I'm giving this place a 5 star review although I'm not sure it needs another one. One of the few places with a 5 star (okay, technically 4.9) rating. Genuinely, this is a great spot for a quick, delicious lunch. I had a tomato basil soup and cornbread with honey on this visit and it was great. The soup was creamy and tangy, the cornbread was a little sweet but very tasty. I'm looking forward to becoming a regular here, especially since this is the kind of place that remembers repeat customers. I have never loved a place so much. I crave soup and always love having such an amazing spot to go to. The entire menu is worth trying. Came here for the first time for a lunch on our drive. Customer service was fantastic! The guy at the front helped me pick out the perfect sandwich. I tried The Super, it had salami, mortadella, ham and fresh mozzarella on sourdough. I added the giardiniera spread for an up charge. It was delicious! I had the Brazilian Chicken Stew on the side and it was amazing! The stew was my favorite part of the meal! My husband tried the Revelo and liked it. He had the Broad Ripple Chip Company Chips on the side. They were tasty, but expensive for a small amount. Parking was pretty easy, we got a spot right in front of the restaurant. This sandwich joint is an Indianapolis gem. Subito is understated, no frills, no nonsense -- exactly what you want in a takeout lunch spot. And best of all: They serve chicken velvet soup here, the Indianapolis-famous creamy soup that originated at the L.S. Ayers Tea Room. But be advised: chicken velvet is not a staple on their menu, and they only serve it on certain days. However, they have a monthly menu (which they'll kindly give you a paper copy of if you ask for it), that lists which soups they're serving on which days. They also sell soups by the quart, so when chicken velvet soup is there, I highly recommend stocking up! Unfortunately, on the day that I visited, chicken velvet wasn't there, so I got a small Caesar salad and the torta (shredded pork, refried beans, creama, cilantro, lettuce and red onion), which is served warm and toasted. Wow, that was a great choice. I still think about that sandwich. I think I'll get that again when I go back, but there are also so many other great-sounding sandwiches on their menu, so ... maybe I'll just have to get more than one. My husband ordered the Cuban sandwich, and he said it was an excellent Cuban sandwich. My children, God love them, don't like to venture too far away from what they know, so they got a grilled cheese sandwich to split. The grilled cheese was only a buck and some change! Whatta deal. If you're looking for a good,cheap, comforting meal, check out the grilled cheese here. Parking is abysmal around Subito, because Subito is located in downtown Indy, on a one-way street, next to an alley. Luckily, I had someone else in the car with me and they just dropped me off and circled while I picked up the order. Otherwise, I'm not sure where I would have parked. There are a couple of spaces on the street, so maybe you'll get lucky. Oh, and as of right now, you cannot eat inside Subito, and they do not have outdoor seating. Buonissimo! Husband and I were looking for a place to get a sandwich, with easy access off of I-70, on our road trip to St. Louis. Yelp directed us to a gem in downtown Indianapolis : Subito, an Italian-style deli. My Caprese panino was delicious.. just the right amount of mozzarella, tomato and pesto, grilled to perfection. Ah, good to eat here again! It's been a while since I last ordered from Subito, back when I worked across the street. Now I'm at a new workplace downtown a short walk away. Everything ordered is just as delicious as my previous visits! Today I went with a Walla (ham on Swiss), an old favorite that's made to perfection! On the side I had mac & cheese, made nice n' creamy without being overly rich as some places make it, and a light hit of black pepper. Despite ordering and coming in during a busy lunch rush, my meal was ready within 10 minutes. The staff were peppy and courteous to all customers today as well. One of my new (to me) favorite places. Until Subito, I was stuck wishing Indy had a place that served EXCELLENT soup. Come to find out, they've been doing their thing for a while, just relatively new to this location on Delaware. After my first visit, I was hooked and have been back a few times. I prefer ordering online so I'm thrilled they offer that, plus it eliminates the need to stand in line...yay!! Each soup I've tried has been delicious so far. Their cookies are also a must have. With a selection of about 10 sandwiches, 4 salads, and a soup of the day, this small but well-organized takeaway business can satisfy your lunch cravings very quickly. Even though the service is fast, expect both a pleasant conversation and higher level of food preparation. Slow roasted brisket and pork, seasonal vegetable ingredients, homemade cookies, Subito is producing quality goods. I ordered the Torta, a braised pork sandwich, panini-pressed and bursting with flavor. The sandwiches come with macaroni salad, which I appreciate but would prefer a different choice for a side. Their staff are friendly and work efficiently, which is important as they are often packed. I've purchased individual lunch, gift certificates for colleagues, and have used them for catering a lunch for a small work event. Glad they're a part of downtown Indy. The lobster bisque I had the day before my meal pictured, yes, I ate here two days in a row, was sooooo good I wanted to take a bath in it. I paired the rich lobster bisque with the turkey wrap for a hearty lunch. My lunch pictured featured the broccoli cheddar soup and the vegetarian panini which warmed me right up! I always tell people that Subito has not only the best sandwiches in Indy, but the best food. Everything is made from scratch and you can tell. Their sandwiches are melty, flavorful works of art, their pasta salad is better than your mom's, and their cookies are to die for. I guess the only negative thing about the place is that you can't sit inside to eat, but it's right across from the City Market, so it's not a big deal to get your sando and eat it at a table across the way. read more

Stopped at the amp food hall as I have Celiac need to be a little choosier than most, and my partner can eat anything. I was walking around, trying to decide what to eat when the friendly staff engaged me in conversation and offered to let me taste the soup. I had a sample of the Greek lemon chicken rice and was sold. It was so comforting on a cold day, and the seasoning was spot on Gentleman that helped me was super friendly. They do have gluten-free bread that they get from a local company named native. But all of the other bread products they say they bake house. I will be going back. They have their menu marked for gluten-free, dairy, free, vegan, vegetarian, and pescatarian. Great food, great people, great service. Can't be beat. read more

This is a hidden gem in Indianapolis! I wish I had discovered this place sooner before I move away. My friend and I came for lunch. There isn't indoor seating, but we didn't mind at all as it's a order and go kind of place. The menu is expansive, and everything sounded so good. Staff is also lovely, kind, and funny! My friend and I ordered the turkey pesto sandwich adding bacon, and she ordered a Caesar salad as well. The sandwiches are STACKED with ingredients, and we could really taste the quality of each one. It was the perfect size for lunch, and we both were very satisfied. My friend also enjoyed her Caesar salad. However, we were both slightly disappointed in the amount of pesto on the sandwich itself. It's called the turkey pesto on their menu, but we didn't taste the pesto at all. For this reason, we both thought the sandwiches were dry, and we were hoping for that nice, green layer of pesto on the sandwich. But as you can see in my pictures, there is hardly any pesto. :( I also ordered the poeta with bacon for my boyfriend. He didn't take a picture of it, but he did text me in all caps "THIS SANDWICH IS SO GOOODDD" immediately after, so I really want to try this one. Wow! Just wow! For the taste of these sandwiches! My friend recommended it and we did take out from this place and as I was late the sandwich and soup were a little cold but it was still unbelievably tasty I had the revalo which has these nice chunks of meat that is tender and layers of An amazing sauce that keeps making me eat more (even when I was feeling full) with little bits of chopped jalapeños saying hello. This served in a beautifully buttered bread that was then panini pressed - one of the best sandwiches I've ever had for sure! The soup I got was a veggie soup that my friend recommended and even for a meat lover like me it was good! They have a calendar of different soups on their menu and I'm excited to try more. I came here with a large group of students in early May, and even though it was busy, one of the managers (maybe owner?) was patient and funny and got us all squared away. The student who selected the place didn't realize it was carry out only, but we just walked around and had a picnic by the monument. Every single person in our group of 11 loved their food! Back for the Olympic swim trials with my son, I made sure we got sandwiches here while in town. I got the tuna melt with pickles (again) and loved it as much as the first time. My son got the poeta and was also very satisfied. They're friendly, efficient, and delicious. What more could you want? We ate too fast for pictures, unfortunately. Oh! Get the cookies! I decided to escape the convention center area to find a local lunch. Yelp led me to Subito, and for that I thank it. Today's soup was the loaded baked potato, which comes with cheddar cheese, chives, bacon, and sour cream on top. Fantastic! It also comes with a fresh baked roll. I wish I had bought a second or even third - it's that good. This place is amazing! I wish I could bring it home with me. I'm too full to try the oatmeal choc chip cookies right now...or am I? This place was tricky to find & sadly I never found it but they were kind enough to bring my food to my car which wasn't parked to far from them I guess. Sorry I digress I ordered the TBOB (something like that) Sadly I no longer see it on the menu. I guess it switches up monthly, idk. He came to the car with a little bag. I was disappointed appointed at 1st but the bag was a lil heavy. I looked inside the bag & the sandwich appeared to be little. Once I opened the wrapper the sandwich was a decent size. This has quickly become my personal crown jewel of the city- even better that it's located in the direct heart of the city! Subito consistently offers excellent food choices in three broad categories: Soups (naturally), Salads, and Sandwiches! I tend to be picky, but I genuinely enjoy a wide selection of their menu. It helps that the personnel inside are always so friendly and helpful even when they're SWAMPED! Seriously, the collective years of restaurant experience in there are palpable and I love them even more for it. The soup menu rotates by the day but you can always check their monthly menu to hone in on a day or soup of your liking.
