I really, really hate giving negative reviews, but this place was just terrible. DO NOT GO HERE! When we arrived it was a little after 8 and the place closed at 9. I started to pick out a spot to sit while hubby started figuring out what to order, but there was an entire section roped off and it wasn't a very big dining area (or store) to start with. So I picked a spot where we could sit (no booths) and went up to help hubby order. The worker (who I later realized was the only one in the store at that time) asked whether we planned on getting our food to go or eating in, and when we said the latter he said we only had a half hour to eat before he would have to close. While I was placing my order the worker yelled at me for leaning on the glass food overlay. I didn't even realize I had done it and it had barely moved, but I apologized profusely. He continued to be gruff, rude and just generally unhappy with both of us and another family (German, I believe) who had stopped in about the same time. He didn't seem to want to take any time to explain the bread options, topping options, cheese options, etc., put the basic ingredients on the sandwich that the menu board said it came with, ring up drinks, anything. I approached him later after the other family had left and we were done eating and said I was sorry to hear that he was so unhappy with his job. He didn't seem to get what I was saying. He said it's hard when you're the only person on the job shift and you have to close up. I said I certainly understood. But I don't think he realized how much of a huge jerk he was being to everyone in the store, and so unnecessarily. OK, so maybe your job sucks. Maybe you do a lot of menial, repetitive, hard physical labor and you don't get paid that great. But also excuse us for trying to eat something halfway healthy for a meal while on vacation. I put in a Door Dash order. It was taking so long that I was going to cancel it and they said l would only get 5.73 back if I did so. My order was for 22.73. After waiting about another 15 minutes the Dasher finally brought my order. I ordered a Philly steak and cheese. It was ice cold. I put that in the MW to heat it up. The other thing that was annoying was that if you order a combo meal they charge you and extra 59 cents if you want Pop. I just ordered a Poppi because that didn't have an extra charge. This is the worst service I have ever experienced. The waitress Corey was extremely impatient. Our sandwiches were already prepared and packaged, but we were kept waiting and not allowed to check out, as she was busy with other customers' orders. When I asked if we could pay, she finally came over with a frown and told us to "be patient." I told her we had already waited for more than 10 minutes, but she actually took our sandwiches away, asked another male waiter to handle our checkout, and walked off straight away. Went in at 8:30 on a Tuesday night in Kanab. We saw the store closed at 9. The man at the counter asked my daughter and I what we wanted. We asked him to give us a second and he proceeded to tell us he already put the food away and had to do dishes. So I told him we had 2 more coming in if he wanted to finish some things while we decided and the other 2 come in. He proceeded to tell us he had to mop and put the rest of the food away, blah blah blah. I asked if they close at 9 and he said yes. I'm visiting Utah to show my kids Zion and Bryce Canyon. We went into the Subway in Kanab Utah. I requested a sandwich for my autistic son which consisted of White bread and pepperoni, I have never had an issue at any other Subway I have gone too. The lady at the counter which was the manager said she couldn't make it and when I asked why she said she can't make any specialty sandwich. This was very unfortunate because it's the only thing my son will eat, I explained that to her and told her she can charge me whatever for it. A no star review at best! I came to this location on Monday July 3, 2023. The front entrance was littered with trash, the front door was filthy. I walked into a line and immediately overheard a staff member being very rude to a customer, who himself became upset. The next gentleman in the line obviously was hard of hearing, yet instead of being more accommodating the girl behind the counter became even more rude to him, and making it obvious how upset she was to repeat herself. I was shocked with how long it took to get orders filled. There seemed to be an issue with the juggling of orders and they were making sooo many sandwiches but also not doing them in a particular order. Subway was one of my first jobs in high school so I have to say I kinda know how long it takes to make these sandwiches. I got a 6" spicy sub and it took 10 minutes to make. The entire process took over 30 minutes When I arrived and 3 groups were ahead of me. One woman and her kids and 2 different couples. No one was social distancing 6' but almost everyone had a mask on. I didn't feel safe so I stood outside until the groups made space. Then a large tour group shows up in a grey truck and they line up with NO distancing and some with no masks. When I got in the allllllll came in right behind me with no feet between them. I felt bad for the team working there as they seemed unorganized and confused and lacking customer service. I'd have apologized and thanked all in line for waiting and letting them know there would be a wait due to a large order or whatever was holding them up. If I was an owner I'd spend time with my team to see how they're feeling during a slammed period. They need help and they need training. There is a conveyor belt that should be in place and it felt more like a piñata craft table. My sandwich was like any other subway sandwich and the place was clean. The worst service I have seen in my life. Took me 25 minutes to get 3 foot longs made. There was only one girl in there working her butt off and the 4 other people were literally standing around doing nothing. I watched the guy in charge of the register pretend to be busy by counting pennies for 10 minutes straight while there was a line of 6 people still waiting to order. We received an email confirmation.My husband left to pick it up and was told they didn't receive our order. Just before 3 we received an email saying our order was cancelled. The dude (1) should not have been working in the first place; but if he absolutely had to be there for whatever reason, then he (2) should have at least worn a mask (I'm not in favor of mask mandates of any kind, but when you're visibly sick and making food, it's an obvious way to improve food safety). We arrived at noon on a Tuesday, greeted by a line out the door. Immediately we could tell that the staff was stressed, there were only two people working in the entire establishment. Had a very bad experience with this restaurant. 1) steak & cheese sandwich was splatted with chipotle dressing, staff claimed it came with it. (She never asked me, and I don't put dressing on my sandwich) 2) no olive, pepper and tomatoes was in my 2 orders even though I asked for it. 3) the BOGO footlong coupon was not honored... staff offered $5 off instead but never given when I used the phone App to pay. 4) I have 2 giftcards stored in my subway App but she kept saying I don't hv enough money. 5) she said I can't use my free chips rewards. She's unfriendly, rude and abrupt, telling me there's a long line of customers waiting... and worst of all, she slammed the counter after I paid, to show her dissatisfaction to the next customers (i think she commented on me to the next customer in line too) which is totally unprofessional. You will never find a more incompetent crew in the entire subway family! I would not be surprised to learn that it was their first day, and they had only been on the job 11 seconds. My wife ordered a salad, which threw the two workers into nebulous chaos. They had no clue how to make or prepare the sandwiches. When they asked me what type of bread I wanted, I responded. She then asked me, "Are you talking to me?" It took them 25 minutes to make 3 simple sandwiches and a salad. They asked us to pull up and we waited for 20 minutes to get our sandwiches made. While we were sitting in front of the store, we noticed there were three people sitting inside eating sandwiches. We visited Subway on our visit to Zion. The staff was friendly, welcoming and professional Our sandwiches were very fresh and tasty.

Kanab is just a little town with not much going on and not much going for it. It does bring in lots of tourists though that are making their way through the National Parks and Monuments in southern Utah, Lake Powell and the Grand Canyon in Arizona. Since there are not a whole lot of restaurants to eat at in Kanab, people may want to be looking for something familiar. Case in point, Subway. Although it was tourist season when I was going through this particular Subway was backed with a line nearly out the door. Since I had my dog with me; I decided to stay outside with her while my partner went in to order and have out sandwiches made. This wait took 20 minutes just to get a freakin' Subway sandwich. The reason for this could be just one or a combination of all of these, they being: Subway cannot handle a rush at all due to the way they have their setup at making sandwiches This particular location either had staff that could not reduce the line quickly due to inexperience(incompetence too?) or lack of manpower. This was not the only Subway that had a line like this in the towns in Southern Utah. So I am leaning towards problems with the set up or inexperience at dealing with rushes. Went to this subway twice in one week on a trip to Powell. 1st time took forever, way understaffed. The food was good as usual and I have no complaints about that. The second time they were so slow one employee was hanging out with friends at their tables. The food was good and no complaints there either. Both times we went, one being busy and the other being really slow. The floor, chairs and tables were unbelievably dirty. We had to wipe our own chairs a table both times. Plus they rang us up twice for some reason instead of combining our order. the girl proofing the bread could've stopped to help the other two but then I'd have to compare them to the three stooges and not Zootopia.
