    Old kids meal
    Diega D.

The woman with the atrocious face tattoos has the worst customer service I've experienced. I asked her if we got sauces on my last sandwich and she said " you didn't ask" with a rude tone. Then proceeded to make the mans sandwich behind me, then go to the register and I asked about a kids meal which she replied "there's never been a kids meal" or something like that. Then I thought she added the additional items after telling me you have to pay separately, I think she was confused or something. She wasn't talking much and was not able to explain clearly what she was saying. I was under the impression 2 of my sandwiches were a meal. Then I got my drink and was getting what I thought was the meal for the kids sandwich and she told me to get out or she will call the cops for stealing? I literally had my credit card in my hand (maybe she doesn't know what that looks like?) and asked if I could just pay for it and she was screaming to get out. I dont know if she was on drugs or something but my parter was also on the phone with me and heard her insane behavior. She lost her store money. Which managers would frown upon. The anger started when she said there has NEVER been a kids meal which is untrue. I worked for subway for years and we always had the fresh fit for kids meal. She could have taken the time to explain that you need to buy the items separately OR JUST added them on and charged me since that's what I asked for. She has face tattoos and a very rude attitude. When you're staying at the hospital for you child's treatment it's really disgusting that people act like this at work. I was never trying to "steal" anything and she knew that. I asked to pay. I thought she charged me. She didn't give me a receipt to look at.

The Transphobic & Ableist employee, who can't keep her politics out of my meal
    Ts B.

Visited around 1:30pm Oct 7 2025 , this employee was extremely Transphobic, and treated me in ways that I have never been treated at a subway. Misgendered me multiple times, first time, ok figured was a slip, (the employee she was working with looked over quickly at her after she did it, I think they knew what she was doing, didn't seem to approve, just kept making my sandwich, so no problem with that employee, they treated me with respect at all times) after letting it slide (I generally try to give people the benefit of the doubt,) , I proceeded with my order,, basically a cold cut with cheese onion, lots of jalapeño oil vinegar, salt, and pepper. (I leave off all the rest, I just got a lot of jalapeño on it) she puts like eight jalapeño slices on it, I ask for more and she refuses saying this is a strict portion policy, .. which really surprised me because I've been going to Subway since I was eight years old, ordering the same exact sandwich and have NEVER had a problem with it ( even a single time) in the thousands of times I've ordered (in a span of 35+yrs and 40+ states) I mentioned this to her, and she started laying on the Misgender real quick , sir this, sir that. , I called her on it, she kept doing it, essentially arguing it's her right to be a transphobe, so I got my money back and left. As I was leaving she did not refer to anyone else, including males as "sir" it was very clear. She was specifically targeting me because I am trans. (as the person with with me also observe, and others who have had the same experience with her have also observed) On the way out , I did make sure to catch a quick picture of her before leaving since she would not tell me her name or any other way to refer to her if making a complaint. Interestingly, when I mentioned this among a group of friends, other trans people have shared the same experience with her that are trans, and another friend who is disabled also had problems with her (and that friend isn't even trans!) I'll be honest, I'm half tempted to go out there with a bullhorn every day that she is working there, but I figured I would go ahead and try and resolve this another way and hopefully you read these reviews or I am able to reach the owner of this business and see how this is handled. But considering this location is right down the street from OHSU, which does a lot of medical care for trans patients, in a state that has the largest trans community per capita of any state, especially in Portland, this probably isn't a great business decision, nor is an ethical or moral to blatantly dehumanize your customer. I lived in Texas most of my life and even there , never had this experience at Subway. It's not like I was forcing her to refer to me as ma'am, I never even requested anything of the sort, I simply asked that I not be called, sir. But looking at the reviews, it seems this is not the first nor last time customers have/will have problems with this specific employee .

This is one of the nicer Subway sandwich shops. This one is clean has pretty good management it appears and good customer service. So it's subway, a healthier twist on fast food. They do offer gluten-free options here. This location offers breakfast sandwiches as well as their regular subs, soup, salads, chips, drinks and don't forget the cookies. Surprisingly the cookies are quite delicious especially the white chocolate raspberry. :-) There is Elizabeth Carruthers park cross the street so in the summer it is nice to grab a sub, sit in the park and relax. 2015-111

Worst customer service. Slow and incompetent. They need more staff and training. Management sucks. I would not go back.

Entering the shop, you will be greeted by loud music. Be ready for that. You will have the option to dine outside, if the weather provides it and the seats are empty. The hosts are wonderful and very accepting with a positive attitude. Smiles and all. I ordered the Jim because it was the only sandwich I could eat. The majority of the sandwiches contain meat, so I would not recommend this for vegans or pescatarians. Jim was delicious and I consumed both halves of Jim flawlessly. Either hunger overruled me, or the sandwich was that satisfying. I do recommend the shop, but with limited options for non-meat eaters, I truthfully would rate Lottie and Zulas, 4.5. Yet, I don't believe the spot was "good."

We also had the Vinny which was fine, a bit spicier than I thought it would be, but I'm a wimp. The service was fine, not overly friendly but adequate. The food is 4 stars, the service 3 starts, but the real bummer was all the plastic. Plastic container, plastic cups and we were eating in. They asked if it was to go and we said no, but everything came in plastic anyway. The ambiance is quintessential Portland, right up until they bring all your food in plastic with plastic silverware to boot.

Let me start by saying I didn't take pictures. For anyone who reads my reviews, that's a big part…read moreof them: ALL THE PICTURES. Presentation, portions, half eaten, etc... but I didn't. Because the food was so damn good. Look - I'm going to start off by saying I grew up practically on The Hill. Out here, you'll have to Google it (make sure to add 'RI' to the search or you'll get some political BS), but back east, "alls you's have ta say" was those two words and anyone would know you knew your Italian, food and otherwise. There isn't anything on this coast that vaguely compares to The Hill's food, but walking into and biting out of Geraldi's was having a little piece of home. There's this little shop in the old town where the owner knew your voice when you called to order... you'd walk in, and you heard "hey cousin!" whether you were or not, and that's the vibe you get from Geraldi's. The food is much the same - you get something that looks like Nonna was at the range all day with her sauce (it's not gravy - no meat) and you came home looking like you haven't eaten in weeks: "I'm gonna fatten you up before you leave" and you walked out the door with a sub (sandwich, that is - not a submarine) that weighed the same as a newborn. We got three of those babies: a Chicago Beef (seal of approval from the orderer - only 'complaint' was that they had to eat it all in one day because the bread was quote too soggy to make it to lunch the next day - travesty), an Italian sausage (just as delicious when 1/2 was reheated the next day) and a Chicken Parmeroni (I thought somehow even better when 1/2 was reheated the next day) and I could have absolutely gone back the next day if it weren't for A. the leftovers 2/3 of us had and B. the meal planning we'd done for the week. I also grabbed a side of giardiniera because I will get it anytime I see it available and I inhaled it - I need to know if I can by it by the vat instead of the side cups because it too was similar to what I can find at home (about practically nowhere out here) and amazing!! I'm still upset I didn't take pictures though!

We ordered 1/2 Chicago beef and 1/2 chicken parm. The bread is the winner! So crunchy on the outside and soft in the inside. Beef was a little dry for being in the au jus but still good, big chucks of chicken breast with flavorful sauce was also good. Will be back to try one of the cold sandwiches next.

Between the genuinely friendly hospitality and the flavor combinations, this spot hits it out of the park and is a must for sandwich lovers. Griddled Mortadella (5/5): An incredibly delicious sandwich that perfectly balances rich, salty, and savory flavors. It comes loaded with a generous portion of grilled mortadella and melted provolone cheese, perfectly moistened with a tangy mustard aioli. The fresh lettuce and bell peppers added a satisfying crunch to every bite. Chefwich - K-Town Steak Sandwich (5/5): A limited-time creation packed into a banh mi roll. It had a generous portion of perfectly tender and sweet bulgogi steak that pairs with their melted jack cheese. The gochujang mayo sauce had a subtle and sweet heat, while the fresh kimchi added crunch and slight acidity to balance the rich meat. Elote Tater Tots (5/5): Definitely a creative side dish. The tots were perfectly fried and topped elote style with cotija cheese, pairing well with the smoky chipotle mayo on the side. Logistics Tip: Street parking is surprisingly easy to find in the surrounding area, even on a busy weekend evening. The restaurant has a spacious layout with plenty of seating options both inside and outside. If you're a first-timer, don't hesitate to ask the staff for suggestions, as they're exceptionally warm, welcoming, and passionate about the menu.

My daughter and I shared the Willamette Reuben and her friend ordered the Italian Flag. We shared the Lardo fries. Oh man, the Reuben was perfection! The flavor of the meat and everything on the sandwich, from texture to flavor--chef's kiss! We heard that the Italian Flag was excellent too. Definitely, you can share a sandwich especially if you're having fries. The fries were delicious--crispy and flavorful on the outside, perfectly hot and mushy on the inside. Yum!
