I was the third person in line when Bennet, the employee working, greeted me as I walked up. While I waited my turn, I observed how well he interacted with each customer and balanced the orders to keep the line moving. I was really impressed by how well he was not only able to multi-task as the only person on duty right as the lunch rush was starting, but also his ability to engage with each customer in a very personal and sincere manner. Subway does deceptive advertising. The roast beef sandwich I ordered was nothing like the promotional photo on the wall. I gently asked the employee about the amount of roast beef and she said they give 2.5 oz for a 6" sandwich, and she agreed that it wasn't at all like the picture. The employee was friendly. I took photographs of my sandwich as well as the picture on the wall and am tempted to send it in to Consumer Report ... they occasionally point out businesses who do serious false advertising, and Subway certainly seems to make the grade. read more

I ordered my favorite tuna on wheat like I do at Subway shops around the world, but this was the first time I was disappointed. Subway usually bakes their bread fresh daily, but I highly doubt that was the case with mine. It was hard, crusty and flavorless, and no, I didn't get it toasted. The poor quality was most likely due to it being left out for a week. I never realized that an entire sandwich could be ruined by one simple ingredient. On a positive note, the establishment's interior dining was probably the finest I have ever experienced for any fast food joint. It actually had leather club chairs huddled around a fireplace and a flat screen television showing the latest golf game. I chose to sit at the long pub table along the picture window so I could watch the foot traffic walk by. The interior, although pleasant, couldn't win me over. Sometimes I stop at this Subway to grab lunch on the way to work, one thing I notice is that they have increased their prices by about 10%. I've heard that some private owners can set their own prices so I'm not surprised the the subway on Bainbridge Island would be more expensive, especially in this upper middle class neighborhood. Today I ordered my favorite cold cut combo and noticed immediately that the meat was discolored like sometimes you might see at a grocery store when the meat is starting to turn. When I asked her about it, she said it was just the way the meat was rolled up In their individual paper and that it was perfectly ok. I told her I trusted her but later wished that I had ordered a different sandwich. I would never have bought that package of meat at a grocery store and certainly would not want to pay a little more for a sandwich wich the meat is starting to turn. To the owner of this establishment- you should consider having fresh ingredients for your customers, especially if you're going to charge more than the rest of the franchise. read more

Today was the worst, I placed a order at 12:45 and my order was not done till 2:30 , there was only one person working at lunch rush, and they ran out of what we ordered. We are never going back to this Location. The one person didn't even give me a refund for the order. read more

I don't like to give 1 star but the service there is horrible they have 2 speeds slow and stop I forgot to say they had no lettuce at 12:30 on a Thursday they told me with a smile on their face. They have one lady that works there that is fabulous!!! A +++ I know she is fast and efficient ! What I expect when I go to subway. I wish I knew her name but she has tattoos on her hands and would like to see more employees like her working there. I know it's island living on Bainbridge but this is ridiculous. Most Subway's do a fairly decent job at keeping a clean establishment, and this includes some in some very sketchy locations. This one is in a great location but is extremely filthy inside. The manager is clearly not engaged. I observed numerous fruit flies, and other flies. The area around the soda fountain was dirty with visible mold and surfaces that haven't been wiped down in months. Probably won't go back here unless there is a change in management or complete turn around in cleanliness. read more

After years of being off this establishment due to a very bad experience at their old location on Winslow way. I found out that they had a new owner and manager . I was told that they really got it together. So, i took a chance. I had an excellent experience. The sandwich was good, the atmosphere and perhaps even the attitude of the employees has changed. What really impressed me. After leaving a comment on the Subway websites feedback form .The owner of the franchise called me! That's the big reason why I am giving this place five out of five. . First, they were very slow and it took forever to get through the two people before me and get my order. I ordered two turkey breast sandwich meals. The charge was $16 and some change. When we pulled out or sandwiches we ripped off half of the bread because it was stale, and the sandwiches were just poorly put together and lack luster. So we weren't happy with the quality of the food or the service. Fast forward to the next morning. I am looking at my bank account and the charge for Subway is $25.57!!! Remember earlier when I said it was $16 and some change?! Well when she asked if I needed a receipt I said no (as I always do everywhere). So I am now out the money they over charged, and don't have a receipt to prove it. I honestly think the girl is skimming off the top on people who don't ask for the receipt. I arrived at Subway at 9:30 a.m. Friday morning... and politely ordered a 6-inch tuna. As I was looking through the glass at the tuna it looked very oxidized and there was maybe a couple Scoops left on the bottom. I asked the gal if they had some fresh tuna, the gal said no, what-you-see-is-what-you-get. I also noticed the spinach looked wilted. The gal that helped seemed very indifferent... not really concerned at all. My family and myself will never go to this subway again as the quality of their food has decreased as well as their service. The Friday before I was at the same subway later in the morning and the person who helped me was obsessed with their cell phone before I finally got service. Done. read more

Subway is disgusting. The "fresh" stuff they have out they never keep covered with the glass doors when not being used. Just all sits in the open air constantly. Can take awhile to order. Last time I was there to get sandwich for sister they were out of Italian bread, tuna and turkey... A small piece of plastic was found in my son's sandwich. I returned the 6" sandwich, minus the two small bites from it. They looked around, behind the counter on the employee only side and found the original source. A piece of tape holding directions to employees posted above the food. Ok... So let me first start off by saying the sandwich was good and the facility was clean ... That's the only reason I gave this location 2 stars. I arrived at this location at 7:45pm on a Wednesday night to find all the chairs set atop the tables as if they were closing up. (I quickly checked the door to find out they don't close until midnight) nonetheless I waited about 2 minutes at the desk to ask the young lady if they were closing. She replied "no what would you like?" In the driest most "I hate my job" voice I've ever heard. I went ahead and ordered, still struggling to communicate with the young lady as most of what she asked was under her breath and had a hint of annoyance behind it (ok... A little more than a "hint")... After my food was made, I checked out with a gentleman, the only exchange was my total. I took my food and looked around at all the stacked chairs and just took my food out to my truck parked right in front of the store and ate it there. Overall poor service and poor atmosphere for only 7:45 in the evening. I will say that my bread was fresher than other subways I have eaten at and the sandwich was made well ... Just wish I could have sat down and eaten my food like a civil human being and not uncomfortably in my vehicle. read more

This review has been a long time coming. Everytime we walk in there they are short staffed and only one person is helping prepare the food. Tonight we walked in and I specifically said that certain sandwiches were going to be the same and when I asked for bacon on the two chicken teriyakis the guy asked me if I only wanted it on one. When we started to order they told us all they had left was wheat and white. After just now seeing a commercial for subway where they say "Baked fresh EVERYDAY" yeah not for this location and not today. Finally as we started heading out there was lettuce or some sort of stuff on the seats in the lobby the floors were disgusting. Even the fountain drinks didnt taste right. This place doesnt even deserve a two star but Ill give them the benefit of the doubt that the food is decent but I've had better. I'm too hungry to care whether mine is on italian herbs and cheese or wheat. My chicken teriyaki doesnt really taste the same without it but it will do. read more
