The truth of it is that it's a Subway sandwich shop. There really isn't a whole lot that makes it stand out one way or another. If you like the brand you'll enjoy this location. If you don't like Subway, then you might want to mosey along to somewhere else. If I had once gripe it'd be that the only $5 foot long they had was the veggie. Ugh, so underwhelming. But I'm not going to dock them excessively for it. It's a good, solid representation of the chain.

I don't say this lightly: this might be **the best Philly cheesesteak I've ever had in my life**…read more From the moment it came out, you could smell the sizzling steak and melted cheese before even taking the first bite. The bread was perfectly toasted on the outside but still soft and pillowy inside, holding everything together without falling apart. The steak was juicy, tender, and packed with flavor, chopped just right so every bite had the perfect balance of meat, cheese, and bread. And the cheese... perfectly melted into the steak so it coated every bite instead of just sitting on top. That first bite was one of those moments where you pause for a second because it's just *that good*. By the halfway point I was already thinking about when I could come back for another one. I love "Mom" who is always friendly and fun to talk to while waiting. Please keep in mind each sandwich is made to order so please anticipate a little wait BUT WORTH EVERY minute of it. If you're a Philly cheesesteak fan, this place is absolutely worth the trip. Bold statement, but this sandwich sets the bar.

Of course, he went with the classic cheese steak to see what their original was like before delving into the other specialty ones they offer. I ordered the Dirty Hippie, which has no meat--double portions of both mushrooms and grilled onions, jalapenos, cheddar cheese and ranch on a fresh baked roll. For my sweet tooth, I also got a "Pop's brownie." The Dirty Hippie to me tasted pretty much like a cheese steak, but with no meat. So, they did do a good job of mimicking a real cheese steak. It was super hot, cheese was melted, and definitely noticed the double portion of veggies. The grilled onions had a good taste, however, they were really long and stringy, which reminded me of string spaghetti lol. Sandwich can get a little messy, prepare yourself with some napkins, and don't let it sit or it'll get soggy from the juices. My roommate thought his cheese steak was average, not bad but not the best he's ever had either. Pop's brownie was chocolatey and moist and a great way to end a flavorful lunch. The shack is located in a convenient spot and the lot has ample parking. Service was great. The woman helping us was friendly and even gave me a frequent buyer punch card since I told her it was my first time there. Fyi, Monday's are double punch days! I'm a cash-type of person anyway, but bring cash if you don't want to be charged $1 to use your card.

I absolutely loved the atmosphere of this shop. It has a very warm and welcoming feel, with tall ceilings that make the space feel open and airy. When I first arrived it was quite busy, filled with families laughing and enjoying their time together, which created a lively and friendly environment. As someone who is more introverted, the crowd was a bit overwhelming at first, but it eventually cleared out and became a very comfortable place to relax. The staff were also incredibly kind. Since I had never tried a macaron before, I ordered a rose macaron to taste, and it was absolutely delicious. They also gave me a complimentary sample of their coffee, which was excellent. It was the house blend. And the bags they sell are very reasonably priced. The café is very well priced, with drinks ranging the $5-8 mark, and the foods ranging $3-8- and the quality of the food and drinks are quite rich in taste! Overall, it was a wonderful experience, and I will definitely be coming back.

It was around lunch time and I prepared myself for this place to be busy and I'm glad I did. When I arrived, there was a long line of people waiting to order, almost all the tables inside were taken, and there were several people standing around waiting for their order. The ambience was definitely hustle and bustle and probably louder than usual. This didn't deter me as I got in line and prepared to put on my "patience" hat lol. While standing in line, I had plenty of time to look at the vast menu, which everything sounded great. However, I'm still not eating meat and I went with "The Vegg." It consisted of: fresh avocado, sunflower seeds, lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, onions, cucumbers and sprouts with your choice of cheese and dressings (taken from the menu description). I chose to have it on sourdough bread, with provolone cheese, and add cranberry sauce. I made my meal a combo and added a fountain drink and a side. As for my side, I went with Greek pasta salad. I saw a handful of dessert options that they make in-house and I couldn't take my eyes off this huge rice krispie treat. So I got that and a couple of big chocolate chip cookies. It took quite some time for the order to come out, which again I knew and didn't mind. People watching was interesting. My food was well worth the wait. The sandwich was sooo fresh, crisp, and very scrumptious. I got a half and it was huge. The bread also baked in-house was delicious and wasn't very sour. So if you like a lite sourdough then try this one. The veggies were plentiful, juicy, and crunchy and loved the cranberry sauce addition. I would get this sandwich over and over if the quality and taste is consistent every time. The Greek pasta salad was that of what you expect a traditional Greek pasta salad would have in it. It was a decent sized portion and had good seasoning. I'm looking forward to coming back for sure. Now let's talk about the rice krispie. It was so big, as big as my hand (see pic for reference lol). This rice krispie became an instant fav. It was soft and not overly sugary or saturated in butter. The best part I enjoyed was that they use whole mini marshmallows (see pic). The chocolate chip cookie was great with a good crisp outside and a soft but not undercooked inside. I'm looking forward to coming back to repeat this same exact meal--that's how much I enjoyed it. Despite it being lunch rush hour, every employee was working diligently and each one I encountered was smiling and nice. I also saw some cupcakes in another case that looked awesome and will try one of two of those next time.

They said that the bread would be toasted, but really it was just warm, not toasted. The tuna was a little on the sweet side for me, and I'm just not a fan of sweet-savory food. For instance, I hate pineapple on pizza, despite liking pineapple by itself. I think their tuna has sweet pickles in it. I'd like to try another meat, because even after all my complaints, they managed to make it tasty enough. So, it's worth giving a shot.

Then a new owner came in. She told us that everything would be great. We were excited. Once there, felt sort of unwelcome but kept going anyway. We all sat at this little copper table with chairs and they brought us food and coffee. It was the norm and we were happy to have a circle table where we could all chat. We had a new lady join that week and she was told by the new owner that she doesn't want us at that table and to pass it on. It was to be for wine drinkers only. Well, why serve us there the whole time only to tell one person, not even the organizer about it. Owner sent a man over to us and we talked to him about it and we all brought up ideas and talked back and forth and thought it was ok at the end. The following week, a new gal came and didn't feel well. She asked the owner to tell the group she had come and that she wasn't feeling well. The owner asked who the group was and she started badmouthing us to the new girl! Another woman showed up and the new gal told her what happened and they both left. The group now meets elsewhere, but it is a shame that you treated a local group after the owner moves here from Spokane and wants to fit in, like garbage after meeting there for YEARS! Not only that, this establishment now closes early and doesn't stay open for farmers markets or anything local going on. It really is a sad deal that someone can come in and ruin a business that someone else worked so hard to build.

One of our local friends picked us up from the airport and immediately took us there, and now I totally understand why. We tried three pizzas -- the cheese, the bumblebee, and the sausage & mushroom -- and every single one was incredible. The kale Caesar was honestly one of the best salads I've had in a long time. There were four of us eating, and we still walked away with leftovers. But the real star? The sourdough crust. I will genuinely be dreaming about that crust when I'm back home in California. Perfectly chewy, flavorful, and unlike any pizza crust I've had before. If you come to Coeur d'Alene, this spot is an absolute must-try.
