I live in Washington and every year, I order cakes for my parents for their birthdays. They always look forward to it. It's my way of celebrating with them since I cannot be there. This year, I reached out to Sugarbee over FB messenger. Someone responded promptly asking for more information regarding the cake so they can provide me with a quote. I submitted my request and didn't hear back. I followed up 5 days later to be told that they are booked until May 10. Our wedding cake from Sugarbee was excellent. We went for a lemon cake with lavender icing. We couldn't have been happier with the service or the final product. The royal blue design was nicely done, they let us use a custom cake-topper, and they did a great job with the blue roses we wanted. The staff responded quickly when we communicated, they made sure someone was there to give us the cake even though they were supposed to be closed that day, and - to my relief - nothing at all went wrong through the entire process. It is most likely a better idea to plan ahead on a cake or cupcakes for a birthday or event but I did not and lucked out on a dozen of cupcakes which I selected myself. This is just from my experience. Everyone is different and has different taste buds. TL:DR - if you want diabetes this is the place to be. Note: I've had yeast waffles as that's how they make them in Belgium. Also I've had creme brulee waffles from another establishment that specializes in sweet and savory waffles. Although there were some aspects that maybe as someone who's front counter, shouldn't really ignore other customers when they see a regular or service animal come in. On to the food. I ordered the creme brulee waffle and butter cake. The waffle itself tasted like yeast. Perhaps they added too much to the batter? I can tell because I've done before when making bread at home. The creme brulee itself was not bad but I've had better. Also on top of the confectioners sugar they dusted granulated sugar on the waffle making it extra sweet. Too sweet for me. Note the butter cake was just like eating 3 tablespoons of sugar. From the tiny bite I had it was as if my tongue was covered in sugar. It was as of if you eating liquid sugar. A lot of people apparently have a very sugary tooth because I ha alsove the piece to my co worker and him and his family said it was too sweet. My sweet tooth isn't as sweet as every one else's which is why I'm not to fond of this place. If you love LOVE sugar this is the place for you. But if you like semi sweet sweets/pastries like 85° or Asian bakery sweets, this place is not for you. read more

Candace was great! We tried a couple of places around town for our wedding cake and ended up really enjoying the flavor Sugarbee offers as well as the environment Candace created. I am vegan and my fiancé (now husband) is definitely not, so finding a cake was going to be a bit of a challenge. My husband really like her lemon cake and strawberry filling, this ended up being our middle tier. Candace then set up a second tasting with us at no extra charge to try her vegan options. She worked up some flavors just for us as well as vegan icing to try. We ended up doing vegan vanilla for the top layer and vegan red velvet for the bottom. For taste she strongly suggested not doing fondant and just doing the icing, which was all vegan and very white. We sent her a picture of the designee wanted and she delivered. She showed up to the venue on time, add all the flower provided by our florist and was just a really sweet and genuine person the day of the event. Having heard rave reviews about this bakery, I decided to buy a friend two cupcakes for her birthday. The container I received did not have a divider or a way to hold the cupcakes in place. I was leery of the packaging but I didn't want to make a big deal about it. I tried my best to keep the container upright and from moving in the car. However, by the time I gave her the cupcakes they had fallen over and the decorating was ruined. I was mortified to give her something so awful looking! I wish I would have taken at picture to share (6/18/17 UPDATE: I found the photo I had taken saved to my cloud). My friend said the cupcakes were good but for the price of $3 per cupcake, I would expect to receive decent packaging. Between the high prices and this experience, I think it is worth searching for an alternative. :( RESPONSE TO CANDACE: The container I received was a clear clamshell without dividers or individual slots for cupcakes), perhaps used for your other food and bakery items. I would give zero stars if I could! This was my first time placing an order here and I regret it 100%. This was for my daughter 13th birthday!! She instructed me to meet her at the store that Friday between 10-12 to place the order. I showed up and the girl told me she wasn't in today. (Should have been the first sign) so I showed the other girl there, Alexandra my texts with Candace and what it was that I wanted. She even took a picture of the cake I showed her with her phone. I asked her if whomever was making the cake would see it she said yes! (Clearly not the case) when I picked up the order it was very clear that it was mostly white and had barely any color in it and was definitely not marble. My mistake was leaving with the cake. I called the girl to express my dissatisfaction. She literally told me over the phone that there was nothing they could do and that I should sent an email with my concerns. I asked to speak with the owner to see if there was anything that could be done. It is my daughter's 13th birthday for gosh sakes and just spent $120 on a cake that clearly doesn't resemble what I ordered. I could not believe that a company based in Redlands would not be willing to try to make their first time customer happy. Perhaps offering to make a new cake. Perhaps a future discount. Perhaps a partial refund. The cake I receive is pretty which I told them but it was NOT what I order or expressed to 2 different staff. Before I got off the phone the girl assured me that she would get a hold of the owner sometime next week (my daughter birthday was the next day) to let her know and she would give me a call back. I have yet to receive a call. Though I did receive a somewhat nice email from someone ( not sure if it was the owner) that did apologize a. Stating some BS about sunlight changing fondant. Again with no offer to try and make it right. Please DO NOT order a cake from them. If you do make sure it is what you ordered. I haven't even tasted the cake yet so I only pray that the inside is what I actually ordered and doesn't taste horrible. Stay away from this place, clearly not willing to satisfy their customers. My cake tasted so dry , i chose strawberry with funfetti and there was no flavor in the cake whatsoever. the filing was super thick with just a few sprinkles. I barely noticed the funfetti , i was very disappointed. The cake design was good no complaints there and their service was good. The lady who took my order was very nice. I spent $260 for a 10" cake. I stop serving it once i had a couple bites, the few guest that tried it agreed, i tossed out more than half of the cake. First and last time i go here.
