Another kick ass brunch at succotash! They were offering a $25 three course option that was a great deal. I had three pimento hush puppies, trout over dirty rice, and banana pudding and all was delicious. My friend loved the cornbread, the crab hash, the mint julep ice cream, and her drink, Coffee and Cigarettes. Great and friendly service. Beautiful space.

Hands-down, my favorite meal in DC, and it was very reasonably priced for lunch. Got a salad which was very delicious. Also got the lunch meal which included hush puppies, chicken, and waffles, and banana pudding dessert. The hush puppies had amazing flavor, and were in a spicy sauce with pimento cheese. I saved the rest of that sauce for the main course, which was half a Belgian waffle with two large pieces of fried chicken. The chicken was juicy yet crispy on the outside. The banana pudding was a little too sweet for me, but still delicious. Service was wonderful. Our waitress came by at just the right times, and our food came out pretty quick. The restaurant itself was mostly packed, but we were able to snag last-minute lunch reservations on a Saturday. Since the restaurant has two floors of seating, it was a bit noisy, but not so much that I couldn't hear anyone talking at my table.

I celebrated my 21st birthday here! The service was amazing and the restaurant is just so beautiful. The food was very tasty and they kindly gave me a small dessert with a candle for the celebration. This is a place that is good for a nice lunch or dinner; really good for pics too!

An overall 3.75 star review for Succotash Prime. Located in DC, you already know parking is a challenge and there is no street parking. Reservations are recommended, but depending on the day and time of your visit and number of persons in your party, you may get lucky and be accommodated. We made reservations to avoid any crappy seating or prolonged waiting. Although, we decided around lunchtime to go after work, it wasn't difficult to secure a reservation. Not a lot of diners when we arrived on a Friday afternoon at 3:30pm. Seated quickly, Rio was our server. I don't know what they did to him prior to our arrival but he was giving "I don't want to be here" vibes in his speech and body language. He was efficient and checked on us appropriately but had to hand us off to another server who was coming on shift. I wish we had started with her as she had an upbeat outlook and was energetic. There are seasonal cocktails and I went with the Cherry Pick in honor of the blooming of the cherry blossoms in Washington, DC. It was flavorful and I enjoyed it. The menu provided had small variations in what they serve in comparison to their sister location Succotash in National Harbor. An express option at $31 (skirt steak or salmon) with salad, French fries and dessert is a welcome source of variety. I had the catfish sandwich that comes with french fries. I think I got the catfish that was on Ozempic because that was the thinnest fillet of catfish I've seen. Normally catfish is flakier and meatier. The sandwich was good and reheated well since I was only able to eat half during the visit. The interior was very spacious and has an upper level. There is a bar and sometimes they run out of featured cocktails but it gives the opportunity to go with your backup choice. If in the area, I would frequent here again.

Just amazing from the interior to the music to the food. What a treat. Loved everything about it. Our meal & the options made it challenging to choose one dish. Also gives reasons to return. Being from Kentucky we highly recommend the Hot Brown. You won't be disappointed. We finish our meal with the pecan sticky rolls. So be certain to save room for that treat. We will return out and we highly recommend it. Our server was good, but I can't say great. He definitely knew the menu and made multiple recommendations.

I went to Succotash and tried the "Taste the South." The inside of the restaurant is beautiful and the overall vibe is great. Service was fine, nothing standout but no real issues there. The biggest problem was the food. It took a long time to come out, and when it finally did, it was honestly pretty underwhelming. For something that's supposed to highlight Southern cooking, it really lacked flavor across the board. Nothing was bad, but nothing was memorable either. If you've never had Southern food before, you might enjoy it just for the experience and setting. But if you have any baseline for what good Southern food should taste like, this doesn't really hit. Overall, it just felt very average and not something I'd go back for.

So far so good!!! Greeted by lovely and friendly staff. Thank you Chris and Haden and Sheria!!! So much on the menu, so little time!!! Everyone can find something delicious on the menu, fish, steak, pork and poultry! This the place you plan to attend when there is a variety of different appetites. The place is airy and open!!!

Succotash might officially be the start of a love story... and honestly, what a place to begin. I came here for a first date, and everything--from the ambiance to the food--set the tone perfectly. It's warm, inviting, and just the right mix of lively and intimate. We started with the fried green tomato salad and the cauliflower. The salad was fresh, flavorful, and a standout for me. The cauliflower had a bit too much sauce for my taste, but the texture was excellent--crispy and well-executed. For mains, I had the catfish and my date ordered the smoked wings--both were delicious and full of flavor. But beyond the food, the experience really made the night. Great conversation, a kind and thoughtful date, and a setting that made it all feel a little special. We've already gone on a second date... so who knows--this might just be the place we look back on and say, "this is where it all started." Wish us luck

Queues Just the two of us, by Grover Washington. Just the year before we were a family of five celebrating but this past year it was just the two of us. Christmas 2025 was quiet but full. He chose Succotash Prime as our Christmas dinner location. He would always keep our dinner location a secret and have me anticipating where we were going. I am like a kid and that brought more excitement to the evening. I was pleasantly surprised, what a gorgeous establishment. Wasn't a fan of the stairs but beautiful nonetheless. Bright lights, upscale decor, super impressive! Seating was tight and we could hear our guests to the right of us. A bit intrusive and if I could change one thing about the space it would be that.... the closeness of the tables. Getting out, my big ole butt was all in their table and they made mention of it too. Smh! Let's get into it! Fried Oyster's - Good but they were expensive for the portion. Wouldn't get them again, price point doesn't match. Deviled eggs- YES! YES! YES! Filet Mignon Blackened Please! - SOOOOOOO GOOD! Roasted Half Duck - Decent but he didn't really oooh and ahhhhh! Mac and Cheese - More please! Greens - Okay! But not my fave! Overall, we had a great Christmas dinner. If I had to choose, I'd choose the other location over this one. We came and conquered! Life shifts quickly. Live fully, love deeply, and let the memories travel with you.

I had brunch with my husband and some friends at Succotash Prime this past Sunday, when we were in DC for a theater production in the area, and we had a good meal. I'm a big fan of Top Chef, and Succotash is a restaurant by Chef Edward Lee, who competed in Season 9 of the show. Korean American, Chef Lee fell in love with Southern cuisine and the city of Louisville, and Succotash (one of several of his restaurants) is a really beautiful example of the blending of his Korean heritage and the American South, its ingredients and cuisine. We shared a few dishes to start: deviled eggs (they offered two varieties - green tomato kimchi and bacon jam), crispy Korean cauliflower, and creamy corn succotash (a side). I loved the green tomato kimchi deviled egg, but I found the bacon jam deviled egg way too strong - too much bacon (some of you may say this isn't possible, but it was a lot of bacon and I thought it took over everything else). The cauliflower isn't something I would typically order, but the rest of the table loved it. I thought the creamy corn succotash was a great spin/hybrid of a couple Southern classics. I really appreciated the variety of mains they offer on their brunch menu. The others at my table ordered the Hangover Special (fried eggs, pulled pork, warm potato salad, red-eye gravy, and a buttermilk biscuit), Shrimp and Grits (Royal Red shrimp, andouille sausage, holy trinity, and jalapeno oil), and the pimiento cheese burger (potato bun, bacon jam, house pickles, and french fries). I chose and loved their open-faced blackened trout sandwich, and everyone else enjoyed their choices as well. Regarding drinks, I enjoyed a couple of glasses of wine wine, my friend had iced tea, and our husbands had a couple of cocktails. Their gochujang bloody mary (our table ordered two) tasted a little watered down and bland, but the rest of the drinks we had we enjoyed. The restaurant is beautiful. It's located in a converted former-bank, and it's a perfect space for a Southern-ish spot for a fancy brunch or dinner. The decor works, too: leather, wallpaper, a long bar... The service was very good as well. Overall, it was a very good brunch, one I'd be happy to repeat.

I came here for dinner with a large group of 15. We had their family style set menu. The inside is slightly upscale and can get quite noisy. The service was great and attentive. The set menu was amazing. Even a colleague from the south said the food was great. As a vegetarian I appreciated that many items were vegetarian friendly. The only thing we didn't really enjoy was the truffle on the dessert menu. We tried some of the mocktails and they were very delicious as well. Highly recommend coming here!!

The customer service is out of this world! We made a reservation and found street parking. There are garages nearby as well. Ceasar was our server and he was top notch! He explained the menu, made recommendations and was overall just on point! The Belle's Punch was so good. I'm glad Ceasar suggested the pitcher, hehe! It serves 5, but me and my friend had no problem taking it on ourselves! Ha! If you have the appropriate group (2+), just gon head and get the TASTE OF THE SOUTH! It has everything you need. The cornbread was so buttery and it melted in my mouth. I still dream about it sometimes (*tear). The sticky pecan buns were soft and so flavorful! The collards with kimchi were so tasty! Don't hesitate to try them! It was my favorite side! The macaroni was great! The fried chicken was crispy and fried to perfection! I will say we liked it better with hot sauce. They do have hot sauce, which is great! The menu doesn't state that the chicken & waffles includes a shaved cheese garnish over top of it. I had to ask for some chicken without it. The manager Chris came by and he was accommodating for that and I appreciated that! The deviled eggs stole the show! I loved both the green tomato and bacon jam versions! I can't front though, I saw that French toast at the table beside me and it looked delectable! It looked so thick and crunchy! I'll be trying that next!

Succotash Prime was the surprise restaurant of choice for Christmas dinner after seeing how nice it looked online. Once we arrived, the pictures didn't do this place justice. One word, gorgeous! This two level beauty had upscale written all over it. I've eaten at the National Harbor location more than I can count, but this is Succotash "Prime", so my expectations were just a bit higher. Bring on the menu! Where are the raw oysters? Where is the amazing bone-in beef shortrib that my taste buds were craving? I'll tell you, no where to be found. When I asked our super friendly server about the shortrib, it was obvious that it wasn't a menu misprint, it's never offered..LOL! After my initial disappointment, I took a gander at the small special menu and low and behold, there was another one of my favorite meals, roasted duck. We went with the fried oysters and deviled eggs as our appetizers, and for entrees, she chose the filet mignon and I chose the aforementioned roasted half duck. I was feeling a bit under the weather so I ordered the Maker's Mark apple cider. It was delicious and exactly what I needed! So "the great" was her filet and the deviled eggs. She took my suggestion and had her steak blackened and man was that thing tasty. "The good" was my duck. The portion size was two thumbs up but taste wise, I've had better. The fried oysters were underwhelming to say the least. Four fried oysters for $17.50, stop it! Our server was OUTSTANDING, and her energy, especially for it being Christmas evening, was unparalleled. Would I come back?? Absolutely, I loved the atmosphere, however, I'd wait unil "Prime" comes to their senses and add the shortrib. Also, I'm anxious to try their on-site Speakeasy "Mr. Lee's", since Speakeasies are my thang!! Happy New Year!!

I started at the bar while awaiting the rest of my party. I enjoyed a glass of brut rose and complimentary popcorn. The popcorn is nothing short of amazing! The bar staff couldn't be friendlier and accommodating. When transitioning to dinner, I left to an intimate environment where our server was attentive and humorous. I ordered the Lobster Linguine, perfectly seasoned and flavorful. Goodness! I then indulged in an espresso martini which rounded out the perfect dinner. I cannot wait to return.

I had an opportunity to introduce some and reacquaint others with why OCEAN PRIME is one of the best restaurants for service, food, and cocktails. When we arrived, not only did we have an amazing greeting from staff who gave us every impression that we were the most important people in the restaurant. Our server was beyond top-notch. Tiana set the standard for how a server should engage thoughtfully and helpfully. We had the iconic berries and bubbles, black, orchid cocktails, glasses of wine, and, of course, the goat cheese ravioli. For main entrées, we had an amazing special of lobster and scallop risotto, and Ribeye steaks, both Oscar-style and plain. Our side items were the jalapeño, gratin, potatoes, lobster, mac & cheese, brussels sprouts, and broccoli. The pace of service was perfect. We had plenty of time to enjoy the cocktails, appetizers, and dinner. The food came out extremely well seasoned, hot, and to everyone's liking. The general manager, Tim, took time to come by the table to make sure everything was going well and really put the icing on the cake by ensuring our entire experience lived up to the Cameron Mitchell brand. Truly, a night to remember
