The service here is horrible. I ordered a sandwich a month ago and when I came to pick it up the person that was making it his name is Francisco said you come every time. I'm very busy poor customer service. It's not my fault that he is busy that's why I order ahead and I was waiting and being very friendly, towards him, but he has poor customer service today again after that day I ordered again, I come to pick up the same guys is there I asked if my order is ready and he said don't you see that I have a long line I he said! Said let me know. What time is it gonna be ready? He said two minutes I sat down and wait while he helped the other customers, then he says it is ready. My order was done wrong and I told him it was wrong and then he checked the order and he made the correct order and then he said don't you understand what time you have to come and pick it up I explained to him I just asked if my order was ready and then when you gave it to me, it was wrong and he was giving attitude and I asked for his manager, and he said he didn't know who the manager was I asked for the phone number where I could contact the manager he said he didn't have anyone. Apparently, I was not supposed to let him know that I was there for a pick-up order - he will complain and tell you he's busy. This outstanding employee works during the week around lunch time. An old Latino person working at the counter prepping the sandwiches got mad and started lecturing me about my order because I ask him to add spinach and cucumbers to my sandwich, and he told me No with a big attitude, and he started scolding me about my order at the register. I'm a Latina but his attitude sounded and looks like he doesn't have the patients to interact with Latino people. He was arrogant at all times. One star for being open. Bread was old, hard and crusty. I had the six inch Black Forest Ham. Meat was warm (but I didn't get sick.) Restaurant was filthy. Service was extremely rude. Efficient makers of decent sandwiches with the hardest to DECIPHER food menu. This is my local Subway, by local the other one is a whole three blocks farther away. Subway is the Starbucks of the coffee world in the FiDi. Same vein as Lee's but not as many options and a little pricer. Subway are staffed by professional sandwich artists. Meaning they can cut bread, throw ragged looking condiments on Lunchable quality meat. The real magic, is that they can make it taste half way decent, and if you are on a diet they have something for you. Subway menu really pushes their 6" subs, low calorie, low fat, blah blah blah... We all know SIZE matters, that is why I always pack a FOOT long. Otherwise on those days where they have the special 6" of the day, instead of buying three of those to quench your appetite. You get one large sub. Plenty of bread and condiment options. I get easily confused when trying to pick out a sandwich. No description UNDER the name of the said sub. I eat here at least once a week because it is conveniently close to my office. My only complaint is that they are stingy with the veggies. An example: A month ago, the new girl gave me too many pickles. When my sandwich got to the end, the manager, who was wrapping the sandwiches and manning the register, asked me who made my sandwich. When I told her who made my sandwich, she gave the girl a glare that literally burned her ear off. Now, she only has one ear. Other times the employees will remove a pickle or a slice of tomato if they feel like I got one too many. I guess those employees want to keep both of their ears. Just say you are on a budget! There is NO other reason for eating here! Well I guess there could be one... if you are slowly trying to be come a vegetarian... then I understand... try ANY sandwich here and I bet you can not taste the meat! I wavered between giving this Subway location in the Financial District 1 or 2 stars, but I ended up giving 2 because, like all Subways, you can *see* what they are doing with your food, which affords me some level of comfort; Subway is a good choice if you are in the mood for bland food (I am not being sarcastic, sometimes I want a bland lunch); and if you are busy and end up taking a late lunch, they are still open and operating later in the afternoon. I've been here several times and have had some negative experiences with the staff and the woman who seems to be the owner. Negative Experience #1: When I walked in, an employee was mopping up the floor. He came to take my order, reaching for the bread without washing his hands or putting on gloves! I delicately let him know I was in no rush and would wait while he washed his hands. He refused. I then asked him to wash his hands as that actually felt less awkward than walking out. I felt really embarassed but his hands actually looked dirty. Negative Experience #2: I did not come back to this location for a long time after that hygiene failure, but eventually a day came when I finally lifted my head from my pile of work and heard my grumbling stomach. Short on time, I ran out to grab a quick lunch and the nearby restaurants were closing shop. Subways was open. I ordered a turkey sandwich, which the employee promptly piled high with ham. I mentioned that I had ordered a turkey sandwich, please. He looked at me like I was speaking Martian. I asked him to take the ham off. He just looked at me. I mentioned that I do not eat ham. He flung it off (what's with all the attitude?) and shoved my sandwich towards the next employee in the sandwich assembly line, giving me a dirty look in the process. WTH? It was kind of funny, actually, as if I had offended his porcine-loving sensibilities. Negative Experience #3: The grumpy lady owner/manager is a repeated negative experience. I don't expect love from a sandwich lady, but if I am a customer, please do not take your bad day out on me. I try my best to avoid this Subways, but I do admit that it's a last resort option on late lunch days or when my stomach just wants something plain and unchallenging. read more

Pros: - Extremely efficient service. - The vegetables do look and taste fresh. - They give you plenty of vegetables without the need to ask for more. - The bread is always fresh and they bake plenty of it. So check this... Ive been going here for 3 years because of my job across the street. The dude who opens the spot is cool as ice...he's like my boy BLUE....but his boss/owner, the lady that runs the register...let me tell you, she is rude, snotty (hey lady, its a subway, not Jack Falstaffs Sandwich Shop) and is skimpy with the toppings. Only reason I go like I said is the dude who opens it is good people... I stopped by for a late lunch and regret it. It was a poor service with an unhappy employee staring and whispering after every dialog. It was totally annoying. Came into this subway around 9:40am and was not greeted by anyone. The employee working the front was busy making cookies, he looked at me and turned back around and proceeded to make his cookies, after waiting for him to be done he walks to the counter and just stairs and me, not a word. After giving him my order he made my sandwich pretty sloppy. I asked for him to add cooked bacon and he put raw bacon on, when I told him I want the bacon cooked but not the sandwich toasted he just started at me with his mouth open. When we got to the cash register he rang up my order then walked away and never came back. I entered m debit card then waited till it told me to remove it. I wanted a receipt but he never came back to the register. I then asked for a water cup as he was helping another customer and he just gave me that same ugly stair, paused for a moment then took his gloves off off gave me a cup. I love going to Subway on days I just don't know where to go for lunch. The daily $2.99 specials are really worth the money! My favorite is Thursday's Italian BMT sandwich. Not sure what the BMT stands for, but I like to call it the Italian Big Meaty Treat...:) It's so damn good with extra ranch suace in my Big Meaty Treat. This is a review for Subway after all so the whole 5 star rating system must be taken in its proper context. My happiness with this subway is for two reasons. The woman who operates this one makes sure that it is run right and the customers are happy. When I am trying to be good and not temp myself with the pasta across the street the speed at which I get my healthy alternative is paramount. I can walk into this franchise and before I know it have my healthier lunch in seconds. Before I can even second guess my decision and run across the street for Fettuccine Alfredo I am dangling the bag of baked chips and 6 inch sub minus the mayo and am on my way back to my office. read more

What is it about Subway that's so damn good? The 6" turkey on wheat with all the fixin's is my tried and true favorite. Sometimes I'll even get all crazy and get the foot-long. Damn- that is a lot of goodness. True, a Subway experience can vacillate greatly from Subway to Subway. I try to avoid the Subways in the gas stations (except in extreme conditions like a road trip to LA). My friend once told me a story about working at a hotel where a Subway franchise owner's conference took place. He said the guys were mostly a swarthier, shady and unfriendly drunked bunch. It's tough because the sandwich engineers work hard to get your orders done efficiently and correctly. The owner/manager/whoever kind of has a bad attitude though. I wanted to give one more star, but the woman who made my sandwich messed up my order twice! First of all, I always have my sandwich on wheat bread, but she proceeded for white bread. I stopped her and said, "wheat bread.". As with the vegetables portion, I told her no on three items in which I didn't pay much attention. Been to this subway location for a long time. Today however might be my last time. Ordered without problem, until I stopped at the last station which is paying. Since they offer Apple Pay and I used it a few times already, I used it again today (4/4) but it has an error. Eric - the person who served immediately said, "You broke my machine." I was of course unhappy for his sudden comment. It took him a while to try fix it. He was frustrated, I was of course very unhappy. I had to suggest him to cancel my order and help other who pay cash so that he can reset his card machine. This kind of blaming. I will no longer take it. read more

1-Star for my experience with your unprofessional employee Gilbert (his name tag had extra letters at the end). Came in here after 3PM on 11/29/17 for a late lunch so there wasn't much stores open for food. From the time I came in (no greetings from him) and said what bread I wanted, it took him at least 15secs to pay attention and he was just staring down taking his own sweet time. I wanted to walk out, but thought I'd let it go. This is a fast food chain. If I wanted a slower service, I would've went to a seat-in restaurant. I ordered a steak sandwich. This was the first time I saw a Subway employee not use the measuring spoon for the meat. Kudos to him using a brand new gloves, but he shoved that hand in the steak meat, grabbed some cheese, and put the extra cheese that was already contaminated back into the container. Another red flag. I really should've walked out right then and there. The third red flag was when he mocked my voice. At this point, I was already reaching my patience limit, but remained calm. At check out he said "bag for 10cents?" and "chips and drinks?". Couldn't be bothered to form a complete sentence. I leave with my foot long sandwich and only ate a quarter of it because I couldn't stomach the fact that he used the same gloves for meat, cheese, and vegetables. I can only imagine that the vegetables have long been contaminated (maybe since the beginning of his shift). read more
