Oh my goodness, I have been trying to eat here (again) for literal years. Kanab being touristy and then through the pandemic, I could never seem to catch it open, but today I did!!! AND they STILL had the peekaboo pear pizza and it's exactly how I remember it!!! Amazing cheeses and fresh pear and arugula. YUMM. I ordered my pizza extra well done (ALWAYS the way to go with a wood fired pizza) and Tay, the server was so sweet and brought it out so quickly! The outdoor seating is also nicely covered which I perfect with the spontaneous spring weather. It was a great visit. They also have several vegan and gluten fire options for a pizza place which is impressive to me, including their desserts!

Be aware! It is vegetarian, vegan friendly restaurant. So if you are looking for a steak- it is not here. Second time at this awesome little restaurant. Only words of praise! First time was 6 years ago. Our first trip to Kanab. I have to say- service, food didn't downgrade. Only got better. Traveling with my vegetarian husband can created challenges. So this place is a savior for a hungry vegetarian/vegan tourist. We had nice table in the outside patio, it was very warm inside, despite being chilly outside. Heaters were on and it was so nice and cozy. Food was tasty and was brought very quick. All the servers were very very nice. Next trip to Kanab- we know where to go again!

Visiting area to drop off Woody our Old English Sheepdog foster to his new furr-ever home, and his new parents treated us here foe dinner. We had the Angel Landing pizza which we just loved especially since it was perfectly wood fired. The side salad we had with the house dressing was also great. We ate outside which was pleasant and the service was great. Overall, we had a wonderful experience.

It's been almost a decade since I last attempted to eat here, and that was such an awful experience that it's taken me this long to consider going back. I'm SO GLAD I did! Today I rolled into town hot and sweaty, post hike, needing a light, late lunch. I didn't want to sit down in a restaurant, and I needed something dairy free. I know it's obnoxious, but I thought I'd call and see if Peekaboo might still have their kitchen open ten minutes before they closed. They were SO nice and said they'd love to make me a pizza! I had their wood fired crust with pesto, vegan moz (they have regular cheese too), marinated artichoke hearts, Kalamata olives, and sun dried tomatoes. I picked it up to go so I wouldn't occupy a table past their closing time and tipped well. I'm sitting at the park to write this, enjoying a delicious pizza and happy with the outstanding service I received. Yay, another place I can frequent and recommend to others! (I also got a piece of vegan cheesecake with mixed berry compote for my teen, and it looks amazing!)

Wanted to like this place more. To start with, there were quite a few flies in the restaurant which was a little annoying Had 2 pizzas, the house salad, and a vegan cheesecake. The pizzas were the Hot Mess and the Angel's Landing. I also had a cocktail, the Honey Bee. My boyfriend enjoyed his pizza, the hot mess, and my pizza was good, it was a white pie as they call it, the Angels Landing, there was no tomato on it, and whilst I liked the flavor, I found the crust a little bit too hard. The house salad was fine, although there was way too much grated carrot on it. I had to remove half of it. The vegan cheesecake was not good. I myself make vegan cheesecake, and the problem with this one was the texture was just not right. It literally collapsed in your mouth, the mouth feel was very watery and it wasn't how a cheesecake should be. It was very plain, and they did ask if we wanted it served with some mixed berries, which we said yes to, but we were then charged for a minuscule portion. However, It was the saving grace really, because the flavor of the berries helped to mask the rather unusual flavor and texture of the cheesecake itself. I can't think that anyone who would've tasted the cheesecake would think that it was good. Something was just off with it, especially the texture. My cocktail was OK, but not great. They were called craft cocktails so I guess I expected a little more. Overall, it wasn't a bad meal, but I would not go back there. The bill was $79. The service was good.

We are vegetarians staying in Kanab as a home base for our day trips to Zion and Bryce. The town is pretty small so there aren't a lot of choices. We are amazed that this is a fully vegetarian place. They use a variety of ingredients including Beyond and Impossible protein so you still feel satiated and are getting essential nutrients. We liked our food and drinks so much tonight that we plan to come back the other nights we are here to try their other menu items! The service is so friendly and lightning fast. We initially waited in our car for one hour to eat on the patio because we had our small dog with us. However by the time the patio had space, the patio ended up getting rained out so they allowed us to eat inside with our small dog in her carrier. The inside is very cozy and has lovely professional photos of famous canyons. I would definitely recommend eating here and can't wait to try more menu items!

My friends and I came here after a long day exploring the desert. The things we would recommend include the sweet potato fries, beer, and margarita pizza. The mushroom pizza was not our favorite thing and we don't recommend. The Mac and cheese was okay, it tasted a bit like mac and cheese with taco seasoning. The service was very slow, we had to ask multiple times for water and to check on our beer order after about 20 min. We were a little surprised to learn this was a completely vegetarian/vegan restaurant and some members of our group had expected some meat options/substitutions but they were still able to find something to eat. The atmosphere felt okay, they have a nice outdoor space. It was a little challenging to find the door at first since the restaurant is connected to a hotel. Our waitress Tay was nice, everything was just very slow.

I really love the food here but the parking can fill up quickly and the wait can be long. To go food sometimes is over an hour wait (more than just waiting to be seated and ordering) which is why I can't give this a perfect rating. The outdoor seating is nice and the menu has lots of great choices for vegetarians. I always get the Duke with impossible burger or beyond burger and sidewinder fries. The price isn't bad and the food really tastes great. Most of the time the service is good but sometimes they just ignore you which makes me kind of sad because I live in the next town over and spend a lot of time in Kanab and it makes me feel like the tourists are the only valuable customers.

Only in Kanab is a friendly little food truck in the SAMCO/Silver Eagle gas station parking lot…read more When we arrived around 6PM for a Sunday dinner, the little parking area right next to the truck was full of customers waiting to pick up their burgers, but there wasn't a line to order. Per the cashier, Zuzu, there would be an 18 minute wait for our food. She was on the dot correct, and 18 minutes later, we were biting in: Kanab Burger + Fries ($19) - Let's start with the patty. It's really good quality, about half an inch thick after cooking, still with a good portion of pink at medium-well doneness, resulting in a burger with plenty of moisture remaining inside. The patty, slightly smaller than the size of the bun, is charred well, but still tender and extremely beefy inside. The burger is slathered with a ton of chimichurri aioli, creamy, bright and herbaceous along with two slices of melted Muenster. It's so creamy that some starts dripping out as soon as the burger is lifted up. To add even more fat (which I honestly don't think is required), there are plenty of small avocado slices, followed by a single thin slice of tomato, which I found to be too small for the burger. There's then plenty of arugula, peppery and bitter to finish. It leads to a pretty well balanced burger, all on the bun emblazoned with the Only in Kanab logo. The bun compresses well to really cradle the ingredients. We ordered this with fries, which are pretty average in size and shape. Some are a bit over fried, but most are okay and still fluffy inside. They dust it with a liberal amount of seasoning salt, so it's quite salty. Shadow of the Dragon Burger ($14) - The burger patty is the same as above, but the other ingredients are mostly different. There's a garlicky and tangy sambal giving just a hint of heat. There's crunchy fried red bell pepper bits embedded in the hot sauce and then another creamy, slightly sweet sauce spread on the buns. It's overall not very spicy at all, and very messy to eat since things spill out easily. I think both burgers are a bit too abundant with the ingredients, but I don't think either were overloaded either. Overall these were very good burgers and a surprising find for such a small town where I didn't expect to find great food at all.

A delightful encounter in Kanab, the small town along the way on our road trip to Salt Lake City. A…read morewonderful meal. Pistachio Chicken: The chicken breast was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside, with a thin, crispy crust that was especially impressive. The sauce blended the mild aroma of Poblano chili, the creamy richness of butter, and the unique fragrance of herbs. Most precious was the pistachio aroma, both vibrant and subtle, without overpowering or masking the other flavors, creating a delicate balance. Even the saltiness was just right, subtle and delicate. The surface was garnished with pico de gallo, fresh, sweet, tangy, and spicy, balancing the potential heaviness of the sauce. The asparaguses were also very fresh, with a natural fragrance, but perhaps a little too mild with the sauce. Kanab Cowboy Ribs: The pork ribs were slow-cooked and roasted until they were so tender that they easily fell off the bone, offering no resistance when cutting into them. The homemade barbecue sauce coated it thickly, rich and sweet, with an authentic American barbecue flavor. It might be a bit too sweet for most Chinese palates, but I thought it was quite good. The agave mustard vinaigrette seemed more decorative; I nearly couldn't really taste it. Lemon Sorbet: Homemade sorbet, offering the most soulful finish. It was breathtakingly beautiful at first glance; the simple white porcelain plate and glass were limpid and elegant, perfectly matching the sorbet's style. Unlike typical sorbets that emphasize extreme acidity, this restaurant took a different approach, with a gentle, even subtle, acidity that brings out the natural, lively fragrance of lemon, like Lolita's touch through pale silk. The texture was also delicate and smooth, without any ice crystals. Everyone was captivated; some even ordered an extra to take away. The restaurant claims that ingredients come from its organic garden. This might be a pointless gimmick, but the cooking and presentation of the dishes conveyed a consistent level of refinement and care, making it all the more valuable.

I enjoyed the smoked chicken, especially. The brisket was very tender. Service was kind and quick. No complaints. One odd thing is that me and another guest at the table both ordered an extra side of brisket to go along with our meals and they served it on the same platter. When it was about half gone and I had asked for my side, they said they put both portions on the same dish and that is just weird and made it awkward. However, they did bring me an extra little cup of brisket. Still odd that they would do that. The atmosphere was cool, but the live entertainment that night was singing very depressing songs which honestly just mismatched the vibe of the whole restaurant and ruined the mood. Happy I tried Iron Horse, but probably wouldn't come back between the odd service and the sad entertainment not matching with the expected vibe of the place. And I did enjoy the sweet potato with cinnamon and brown sugar. My husband enjoyed his Frank Sinatra burger and fries. So we were not disappointed with Iron Horse at all, we just didn't walk away impressed either. Not much else in the area so with limited options they don't really need to go all out.

In the "downtown" area across the street from the Wild Thyme Cafe. - Exterior: Nothing special. A boxy building with outside seating. - Ambiance: Country French...or as close as you can get in Utah. Actually, nice and comfortable. - Menu: Not big, but with interesting choices in each category. - Food: Excellent. We started the meal by sharing a Caprese Salad ($15). Large and tasty. My entree was one of the night's specials...Vegetable Curry ($22). Big bowl of fresh diced vegetables with a moderately spicy sauce. A fine dish. My wife chose the other special of the day...Chicken Marsala ($25) on a bed of mashed potatoes. It's one of her favorite's and she said "it was as good as any I've had". For dessert, we shared a Chocolate Mousse ($12). We could have had 3 more. For drinks, I had a Belgian Blond beer ($10) while my wife had a glass of French Chardonnay ($16). Both did the job. - Service: AMAZING describes our server, Wendy. She was the only person taking care of a roomful of customers. I counted 30 with more coming in. But Wendy helped us as if we were the only people in the restaurant. AMAZING. And one other question stumped us. How did the ONE chef handle 30+ orders and maintain a steady pace in the kitchen? Wow! - Price and Value: Not cheap, but worth it. The total before tax and tip was an even $100. - Parking: Fine, both behind and on the street. Vermillon might not be as "country French" as you'll find in France, but it was great and a lot closer to home.
