This is also the first sushi restaurant I have ever been to that automatically brings out fresh Wasabi without having to ask. The portions are generous and we left feeling very satisfied. Even though we were very full, we took a look at the dessert menu. Not pictured here is a sweet potato with ice cream and brown sugar glaze. This dish on the menu was unassuming but the taste was so decadent. Quite possibly the best and sweetest sweet potato I have ever tasted. The chef slowly roasts them over a 2 hour period, rotating the potatoes every so slightly every 15 minutes. The sweet potato could be a dessert by itself, it was that good! Chef Shuji is a charming and funny host. He regularly comes out to greet his customers and makes sure they are enjoying their meal, very high-touch. If you know Japanese - even if it's just a few phrases, speak with him as he will be delighted. He was absolutely tickled when we said arigato and he shared that he is originally from Kyoto.
