How on earth is this Wendy's allowed to even operate? From the moment you walk in, there is a really bad smell. Then as you walk down the hall toward the restrooms it becomes apparent where that smell is coming from. And as you enter either of the restrooms a fowl smelling stench hits you in the face!!! It's not the typical sewage smell you might expect, but more seems to be a rotting smell coming from the pipes or under the floor maybe. I don't know how a health inspector could allow bathrooms with such a disgustingly putrid smell like this be ok! I ordered a spicy nacho chicken foot-long. When I went to pick it up, I checked the contents in the car. The foot-long was a spicy BMT. I brought it back in and said it was wrong, and asked them to remake it. The two Hispanic women working just stared at me. (?) They didn't apologize. The one with the crazy eyebrows remade it, although made it seem like I was inconveniencing her. (!) Then instead of apologizing or offering me anything for the mistake, she literally said: "I just read the word spicy." (?!) Unacceptable service today at this location. I placed a curbside order through the app. I checked in through the app when I arrived and parked in the designated "curbside" spot at 1:00. This location also has a sign that requests customers send a text message to a phone number. I did that. And waited. At 1:30 I walked in to where there was one customer and two employees. I said I was waiting for my curbside order. The employee said, "you are supposed to text us." I responded I did and showed her my phone. Needless to say my order was done and had been sitting on the counter for however long. The reason why I selected curbside service is because my dog was with me and it was hot outside and I didn't want to leave my dog in the car. Needless to say, the employee who wasn't helping the customer and was just standing at the register could have noticed my car Allred right out front. If the establishment doesn't understand how to use technology or the technology doesn't work (she said she doesn't get the notifications when customers check in on app which is why she requests a text message which didn't work in my instance) then they should just not offer curbside service at all! read more

I recommend going to the Subway in the Gateway center, just up the street from this location. Service isn't great. I ordered a sandwich online and when I got there they tried to upcharge for items that were supposed to be part of the original sandwich, nothing I added extra. I paid thru the app so I paid more for less and when I showed them they could only tell me they don't participate and it's up to the owner not to participate in promotions. Always a great sandwich here considering it's a subway. I always love the tuna and you can ask them to take out the extra bread in the middle of the sandwich to keep the carbs down. Them I have them pile on the greens and add olive oil and vinegar and now you have a full sandwich even with the bread taken out of the middle. I also love the bmt it has lots of meat. I am not one to complain. Let me just put that out there. But this was over the top. I ordered online. The online platform didn't have the cheese I wanted as an option. So I called after I ordered so that I could tell the employee what cheese I wanted. I called 7 times and no one answered. I get there and park in the "curbside" spot. The sign said to call and they will bring it out. I once again called 3 times and no one answered. I saw the only employee in there with ear buds in just walking around. So I go in, tell him I called several times and he said he was "busy". So I told him about the cheese situation. He had already made my sandwich and didn't offer to remake it for me how I wanted it. Just said "I already made it." Then I get home, and this is how my sandwich looked. Like I said, I am a very easy going person who usually can brush things off. AND she has NO clue how to make a sandwich! She put everything on the bread and then LAYERED on TOP the condiments...aka, MAYO and MUSTARD. What a mess when I got it home! I told her that wasn't right but she ignored me, too busy with her face pointed at the OTHER people waiting, aka, Mexican people. Some training people! AND stop racial profiling! October is $5 footlong for quite a few of the subs, a great deal. I think the BMT is a good tasting sandwich, I get it on wheat, a bit healthier. Subway's subs are good but not great, and that reflects a lot on the quality of the bread and the meats used. Higher quality on both can be found at other places, for more money. I'm a huge fan of Subway. I am a frequent customer to the Subway in Norco, off of Hidden Valley, the Subway off of Magnolia in Corona, and this Subway in Mission Viejo. I've only been to the Mission Viejo location about 5 times. The only positive with this location is that it seems to be the only location of the three I frequent that has whole wheat flat bread. But aside from that, this location is very dirty, from my limited knowledge but common sense is definitely violating food code, and the service is pretty bad. Now I'm sure anyone on any given day can provide bad service time to time. So bad service can be excused because maybe the staff was short handed or the person working the counter was having a bad day. I can understand that and empathize. My concern is that this location is consistently filthy and during my most recent visit I saw something I'd never seen before in a Subway. The employee preparing the food had her 2yr old boy with her. During the time I was there the child was back and forth between the front of the store, behind the counter, and the back of the store. Also the employee seemed to speak limited English. It was a little strange to me because it seemed unusual and shocking that Subway would employ an illegal person, but even more shocking that this person would be supervising their child and allowing the child to be behind the counter. The few customers that came through while I was there were also visibly surprised of what they were seeing and experiencing. Part of me sympathizes with this girl working the counter. I'm torn on whether I should even complain because she's obviously doing what she can to survive. However, from a customer perspective and my sandwich, it was clearly a violation of the city food code and could potentially expose customers to illness. Aside from the obvious that the child had been playing on the floor with his toys and then was behind the counter where food was being prepared, it also goes without saying that the employee wasn't very clean herself since she was handling him after he was on the floor. read more
