I would suggest using caution when purchasing a used vehicle here. Right on the Sudbay website they promote that "Each used Jeep undergoes a detailed inspection process". Here I am, less than 9 months after purchasing and staring down $2k of repair costs for corroded oil pan, corroded oil adapter, corroded wiring on backup sensor. One would think the "detailed inspection" would have found those corrosion issues. I guess not. read more

I want to start off with saying I'm very pleased with the employees, i came in this week for an oil change and Matt helped me so much he was so kind got me in and out within the hour. When I got to my car I found a note in my vehicle saying "Have a great day" with a smiley face. When leaving I noticed a young kid coming out to help another customer rest their oil change light and he was so polite. I will definitely be coming back here soon. Don't be fooled if you're getting a used car have it checked. I picked up my Jeep July 1st, excited with a new (used) car, I drove it for my family vacation to FL, July 6th - July 12th. When I got to FL, it was making creaking and clonking noises so I call Sudbay and I'm told to go to a Jeep anywhere I have full coverage, get there and the maintenance/service guy is like there's nothing here, we'll look over it but we're supposed to charge you. They look it over and say, we believe it's in the brakes, if we take it apart we'll have to charge you as if we're doing a brake job - I'm on vacation but I'm not loaded, no way, man. I call Sudbay again and say I'm bringing it in on July 13th; today is the 19th and this is my second time since then. Yeah, I got free gas out of it once but there is no reason a car I just got from a dealership should have this many issues. Either Jeeps are crap cars or the Jeep they sold me is. Again, the people here are great and everything they fixed was taken care of at new charge to me but come on, I should be enjoying a new car not spending days at the dealership. read more

This was our go-to place for state inspection stickers for years, I always recommended them to people I know. But NOW! They are worse than terrible! The receptionist will inform you of their hours, when asked, but what is not said is how long it takes to do an inspection, which is more than 30 minutes each. So if you show up and there are 4 people ahead of you it will take 2 hours! The receptionist is not just not helpful but a hindrance. She recommended I come back later in the day (saying they stop doing inspections at 4:00). I returned at 3:00 and she told me they weren't doing any more that day. I knew it was time to go elsewhere. I went to a Beverly repair shop and was in and out in 15 minutes! Don't bother with these folks! read more

DONT BUY A JEEP! Worst car I have ever owned. Spend 11 grand on a jeep liberty with 66,000 miles on it and it has needed A) the front end and 4x4 totally rebuilt $2500 B) transmission work $400 C) A NEW ENGINE! $4000 and after balancing the tires and an alignment and new tires it still shimmies at 35, 45 and 60 mph. I have gone to Sudday since I bought the car there. The last 2 times I ended up with repairs! After diagnostics showed problem. However they have always given me good service and I am mostly pleased. I tried to schedule an appointment with one of the dealerships closer to us but they couldn't fit me in till several days out and they were kind of rude on the phone. I got in touch with Sudbay Chrysler and spoke with a very friendly gentleman named Gordon, who told me to bring the Jeep right in. When I reached the lot, a salesman directed to where I could find Gordon. He walked us through everything and they got work on the car right away. After 30,000 miles I got a check engine light and panicked thinking it would cost an arm and a leg. He assured me everything would be okay and they would take care of it. I recently bought a Jeep Wrangler from Sudbay's. Trying to shop local and support our local businesses. This will be my first and last time buying anything from them. There was not one negotiation with the original price. Then 24 hours later after driving it off the lot it was not running right. I brought it back and they fixed one of the smaller issues with the cheapest parts they could find and they refused to fix the major problem that is now costing me almost $2,000 to fix. From what I was told they knew the car had these issues prior to me signing the paperwork. My husband and I were very serious about leasing a Jeep. We got there Memorial Day weekend on a Friday around 330. They did not tell us the best lease deals they were offering, we found munch better deals on their website online after we left. It felt like they were anxious to leave for the holiday weekend instead of dealing with us and making a sale. We would of appreciated them just telling us to come back on Tuesday, instead I would not recommend them and won't do business there again. read more

What an incredible disappointment. Honestly, this place was exceptional for sales. The salesman, Dale, quickly got us oriented to some options that were perfect for us. In the end we ended up getting the car we wanted at an amazing price. The problems come with the service department (which is realistically the folks you spend the most time interacting with). We have brought our car in there for warranty work and oil changes and each time it is a complete and utter hassle. 3 major issues: 1.) They consistently underestimate how long it will take to do anything (they had my wife sitting in the waiting room with 2 little kids for over 2 hours for an oil change?!?!) 2.) The scheduling people are borderline incompetent. (I asked recently what it was that caused the door to break and the guy literally picked up the shop notes I had just read and started reading to me. Also, they disregarded our initial request to check the brakes; said they were fine, only to have to replace all 4 rotors and pads 2 months later) 3.) Waaay overpriced. Anything that isn't covered under the warranty we take to Family Car Care on Pond Rd. They are consistently $100-200 below what Sudbay charges. We wrote all of these incidents up in an e-mail to the service manager and they responded that they would get back to us, but never did... It's such a shame because the entire sales process was so good. I can definitely say that I won'y buy another car from these guys until they fix the service stuff though. read more

Very frustrated with the people working here. I should have learned my lesson the first time around! Car got towed here on a Wednesday, took them 48 hours to even look at my car. No one updates you unless you continue to call them and their communication with their customers is terrible. Now it is almost a week later on Tuesday and no update or word on when the car will be done. It was just a sensor that needed to be replaced. I have called multiple times and the receptionist tells me they will call me "in a few minutes with an update," but it is hours later now ... I will never put myself through this again! Worst dealership in MA. I bought a 2011 jeep patriot from them. The carfax came back with one previous owner and no accidents reported. Clearly this wasn't the case with all the work i have had done rebuilding the front of the truck. These people are crooks who clearly don't care about the welfare of their customers. Sudbay also had the balls to tell me one week after purchasing the car that "i got one over on them" when i brought it in after i filled the tire 6 times the week i bought it. ZERO BLOODY stars!!!! Leased 2013 Jeep Overland and brought my car back 10 times in 1 year. But that's not why Zero Stars, though. David Sudbay himself said, "HE WOULD PERSONALLY OVERSEE/DRIVE/HANDLE THE MAINTENANCE." when i got the car back (this morning), grease on center counsel, door, rug, parts of car on the floor, greasy paper mats on the floor, seat all the way forward. filthy. 6 days they had it, no wash, no detail. no discipline. Leasing this car has cost me 1000's of dollars in lost business. They have no loaner cars. I have had to rent 3-4 cars (their expense), have been shuttled 3 times back and forth, waited in their lounge area (no cell service). Their service team has broken and scratched 2 panels in the car, and now Stains in the rug. wtf read more

I was extremely disappointed with the lack of service from Sudbay. I brought my car there and described a problem that I was having with accelerating. I made an appointment so I assumed they would look at it the next day- but, they didn't get back to me for several days. I even called twice and was told I would have an update "in a few hours" and it still took days. When they finally called, they cited a problem that I had with the car earlier in the summer (which I did not mention to them, but I assume it went into some sort of national database/car fax system so they were able to find it online) and they went on to say that it had to be the transmission and it would cost a minimum of $3000 to fix. I picked up the car, and they wanted to discuss either fixing it or "other options" which I assume involved purchasing a used car from them, but I didn't have time and said I'd get back to them. I felt sure it wasn't the transmission so I brought it to another shop down the street and they were able to diagnose the problem and fix it within one day for only $450. It wasn't the transmission at all which leads me to believe that Sudbays never even looked at my car- they simply ran a search on it and decided that it had to be the transmission based on what I described. That is pretty horrible service and unacceptable. I will never bring my car there again, and I'm making sure to tell all of my friends about the horrible service. I think it was all an attempt to rip me off and convince me to purchase a used car from them! read more

I just had to return my lease so it was a simple transaction but everyone was very helpful, friendly and fast. They greeted me and a few people who walked in after I was there very nicely and quick to assist. Nice lounge area in the back too which was nice since I had to wait for a ride. I talked to Mike Walsh who was excellent. I have been car shopping for months. I've been to Kelly Nissan of Beverly, Detour cars and many more. NONE compared to Subdays. The people at Sudbays were nice, friendly, and excelled in customer service. I ended up getting a 2008 Dodge Avenger, and I love it! I HIGHLY recommend Sudbay's. read more

This is the first negative review I have ever posted. I feel compelled to warn people of the absolutly horrible customer service I have received at Sudbays. I brought my 2011 mini van there for a transmission issue 16 days ago (covered under warranty) and its still there. The first day I dropped my car off they said they would check it out and call us, they never called, we called the next day and was told they would look into the status and call us back, they never called, we called again and they told us it was the transmission and it would take a week, after a week we called and were told it would be done the next day, they have told us the same thing every day since and they still have my van, we have talked to Chris, the manager Jeff, the owners son in law, the owners brother and I left a message for Don Sudbay himself ( left the message 6 days ago and still have not received a call back) He is not the generous caring man the other reviewer (Benjamin P) claims or I would have at least received the courtesy of a return phone call, also Benjamin P's review contradicts another review he made about a Subaru dealership....check it out. I am a very frustrated mother of 3 children who has been without a vehicle for 16 days, they have lied to me, not returned any of my calls and after 16 days, still will not offer a courtesy vehicle.
