While on a walk with my boys in Edmonds, we happened upon this food truck. I had already planned on getting them ice cream to distract them from a disappointing afternoon. While reading the menu, I asked the young lady, "How much is this?" I hadn't even seen the pricing on the "menu." She said, "A single is $6, a double is..." and went on listing the prices for the various sizes. The menu says: Step One: Pick a flavor. Step Two: Pick a size. Step Three: Add ice cream. I said, "So it's like a cookie with the ice cream on top?" The young lady agreed. I said, "Okay, we'll get singles of whatever my boys pick for flavor." We got cookie dough in probably 2 oz bowls... with NO ice cream. I was confused, and despite my 14-year-old begging me not to, I went back and asked, "So... was this supposed to have ice cream?" She said, "No, that's extra." I looked back at the board, the three clearly stated steps, and said, "What? Are you sure? It says Step One, Step Two, Step Three." Even she looked confused. She explained, "If you look by 'Add Ice Cream,' there's an extra charge." In utter bewilderment, I discovered that, in approximately 1/2-inch font in a color swatch only slightly darker than the background, there was a tiny "+3" hiding underneath the ice cream scoop image. I can tell you, the Karen that lives inside us all wanted to make her presence known regarding the false advertising of serving cookie dough in a bowl WITHOUT ice cream on a hot summer day. But she did not. Karen was suppressed, and we quietly ate our bowls of edible cookie dough sans ice cream. 0/5 stars for expectations. 2/5 stars (and that's generous) for the dough itself. It was SUPER sweet. So sweet, in fact, that two out of my three boys didn't finish theirs, and we really needed that $2 Kirkland water bottle they were selling just to wash it down. My 14-year-old human garbage disposal gave it 5 stars, but the 11-year-old gave it 1 star, and the 9-year-old gave it 3 stars... so they average out to 2 stars overall. read more

I was very pleasantly surprised a couple weekends ago when I set out of the Langus riverfront trail in Everett for a brisk Sunday walk, and I ran into this dessert truck! Unpopular opinion, but this place was not very good. Four stars because my son loved it, and they have complimentary sprinkles. Staff were nice to him and towards all of us buying from their food truck. Ice cream is $3 alone and then $5-9 for the cookie dough. A dreamy mixture unlike any other cookie dough you will get at the grocery store. We found a sugar + spoon truck at the Everett Music at the Marina and they were the perfect treat with a cold drink and good music. I tried their Cookie Monster and Party Animal flavors and really enjoyed the fun blue, oreo bespeckled Cookie Monster! It tastes like classic chocolate chip cookie dough, and uses no eggs and heat treated flour. I can't wait to go again and try their other flavors. Note, this review is based on a pre-covid days visit and protocols, menu items may have changed since then. After having dinner nearby, my cousin and I stumbled upon this food truck parked in downtown Seattle. The name piqued my curiosity and was excited to find they were slinging edible cookie dough AND you could add ice cream to it. It was the perfect time for dessert so it was an easy decision to fall in line. The menu was small so it didn't take long to decide what to get. We ended up getting two of the Sugar + Spoon Signatures (cookie dough, ice cream, & waffle cone) and chose party animal and cookie monster cookie dough flavors. The cones of sugary goodness were bright and fun and instaworthy for sure. We got a lot of curious looks as we walked down the street with our cones. I love edible cookie dough and enjoyed both flavors. The cookie monster turns your mouth terribly blue though, lol. As a lover of all things sweet, it was a tad bit on the sweet side, but the ice cream helped to balance it. Between the two, I would pick the party animal as the winner. **COVID-19 Lockdown Edition** Three years ago I was diagnosed with a severe egg white intolerance. After going a lifetime of massively consuming eggs in every dish I could I was violently cut off. I suddenly realized that all my favorite dessert foods - cakes, doughnuts, brownies, tarts, custards, cinnamon rolls, and cookies - were all off the table. So, to find a place that sells egg free, safe to eat raw cookie dough? I was in heaven at the thought! I blame COVID-19 lockdown as before I never considered looking for an alternative, but when I saw an ad in Instagram I showed my friend in joint lockdown. He saw the vegan option and bought the vegan pack for himself and the signature pack for me. Now, this is my only complaint on the whole process. After my friend ordered online there was no way to really track the order. No status updates went out. He left instructions and those instructions were not followed. He ordered it on Tuesday for a Wednesday delivery and on Thursday the apartment maintenance worker texted my friend early in the morning saying he had a package in the mailroom. The status of the order still wasn't indicating it was delivered. Luckily no one took it. That said it was well worth it! The chocolate chip cookie dough is by far the richest. Party Animal came in third for me - it was quite sweet and tasted like a sugar cookie. I was fond of Cookie Monster and really, really fond of dough(REO) as it distinctly tasted like an Oreo cookie. All four were very good, all four were very sweet. I'm not sure how anyone could eat more than a few bites at a time so I'm glad to have the option to refrigerate and freeze what I will eat later. As mentioned - yes, it is expensive but it's going to last a long time, I can safely eat it, and it's the edible raw cookie dough! It is so sweet and tasty and somehow made without eggs. I rarely make my way into downtown Seattle anymore, so when I found myself here recently I knew I had to try Sugar + Spoon! I'm not even a sweets fan, but safe, edible cookie dough?! Must try! You can find Sugar + Spoon in their infamous white food truck in Westlake Center. It's a cute little truck perfect for photo ops (see mine attached!) They've got a few choices that ALL sound good. Red Velvet, Oreo, Animal Sugar Cookie, Snicker Doodle... Ahhh! I ended up going with the ole faithful, Chocolate Chip. PRO TIP: Check in on Yelp, and you can get your dough served in a cone for free instead of in a cup! I'm a cup girl myself, but if you're a cone kind of person, jump on that check-in. The Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough was good. Not as great as I was expecting though, honestly! There was something that tasted a little different than the cookie dough you make at home or buy in store. Yeah, yeah... You're not supposed to eat that stuff but I'm still alive today, so don't come for me. As I said before, I'm not a sweets fan. I could only eat about a quarter of my scoop before I tapped out. Luckily I was meeting up with my little sister, so I handed it over to her and she finished it off. As we left the matcha place, my gf said she wanted cookie dough and asked me if I would split a cup with her, who am I to say no? I tried the Cookie Monster and Camp Fire for fun. One bite of that camp fire and I knew I had to get it. The marshmallow fluff was stellar (wish there was more) and there was just enough graham cracker pieces without it being too much = resulting in a sore mouth. Ordered a single scoop of Brownie Batter with vanilla ice cream. While the concept of cookie dough and brownie batter is desserts is fun, this one didn't stand out. The batter reminds me of boxed brownie mix, down to texture and flavor. Vanilla was fine, but your basic vanilla. I definitely have a sweet tooth and found this pairing quite yummy in general. The ice cream was really good, but I'm not sure that it was good enough that I would get it again though. Finally visited a pop-up after seeing posts for a while. I tried the salted caramel crunch- initial reaction is that this is VERY sweet. I lightly tapped the dough to get a little taste and it was overwhelmingly just sugar. Even though it's really sweet, it honestly grows on you a little. BUT, I think the overall sweetness is enough to make me not return, unless someone reaaaally wanted it haha. If you asked me if it tastes like cookie dough, then yes, it does. It tastes pretty much the same, but definitely on the sweeter side. As for the salted caramel crunch specifically, it honestly didn't really taste like salted caramel (now that I think about it, the caramel could've added the extra sweetness that I don't think was really needed). That specific dough includes pretzel pieces, which I expected the consistency to be similar to that of the compost cookie from Milk Bar, but it was a little disappointing. The texture of the pretzel pieces were more on the soggy side, probably would've been better off sprinkled on the top or replaced by something else. Edible cookie dough has gotten popular in the last 4 years or so, so I suppose it's a cool and new-ish concept. But unless you like your desserts on the sweet sweet side and want to try something new, I'd recommend this place at least once. Otherwise, I'd try some place else. read more

I found out about this place recently and thought I check it out when in the area. Their main location is at Westlake close to Zara. They had 4 flavors available and we were able to sample all of them which was nice. I ended up getting the dough-reo which is just regular cookie dough with Oreo in it. My friend got the peppermint bark one. With a Yelp check in, I also got a free shot of cereal milk which was very nice. For me, it was ok, it was different, but very deceiving. They presented the dough as it was like ice cream (see pictures) so when you look at it, you're thinking you're eating ice cream, but when you bite into it...you're like 'where is the creaminess, where is the cold feeling, where is the ice cream?????? I'm pretty sure if this was during the hot summer, I would be fairly disappointed. I think if they presented differently, I would have like it a lot more. Also, one scoop of cookie dough does not equal to one scoop of ice cream, it's a lot heavier and more filling. Good thing I got the milk shot because that helped a lot to lighten things up. I couldn't decide whether to write my review based on the product itself or the service issues, so I'm separating it into two parts. Part One - The Cookie Dough I got the Party Animal cookie dough in a cone with a scoop of ice cream. After the first few bites, I was amazed at how the dough tasted and was regretting only getting one scoop. A couple bites later, however, I realized that it was super filling. I couldn't eat all of it in one sitting and had to save some for later. The reason it's so filling is because the cookie dough is super dense and sweet, almost too sweet. Normally, I love sweet and sugar-filled foods, which is why I was so excited to finally try Sugar + Spoon. But this was just too much, and I couldn't possibly imagine anyone getting more than one scoop. Based on taste, I would come here again, but probably with another person to share. Part Two - Service I understand why this is a popular business. It's safe-to-eat cookie dough. But when you really think about it, does it need to be this expensive? For what I got (dough, cone, and ice cream), the total was almost $10. I was surprised at the cost when the cashier said it but when I looked down at the price board I figured out what the designers did. You wouldn't notice the prices next to the items unless you really focused, because the font was super small. And at this point I couldn't say no because they were already handing me my cone. The ice cream wasn't even that good, and yet they charge $3 extra for a tiny scoop. For this price, I would have just found an edible cookie dough recipe to make at home. Alto disproves but I had to get the new flavors! For science! Sugar + Spoon ships nationwide via USPS Priority Mail in an insulated-lined box/bag with an ice pack. They're a brand started by UW alumni here in Seattle. Their cookie dough can be a bit pricy, but it's honestly some of the best-tasting that I've had. It lasts for 2 weeks in the fridge and 2 months in the freezer. I like to sloooowly eat just one scoop of it on nights when I want a sweet treat. They often have a food cart in front of Westlake Center and also sell from a small window on The Ave (University Way NE near the University of Washington). read more
