Came a little later in the day and so many flavors were sold out already. That's when you know it's goood! The service was so friendly and nice. I got the blueberry filled, twist and the chocolate frosted. These donuts were so good and fresh! The twist was the perfect bite! It was so soft and not super dense. The blueberry frosted was definitely my favorite! The blueberry frosting was so fresh and has lots of blueberries inside and it was not too sweet. There was so much filling too. The chocolate frosted was really good as well. Definitely will be back to try the other flavors. A must visit to this mom and pop shop! Will want to try the subs as well.

With the additional three dollars for some munchkins that were mostly air the total bill here was $20

I'm sorry, I will not be returning. The donuts are old and are dried out. I was really looking forward to the cinnamon twist for my wife cause that was her favorite but When I looked at it, it was half the size of what it used to be. I am looking for the owners. They are not there. I'm asking. Do these people even have a business license and a health license that is current because the the aftertaste of old grease in the blueberry donut and the others as well should not be there it tastes rancid. I finally got out of the lady behind the counter that the owners sold the business five months ago to her and the other young lady and it looks like they did not speak much of any English, besides the fact that this is not an even exchange of money for food.

Mom and pop donuts and famous apple fritters. The food lived up to its recommendation. We were happy to try a new place a little out of the way. We will stop here again. The sub sandwiches are pretty good too.

I was in the area and wanted to try something that I could not try on my side of town. After a little research I opted for something that I would not ordinarily go for. What I mean by that is that it was clear that this place is no frills. I walked in and there was only one patron in the shop on a Friday afternoon. Given the great reviews I really anticipated a larger crowd. As I noted above, this place is no frills. It honestly appears that the owners may occasionally live out of the place. It's filled with what I would call house plants. I even saw what I imagine is their mode of transportation to work every day- bikes! I wanted to try a sub and donuts. I figured it would not be a place I would be back to anytime soon given it's proximity to my side of town. I ordered a sub and two donuts. The sun was decent. Nothing to write home about. The donuts- I did not care for. They honestly tasted stale and just not good. If I were in the area and need a basic meal I guess I would come in for a sub. I do feel like I am being generous with my average rating.

The 5 stars are for the donuts. The subs are fine. Go early so you have a lot of donuts to pick from! They don't take American Express. My favorite donuts: Butter Milk, Blueberry Cake, Apple Cinnamon (with apple pie-like filling), Sour Cream, Honey Dip, Solid Chocolate. As far as their subs, they don't have very many toppings. They have: lettuce, tomato, and onion. They have mayonnaise, mustard, and Italian dressing. They have a variety of meat. I only had turkey, but it was really good. A 7-inch turkey sub is $5.19. Not bad! I'll definitely keep going back for the donuts!

I just saw a post from someone from 3 hours ago that gave this gem a negative review. They mentioned the donuts being dry and not fresh! I am so confused because I purchased a dozen of the best donuts an hour ago. This place has always been consistently amazing and fresh. The donuts don't stick around long enough to be stale. I thank the ladies who are working so hard to deliver an amazing treat. Great way to start my Saturday!

I went here around 12:39 and got the turkey sandwich. I wanted to get a donut, but unfortunately there weren't many lady. I don't know if they're just that good and sold by that time or if that was all that was made. *the turkey sandwich had all the great stuff in in (lettuce, tomato, mayo, mustard) but it was very dry. They do add little mustard and mayo and I asked for more but they don't do packets.. maybe I should have asked for it in a container, but I didn't think that far ahead, so when it was eating it, I didn't enjoy it because of how dry it was. But the produce itself was really good! I dont know if I'd go back. COVID friendly for those who are still wearing masks.

I rated both of the businesses, run by the same couple, an overall 4 stars. R and I came here for lunch the other day. Parking in the free parking lot was readily available. It's shared by the other neighboring businesses in a very small strip mall. Entering the store/restaurant, it looks like a donut shop and kitchen were built at the back of someone's large sunroom that has a big collection of various sizes of potted plants against the front windows. The roomy (but mostly blocked off from seating) dining area takes up the front half of the store. Farther back is the donut shop on the left, and the non-donut part of the store is on the right. Customers need to order on the respective sides; however, the Point of Sale is on the donut shop side. The woman employee was very nice, quick and efficient. She also brought our food to our table soon after we had ordered at the counter. The menu features sandwiches (subs), hot dogs, salads, chips, canned and bottled drinks - all on the right side of the store. The donut shop features a good variety of deliciousness, such as donuts (of course!), bagels, cinnamon rolls, apple fritters, croissants, and other items. What caught my eye on the menu was the cost of a dozen filled donuts: $12.49. Huh? I'll be back in the future for those. R and I ordered The Italian subs, which is described on the menu as "Italian Meats and Cheese." On my sub, I got everything possible on it, per the menu - lettuce, tomato, onion, mustard, mayo, and "our secret Italian dressing." So, I wasn't sure exactly which meats and cheese I had ordered, but it was good, and, at $5.19, it was certainly a bargain. There was a nice amount of meats and cheese, and everything else, in the sandwich. Was it the best tasting? No. But at that price point, I really couldn't complain. I went to the donut side to pay for our subs before another employee made them, and, seeing the donuts just sitting there in the racks, couldn't help but buy one for each of us: Boston Cream for me and an old fashioned glazed for R - to go. We ate them later, and we both agreed that the donuts were great (and at great individual prices). I'm pretty sure that I'll be back to get a dozen sometime. I'll have to remember that they don't accept AmEx cards. Two 7" subs, a can of Coke, a bottle of water, a small bag of chips, a Boston Cream donut and an old fashioned glazed donut, and I walked away from the cash register after paying $16.92, including tip. How was that possible? No complaints about the service, food or price!

Separate counters for donuts and subs ($7 and change for a combo). They prefer cash, $0.50 upcharge for cards.

Its vietnamese owned. The gentleman has been here for 30 years n opened the shop. The wife moved here 5 years ago. Sweet lady! The outside looks outdated. The surroundings are also in an older block. The donuts are ok. They r not sweet like Krispy Kreme. However, they lack something out of the mediocre. They are very bland, not very savory..I got the Honey Dip and I didnt even taste anything honey. The other one I got was Bavarian Cream and it was filled with custard like cream, which was sweet properly. The donuts were not hot or frozen. I didnt try the sandwiches as I only came here after reading the reviews about the donuts and I was in the area for work, on a late Tuesday morning. The price was ok. $1 each donut. Selection was OK. They had glazed, Twist, lemon,... I would not come back here just because I prefer the sweetness/savorness of Krispy Creme donuts (I dislike Dunkin Donuts as well). Krispie Cream is also more accessible to me. read more

There's no better donut in or around Atlanta than Dandy Donuts. If you're looking for a hip atmosphere & fancy flavor donuts (smores, reeces, etc.) you should go to Revolution or Sublime (they're both great). If you're looking for the best of the best of regular types of donuts (cake, cruller, glazed, chocolate glazed...) YOU HAVE FOUND YOUR SHOP. Their chocolate glazed is my go-to & the honey dip will make my husband drive across town for donuts. read more

Why has no one reviewed this place!!!! It is AWESOME!!! Old school independent donut shop. Or "shoppe" as they call it. Donut are light as air, and so so delish. Not heavy mass produced yuck like the chain places. Lucy and Dan are always friendly and greet you with a smile. Worth the drive!!!!! read more

Best donuts in town. They're cheap and oh so delicious, a great way to impress your co-workers too. Bring in a box of these for only (only $8 for a dozen!) and tell them all "this great local place." Once they have a bite they will be so happy your sure to be the most popular guy in the office. My favorites are the blueberry cake, apple filled, and apple cake. Would highly recommend to any donut lover. read more

I had to finally sign up for Yelp to write this review. It's hard to find a good donut shoppe in Atlanta and I didn't realize until recently this place was so close to where I live. I can't speak for the subs as I've not tried them yet, but the donuts are delicious. My absolute fave is the apple fritter - perfectly crispy and soft, sweet but not overwhelming. The place doesn't have awesome ambiance and it is easy to miss if you're not looking for it, but there were two really nice ladies working there when I visited who were super helpful and nice. I ordered a dozen assorted plus an apple fritter and the lady who helped me was really helpful in offering donut recommendations as I've not been there before. Will def be visiting again! read more

I'm surprised I haven't did a review of this place!!! The owners are the sweetest people ever! I normally go in around 9am on the weekdays and get like 3 donuts and one or two apple fritters. LISTEN - apple fritters are AMAZING!!! Best ones Ive ever had. The donuts are super good too, especially the buttermilk bar and the honey glazed. The price is even great too!!! Def. stop by and get some really good donuts from them if you are in the area! read more

I came here with my son for a bday date. We ordered donuts and a hot chocolate and decided to sit for a bit. I asked the lady who I assume is the owner could we have a plate to eat the donut and she said we don't have plates but there were paper plates in plain view. Then she said plates are not for donuts and she said it would cost 10 cents. I said fine but she was being rude and fussy for a simple paper plate. It was off putting and made my son and I uncomfortable. Donuts were average and customer service terrible so I will never be coming back and don't recommend anyone to give this place their business. read more

Went there for the first time today. Have heard great things about the doughnuts but I was there for lunch. Had the Italian sub. Sub was made fresh and the bread, meats, and cheese were very good. Personally I am a big toppings person so I would have preferred more variety in this regard. Price was SUPER cheap. The owners are very friendly. I highly recommend this place. read more

I don't have too many comments on this place. I went this morning around 9 am. It seems this establishment has been around for a little bit. Most of the customers around 9 were older folks. It was cute to see them all hanging out. The owners are not Korean (at least they weren't today) -- not sure if management changed. However, the lady that was getting me my donut was nice. They had donuts in the morning: jelly donut, bavarian creme, chocolate chocolate, boston creme, and several other options. They also had plain bagels, and a couple other items for reasonable prices. The donut was okay; it was thick/solid. I'm going to have to go back and visit again before I can give it more than 3 stars! I like hole in the walls ... so we shall see how their subs and other donuts are later. and I will update when I do! read more

Tried the blueberry cake donut and the apple fritter. It was really good, much better than your typical franchise donut shop. The owner was really nice as this was our first time here and suggested the apple fritter. Both donuts were really good and not too sweet. The place is outdated, but if you want a good donut for a reasonable price and friendly staff, give this place a try. read more

These donughts are the most delish Donughts I have ever had . When have you been able to buy seven delicious mouthwatering donuts for seven dollars? 1942?? We get them about three times a week on the way to middle school and my daughter and I always try to just have one but by the time we drop her off at middle school we have 2 each. You just can't help it. They are so nice and fluffy it almost feels like you're holding a piece of delicious air there is nothing like that first taste and I'm telling you that the first bite just melts so quickly in your mouth and you certainly cannot remember what any other donut before Dandee donuts tasted like their donuts are untouchable and my 5 year old said," if you close your eyes and put a bite in your mouth. Great classic donuts! If your looking for an alternative to corporate tasteless donuts aka Dunkin and the trendy pricey places that top their donuts with bacon aka davinci then Dandy is your place! They have the basic fair that every donut shop should have...cake donuts, sour cream, crullers, old fashioneds, fritters, glazed, creams. My favorite are the glazed twists....slight crust on outside and fluffy inside. $9 for a dozen. A great family run local small business. read more

I love love love the donuts here. The hubs and I love donuts and sub-base never disappoints, unless they're unexpectedly closed. That's the only downside. There are a couple of time that I've come at 6am to find they are closed for a specific reason. Otherwise, excellent donuts. Probably our favorite "classic" donut place in atlanta. read more

I drive to work from Duluth to Buckhead everyday and I literally have to force myself not to stop at this place for donuts regularly. I swear I hear them calling me! They are THAT GOOD and THAT ADDICTIVE! They beat KK & DD donuts by a landslide. You can taste the love in every single bite! These are by far, the best donuts I have ever eaten! May I suggest the Honey Dip or the Sugar Raised donuts or the Buttermilk Bars. You'll thank me later! read more

I'm from California where all the doughnut shops double as sandwhich shops-what else would they do after their doughnut breaks-so don't let the multi tasking name fool you. This place has the most amazing doughnuts! They are full of flavor, and look like they taste-beautifully wonderful! Plus, they are a bargain. Not only do you get wonderful doughnuts and a great price you get them from two of the nicest ladies the doughnut world has ever seen. Gotta love Sub Base! read more

If you want donuts...they are great here. I'd prefer this place over Dunkin. Get the donut holes too. Now for lunch the subs are great. I prefer the tuna but they are all good. The bread is very light and the wheat is also. Adding double meat or extra cheese is not worth the added cost. Stick to the menu. read more

FINALLY - an awesome donut shop near work - I'm soooo happy. I walked in and saw the Korean owner and there was a direct hymn from the heavens telling me that all was finally right in my Atlanta donut hunt. They had all of the staples that I am use to (french crullers, chocolate bars) but they lacked my favorite donut of all - the maple bar, but still, awesome place. $4 for a dozen - I'm happy! read more

Sub-Base..? DANDY DONUTS! I'm a proud Chamblee alum and I used to go here all the time after school. The owners are the nicest people you will ever meet and the food is amazing. I think they renovated - which is great because there is now a flat screen in the eating area. The prices are great so you won't have to worry about breaking the bank. I recommend my old trifecta: the raspberry jelly filled donut, the Philly cheesesteak and a strawberry-kiwi Snapple! read more

I went to this shop based on the yelp ratings. I'm not sure how this place has four stars. The food was sub-par, no pun intended. The cheese steak sandwich was all bread and not the good kind of bread, it had the feel of a Walmart bakery roll, all air and no flavor. My co-workers got the heroes and were disappointed as well. The donuts which we were looking forward to based on the reviews were non existent. They had one or two of maybe half of the donuts listed and they didn't look tasty. After the sandwiches we didn't stop to try them. They place is dingy, drab and the family working there looked like they were going through the motions and had the TV so loud we could barely hear each other and we were the only three people in the joint. read more

I lived in the neighborhood for almost 2 years, first time to dig it out. Quite lovely place, just opposite the street of a high school, great customer stream! Those popular flavors are easily sold out in the early morning, if you wanna try them, have to get up early =) love the buttermilk, willing to try more. read more

Tried this place for the first time today and I love it!!! Yummy fluffy perfect donuts that won't break the bank. It's directly across from chamblee charter high, btw, in an unassuming little strip center. Reminds me of a donut and sandwich place out in Vegas that was equally yummy. I got a selection of a dozen donuts - plus two fritters- and paid $12 and change. Can't beat that. Wish these things were actually a health food because I know I'll be back. read more

This is definitely a hidden gem. I'll probably never go to dunkin doughnuts again since the coffee and doughnuts here are excellent and taste less processed. The owners are a sweet little couple and I love supporting these kinds of businesses. Stop by, grab a coffee and a doughnut. read more

We've been intending to try this place for awhile. The interior pretty much matches the exterior, so I would plan on taking it to go. Although the lady at the counter was super friendly and nice. I think she's an owner. They have a decent selection of cake donuts and raised donuts. I ordered a glazed twist and a chocolate dipped sour cream (since there were no chocolate dipped cake). Our server came over quickly to take our drink orders, and afterward she came back to answer any questions. Most of the food was ready at the same time. We appreciated that it came out as it was ready and wasn't left sitting. And everyone enjoyed the food! The only "complaint" one of my friends had was that she thought there was a little too much sauce in her shrimp and grits dish. She felt that the sauce, while it tasted great, overpowered the dish and she would've liked to taste more of the grits flavor. All in all, I'd say we'll likely be back to try something else on the menu.

This was kind of irritating and my daughter had already peeped this as we were standing in line waiting for our sandwiches with our sides on a tray getting cooler and cooler. The line was long and this will likely be the case a lot of the time so this doesn't work well. My daughter had a special order of beef taquitos that had to come out later so you know her sides were cold. When she requested new sides or to warm them up she was met with an attitude by one of the workers so that didn't go over well. This was weird to us because the food shoud be warm at the very least, so customer service was lacking there but they did honor her request. If they are going to keep this cafeteria line style setup, we all thought the meats and entrees should be first and then sides so as to avoid having lukewarm or cold sides because all four of us had cold sides by the time we sat down after getting get our drinks and sauces and stuff. And sides should come out together with the special orders so the food is not cold. But hey, I know I'm not Lewis, but yall got my two cents anyway Overall, we had delicious food in a nice, clean establishment. And on the plus side, the Beltline is literally a few steps away!

I stopped by to grab some thank-you gifts for my instructors at The Iron Yard and popped my Sublime cherry.
