    Chocolate Earl Gray Ice Cream
    Tiffany Y.

Tucked into a little alleyway in Capitol Hill, it's a convenient ice cream spot after dinner! I really enjoyed chocolate earl grey and need to go back to try other flavors! The waffle cone was good! The one thing that's unfortunate is there's no seating! And when it's consistently rainy in Seattle, it's hard to enjoy your ice cream while your waffle cone is getting soaked!

a hidden gem of a spot located down an alley. our ice-cream scooper/ cashier was super nice and let us try a lot of samples and made us feel very comfortable. The ice cream was BOMB. I got four flavors in the largest size they had and now am in a coma. I got the Darkside, Cookies & Cream, Cold Brew and Cookies, and the Coffee flavor. All are exquisite, love the Olympia coffee flavor and the darkside was the BEST! Must try!

Cozy little shop tucked away in an alley. Staff was super nice and helped us with trying all the flavors. I chose their honey flavor. The honey was super sweet, creamy, and fragrant. It does leave a slight film in your mouth afterwards, but that's such a small inconvenience for something so tasty.

Very tasty ice cream and cute little spot to visit in the row! I will say the servings are a bit small compared to the pricing and it's hard to pick a flavor because there's no sign showing what's available - you can't see the flavors until you're right up front and it slows down ordering/can make you feel rushed

Seattle, Capitol Hill. July 2024. This area is right next to Seattle U, on 11th, so you never know from one day to the next if it will be a nice neighborhood spot or overrun by a horde of drunken young people. The shop is in an alley in Chop House Row so you will never see it from the street. They use an organic ice cream base, and like other artisan producers, they do small batches daily. They have a limited number of creative choices but what they have is good. They are also WSDA certified. I had Aztec Chocolate, with cayenne, cinnamon, and some bits of cookie, plus Cookies and Cold Brew, using Olympia coffee. I like ice cream with texture and enjoyed the chewy and crunchy bites in a firm ice cream base. It's not an everyday kind of indulgence but I'm glad I found them and tried them.

They might not do over the top flavors a la salt & straw but they do all their flavors right. Dark side is so deeply chocolatey, as persian rose is so floral and nutty, and the black sesame omg. I could have a bowl of the stuff every day. The fig honey crumble is also good and even at least favorite i still really liked it

Really tasty ice cream and in a cute little location! My husband and I came on a Wednesday night after dinner and we had no idea this cute area even existed even though we've walked by many times. Service was friendly! Note - they don't do samples which is fine, they have a nice variety of flavors. We decided on the strawberry and Persian rose flavors and both were so good! We also bought one of their brownies! So yummy!

We stopped by this place since it was nearby and it was a hot day. This place is definitely smaller than the UW location and didn't have as many flavors. Also they didn't allow samples so you kinda have to just know what flavors they are. The people here are nice though and knew what is in each ice cream. She was able to explain everything clearly. The cookies are also baked onsite so it was fresh which is nice. We got the waffle brittle ice cream as well as the monster cookie. The waffle brittle cookie was still warm and soft you if you want the frubchz definitely wait until it cools down. The flavor was good, definitely on the coconut side. The ice cream was good, I did wish there was more do the waffle chunk though. Overall it's a good place for ice cream and I would come back if I'm in the area Overall, the place is small but serves it's purpose. They still do punch cards here as well.

Tucked away in a cute alleyway, I definitely would have missed it had it not been for seeing other people walking out with their ice cream! I got the Persian rose ice cream which I thought was very unique and the rose flavor didn't feel overwhelming like how some floral desserts can be. While the other flavors in the shop were also unique, I for some reason didn't care much for them. While the flavors were good, I felt like the ice cream felt a bit... icier? Than I'd typically want my ice cream to be. Overall, a very cute spot but I don't know if I'd be particularly dying to go back right away.

    Milli 6oz Darkside ice cream ($6.50, 5/7/23)

I've visited other Sweet Alchemy sites in the University District and Ballard. However, this was my first visit to the Capitol Hill/Chophouse Row site which was formerly Kurt Farm Shop (5/7/23). Scored on free street parking by Chophouse Row, I decided to have at scoop of ice cream after visiting nearby Ellliott Bay Book Company. Friendly counter person. Ordered a milli (6oz, $6.50) serving of their Darkside chocolate ice cream. I chose to sit in the courtyard with others soaking in the pleasant spring weather. Pro tips: I still have three clean pint containers in my car trunk. These can be returned to any site for a discount when future pints are purchased. Make sure to start a punch/stamp card. Also, if you're a UW Alumni Association member, show your membership card and receive a discount. I keep forgetting to do the latter two. The greater Seattle area has quite the abundant selection of indie ice cream and gelato shops. Sweet Alchemy is a worthy splurge!

Persian Rose Ice Cream & London Fog Ice Cream
    Stephanie H.

Unique, non-standard flavors! At first, I had a difficult time figuring out which flavors to try. I decided to order the Persian Rose Ice Cream (cardamom and rose water ice cream with pistachio bits) and the London Fog Ice Cream (earl gray tea with their own blend of vanilla). I personally enjoyed them, but can see why some may not, since the flavors are different from the usual ones you're used to seeing. Sweet Alchemy Ice Cream has a good amount of creaminess, and I ended up wishing I had ordered the largest size. A few notes: The business is located down an alleyway, so you won't see it from the street. Also, parking during a weekday evening was extremely difficult to find and I ended up getting dropped off.

About a minute after getting my drink, I took a sip and was surprised that it was cold--not even lukewarm, but actually cold. I didn't go back to ask for a remake because there were several people in line behind me and I didn't want to wait. Instead, I ended up microwaving it when I got back to my Airbnb. The latte itself was decent and had a strong espresso flavor, but the mocha syrup was way too sweet for my taste. I think it would have been much better if it had been about half as sweet. The price was also pretty high for a 12 oz latte. The customer service was disappointing. The young woman who helped me came across as rude and seemed like she didn't want to be there. That's especially unfortunate for a business located in the middle of a major tourist area. As for the drink, I'm not sure how a hot latte ends up being served cold, but it definitely shouldn't happen. I also sampled the tiramisu gelato, which was overly sweet and didn't taste very authentic. Overall, I regret spending the time, money, and calories here. There are too many great coffee shops in Seattle to settle for an experience like this.

So funny. The staff is kind and is more than happy to let you sample to your heart's desire. There is seating both inside and out. I am sure on summer evenings this place is insanely busy, but on a Monday at approximately 2PM, I didn't wait in a line at all. They had fun summer flavors such as apricot crisp, blueberry cheesecake, cherry chunk, and strawberry sorbet. I tried two different flavors, and both were delicious. Both flavors were extremely creamy, even the fruity flavored ones. I started with the strawberry sorbet. It was refreshing. The strawberry really shined through and was extremely fresh tasting. I feel like strawberry flavoring can sometimes come off as artificial, but I did not have that experience with this ice cream. The second flavor I sample, and my favorite one of the day was the honey lavender. It felt like you were walking through an organic lavender field. As always, cities have expensive ice cream, but I am just a girl, so I will get a sweet treat.
